The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Personality: Three words: SPOILED, ROTTEN BRATS. Rebellious and bitter from being bullied as youngsters; they are used to getting what they want, by whatever means necessary. They don’t talk much, except with each other (one-sided conversations, since Vibe is mute), and when they do they are rude and sarcastic, especially to authority figures. They also try to intimidate by staring, which can be extremely unnerving to most people, due to their eye color. They don’t trust anyone except each other, and they know how to hold a grudge. They feel no need to exert themselves for anyone, unless, of course, it benefits them in some way.
Up until recently, they were also over-confident in their abilities, having yet to meet an obstacle they couldn't easily overcome. Once the Stalkers appeared, however, their attitudes changed drastically. Because of their situations, they're once identical personalities have begun to differ. Having once been inseparable and strong together, they've now been forced to face their fears and weaknesses, and overcome them, alone. Vibe is beginning to grow more confident in her own powers, and is actually starting to 'grow up' and realize that not everyone is an enemy. Amp, on the other hand, is becoming hard and bitter towards humanity, and men in particular, and suspicious. Because of her circumstances, she's keeping it all bottled up inside, turning her into a ticking time bomb.
Notes: Amp is deaf; Vibe is mute. Also, they have a pet bat name Echo that can usually be found hiding in one or the other’s pocket. Vibe can call to him, and Amp can ‘hear’ his echolocation. Also, both love the water and dolphins (for obvious reasons).
Hobbies: Getting what they want, which usually involved luxury, chaos, or both.
Phobias: Because of their abilities, both have Spacephobia (Fear of outer space; Despite what Star Wars wants you to think, there is no sound in space (vacuum) lol) Also, both have Arachnaphobia (fear of spiders.)
Quirks: Both are Type II Diabetic (no shots needed), and always seem to be snacking on something.
Side (good, bad, or neutral): Usually neutral. For the most part they are mischief makers, on a grand scale. Lately though Amp is leaning toward bad, and Vibe staying more neutral
Everyday clothing: Vibe is more feminine, preferring skirts and dresses, while Amp goes more for slacks and shorts; both wear a lot of gold and green, in different shades. Both girls wear gold chains with matching pendants; on the front is each girl's initial, on the back is the diabetic symbol. Vibe's now has an electronic 'voice', allowing her to 'speak.'
Uniform (optional;if you become an X-Man, your uniform will receive an X-Men logo): “Uniforms? Please. We don’t ‘do’ uniforms.”
Pajamas: “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Hair color and style: Red (think copper); Amp’s is usually shoulder-length, worn loose, while Vibe’s is longer, worn in various styles. (Amp's is long now, being in the camps, making the two look even more alike.) Eye color: Bright green (almost glow-in-dark type green; very unnerving) Height: 5' 3 Build: Petite, slim (think gymnist)
Scars: Faint scar along back left(Amp)/front right(Violet) of the hip and leg from separation surgery Tattoos: None Piercings: Double-pierced ears
Description of ability(ies): Vibe can create and emit sound vibrations through her hands and feet. She can ‘talk’ to her sister using her fingers and any solid surface (i.e., table, book, stone, etc.) (they are NOT telepathic), as well as call their pet bat, Echo. Amp can ‘hear’, amplify and direct her sister’s sound vibrations, resulting in a number of attacks (i.e., intensified to blast through walls, general amplifying to create a ‘soundquake’, intensified and directed to temporarily deafen someone, etc.), as well as ‘hear’ Echo’s calls. Amp can also throw her voice, like a ventriloquist, to make you think she’s somewhere else. Their abilities are amplified in water or rain, and most loud noises have no affect on them. Both girls can sense normal, everyday vibrations as well, making it almost impossible to sneak up on them.
Vibe has developed her own power as well, an ability to mildly hypnotize a person. The person is susceptible to suggestion during, and for a short time after (just a few minutes atm) hearing the tone.
Amp is also developing a new mutation, called "Mimic". Her bones absorb sound vibrations from sources other than her sister, and replays them exactly through her mouth. This allows nearly everything from the mimicking of general noises, such as cats meowing and a car zooming off, to replicating someone's voice patterns exactly. In essence she becomes a sound effects generator. However, there is a drawback: what is 'mimicked' cannot be altered (i.e., a shout is replayed as a shout, a whisper replays as a whisper). Sentance structure also cannot be altered (i.e., if Amp 'mimics' someone saying "I see you," she cannot replay it as "You I see"). (Updated 11/2/07)[/i]
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): Their main abilities only work with each other’s abilities; Although Amp can hear any sound vibrations, she can’t amplify or manipulate any sound vibration except her sister’s. Vibe can only create sound vibrations, and very low in decibels, so on her own she can’t really cause any harm. Although rain increases their abilities, thunderstorms give them a sort of echo effect, resulting in migraine headaches, which can scramble their attacks. Sort of like sensory overload.
