The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I don't know becuse i am unsure of my age, i don't recall much before my powers emerged, but im sure i fought before that. The Bulk of my training with my powers...." she started as she made Her way closer to lydia. "I had no choice, my powers emerged and i accidentally cut through the spine of the girl i was fighting, she dies from the shock or blood loss. My loving human parents then let me rot, for a long time. I was saved by a woman, who then trained me. "We ate breakfast and then each day for training we had to fight a human. The fights were always to the death. Humans with automatic weapons and morters often attacked us as well, those unable to cope, died" she said looking away.
"We fought every day, weather humans or sparred with each other. But then i made the a mistake for which i never repent, the Mistake i wa sstripped of the right to command. I lead a small group against a human unit, we had taken heavy losses and were in retreat, my good friend fell a bullet tearing through his knee. I had been tought to kill such a wounded person so they would not be captured. I disobeyed orders and ran. a few days later, the humans struck, the initial morter assault tour through our sleeping quarters and the structure fell on me, only my aura kept me alive. I watched everyone die for that error." she said as she made Her way to Lydia's opponet. This Time Aura formed an Axe and stood so the human would have to first get through her.
"I failed my team and i learned i had to get stronger, so since i came here, i have trained every day, at least 6 hours a day when other duties need to be seen to, longer on my days off" she said honestly. She was constently training, trying to make herself stronger and more powerful, trying to reach the height of her powers and be able to wipe out humanity. "that first year or so, i spent a lot of time getting beaten nearly to death in sparring matches, our leader could heal, so we were enchuraged to do as much damage as we could without killing" she said simply. "I must become stronger, to protect our kind and to repent for those i have failed" she went on. "Learning to fight is painful but the pain of watching your friends die is much worse" she replied, trying to let Lydia ctach a breath. "With other Mutants it's a good idea to know what they can do, so you know how to work with them". Aura felt a strange pain pulse through her but ignored it.
Aura was pretty sure she may have screwed up somewhere is the ordeal. Aura had simply always known the basics of fighting, where to punch, whare to protect. It was why she imagined her first thought was of her Aura flaring into existence and killing her target. It had been one of the few people she had killed she knew she had regretted. She had no idea if the girl was a mutant or animal or even the reason for the fight. Anything before that was a blank, a large disturbing blank.
The Man's next punch, never landed, Aura's stood her Aura sword just below the startled man robot. The man was backing away, holding what should have been a stump, but a cut hologram emitter left only a cleanly cut gray rod. "I was always told i should never lead or teach" she said shaking her head. "Aura tilted her head and thought, even as she reformed her Aura sword into a drill like shape. Aura was trying to Figure out how better to help Lydia.
"This takes a lot of practice. " she said, as the program forced the one armed man forward again. Aura considerd the power. She could not form Daggers and swords, however Aura figured a blunt fist would work best in crushing. The Idea flared to mind though Aura's mind was already picking apart the flaws. "If you can get in close, a punch to jugular" Aura ran her fingers over her neck to show the area. "Your fist could crush it, that cuts off blood to the brain" Aura said her voice growing happier at the end. "The nose can work to, it's soft and if hit hard enough could hit the brain" she saide continuing her thought aloud. "You all right" She asked concearned Aura stood ready even as the program forced the one armed man forward before it would release any other fighters.
Aura watched the guy she had met once and the girl she did not know at all. She let a sigh of irritation and shook her head. Aura felt she was easily the most qualified for the task at hand. A though occurred to her that the woman who had left for fire wood might have a mutation that let her collect wood easily as well. Aura closed her eyes for a second to calm herself. Her attempt failed So Aura began to channel the annoyence as a focus in her right wrist. Her Wrist had already formed an axe and Aura swung cleaving a branch from the tree she had been standing by, the branch fell down and against the tree. Aura opened her eyes and shook her head disappointed with her work and lazily sliced through the branches last attempts to cling to it's tree. "Should have done it one" she said to herself looking down at the foot thick branch at her feet.
