The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura liked the sound of camping over all it sounded like how she had lived much of what she still remembered. Forests made life pretty easy, you could hunt a verity of animals, you could hide or lay am ambush easily. Aura would make sure to learn the area somewhat before much else. SHe had been shot at in the woods quite often already, or at least shot at she mentally corrected herself. SLinging a pack over her shoulder, Aura took one last look, Her pet skunk sleapt lazily on the bed completely uninterested in going any ware.
Aura had no idea what she might do on the trip other then hunt though she was quite excited that their would be deer and other animals to take down though. Human pray with in many ways less of a challenge. Deer were quicker and heavier animals and could hurt someone which lacked protection. She soon found the vehicle they would be using and slipped into it by amber. Aura put her pack in the cargo Area, ajusting the hilt to lay flat on her sword.
"Like going home" Aura said thinking about the woods. She still thought of the forests in the north as her home, whaere she cad come from. Though she expected this forest to be far quiter then her old one and more excitingly to Aura, other mutants would be thare to talk with. Aura also liked the idea Amber would be surrounded by her brethren should anything happen. SHe was about to close the door when a famillyer black and white animal lept in and onto her lap. "Decided to come after all kitty?" she said petting the skunk with a smile.
Aura filled with Pride at Tasean's words, true he had been wounded but he was alive and that certainly put him ahead on many she had known. "Well let's just hope the Humans don't pull anything further" She said hoping they would leave him alone but she figured their would be more trouble. Humans tended to linger on these things when left alive and she did not want to see his organization in danger. The guy did not seem like much in a dance if the fight had been a fair indicator.
Aura had no idea of the Business details of things and was relieved when this did not fall into it. "Yes it was sad to see such a mutant leave" she said genuinely The healers power was awsome and she recalled many times visiting the medicle wing and seeing him, though she still made frequent visits, the Unicorn man rarely seemed to visit if he did at all.
"N-no Ma'am, he had only just arrived, and i had planned to" She said honestly. The sudden Attention on her and given her a slight start. More so because her thoughts had waiverd away for a moment. "Provided your schedule allows such a thing" She said to Tesean, wanting to make sure he had the time, though it had sounded like he did. "Sanctuary has living quarters, a training room, a kitchen with staff,a library and of course a medical area as well" She explained, she had played the role of guide many times now. She let her Aura fade untill it was gone entirely.
"I see, it sounds like you could do quite a bit with that, their are certainly many mutants who need help around here. Heck when i came back to this place i ended up getting tossed out of the Apartment i rented. Had i not been caught stealing i likely would not have found this place for awhile. " SHe said for the first time or at least in as long as she could recall she thought about how things might have changed had frosty not found her out.
Aura was about to comment on Tasean's powers but Lori chose that moment to arrive. She stood with pride as the man complimented her work. She still felt bad he had gotten hurt, but the real thing was he was safe and alive. "No one died either" Aura said though she had wanted to. Aura's hoped the man would inspire other mutants to rise up and establish more such agencys.
Aura hoped she forged a good working bond with Tasean and Lori. Mutants needed the kind of Life, Tasean's work seemed to provide. That would never be hers, a life of quite normalcy. Still if not her then someone else would have to fight, it was what she was good at. Aura also decided to keep a few comments on the Humans in her head. Aura had no idea the amount that was even on the check or what it took to feed a baby. She looked around and was grateful for what she had been given.
"it's fine Tasean, i am no good at the formal stuff either. " She said with a smile back to him. "I can see what i can do on Getting you her" She said to him and then walked over to the desk with the Tag Lisa on it "This guys runs a mutant social service thing" she said though it was evident in her voice she really had no idea what that was. "He wants to meet the boss lady" she continued and Lisa seemed to understand use to the teenagers nuances.
"I once again wish to apologize for leaving the fight early. It is best however the Humans do not know i was thare, i would not want my reputation soiling your cause." she said almost casually. Aura was not ashamed of her past but she was smart enough to realize the poor reputation she had among the local police. "To be honest im not quite sure what it is you do" she said with a shrug. "I just know it a foundation our people need to move forward and to establish ourselfs" she said leaving out the part about killing humans. She had no idea how the guy felt on them.
"So, i never got to ask what your power is" She said and as she did she took a step back and her Aura thickened and she began to form Angles in the Aura. Aura then smiled and formed a drill around her right hand which soon after began to spin. The Drill then began to loose it's shape and melted back into the rest of the Aura around her Body. "I Love hearing and seeing new powers, our people all have such unique gifts" she said as her Aura faded back to a thin strip.
"I believe you did give your name or Andrew did, but my memory fails me when it comes to names" She admitted. Try as she might she almost always resorted to referring to people by names that described them to Aura usually their powers or situation. A few cases like Meld had managed to stick in her mind quite well. Aura eyes looked past Tasean, she trusted the mutant but still she wnated to make sure Humans were not intending to follow him.
