The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was early morning and Aura was walking torward the mansion, she had been gone for awhile and needed to pick up Alex. She felt bad using the place to watch her kid like she did when she had to be gone so long. her near waist length hair had been dyed a bright purple but otherwise she barely stuck out among the still waking up people emerging onto the streets. She let out a breath it still felt odd walking in the open like this at times, despite the surgery to grant her a new face. She had spent so long hiding, slinking through alley ways and often leaving them a nightmare for whoever happen upon the alley. So far she had not killed a single person the whole year.
That was of course when out of a swirling vortex 4 Golems emerged as it expanded closing being it. The smallest was no taller then a normal human but seemed to be made of a white glue like substance which it promptly fired at a man emerging from a starbucks and stuck him right to the window though it seemed no smaller for the effort.
The second Golem was near twenty feet tall, had two sets of eyes and seemed to be made of mirrors or crystal and when it locked it's gaze on Auras eyes i only for a moment she felt cold and old dark memories tried bursting up from where she locked them. The second set in the things torso locked eyes with a woman and collapsed in utter glee.
The third looked almost human other then it's silver skin but when a car struck it after slamming on it's breaks the things rubber like body stretched back and sent the car shooting in the other direction like a cannonball. It then jumped a few feet into the air, slammed down onto the ground it's humanoid shape distorting slightly as it then bounced high into the air before landing again on the hood of the car, it's footprints embedded in the car.
The last was made of amethyst and as it touched the cement sidewalk it's body was full of sharp edges and though slow it cut through a brick wall with ease the light reflecting through it's body like lens as it did. Nearly ten feet tall it was lanky and seemed to move in quick spurts of motion.
She had seen no one summon them but with all the people and the building and with magic and mutant powers and half the other things the city seemed to spring on them she was entirely sure they had been summoned by someone. Dawning the mask of her old face, Aura met the Amethyst golems blade with her own and felt herself skid back from the force of each blow as she probed for a way past it's swipes and considerd what she might be able to do about the others. She formed a hammer from the aura blade on her left hand and struck the incoming blade. it snapped off but the first golem struck the severed blade with its glue and amethyst golem proceeded to stick it back on then moved it as i nothing had happened.
She knew their was a reason she loved this city, it knew how to treat a woman and make her feel wanted.
She heard the bullet and felt it whip by but ti did not seem like either of them were hit as far as she could tell. She had been worried not wanting to risk using her power as normal and blocking it. "yea people hunting for you never ends well. for them i our case" she said looking up at the Bird mutant. Though if we was worried about that she wonderd what else he had done. Though either way it really was not her place to ask. It had been a good, relaxing night and Aura thought it better to keep on that side.
She looked downs he flew above the building, it really looked beautiful. "Can you take me to Sanctuary? I can make it if it's to far " she offered not sure how much endurance he had left in him or how much he normally had. He had clearly been holding back in the fight and she was curious how good he was going all out.
"It was fun, been awhile since I stretched like that. You are tight though the heat is never worth the fun" she said shaking her head recalling old times before realizing Kimmie lacked such a record. Well no taking it back now she thought to herself. looking down at passing building going by. The air was not her favorite are to be in, but she both trusted her new friend as well as was confident she could at least survive the landing.
Aura nodded and let out a sigh. "The Mansion's loss weighs on even me. it will be rebuilt but the soul of the new mansion will not be the same. In this way you have lost friend and i a former rival. I saw a few of our blood stripped of their powers.....and...The Mansion Null is going to be very busy. It is likely some of our people may have had to go further then they ever thought they would and i have seen that break people and i have seen it crush them under the weight." she said looking away for a moment.
"As for reality, we came close to losing it, but we are alive and as long as we are alive we can keep at least this city safe for our children. I have a second house you could use if you are willing to ignore some damage, old gang with some beef decided to very stupid. I left them alive though in need of a long hospital stay." she said adding the last line quickly knowing it would not be unreasonable to assume she had sent them to their maker. Their was no shortage of gangs who had taken an issue with Aura using them as training dummies in the past and some had even managed to repopulate in the proceeding decade.
"Our frozen friend may not like it, but if you need me i will lend what aide i can" she offerd though she was less sure Cold steel preferred that now. He seemed onboard with hunting the remaining Mystic leaders from the cult.
