The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby kept her hands from fidgeting with her belt. She was dressed to show off her discolored legs. She didn't like it, but the rally was for peace. For encouraging mutant and human relations. But she was really nervous.
She had asked Cafas to take her, once she found out he was going to be there. And he had agreed! He let her come with, though she was off to the side of the main stage. She could see the X-Men lined up, some of which she still didn't know the names of.
She listened to Cafas's speech. Other kids were hurt because of their differences. Things they couldn't control made people fear them. Fear them enough to hurt them.
>> "And to request peace in this time of fear and pain. To cry for an end to the attacks on our community, to beg our own to take no revenge. To tell the world, that violence should not be our path. WILL not be our path."
Peace. Abby aborted a movement to mess with the headband she had put on. She wasn't visible from where she stood. But there were people backstage with her. A few of the stage workers had motioned towards her so she knew she was being watched.
The little blonde thought back to the gathered group of students around every television all turned to the same thing. A lot of older kids had missed classes to watch the news. She had been able to get a seat early on. Watching the news of the bombing was terrifying. They were still pulling bodies out too. So many that they didn't have the real numbers for hours. One hundred and two people total. Forty-nine lives taken. Fifty-three more to be decided. She knew there were still some in critical care.
The adults and older kids were worried about a repeat of riots that happened before. Abby didn't know much about that time in New York. But the research she had done showed that a lot of people were hurt during them. She didn't want that.
>> "...May your thoughts and prayers go to the innocent people affected by this incredible tragedy."
She closed her green eyes and remembered the photos the news had showed that morning. Several of them were younger than she was. She prayed they were safe and without pain wherever they were.
>> "Thank you all, and thank you once again for coming. It's incredibly inspiring to see so much love, in the face of hatred."
There was silence for a moment. Then one of the nicer stage workers bent down to her ear. "Go on, Honey. Say a few words," the woman whispered. Taking a look at the woman, Abby nodded. Cafas had said to listen to the adults while he was out there.
Taking a breath, Abby raced out into the silence of the crowd. She slowed as she got to the too tall microphone. There wasn't time to move it though. She went up on her toes to get closer. "Please, no more fighting," she called out. "Please?"
She took a look out at all the people. So many. Too many. She turned and ran to where she could hide behind Cafas. She hoped her words would help.

Abby just stood in her doorway. There was a wolf outside her door. It was a familiar wolf too. The shifter from before. The one she had dried off and had a meal with. She crouched down to look at the wolf. He seemed to be sleeping.
"It's a good thing doors open inwards," she mumbled. There was something itching at her brain, but she ignored it. "Well, would you like to watch a movie with me? It'd probably be better than sleeping in the hallway."

Abby took a deep breath as she moved down the hallway. She moved as quickly as she could. Something was wrong. Very wrong. She wasn't sure what exactly was wrong, but she knew one of her fish was sick. The white spots were telling. Her Sunshine Pleco, which she named Minerva, had white spots all over her body. She had been cleaning the tank when she spotted the spots. Minerva didn't look too good.
She had thought of looking for Cafas, but when she asked a few other students they didn't know where he was. So she asked if there was a teacher for biology somewhere. It wasn't totally uncommon for students to have pets. It wasn't exactly against the rules, as far as she knew. No one had told her not to, at least. One of the older students told her to look for Dr. Fishman. So she was moving through the hallways looking for the right office.
Taking only enough time to read the plagues beside the doors meant she almost missed it. Twisting quickly she knocked on the door and pushed it open a little. "Excuse me, Dr. Fishman?" she called out. She hoped he was here. She didn't want Minerva to die. She didn't want any of her fish to die. Though with all the guppies it was hard to keep a correct count.

Abby had borrowed one of her classmate's laptop for her evening. She helped them with their homework for letting her borrow it a few times. She wanted one of her own but had no money to buy one. Though with her new friendship with Panu... Anything could happen.
Her day had been really strange but in a good way. She made some friends, had fun, ate ice cream. It was a good day. Strange, but good. Now though she just wanted to watch one of her favorite movies. Treasure Planet was a movie her Daddy had liked. They had watched it a lot before.
Looking around her room as she walked backwards to her door, she counted what she needed. She had her blanket fort set up in the unoccupied corner of her room. The laptop was waiting with the movie menu already loaded. There were plenty of pillows and blankets in the fort. Now all she needed was snacks. She was wondering if she should find some candy to go with her popcorn as she opened her bedroom door.