"It is no trouble, i enjoy helping out other Mutants whare i can. I enjoy a good fight as well, though it was very hard to restrain myself when the Humans struck you. Despite my reputation i like helping others." She said honestly. Still she decided to refrain from openly saying the hard part to the fight had been not killing anyone. "Becides you got hurt despite my presence, i figured the humans would react poorly to your idwa, we can only hope they will give up" She said wishing she had found a name to any of the people she had fought.
"Come on in, Sanctuary welcomes all mutants you may just find many us, interested in your ideas. I DO not know what you have heard of our home, but we are a Mutant shelter. We take in any mutant who wishes to live here and since their are no Humans, we can live in comfort with our own" she said her voice displayed her pride in the the place. "The Donation was from Sanctuary, i can contact our CEO if you like about that. They sent me because we figured the humans would pull something and they wanted someone use to combat and Immune to normal mob attacks" she said with a giggle at the end.
Aura had stayed in the building for while before she had made her escape. She had felt bad about ducking out of the fight early, but she had been afraid of incurring Lori's anger. SHe was sure people had mentioned the Mutant with the pink Aura but as long as their was no actual proof she figured she was good. Plus she had not brought home a frustrating powerful mutant on her tail. No after Tasean had gone to the Hospital things had gotten quite.
She had hoped the Mutant founder guy was ok, she could not quite recall his name, so with a shrug of her shoulders she decided Founder would work for the time being. The real thing Aura was proud of was despite the temptation to watch Humans try sky dive thirty stories, she had refrained from killing anyone at all. Aura shook her head as she looked at the doors, waiting to see any new mutants who might be arriving. It was then she heard a knock on the door.
Aura Stood up and walked over to the doors, she let her Aura cover her in a soft pink glow as she went, she thought seeing a mutant answer might help some to feel more comfortable. As Aura opened the Doors, she wa ssuprised to see the Founder guy she had been thinking about. "Hey Founder guy, i was just thinking of ya, Hows the head?" she asked waving for him to come in. She was happy to see he was all right, it meant she had done the job, she had been strong enough.
"Not about being an issue it would just be annoying to stand at the gate and never have anyone answer the thing. You could just walk through the place room by room until you find her office and wait" she suggested. The plan would work. Mama had to return to a bedroom or office and once she came in she would notice Seyta right away. "Like here i'm quite sure the mansion is use to strange things happening though you might scare her" she said with a laugh.
"Well today they got you Ice cream and a friend and even some relief and shiny rocks" she said of the gems and Mama. Now that i think about you probably saved my tail, i was asked to refrain from taking out humans in public and had i not run into you" she said nervously. "I can't drive but i can guide you through the city to the mansion" she offered though she failed to mention she useually stuck to the alleyways.
It was about then a Large Black and white Skunk jumped onto Aura's lap, it took a quick taste of Aura's ice cream and jolted back from it. "I don't think ice cream is meant for cats" she said to the skunk who took another lick and jolted back again from the cold. Aura simplt shugged and took a bite of her ice cream. "This is Solkat" she said though for a breif few moments her attention waivored. It was hard keeping seyta in her mind when shifting herr atention at all she reminded herself.
"I am sure you will Sister" She said having confidence in Amber. Though Amber was afraid to kill, Aura figured as it had with her this would fade and the issue would be solved. She was confident the humans would do something foolish enough to invoke her. For now however she would not force it, after all secret groups had a habit of not wnating police intervention which meant she could play. It had been so long since she had been able to simply fight and kill. The thought of the last human massacre she had helped in reminded her of Meld, her heart sank just a bit at the thought of her lost friend.
"You are right, their is far more to life then the dance" Her wand waived to the room around them. "That is why i was taught to craft furniture however........You are right though learning more of this place would help a lot.." SHe said with a sigh, shaking her head. "In the forest life was so much simpler. You woke, you ate you trained and every few days fought off some Humans went to sleep and began the cycle over.......But it just does not work like that here" She said of the cycle, her Sister was right maybe it was time for her to expand. "Im sure their is much we learn from each other" she said.
"Last time i drove, Me and the red guy ended up in some lady's pool. If nothing else im sure we can get Sanctuary staff to drive us or find someone here that does not mind a bit of fun" She said the idea she might get to open up on this mission had her excited. "I must admit despite thoughts of more normal hobbies, i really do love a good dance" She said, reminding herself a moment later they were going because her sister had been abducted.
"She bent down as she saw Solkat walk out from under the bed looking rather hungrily at the box with the feeder mice. Aura instead cut a small piece from the lynx meat and set it before the Skunk. The Skunk nibbled at it and quickly went back to looking at the box. Aura Opened it grabbed a mouse and set it on the floor and let the Skunk chase it, even as she cut the rest of the meet into thinner slives, useing her Aura saw as a kind of meat slicer. "You wnat some?" she offerd Amber a plate.
"you don't have to kill Sister, we all serve our people as best we think we can. Those fools at the mansion maybe naive, but when our people take their rightful place it may be minds like that we need and like your own. People Like me know only combat and bloodhsed, in a world without anything to fight, i would be lost" she admitted. She had for some time realized as much as she ahted the humans she needed them to have a reason to exists.