She put a steak on a plate and passed it to Warlock taking a slice for herself. "Quite legal and i like eating with others" she said honestly. In the depths of the woods it had always been good to have someone on look out or to talk to. "In the old days we were responsible for finding food so we learned to hunt and cook, i do miss that part" she said said. She was unsure how legal the rooms set up was but the Syndicate had assured her it would pass inspection so she really did not care past that. She had lived in less legal situations and now she knew the Syndicate would bail her out if needed.
She stabbed the steak and lifted it entirely flipping the fork over and biting off a chunk of meat, after chewing and swallowing she responded. "I am use to having a lot of open space to roam/ Living in the city has been a major adjustment for me. Your very perceptive. She said as she poked on of the logs under the spit to adjust it and the flame. It had been awhile since she had shared a mean with somone that was not eight.
"You prefer the city or rural areas?" she asked tearing another chunk of meat from the forked meat. She was mildy curios about the question but more was just enjoying having the company. It was then from under the bed poked a nose followed by a secound before two skunks casually walked out from under the bed and yawned. She cut a piece of meat in two and tossed it to the pair. [color=f7ooc5"My Pet's Alpha and Nova" she said not at all considering the average response to a skunk near people. For their part the skunks sniffed the meat and barely seemed to care warlock was there.
She heard the siren and grimaced not wanting to get caught and test her new life. It had been a fun night but she did need to make it home to Alex tonight. The kid worried when she was gone to long, a worry that had increased with Alison's dissopearince.
Maybe it had been her new winged friends fault but as far as she could tell these had been humans and Aura still tended to favor Mutants viewpoints. His response to cops made her consider a few questions about her new friend but she was not going to turn down an offer to avoid the cops even under her new face. He grabbed Carrick's hand and was surprised he could lift her as well. Had he been holding back in the fight? She had several questions in her head now. Kimmie kicked a hand that tried to grab her foot.
"I seem to have under estimated your strength, my New Friend" she said calmly as they rose into the air. She looked down at the red blue flash of lights she knew quite well. She was really glad she would not be answering questions for them. "Im not sure my help was needed but it was fun" she said with a smile. She had to learn to improve in hand to hand if she was going to keep fighting like this and not reveal herself or wind up dead. She considered asking about Sarah but decided it really was not her business either way.
She had flown just a few times before and it was always something she treasured, it made her want wings of her own though she knew her aura could not do the job.
She turned quickly hearing the voice placing it only after her eyes laid upon her. A power growth was certainly away of putting it. She nodded. "It was an interesting power growth, though i'm very happy to be back to normal. Magic still makes my skin crawl" she said shaking her head before looking up at the sky a moment. "The battle reminded me of the old days in the woods and that....everyone i ever called family or was a close friend or i loved is either missing or dead except friend Lenna and Alex. Your the closest thing to family i have left and only then due to Alex." she said glancing at the ruins again almost by reflex. Her aura calmed as she say on what had once been a pillar.
"Are you all right, my Reflective friend? The battle has cost you much" she said referring to the Mansion which likely contained many things Mirror had valued. Aura also knew how she would of felt of Sanctuary had been destroyed she had thought about stabbing her stormy friend when he bought Sanctuary and had let humans live within its walls. Aura was also unsure if everyone had survived though she had heard of only injuries
It had taken almost an hour after the fight to shrink. It had been gradual thing. Using it had helped grant them victory and avoid any deaths on their side, but she still felt dirty from the magics touch. Aura had few positive experiences with magic and today...well she still needed to process how she felt about the witch blood on that. She half expected to be suddenly yanked back to reality like had happened with the shared future dream where she had ripped apart Moscow with her father and Ghost, There she bat away tank shells and had lead an army fighting for Australia and in another she had been at the end of the world before a cockroach she had called friend ended it in nuclear fire, she even been thrown in the past and fought a Tyrannosaurus whose egg, Aura had cooked and partly eaten. Each time she had been ripped back to a time that made sense. Today seemed up there with those amazing and scary events but somehow felt more real.
Her aura was weak but functional and the pink outline around her rippled as she thought about how she felt about the day. She flipped open her cellphone and shot a text to Alex, simply saying she was alive and to stay with the others for now. Their were missing supremes out there and she would not been surprised if they did try and go for the kids still. She would hunt them down and tear each supreme limb from limb, not all mystics were evil she knew this but those ones, those supremes were all guilty save the one who had aided them. She had given Zek a massive arsenal of magic or at least that's what Aura understood.
