The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Thoughts of returning to the mansion almost always filled her head. She wanted to go back, but she was afraid she wouldn’t be accepted after the things she had done after she had left there. Yet still, she missed her friends and the teachers she had gotten to know. The mansion was a comfortable and safe place. The real world was much colder and more dangerous. Sadly, she had helped it become more dangerous.
It took a great deal of courage for her, but she managed to summon the strength to return to the place she once called home.
As usual there were less people roaming around late at night as the blonde-haired girl entered the mansion. She walked the halls curiously wondering if anything had changed during her absence. She also wondered if anyone would notice her as she was a creature of the night and normally didn’t see many people anyway.

Yawning, Abby made her way back to her room from Adder's. Another movie night had ended in cuddling. Again. But Abby had woken up due to her wolf friend's roommate. And couldn't get back to sleep. Her sleep-addled mind equated silence with empty room, so she was slowly making her way to her bedroom. Yawning and shuffling her feet to get her there. Something caught her eye and she looked around the hallway.
There was a girl. Older than Abby, surely. Rubbing her eyes, the little blonde looked again. The girl didn't look familiar. "Are you looking for a place to sleep?" she asked with a yawn.

Passing through the halls brought back memories. She remembered playing a song in the living room, meeting other residents of the mansion like Serena and Kaitlyn, her teachers Nate and Sam. She even recalled being flung out the second floor window by Mile’s dogs. While that ended up being a harmless accident part of her actually thought it was fun. She giggled to herself.
Turning down another hallway Victoria stopped as she came face to face with another girl. She was shorter and younger looking as well as sleepy. The girl’s question was received with a nervous figit. “Umm, I used to stay here but I don’t know if my room is still mine. I’ve been gone a while.” Victoria tried to verbally side step the girl while pondering going to her old room to see if it had been reclaimed. “Shouldn’t you be in bed? Don’t you have class or something in the morning?

Abby just blinked at the older girl. Used to live here? The little blonde's mind worked slowly at the moment, but she eventually understood what the other girl meant.
"If you don' know, you can stay in my room. I don't have roommate." Another big yawn interrupted her. "You can find out in the morning if ya want." Without thinking further, because really, she was tired, Abby reached for the older girl's hand to show her to Abby's room.

With her questions to the smaller girl going unanswered Victoria found herself being taken by the hand along with a gesture to follow the girl to her room. Victoria was glad to know there wasn’t a roommate as that might become even more awkward to deal with. Still, it was kind of the girl to offer a place to stay at least temporarily.
Walking with little girl Victoria added a note. “I’m not very tired so I probably won’t go to sleep for a while. I can see you’re tired though. You should get some sleep.”

Abby was happy the older girl didn't protest. Her brain was starting to go back to sleep after all. Arguing would be hard with sleepy-brain. Pulling the older girl along to her room. The little blonde was happy she had taken to keeping the extra bed in her room made. It helped remind her to change the sheets. Right now the spare bed had a dark blue sheet set on it. Her bed had a lilac set.
Abby hummed as she got into her bed. "Mkay. If you need me, you can wake me up. Morrow's a holiday," she explained before the sandman finished his job.
A little smile stuck on Victoria’s face as the younger girl guided her to the room. Then as if on autopilot the younger girl made her way to bed as sleep began taking over her. Victoria stood there in the room for a moment watching her little hostess go to dreamland then looked around the room quietly for the next few hours. Eventually as the night was getting ready to turn to day she got comfortable and slipped under the covers of the second bed covering herself completely as she let herself relax and drift off to sleep.

