The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby jumped on her toes a little when she found out Muffet played piano. They'd have to play together sometime. Abby could only do solo pieces since she had yet to find someone to play with. They could play Hungarian Dance No.2!
The excited twelve year old snapped out of her daydream when the younger girl turned towards her for help. Smiling kindly Abby moved to open the door. "'Cuse us, but we need some help," she called out.

>>"I haven't. Do you know anyone close? I guess I need to hand over the papers my mom gave me.."
Abby took a moment to think after handing over the drawings. She wasn't too sure who would be the best person to help. But she knew where the office was. "We'll just go to the office. Someone is usually in there."
>>"But, you're like, a shark? That's sooo cool! I mean, I'm just some weird purple spider-ish thing! You can just turn into a shark mermaid?"
The blonde felt her cheeks heat at the compliment. She was getting used to people thinking her mutation was cool, but it was still a new idea for her to grasp. "Only a shark," Abby commented absentmindedly as she stood. "Specifically a tiger shark. Adolescent tiger shark. You can see my stripes on my legs." Her straightened one of her legs to help Muffet see the darker gray against her usual gray skinned legs.
>>"Right, Adult. Can you lead the way, please? I haven't had any time to find a map or anything."
"Sure!" Abby smiled and started leading the younger girl to the Mansion doors. "It's not too far from the door. Do you play any instruments? I'd love to see what I could play with that many arms. I play piano, though there's not a whole lot who do here. Most prefer mobile instruments." The green eyed girl silently hoped the new girl played something. It was no fun playing by yourself.
Taking another corner, Abby spotted the correct office for Muffet's admittance. "There it is!" she pointed to the door.

Abby wasn't sure how to take the sudden laughter from Cafas. She didn't think she had said anything funny. Was he laughing at her? Should she not have asked.
>>"Sorry, I wasn't laughing at you, that was just so unexpected. Well, I guess technically I'm not a father. My girlfriend just has a son, and that comes with responsibilities, especially after the first few months. It changes a lot in your life when you have so much responsibility to another person, but it doesn't need to change who you are. Who I am like having pink hair."
She nodded at his answer. So she just surprised him. She couldn't remember the last time someone laughed because of surprise but accepted the explanation.
>>"Do you miss her? Your mum? It's okay if you do, I miss mine sometimes."
Abby stopped the mixer and looked down. She always missed her Mommy, but she had met some that didn't even know their Mommy or Daddy. "I do. Aunt Teresa tries but she isn't Mommy." The little girl paused before asking a question that always bothered her. "Is it bad that I don't like it when Aunt Teresa tries to be my Mommy?"

>>"Uhm.. could you help me? I just arrived, and I have no idea what I have to do now.. I mean, I assume you are a mutant too, you're not running away from me or anything.."
Abby smiled. "Sure, I'll help!" Then she was picking up papers that had scattered.
>>"Anyway, nice to meet you! I'm Muffet Hart, I just arrived from Wales."
"I'm Abby Clark. Other students call me a sharkmaid since I get a shark's tail in water. I think I've been here for three years now," she grinned back. "Have you talked to any of the adults yet? They can get your papers all done." The little blonde could vaguely remember all of the papers her Aunt had to fill out to get her situated. Once they got all of Muffet's things picked up, they would have to find someone older to help.

Abby let out a muffled squeal as Astrid's hand covered her mouth. With wide green eyes the twelve year old stared in shock at the older girl. She wasn't sure what to do as the winged girl moved them into the bathroom.
>>"Quiet."
The blonde nodded a little, now scared. She watched in amazement as the black winged changed to crystal.
"Hello? Housekeeping?" a voice called into the now empty room.

>>"Trying to convince a four year old in a bad mood to eat his own dinner distracted me. Getting him to bed had taken priority after that. That took ages. Normal boring adult things."
Abby paused in her assembly of the mixer and looked at the pink haired man. He didn't look like a dad. She didn't know any dads with pink hair. She opened her mouth to ask a question. Then she reconsidered it. It might be mean to ask. But he had been nice so far. And the teachers always said they could ask any kind of question. Taking a deep breath, the little blonde decided to just ask. "If you're a Dad, why's your hair pink?" she asked quickly.
Taking the pot full of potatoes, she plopped them in the bowl followed by milk and butter. She took the mixer and mushed some of the potatoes down. "Mommy always said you needed to help the potatoes along before they were ready to be eaten as mashed potatoes," she explained quietly before turning on the mixer.

