The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby had been really happy as she went out for the day. The Rally had been... something. She was just roaming the streets that day. She was hoping to see that things would return to normal or better. And they had been. For a bit.
As she moved through residential areas people recognized her from the rally and said hi or asked how she was. She had expected that. Cafas and a few older kids had all told her (at different times) that people would know her because of her actions at the rally. She didn't think about consequences when it happened, but she was happy that people seemed to take her request seriously.
She eventually left the residential areas. That was her first mistake. Her second was not realizing she was being followed until the person tried to grab her. She had given up keeping her jacket and bolted from whoever it was. She could hear a few slurs being thrown at her as she ran. She knew better than to turn to look at them. That would cost time.
She didn't know this area of New York well. But she did have a good sense of direction. She took several sharp turns in the alleyways to confuse whoever was following her, and made sure she was headed back to the residential area she started in. As she ran towards, hopefully, other people, she could hear whoever was following her gaining ground. She turned a corner quick as she could to try to by some more time.

It was the day after Odessa, and Kirsi was angry.
Not just angry. Furious, even. She wanted to go out and find whoever had done it and put a quarter in his skull. No - that was too good for him. She wanted to make him feel that pain that those kids must have felt, make him suffer like the ones who were still in the hospitals, fighting for their lives. But the parents - the parents were another story. She knew that a good portion of those victims were only at the shelter because they'd been kicked out of their own homes for being mutants. And now their parents were all sad and weepy? They didn't deserve it.
She was jerked out of her unusually vindictive reverie by the sound of some very offensive mutant slurs, and she bristled. Maybe she wouldn't be able to hunt down whoever caused Odessa, but she could hunt down whoever was probably making another mutant feel like shit.
Kirsi started running towards the source of the noise. She didn't know exactly where it was - this part of the city was more of a maze than anything - but she kept running. And eventually, she caught sight of someone running around a corner. She only got a flash of blonde hair, but that was enough. She was immediately followed by a group of much bigger men, all calling out with murder in their eyes.
Kirsi stepped out behind them all. "Hey!" she shouted. The men all slowed to a stop, or at least glanced back in confusion. One of them just kept running, and in one swift movement, Kirsi pulled out a bullet and put it through the runner's neck. The rest of them were quick to stop after their path was blocked by arterial spray. "You want a fight? Come and get one."
She was angry. So, so angry. And it looked like she had somebody to take it out on now.

Abby could hear someone yell out. Then most of the feet stopped. Then a sound of something hitting the ground. She risked a chance and looked behind her. There was a girl at the other side of the group of men. Between Abby and the men... A body. A dead body. With blood pooling under it.
"You little, b****!" one of the men yelled. Green eyes jerked from the body to the group. She spotted a few baseball bats and crowbars within the group, nothing too dangerous. The men seemed to have forgotten her, so Abby moved to the side of the alley. Whatever the other girl did, she didn't want to end up like the man on the ground. Though it seemed like the girl was on her side. That was a good thing. Maybe.
As she moved, she spotted a few large rocks near her desired spot. She could use those. Maybe. She wasn't much of a fighter but the other girl looked younger than her. She wasn't going to leave her to face the people who were chasing her. Once to the rocks, she picked up one of them and weighed it in her hand. With a big gulp of air, she threw it with all her might at the group of men.

"You little -" Kirsi ignored the rest of that sentence, on principle, because she was still at the point where anything worse than "dammit" (in English, that was) made her cringe. Swearing in English was so... crude. Scandinavia did it so much better.
"Jævla drittsekker," she snarled at them, just to prove her point. Which, in English, translated loosely to f***ing sh*tbags, but it was still a lot nicer-sounding in Norwegian. The armed gang clearly didn't understand a word she'd said, but she was assuming they got the general gist, considering it looked like they'd turned their collective attention back to her. Good. It might've been because she killed one of them in cold blood, but hey, she wasn't picky. They did what she wanted - why, she didn't care.
Until a large rock came sailing out of nowhere and clunked their presumptive leader - the one who'd swore at her - in the skull, knocking him out cold.
Kirsi wasn't trying to laugh. She really wasn't. But she snickered, loudly and unintentionally, when the man dropped as hard as the rock that hit him to begin with. The gang looked confused, now, and a slight bit worried. They seemed like they'd realized that one of their own was completely and totally dead, and another was unconscious on the ground. Obviously, Kirsi was the bigger threat - anything, especially rocks, were dangerous when thrown with sufficient force, but Kirsi was the biggest source of force in the area. But they were more focused on the most recent threat, which was the little girl.
Kirsi was going to have to change that, because judging by how terrified the other girl looked, she wasn't used to fighting.
Moving quickly, she held out her palms in front of her and launched the closest person as hard as she could. She had to dig her shoes into the dirt so she wouldn't fly backwards, but it was still pretty hard to avoid careening off. The man wasn't too heavy-looking, so he pretty much flew into three of his comrades, and they all stumbled. One fell on top of another and there was a high-pitched yelp of pain as a knee connected with a crotch, and Kirsi snickered again.
While they were distracted, Kirsi sprinted around them to where the other girl was huddled against the wall next to a pile of rocks. Up close, Kirsi could tell that the girl was maybe a couple years older than Kirsi herself was, and that the skin of her legs were strangely discolored. Kirsi couldn't help feeling that she'd seen the girl before. "Thanks," she said, referring to the girl's throw that had bought her the chance to run over here. She almost introduced herself using one of her many codenames, but it didn't feel... right. "I'm Kirsi," she said. "Are you okay?"

Abby was a little shocked at the younger girl's ability. It was a lot more useful than her mutation. At least, on land. She jumped a little when the other blonde came over. The shifter hadn't expected that.
>>"Thanks. I'm Kirsi. Are you okay?"
Abby nodded. "Yeah, thanks for helping." She looked back at the mostly knocked over men. "Guess I shouldn't have come out right after the rally." One of the fallen men started to get to his feet. "I don't know about you, but I think we should get out of here."

"Yeah, thanks for helping. Guess I shouldn't have come out right after the rally. I don't know about you, but I think we should get out of here."
That was where Kirsi had seen her before - the rally! She'd been the little girl on stage asking for peace. Well, solid sentiment, but it didn't look like a lot of people agreed.
"You're right," Kirsi said. "Just start running. I'll be right behind you." She turned around to face the man who was getting up. "Go!" she called again, just in case the girl hadn't moved yet.
She shoved the man back again with another kinetic push, feeling her energy reserves drain as she did so. As she turned to run and follow the girl, she pulled a little beanbag out of her bag and tossed it at the group, pouring the rest of the stored-up energy into it. As soon as she rounded a corner, and pressed herself against the wall, the beanbag exploded, sending high-speed bits of filling everywhere. Kirsi even still had to stop a couple of the pieces flying at her, because they drove right through the brick wall.
As soon as the metaphorical smoke cleared, Kirsi took off again after the other girl. If the little beanbag bomb hadn't killed them, they were most definitely incapacitated, and that was good enough for her.

Though the other girl was younger, she seemed like she knew what she was talking about. As soon as Abby heard "go" she bolted. She turned the corner wide, not trusting herself to stay on her feet if she did a tight turn there. She got a bit further from the alley and stopped, panting. She wanted to get out of there, but she wasn't going to leave the other girl, Kirsi her mind supplied.
She waited with baited breath for the other blonde to show up. She jumped a little at the loud bang that came from the alley. Then Kirsi was there. Abby felt a weight leave her. "You okay?" she asked once the girl was closer. "Oh! Sorry, I'm Abby!"