She understood Ambers reluctance to kill. It was an option she never really had until long after killing had become common to her. "it is important remember that nature gave us the gifts it thought we could use best. It would not have given us that which was useless or without reason. "Helping others is a noble endeavor and i can understand your reluctance to kill and i hope your path allowes you never to have to make that choice." she said hoping her sister really would not need to.
"Good, do well on this mission i will recommend you to our Leader to become a member. SHe might even wnat to see if you can't put a leash on me" she said with a grin. It was a joke it had been some time since Aura had been on the news, at least four months. "We go when your ready, Sister after the sun goes down for both our sakes" She said making her way across her room. "U said somthing about a dagger right?" she asked pulling out first a box with a number of rats incide, her put skunk, Solkat which she still figured was a type of cat, and finnaly a small box with at least a dozen daggers in it, some still had dried blood on them and some were half broke. "it's amazing what a gnag member or two carry, i got pistols to if you like. I am no good with the things" she said shaking her head.
"What i am about to say should not be repeated. Abyss is also of the order, a member long before i ever found the place. The Order and the X-men both fight for mutant kind but our methods are much different. The Order fight for Mutant supremacy and to stand for those mutants who would otherwise be in danger. Have you ever noticed the high population of mutants in this neighborhood?" SHe asked her sister knowing it was high because a number of humans had sold their homes to get away from protection fees. "The real difference is, The Order knows these humans who harm our kind will get off lightly and likely harm more mutants. whare the x-men would let those same humans harm mutants again and again, the order has a more permanent solution" She said with a smile, though mentally she swore at herself for slipping.
"They don't like me at the mansion because my criminal record is big enough to wall paper the place. I may have sent a few people from the place to their infirmary as well. I won't lie to you Sister, i have killed a great many people and more then likely a few more in the days to come" She said as she walked to the far end of her room and picked up the lone picture in the room, The picture was burned in places and had several bad creases, but their were a number of girls in the picture.
"I watched the humans kill every one of them and many others, threaten baby mutants with obvious mutant traits. I watched Mutants get attacked just for minding their own business. Still the Order prefers non-lethal methods where we can. The Order is a good place, they even give me a chance, they know We are no monsters but those denied normal lifes by humans. The fight for our people is not glamorous but one day our children will rise and know nothing of the fear we endured for them" She said her voice having pride in it at the end.
"The Order is as much a secret as it can be and so only people who seem ready are told it is thare. You just never seemed the type" She said honetly. She felt bad having kept the order from amber but it had to be done.
"Well to be honest untill i met you, i had no idea what one was so no. However that is an excellent idea, it could work very well" she said approvingly. She liked the idea but had never considerd it up until this point. Still if Amber could change into somthing big enough, they could well get the jump on would be guards. I also meant they could cover more ground and she could scout the area. Amber had confirmed they had guns which told Aura either they would come after amber again or they would grab another mutant, much as she suspected.
"Good, I am not popular thare" she said with the shake of her head. SHe had even called the emergency lines to get them their medical attention. Still even Frosty had seemed quite keep on getting her out the door. Some people took things much to personal in her opinion. Still the scientists were human and would not require medical assistance ever. "People can take things to personally" she said having to think for a moment to find the right phrase.
"Yea you can't buy it easily" she said though she was not quite sure why the animal was not at the supermarket. "Ye attacking the mansion with the x-men thare would be suicide, like attacking Sanctuary with the ord..er."She said stopping dead as she did. That was information she under no reason should have granted Amber. SHe wa sunsure what to do. Aura breify entertained the idea of running her sister through to make sure she could never leak the information. Others knew though so she discarded the violence idea and instead said somthing else.
"I am curious, sister at the mansion has anyone mentioned me?" she asked curiously, wondering how much her sister had heard about her. She figured many thare if it was like sanctuary might not even know her, Still she had made the news a number of times and had sent several Mansion residents to the infirmary. SHe wonderd if Amber had ever met mama but discarded the question figuring her sister might have a few of her own..
Aura did find her attention span slipped after she lost site of the woman, though when she sat nearby Aura still took a few moments to recall she had been thare the entire time. Shaking her head a bit she felt like she was mentally fighting through a fog. Her word's finnaly snapped Aura back to reality. "Friend?" she said trying to recall their previous conversation. Aura rubbed her temple her memory wa suspect at times but this was diffrent.
" The lady goes by Mama, she had another name as well, but im not much for names like that. If ya wnat i can go to, they might not notice you but i atract attention" she said with a smile. it was true that since she had put several people who lived at the mansion in the hospital, she had assumed it would be a bad idea to go in. Frosty seemed to think it was a poor choice for her as well, though Aura also thought he may have just worried the order would come after her.
"Ask for the one who cancels powers if you go alone, they will know who you need." she said and then a thought occurred to her. "Does your power work on a guard watching through a security camera? I ask becuse the mansion has that" she said though she had only used it in one strange week. Aura had completely forgotten about the ice cream however. "Your power must make things lonely for you" she said thinking of the poor side of the power. In contrast aura was unsure of the down side to hers.
