Who the Mods Are

The Mod Team

All global moderators check the <MutantRevolver@gmail.com> account, and share in the responsibilities for all Modly duties. Other colors denote special duty mods who do not deal with applications, apprentice moderators, or the The Mod Team account, which is a shared account used only for site maintenance.

Retired & Inactive Mods
Some Mods had to leave for RL reasons, some Mods retired to focus back on their posting; whatever the reason, we thank them all for helping keep MRO running all these years. It's on their shoulders that the current Mod Team stands. <3

How the Mod Team Works

The MRO Moderators are a team, where all members are equal--Global Mods are just Global Mods because they need to affect the site coding, not because their opinion counts for more. In order to act as our own watchdogs (and to make sure multiple Mods aren't spamming members over the same issue without realizing it o.O) we post all of our communications with players on the Mod Board, where the other members of the team can view them. When you're talking to one of us, you're pretty much talking to all of us. On that note: communications with the Mod Team are confidential. Only the Mods will read them, and what happens on the Mod Board stays on the Mod Board.

For small concerns, such as resizing your avatar/sig, editing a post, answering a simple question you sent us, etc, it's likely that one Mod will be able to act quickly in PMing/replying to you.

For large concerns, a single Mod may not be able to reply to you without consulting with the rest of the team: in order to make our rulings as fair as possible, we frequently discuss things together to examine issues and reach a consensus on them before replying. This can take a few days. Contrary to our united public image, we can be quite opinionated behind the scenes.

If you're not clear on how we reached a ruling, you may certainly ask us about it. Please be aware that full team rulings are generally final, however, since they were made for good reasons and agreed to by all the active Mods. In all situations, we try to do what's best for MRO as a whole. This may not always be what's best for any single member, regrettably, as in the case of bannings.

On that note: we like MRO. We assume everyone playing here does, too. For that reason, we don't take suspensions/bannings lightly. If a member is doing something wrong, we'll try to resolve the issue through PMs first, and offer as many 'second chances' as we can: suspensions and bannings are an extreme measure that have rarely, rarely been used in MRO's history. A banning takes a unanimous vote from all active Mods.

The Mod Board of DOOM

This is the Mods-only board where we discuss major site concerns, iron out the details of approved site-wide plots, and toss around ideas for improving the site. It's not as scary as it looks. We just occasionally have things to discuss that the entire site shouldn't be able to follow like a gossip column; the Mod Board lets us keep player concerns confidential.

PS: Rumors of Mod cookies, Mod brandy, and a Mod private masseuse are greatly exaggerated. It's not awesome in there. You're not missing anything. At all. >.>

New Mod Selection

As older Mods retire/go inactive, and as MRO grows, the need for new Moderators arises. When it does, the current Team will send a "call out" for new Mod applications. 

I'm afraid that outside of call outs, we do not accept applications for new Mods. If you'd like to help the site as a Mod, start by helping the site as a player. What MRO needs most are active, dedicated members. Coincidentally, that's one of the key factors we look for when choosing new Mods.