Fighting style (if any): Sneaky. Neither are good at up close fighting, so they try to keep their distance or hide, and fight dirty if need be.
History of your character: Born as Siamese twins, Amanda and Viola were joined at the hip, literally. They were separated within the first few weeks of life. They showed their mutant abilities from birth, but everyone passed it off as ‘Twin Telepathy’. Eventually it was discovered that Amanda was deaf, and Viola was mute. Viola’s powers manifested first. It seemed that, whenever Viola needed something (food, diaper change, etc.) Amanda was the one who would cry. Actually, Viola was making sound vibrations that her sister could ‘hear’ and understand. As they grew, Amanda learned to read lips and control her voice, with her sister’s help, so it was nearly impossible to tell she was deaf. The full extent of Amanda’s amplifying powers manifested in school, when a group of bullies separated the twins and tried to beat them up. Amanda ‘heard’ her sister’s vibrations, and intensified them in a sound blast. The group of bullies ended up in the hospital, and all but two lost 50 to 75 percent of their hearing. A combination of the usual bullying for being handicapped and short, combined with anti-mutant demonstrations left the twins rebellious and bitter, and at age 17 they left home, eventually making their way to New York, causing chaos and confusion wherever they went, and enjoying every minute of it.
Recent History: Not long after joining the Order, Amp and Vibe were involved in the Raid on the Sanctuary. The pair were attacked by Stalkers and separated; Amp was captured while Vibe managed to get away.
Vibe joined the Resistance, and is currently living at Mondragon Labs with the rest of the Refugees. During this time she's developed her hypnotic power, dodged Stalkers, and generally caused her usual havoc. However, her attitude has toned down a bit, as she's learning that not everyone is out to get her. Thanks to Doc J (Gearhead) she has been fitted with an electronic voice, allowing her to talk almost normally now. She's taken up a hobby of song writing as well.
In the Camps, Amp has learned the true meaning of the word 'torture'. Unable to hear anything, her silent world has become a living nightmare. At first she fought tooth and nail, which landed her more often than not in Isolation. She's grown weak because of the lack of food and the sedatives given the inmates, and because of this, one guard was able to break her spirit by raping her. Since then she's turned into little more than an animal, hardly speaking, and keeping her distance from nearly everyone, especially the humans. She's far from meek, but self-preservation and a thirst for revenge has taken over her persona now. She is slowly becoming both a human-hater and a man-hater. She's also deathly afraid of becoming pregnant.

Sample RP: The noise of the club was one decibel below deafening, with a steady BUMP-diddy-BUMP shaking the floor. Dancers on the floor bounced in a mass movement of sweat and skin. Strobe lights overhead gave the scene an disco/sci-fi flair that only appealed to the rebellious teen scene. A group of four male bodies pulled away from the general mass and made their way toward the nearest bar, and the red-headed pair leaning against the edge. One of the gentlemen, if you want to dub him that, grinned widely, showing a jawful of gold teeth.
“Well, lookie here fellas! Got us a matched set.” He put an arm around the nearest girl’s shoulders. “Hey there, Red. What’d they call you, darlin’?” The other three pressed in closely, locking the two girls in the middle.
The two girls looked hardly old enough to be in high school, let alone a nightclub. The first girl looked at him, a goofyish grin on her pale face. Beside her, her twin also grinned stupidly. “Who, me?” the first one asked innocently. She pushed a lock of short, copper-colored hair behind her ear. “I’m Amp. This is Vibe. We’re the Sonic Sisters.”
The four guys erupted in loud, rude laughter, the first guy being loudest. He hit her shoulder, harder than was polite or even impolte. “Sonic Sisters? That’s rich! Sounds like a bad band name Ha ha!”
“Yeah, I know!” Amp cackled just as loud. “It’s a blast, ain’t it?” Suddenly the grin, and goofiness, was gone, replaced by something just short of pure hatred. Her voice turned to ice.“Wait ‘till you hear our music.”
A high-pitched squeal, like the feedback of a microphone but ten times worse, stabbed through the jerks’ heads. The guys slapped their hands over their ears, trying vainly to block out the screech, and screaming in pain. It only took a few seconds before they were on the floor, whimpering in pain. Nearby partiers looked on in surprise, but no one did anything to help, passing it off as drug use, or something of the like. Besides, they couldn’t hear the feedback squeal; only the four had to endure the torture. The twins shared an expressionless smirk. In sync they downed their shots, set the glasses down, and stretched. As Vibe began to walk away, Amp leaned down to Mr. Goldteeth.
“By the way,” she said loudly, though he could no longer hear, “I ain’t yer ‘darlin’.” Then she stood and followed her sister out. Vibe turned, arms crossed, to look at her. She tapped lightly with one finger on the gold armband around her upper arm. Amp tilted her head slightly, and nodded. “Yeah, I’m in a good mood. They got off easy.” Vibe tapped again. Amp shrugged. “Nah, I’ll pass on the dancing. Can’t hear anythin’ but the beat anyway. Let’s step.” Vibe rolled her eyes, and tapped a third time, a comment which Amp conveniently ignored.[/color]
Personality: In the past 10 years, their personalities had begun to differ from each other. Because of this, while they are still close, they are not necessarily friends anymore.