Abby was hiding. Well sort of. The older girls who liked to dress her up were wanting their life-size doll again. The little blonde was not in the mood for their game of dress up. It was one of her days where she didn't care about her discolored legs. She was just fine with what she had put on this morning. Thanks much. Intent on avoiding the girls, she took to the grounds. Most of the students knew Abby spent time inside rather than out so outside was where she was hiding.
>>"Seriously? My first minute here, and I screw up!"
Looking around quickly, Abby spotted the speaker. They certainly looked new to her. Putting her legs to use, she raced over to help them, since it looked like their things spilled out of their bag. "Are you okay?" she asked as she crouched. Picking up a few pages saw the little sharkmaid get distracted. "Wow. These are really good pictures. Did you draw them?" she asked as she looked down at the papers.
Abby listened to Astrid struggle with her words. She didn't blame her. English was strange even to her. "Mature?" she offered. Then a knock sounded on the door of the room.

Abby let the older girl play with her hair. She was a little cautious, but the little blonde had already let the winged girl do so much to her person. The headband was a new idea. Usually she just left her hair to do whatever it wanted.
>>"Voila! You are look much better, oui?"
Abby looked to the mirror and studied the new hair style. It was very strange having something on her head that wasn't a hat. "I guess," she mused. It really was different for her.

>>"Hair now."
Abby wasn't sure what Astrid could do with her short hair, but joined the black haired girl. "There's not a whole lot you can do with my hair. I keep it short since I swim a lot," she tried to explain.

Abby had watched enough TV to know she would have to keep still for this to work. She stayed as still as she could. Every time the brush hit her eyes she flinched a little but she kept silent. Astrid seemed to be a person who would do what they wanted without care. Better to go along with her than against her.
>>"Look."
She listened and went to the mirror. She'd never worn makeup before so the little blonde wasn't sure what to expect. The long black lines seemed to cause the her green eyes to brighten. It was... cool and pretty were the only words that came to mind. "Wow. How'd you do this?" she asked quietly. When Abby got some money she'd have to look into getting some makeup. It probably wouldn't be for everyday but it'd still be fun.

As soon as she was in Astrid's arms, Abby started to list all of the marine animals she knew. She started with the Tiger Shark as it was the one her mutation reflected. She was just getting to the Blue-Ringed Octopus when Astrid stopped.
>>"Here."
"Thanks," she said absentmindedly as she took in the room. It looked like a hotel. Probably one of the more expensive ones based on the space. The little blonde had a feeling the winged girl wasn't planning on paying for the room either.
>>"Sit."
After a moment of hesitation, she went to the bed and sat down. When she saw what the black haired girl had in her hand, she winced. "Try not to poke my eye out," she said slowly. Now that she knew it wasn't just the girl being curt, Abby decided to try to help Astrid actually hear her.

French? That wasn't so bad. Her Aunt used a lot of French words from her family. Abby went through her brain for some of the words as she followed.
>>"Astrid. We must fly now, oui?"
She silently thanked whoever was listening that Astrid actually asked about the flying thing. "Okay, but I'm closing my eyes again. Let me know when it's over, si'l vous plait?" She said the last slowly. She wasn't sure if she had said it right, but hopefully the girl would know what she meant.

>>"Maquillage... Maquillage..."
The girl made a strange motion that she recognized from the older girls putting on makeup. They had tried once but after seeing her teeth the girls had decided to forgo it. "Makeup? What language is that?" Abby asked, guessing at the motion. She had already decided to learn a bit of Finnish for Panu, she might as well learn another one. They say it gets easier with every one. "I've never really worn makeup before. So long as you don't poke my eye out, I think we'll be good."
>>"Name?"
She decided to go with the same name she first told Panu. Knowing her luck they would run into each other somehow. "Abbigail. You?"

>>"Tell nothing. Say friend got clothes. Or lie. Nice not to pay, yes?"
"Something like that," Abby grumbled. She still took the clothes though. If she could find the store again she could give them back. Though she really did like the dress she was wearing.
>>"Now, face?"
The little blonde looked up at the (much) taller girl. "What are you going to do to my face?"