While the other two were away Aura walked back to her sister and looked around, a forlorn look coming over her face. "I can almost hear the echoes of that day...."Aura said looking away. "Still i enjoy theses places for more then citys" she said honestly. Her face brightened a bit as she fought past the long past memory that continued to haunt her. She felt somthing at her lag and looking down at her pet skunk, she leaned down and quickly hoisted the creature up to her chest. For it's part the skunk simply swatted at Aura's aura with no luck, it simply laid in the spot provided for a few breif seconds before jumping down and pursuing something into the brush.
Aura then began clearing the fire pit, which was mostly void of anything flammable, though Aura Did find a few pinecones and even a a small tree trying to push it's way through a thin layer of ash. "First Time i slept in the woods that i have not needed a loom out" she siad which was not completely true. She had a few times not been able to do so and others like now it had been unneeded. Done wit that Aura looked up at the sky and smiled. Her Aura thickening around her but holding no shape other then her outline.
"That is likely, the alleyways and the like have faster travel then the roads in many cases" she said. She was pretty sure of this but she almost always walked anyway."We can set out whenever you like" she said wanting to leave when they left up to seyta, Aura had no ware to be today anyway. She was happy she had met seyta but even now could feel the tug on her mind to forget seyta was thare.
"Many people have told me that but im still not sure why their different, she even eats mice" she said with a shrug. Despite her usual attention to detail Aura simply could not understand the difference between skunks and cats. "I acquired her after some animal mutants let the local zoo's animals go., this one decided to come with me and stay, i even took her to canada" she said with a smile.
Aura hear the two talk about their parents, lori's mom who had passed away and so had tacsean's parents. It made Aura think of her own. The filthy humans that had bore her, had simply left her to rot, for an accident. Aura likely would have killed them, if she had any idea of how to find them, assuming they were alive. "My parents left me to rot in a cage the moment my power emerged. I do not recall much of them" she said, deciding against highlighting her feeling on them.
Aura was a bit surprised by the hug, But Her Aura never even flickered. Instead Aura's mind was electrified by the embrace. Of all the Leaders she had served, only Lori had hugged her. "Yes, here we can feel safe to be as we were meant" Sanctuary was almost a holy place in Aura's eyes. An Example of how the world should be, mutant dominated.
"The cooks are quite good here" she said though when it came to food Aura was not picky. The hardest part Aura had found was the line between normal food animals and what had consisted of Aura's random caught diet. Aura glanced at tacean to see if he wanted to stay for dinner. Things looked to Aura as if they were going well, Tacean and more importantly, Lori seemed happy.
She had finished her own tent without to much issue and moved on to help her sister with hers. "I use to do this quite a bit" she said as she looked around at the others. It was starnge to her she had watched so many people die in places just like this and yet she was able to shake off the feeling she might get shot at like a rabbit. Their were no humans around and more importantly most likely if ant did come they would not be shooting at them.
Aura had even decided to forgo her usual fitness regime in favor of trying to relax and sort things out in her mind. Looking around it looked like the tents were all set up and Aura was unsure what to do next. She leaned up against a tree and looked over the area, and taking in the local animal noises. It was peaceful out here. Aura watched as a few bee's landed nearby and smiled, their was had to be honey nearby, of all things Aura found she missed about living in the woods, hunney had somhow become a favorite snack.
Leaning against the tree, Aura opened her pack and her pet skunk walked out and sleepily looked around, then turned and walked back into the mostly empty pack to go back to sleep. "Cats" Aura said shaking her head. She had brought the skunk a separate pack to keep him comfortable. Though she figured the animal would simply hunt it's own food. "I am Aura" she offered trying to be friendly. Even as She did, She let her Aura become visable, though it stayed mostly transparent and looked more like an outline.
"I learned the term mutant seconds after my power emerged and I have used my own powers every day" she said unable to hide the pride in her voice. Then again, Aura did not believe Teasen was meant for combat like she was. "Andrew is not bad in a fight either, held his own" She said which was true from what she had seen. She had no idea how well we was. Aura moved on from the living room having not seen the transparent boy before. Aura made a note to ask him about the power later.
As they moved on, Aura went toward the dorms, glad that her door was still in tact. Aura knew her hobbies scared some people, certainly more peace minded mutants. "Mutants come and go from this city all the time" she said thinking of those that she had met and had left or just dissopeared. Aura listened to lori's question. She assumed the answer would be yes, from what she understood that wa shis point.
