The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby hummed a tune as she walked with her wolf friend. It was nice to be able to just spend time with someone. She was a little shocked when he pushed into her. Looking around she spotted a reptile like kid grinning at them. She tilted her head as he kid tried to touch her wolf friend. Her friend didn't like that. He snapped at the reptile kid.
Laughing, she smiled down at her friend. "Aren't you all warmth and cuddles," she teased. There didn't seem to be a good reason for her friend to be her friend, but she was happy to have someone who spent time with her at the school. Even if she had only gotten that one glimpse at his human face.
She went back to humming as they finished their walk to the kitchen. She went straight for the lower cabinet with the popcorn bags, then moved to put the opened bag in the microwave. Then she went to what most students called the "candy cabinet" which held several different large bags of the most common candies. "Can you have chocolate? Ya know, being canine and all right now?" she asked as she pulled down some Reese's and m&ms. She liked mixing them with her popcorn. Once her candy was on a counter she turned back to the cabinet. "Any candy you want me to grab?"

>>"Well,I'm not exactly certain about the pet policy around here. But, regardless, if someone finds out, they didn't hear it from me."
Abby smiled a little at that. He wouldn't tell on her! She could keep her fish!
>>"So, what seems to be the problem?"
The little shifter took a moment to collect her thoughts. "Minerva has these white, fuzzy spots on her. I was checking on them just a bit ago when I saw the spots. I didn't see them yesterday, but Minerva was kinda hiding behind the ship so I don't know for sure."
She checked on her fish everyday. If she couldn't see them she let them be but she knew that fish could get sick easily. But nothing she knew about formed the white, fuzzy spots. She knew about fish ick, clamped fin, and flukes. Those happened in poor water conditions. But this wasn't any of them! She hoped Dr. Fishman could help. She didn't want her fish to die.

Abby stopped screaming as soon as Astrid agreed to put her down. She waited as patiently she could while being held upside down. The winged girl moved towards a nearby building and dropped her.
Abby yelped as she fell the last few feet. She had saved her head from injury with her hands, but now her arms hurt like she had been treading water with them for hours. Abby rolled over, flipped the skirt of her dress over her legs and glared at Astrid. "What is your problem?"

Abby giggled as her friend raced out of her room and to the hall. She kept giggling as she followed and closed her door. "Let's go get the popcorn. Then we can watch the movie. Have you ever seen Treasure Planet?" she asked as she headed for the kitchen.

Abby could hear someone yell out. Then most of the feet stopped. Then a sound of something hitting the ground. She risked a chance and looked behind her. There was a girl at the other side of the group of men. Between Abby and the men... A body. A dead body. With blood pooling under it.
"You little, b****!" one of the men yelled. Green eyes jerked from the body to the group. She spotted a few baseball bats and crowbars within the group, nothing too dangerous. The men seemed to have forgotten her, so Abby moved to the side of the alley. Whatever the other girl did, she didn't want to end up like the man on the ground. Though it seemed like the girl was on her side. That was a good thing. Maybe.
As she moved, she spotted a few large rocks near her desired spot. She could use those. Maybe. She wasn't much of a fighter but the other girl looked younger than her. She wasn't going to leave her to face the people who were chasing her. Once to the rocks, she picked up one of them and weighed it in her hand. With a big gulp of air, she threw it with all her might at the group of men.

Suddenly Abby was in the air. Again. This time she didn't like nor care about why she was being carried. She screamed. Loud and shrill.
>>"Still want leave?"
She could see the cars below them. She stopped screaming. "You're crazy! Put me down! Gently!" she yelled at the winged girl. No way she could survive that fall. "Please!"

>>"...You will need to be gentle though, because she might just be doing her best, and it would be sad to hurt her feelings if she's just trying help, wouldn't it?"
Abby let him take the mixer as she thought about what he said. She should probably tell Aunt Teresa how she felt. Though she wasn't sure how to be gentle about it. She'd have to think about how to do that. She nodded absently to Cafas's question.
>>"Come on, we can eat and you can tell me about your mom if it'll make you feel better. I bet she was lovely, she raised you after all."
Her mommy. He wanted to know about her. "I don't remember a lot. She died several years ago," Abby admitted as she sit down. She remembered different things though. "I remember Mommy singing while we cleaned. She would put on music for anything. Sometimes she asked me to play the piano for her. She liked that a lot." Abby started on her meal. The steak was yummy.
"She smelled like oranges and rain," she remembered that all the time. It was why she liked the rain. "Daddy smelled like salt and coffee." She remembered those things better than others. "Daddy would dance with Mommy when he came home, if we still had music playing." She missed them. "What about your Mommy and Daddy? Do you remember them?"

The older and taller girl was a little scary all puffed up like that. But Abby stood her ground. She hadn't done anything wrong. Abby was innocent in all of this.
>>"They not take me. But you stuck."
Abby tilted her head, trying to figure out what the girl meant. She got the first part. Astrid could fly away. The part about her was what caught her. 'Stuck' could mean a lot of things. In context to Astrid being able to fly though...
"You have to land sometime. And who do you think they'd believe? The one who by all accounts took a little girl for no reason or the little girl that was taken and forced to do things she didn't want to? What will the cameras and eye-witnesses say?"

Abby had been really happy as she went out for the day. The Rally had been... something. She was just roaming the streets that day. She was hoping to see that things would return to normal or better. And they had been. For a bit.
As she moved through residential areas people recognized her from the rally and said hi or asked how she was. She had expected that. Cafas and a few older kids had all told her (at different times) that people would know her because of her actions at the rally. She didn't think about consequences when it happened, but she was happy that people seemed to take her request seriously.
She eventually left the residential areas. That was her first mistake. Her second was not realizing she was being followed until the person tried to grab her. She had given up keeping her jacket and bolted from whoever it was. She could hear a few slurs being thrown at her as she ran. She knew better than to turn to look at them. That would cost time.
She didn't know this area of New York well. But she did have a good sense of direction. She took several sharp turns in the alleyways to confuse whoever was following her, and made sure she was headed back to the residential area she started in. As she ran towards, hopefully, other people, she could hear whoever was following her gaining ground. She turned a corner quick as she could to try to by some more time.

>>"Stole clothes, remember? You run, I tell."
"An argument can be made that you kidnapped me," Abby stated. She stayed put. The girl had carried her to the store and the hotel. Then the hotel lady saw her held by Astrid. At the moment Abby looked like a victim.

Abby wasn't exactly sure who she was expecting when she set out to find a teacher. The man with fish features was not it. But he said he was Dr. Fishman. Suddenly nervous, she rung the hem of her shirt with her hands. "Um, I think," she paused to swallow. "IhavesomepetfishinmyroomandIthink one of them is sick."
There! She said it. Hopefully he wouldn't get on to her for having the fish in her room. She liked Minerva and Dagr and all her guppies.

Abby giggled as her wolf friend moved into her room. Seemed he wanted to spend some time with her. "I'm going to get some popcorn for the movie. Want to stay here or go with?" she asked. She kept an eye on him as he moved around her room. Most things were put away so she wasn't too worried.