Abby dreamed of forests and owls that talked and ladies in lakes. It was all very strange. Though while dreaming it wasn't strange. Dream logic. But as she woke up from her dream, the little sharkmaid realized the strangeness of her dream.
She stretched in her bed. She could kind of remember walking to her room after waking up at Adder's. Which was good. Sometimes she didn't even remember that much of her movie nights with her brother. But... there was something itching at her about the last night.
Sitting up she looked around her room. There was... someone in the other bed. Or at least there was something causing a bump in the bedding. Slipping out of her bed, she tried to remember where the other person came from. There weren't any bags that she could see that would indicate she was getting a roommate. So who was it and where did they come from?
As she made her bed, Abby tried to remember her walk to her room. The only thing she could really remember is telling Adder she was just going to bed and then leaving the room. Then... sleep. That's all she remembered. But her instincts weren't yelling at her to run or anything like that so the other person wasn't a threat. Most likely.
Sitting on her now made bed, she looked back at her dream. Sometimes things bled over into her dreams from reality. She could remember the few times she thought her dreams were just dreams but gave her clues to her sleepy adventures. In her dream, the talking owl had been looking for her nest which she had left due to the lady in the lake asking for help finding her sister who had been lost in the forest. So from that... either the person in the other bed was looking for someone or they were looking for a place to rest.
Hopping off her bed, Abby went to check on the person in the other bed. "Morning," she called before poking the person. "Are you getting up?"

Victoria wasn’t dreaming, at least not that she knew of. No, she was passed out sleeping. More like practically dead to the world sleeping. It felt so nice to be in a comfy bed and not having to worry about hiding from people. Before coming back to the mansion, Victoria would sleep wherever she could. Sometimes it was in cars or in people’s homes if she had fed on them. She always left as soon as she could though to avoid being caught or getting in trouble.
But now she was in a safe place. A place she was more or less familiar with. She would get a good rest…if she wasn’t suddenly being poked. She stirred a little and groaned in a leave me alone and let me sleep sort of tone. Couldn’t a person just sleep if they wanted to?

Whoever she had let into her room, they weren't getting up just from her poking them a bit. Giving up with that avenue, she went to her window. Usually she kept the curtains somewhere at half open for sunlight. Right now they were closed though. Taking a hold of one of the curtains, Abby pulled it all the way open before getting the other side.
"Wakey, wakey," she called as the early morning light shined into her room.

The bed was nice and comfortable, the blankets were soft and provided an excellent feeling of security. The pillow was amazing as it was both soft yet supportive. Victoria could sleep here for a long time. It was soo nice.
Yet, there was still one problem. She had been poked at and now someone was calling out something. It wasn’t like this the last time she had stayed in the mansion. Then again, she had her own room all to herself. She might have to see about doing that again if it was possible.

Frowning at the lump on the bed, Abby tried to think of how to wake her guest. Poking didn't work. The light didn't work. What else could she do?
She had a vague idea that she needed to get an adult. Why she did, the little blonde wasn't sure. Maybe the person on her bed? Moving back over to the bed, she tried poking again.
"Didn't you wanna talk to someone?" she asked, poking a little harder than before.
More pokes. Pokes make sleeping harder to do, doesn’t everyone know that? Shouldn’t they know that? The bed is all nice and comfy and made for sleeping. Day time is for sleeping, especially when you’re up all night.

Frowning at the lump, Abby went for her final and most effective technique. One her mommy had used many mornings on her. Moving to the foot of the bed, she grabbed the blankets and pulled. The comforter can all the way to the bottom of the bed, but she only managed to bring the sheet halfway. Not as good as mommy, but should be enough to wake someone up.
A moment of peace? Was she going to be able to relax and fall back asleep fully? Things had calmed down. No more poking, no voices calling out. A deep relaxing breath and now a smooth journey back to sleep land.
That would have been nice anyway. However, it was not the course of action that took place. Instead it was the age old ‘pull the covers off the bed’ trick. It was surely the nastiest trick ever pulled on someone who was sleeping. It had to have been devised by a parent, but now it was so well known that anyone could do it. And so now it was being done to Victoria.
The covers were pulled and let the light and warmth of the sun shine from the window to the bed right on Victoria. A second after the sunlight touched her exposed skin on her face and arms the areas started to turn red. It was just like a sunburn, but this was turning more red very quickly and another second or two was followed by searing pain. Victoria’s eyes shot open as she screamed at the top of her lungs. It hurt soo much and she was in shock not knowing what happened. She tried to get away from the light and in doing so exposed more skin on her other arm. More pain! She did her best to crash to the floor and crawl under the bed to escape the death rays. She screamed again as sun touched her legs in the process.
Huddling in a fetal position under the bed she cried. So much pain and it wasn’t going away. She had never been exposed to the sun until now. Her family curse was terrifyingly real. Most of her arms and face were red as well as parts of her legs. “Please make it stop” she whimpered and sobbed.