"next up the dormitorys" she said as they reached the Area whare the various mutants of Sactuary lived. Their seemed to be an argument going one in one of the rooms down the hall, but Aura chose to ignore it. Such things were common in places like this and as long as it did not come to blowes, Aura figured it would be fine. "It can be a bit boisy" she said to Tesean who she was sure would understand.
Aura tilted her head at the reaction and shrugged. "I believe our friend's wound maybe worse then we thought" she said looking back to Cree. This only served to enhance Aura's bleive this red head needed help. The idea of such fear of these gates had not even crossed Aura's mind, nor did the idea their might be an actual reason she did not wnat to go in. Aura walked over to whare the Doctor was taking red from cree and smiled to her.
"You will be free to go, but that wound needs to be seen to, and im not sure were quite in range of anyware else now." she said worrying that it had been a bit of time since the wound and it still looked bad to Aura. Aura briefly considered clubbing rythem just hard enough to knock her out, but she decided against it, it seemed the wrong thing to do and Aura feared it might give rythem a real reason to fear the wonderful golden doors.
Aura looked around, the Medical staff sure seemed to think the wound was serious and Aura knew they were well trained. "Strange, she seemed so much calmer before, maybe it is shock?" Aura said considering the girl was still semi blind. The idea of having her own vision taken was one she did not like. She recalled a fight with a light manipulator so many moons ago.
Aura had wished their had been more talking on the ride, it would have saved her from brooding. As it was however the trip seemed to go by pretty quickly and they got out of the Car. Aura made sure she grabbed her bag as well as some of the camping equipment. SHe looked around and closed her eyes. Already she felt at peace with herself here though she could not force herself to think it was the old wood. This was natural plant life at it's best.
Aura's eyes scanned the woods as they walked. The walk to her was relatively short and easy. She was used to having to move by shadow, something this location made unneeded. Their were no humans out here and if their were....Aura glanced at her sister a brief second and sighed. Surprised by her bofys dietary choice, she matched pace with Amber. She had planned this trip out which was something Aura would not have thought possible back in the day."A good idea sister" she said with a smile.
Aura looked at the tent she had taken. The instructions asked for a hammer for the stakes, oh did she have a hammer. Aura unpacked all the tent supplies of the tent that was in her pack. Looking over the instructions she quickly got to work. She looke dup when the other girl yelped and could not supress a giggle. She had seen things like it happon before but it had been a long time. "Happons to the best of us" she said as she used the included hammer to pound ina stake.
"So does that mean you only recently discovered your powers?" she asked curiously. Many Mutants had not met other mutants before. Worse some mutants went a live time barely knowing the wonders they could do. Aura had not known the sanctuary had been goverment funded at all, not that it mattered. Aura was also acutely aware of the damage the place frequently endured, her own room had to salvaged more then once. Aura had no idea whare north carolina was really but stayed quite.
"Yes their are many books here" Aura said, she liked the Manga. However she more often used the dinosaur age computers. It had been enough for her activities, researching pipe bombs and other various weapons. Most of which she felt should not leave her lips with Tasean around. So she diverted her attention to a slightly earlior question. "What's north Carolina?" she asked.
Aura then considered their next stop when Yasean and Lori were ready. Next was the recreational area, filled with Sofa's couches and Tv's, a giant living room. "This is our recreational room. Many mutants gather here throughout the day to mingle with other residents." she said thinking to herself she should prolbely watch some tv every now and then.
Aura nodded and she cought Lori's motion to proceed. Aura lead them down the hall until they reached the work out room. The gym was a place largely unused by Aura herself but she knew many who liked it. The Gym had various work out machines as well as a large amount of free space in it. It was a fairly large room. "This is our gym and work out room which is open all the time. Their are even more specialized equipment for those mutants whose gifts will not allow them to use the normal equipment" she said. She had met a few such mutants whose forms had changed them greatly.
Aura also waived to the pool in the room. "The pool is heated and kept clean as well" she said not sure what else to say about the room and so she waited untill Lori as tasean were ready to move on to their next destination. "Next up the Library" she said trying to sound cheerful but to be honest she never liked librarys much.