Vibe is much more easy going and confident than she used to be. She’s still rebellious, still a bit bratty and sarcastic, but much, much less rude and antagonistic. She’s definitely ‘grown up’.
Amp has developed a truly dark side; she's become a 'Black Widow', a woman who uses her charms to prey on men in a number of ways, before discarding them like trash. She never totally recovered from the trauma in the Registration Camps, and her attitude and actions reflect it. She is distrustful of humanity as a whole, and hateful of most males, mutant or human. She’s developed a hardened, self-centered personality, waaaaaay beyond ‘brat’ to ‘me first, and me only’. Most men that have the unfortunate luck to happen across her at a nightclub or bar don't live to regret it.
Notes: The girls have been healed of their ‘deformities’, so both can hear and speak normally.
Hobbies: Shopping. Vibe also enjoys singing and writing, while Amp prefers to simply listen.
Side (good, bad, or neutral): Amp is all bad now, while Vibe is neutral.
Everyday clothing: Same as always. Vibe is more feminine, preferring skirts and dresses, while Amp goes more for slacks and shorts; both wear a lot of gold and green, in different shades. Both girls wear gold chains with matching pendants; on the front is each girl's initial, on the back is the diabetic symbol.
Uniform (optional;if you become an X-Man, your uniform will receive an X-Men logo): “Uniforms? Please. We don’t ‘do’ uniforms.”
Pajamas: “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Hair color and style: Red (think copper); Amp’s is usually shoulder-length or shorter, worn loose, while Vibe’s is longer, worn in various styles. Eye color: Bright green (almost glow-in-dark type green; very unnerving) Height: 5' 3 Build: Petite, slim (think gymnist) They still look like teenagers, even though they’re almost 30.
Scars: Faint scar along back left(Amp)/front right(Violet) of the hip and leg from separation surgery Tattoos: None Piercings: Double-pierced ears
Description of ability(ies): Vibe can create and emit sound vibrations through her hands and feet. She can ‘talk’ to her sister using her fingers and any solid surface (i.e., table, book, stone, etc.) (they are NOT telepathic). She can ‘sing’ a mildly hypnotic song, that hypnotizes a person. The person is susceptible to suggestion during, and for a few minutes after hearing the tone. She also uses this ability in a non-nefarious way, allowing herself to sing in perfect pitch, volume and harmony, in any octave she desires. In otherwords, she’s the perfect singer.
Amp can ‘hear’, amplify and direct her sister’s sound vibrations, resulting in a number of attacks (i.e., intensified to blast through walls, general amplifying to create a ‘soundquake’, intensified and directed to temporarily deafen someone, etc.). Amp can also throw her voice, like a ventriloquist, to make you think she’s somewhere else. She can also Mimic , absorbing sound vibrations from sources other than her sister, and replay them exactly through her mouth. This allows nearly everything from the mimicking of general noises, such as cats meowing and a car zooming off, to replicating someone's voice patterns exactly.
Together they’ve developed an interesting new ability as well. Through use of a sliver of Vibranium metal worn around her neck, Amp can store Vibe’s vibrations (depending on use) for up to a month, for use at will. With this she is able to do as her sister, and create ‘sonic clones’. Soundwaves take on a solid, physical appearance of whichever girl creates them. They can make the clones speak in their voice, and the clones can perform minor deeds (ie, open a door).
As always, their abilities are amplified in water or rain, and most loud noises have no affect on them. Both girls can sense normal, everyday vibrations as well, making it almost impossible to sneak up on them.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): As always, their main abilities only work with each other’s abilities, though the vibranium allows Amp to fight without being close to her sister. However, eventually she uses up the vibrations, and must return to Vibe to ‘recharge’. Vibe, on her own, can’t really cause any harm. The ‘sonic clones’ have no mental structure, and can only do what they are told. Their physical presence is minor, and thus can only perform minor tasks. For example, they can open or close a door, but they can’t pull it off the hinges and throw it at someone. They are also only effective up to 50 feet. After that, they lose connections with the Twins, and dissipate. Although rain increases their abilities, thunderstorms give them a sort of echo effect, resulting in migraine headaches, which can scramble their attacks. Sort of like sensory overload.
Fighting style (if any): Amp isn't very subtle when she delivers a killing blow, preferring to literally shake apart her victim from the inside out. In order to do this though, she has to first find a way to immobilize her victim, since she's so small. That can be done in a variety of ways, from poisoning to crippling. Either way, it isn't pretty. She uses sound masking to keep any screaming from being heard.
Vibe isn’t much of a fighter anymore, but when she does join her sister, they are the same as always: sneaky. Neither are good at up close fighting, so they try to keep their distance or hide, and fight dirty if need be.