>>“I would like raspberry. Maybe with caramels in it. Did you know there are shops where they will put things in your ice cream? Like gummi bears.”
Abby nodded. "I think there are. We could look it up, though I don't have a phone." She knew Google would probably help them find an ice cream place like Miika talked about.
>>“Couldn't find a babysitter, wolf? No ice cream in here, kids.”
"Why would there me ice cream here?" Abby shot back. The guard-dog man growled back.
>>"Couldn't earn a real job? The ice cream is for after, but I guess you wouldn't have figured that out."
Abby smiled sweetly at the guard-dog man as she pulled the others to go past him. Though it probably didn't look very sweet with her sharp and pointy teeth. She didn't want any fighting. Not when they needed in. Guard-dog man put an arm out to stop her.
"Hold it, little girl," he growled. "You know where you are? What's in there?"
No, Abby didn't know where she was or what was in there. Uh-oh.

Abby was a little proud of Astrid's reaction to her lick. Served the girl right. She wasn't sure why she was still listening to the older girl. She didn't seem very nice. From stealing clothes to scaring people. Abby was wondering how she would explain the day's events to her friends.
>>"We are leave now."
Should she listen to the girl? Abby was probably already in trouble for the clothes thing. It wasn't like the time she met Panu. That was fun and she had agreed to it. This was more like... kidnapping? Maybe.
"Why should I listen to you?" she asked, though she did move to the bathroom doorway. Just so she could see Astrid better.

>>"No, and I think you should maybe tell Aunt Teresa how you feel. It's the only way it will get better."
Tell Aunt Teresa? Would that actually work? Would Aunt Teresa listen to her?
>>"At the same time though, do you think it's bad that Aunt Teresa wants to make this feel more like home for you? Maybe she's just trying to lessen the loss?"
Abby thought about that for a bit. It wasn't often that she saw her Aunt and Uncle. Only when they visited or some holiday was coming up. Home. Did she think of her Aunt and Uncle's house as home? Not really. The school was more home than their house. She didn't really have a room there. Though it was technically her room, she didn't decorate it like her room here.
"But this is home," she said finally. Even though some of the other students didn't like her much, it was still home to her. "And Aunt Teresa doesn't live here. She lives with Uncle." Abby was a little confused now. "Aunt Teresa only acts like a mommy when I'm at their house. Not when I'm here."

>>"Huh. I guess I'm stronger than I look."
Adults were so weird. It was a fact. Abby had met too many weird adults to not know this fact. From pink haired dads to the strange headmaster to this gate killing lady. When she thought about it, Abby probably knew more adults and kids her age. Maybe. She'd have to count them later.
She watched Muffet and the gate killer lady exchange papers. Abby wondered if her Aunt had to fill out papers like that. She couldn't remember. Though she probably hadn't been in the office back then.
>>"So, I'll follow school among others like us? Because if you put me between normal people.. they Won't be very happy."
Abby didn't like the way Muffet was talking. Though she really couldn't blame her. The blonde said similar things in the past. "Like I said, you're stuck with us. There is no escape," she wrapped an arm around the younger girl. "And what exactly is normal?" Abby thought it was a good question. Her Mommy had often said that crazy was normal and people who thought they were normal were crazy.

*wiggles* So excited. Right now the plan is for Sarah to meet some of the mutants who will be willing to have her sketch them. Then have a group thread for the show itself. If you don't want to have her actually meet and sketch I'm fine with off-screen happenings.
So my list right now is: Memo (all the pretty), Juliette (will probably be first person she asks about this idea), Glitch (if I was an actual artist my artist fingers would be twitching), Elliott (who is the reason for this plot), and Victoria (Anonymous is fine, thought probably be more Sarah obscuring faces than anything else). PMs are welcome for threading ^_^

>>"Oh, hun. Headmaster Kipperling said he's out to go... I don't know. Something about a rescue T-rex? Let me guess. New registrant?"
Abby let a little snort out at that. She was never too sure if adults were joking or being serious. Usually she could only figure it out if she found another adult to ask. She'd have to seek out the pink haired one to find out if there really was a T-rex involved. Though if there was, why would a T-rex need rescuing... Or would the T-rex be doing the rescuing?
>>"Yes miss, I just got here. I assume I have to give you the papers my mom gave me?"
Wasn't there a movie with a T-rex trying to get to someone. But the T-rex couldn't because it's arms were too short? She'd have to go look through the movies later to find it.
>>"I actually don't realy know what to do, I mean, did my parents enter me for a school? 'Cause normal kids don't realy like me.."
Uh-oh. Abby's mental track came to a halt and her mouth opened before she could think through her words. "If I have to go to school, you do too. It's like a law or something. You're stuck with us, Muffet. No escape." Well that wasn't too bad. Turning to the adult, who she vaguely knew as the woman who "killed the gate," the little blonde opened her mouth. Without thinking. Again. "Can you help us out, ma'am?" Or should we find someone else to help us? Luckily she kept that last part in her head. That would not have been a good thing to say.

>>"Leave."
Abby watched in something akin to terror as the Hispanic woman fled from the room. Part of her wanted to be upset with Astrid for being cruel, but another part was just happy it was over. When she heard the door to the hotel room slam shut, Abby opened her mouth a little and stuck out her tongue. She made sure Astrid knew how she felt about the treatment.