It had the the biggest, most incredible battle she had ever known. She had honestly loved it, Malachi had been her equal with the magic boosts and it was rare for her to find someone who could fight her one one one like that. Had the Samurai not arrived, Aura had been considering killing Malachi by jumping on her blade. "My inked heart and my red father friends, i hope you are both proud of what i have become" she said to herself more loudly then she knew. She wanted Abyss or Allison here with her, but her family and friends were mostly missing or dead. It was funny the people still alive and she knew best had almost all lived in the ruins behind her.
Aura hit her communicator again. "We have the supreme witchblood in costody and our portal friend has more in his...other dimension? We have wounded, including myself, and though justice demands her death, we will keep her prisoner...well the cute Samurai just knocked her out....Im not sure about our bug friend she looks ok but but they may have robbed her of her birthright." Aura clicked of the comms off as she began a hacking cough.
Aura hears Lenna's call and made her way over there, it hurt to breathe, a clear sign her rib was cracked or broke, both her hands were burned black her right up to her elbow and her shoulder has a bit of white showing from the hole. Her back had several gashes as well.
"Thank you, My layered friend" she said holding her arm to her side still to prevent movement but the aura covering her body was thin. With a grimace she formed her aura under her shirt and carefully cut it with a small aura blade til it dropped to the ground leaving her in her bra as she approached Lenna. Her layered friend would need access to her wounds and maybe more bandages. Everything seemed to sting as the shock started to wear off, she resisted the dizziness that tried to overtake her.
"Thank you, my Samurai friend, I may have fallen had you not lent aide at the time you did. Then more important people may have also been hurt" she said giving the Mutant a nod as she did not want to risk bending over at the moment.
"friend Zek, good work keeping them off us, Just how much can you hold?" she asked recalling the various disappearances Zek had caused. She had no idea on the man's limits, but they seemed limitless compared to what Aura could see.
"I really hate these witch blood, at least those I have encountered" she said amending it at the end reminding herself not all Mystics were of the same mold, a new lesson Aura was still trying to force into her ideology and stay awake.
Aura's chainsaw came down as the magic around Malachi started to fade and Aura smiled as it tore a gaping wound across his chest as it carried through to the ground, she was surprised by the lack of force behind his magic upon the hit. She felt magic cut through her aura and she winced as pain flared in her chest from one of her ribs, It had barely gotten through though she realized from the feel of it. the Blow took her from her feet however and the chainsaw lost shape and flowed back into her aura.
Thorny plants had struck Malachi's face which had distracted him. "You’re not bad on the dance floor yourself" She called back to Zek. She liked Zek more now since he had helped save her and fought for this place. She may have judged his chaos wrongly she thought.
"Not sure but she is beautiful and as importantly on our side" She said in truth she did seem familiar, but aura could not place her. She was the glad Lenna was here.
She took Lenna’s hand with her right arm, her left still held tight at her side by her aura. "My shoulders shattered, pretty sure he cracked a rib and some minor wounds like burns. My auras keeping me from bleeding out" She said leaving out much this magic had been draining her aura. Unfortunately, her aura did little for the pain. The aura on her back was too thin to block the magic now
Then one of Malachi's arms fell to the ground and the Samurai girl made her impact felt. She smiled; she would not have minded a dance with her one bit.
When aura reached Malachi she would Form a drill and she aimed it in an uppercut for Malachi's good side just under his ribs, she positioned herself so Malachi would need to get past her before striking Lenna. "So my lovely Samurai friend, your help at this hour is most welcomed" she said honestly. She could have beat Malachi but the rest? She doubted it.
She turned the mic off as she watched a mystic drop a dart in his neck and another crumpled one on the ground. Lenna charged into the fight and though Aura's instincts told her to help her, she was busy herself. "I think i prefer being on this side of the dance floor with you my Gorgeous friend." She said unable to hide a slight moan in her words. Their was always time to compliment women.
Aura was forced back by another Mystic coming to cover Malachi. She parried two of his sword strikes before she brought down her aura hammer on his shoulder, the crack echoed through the woods. She heard Agatha's words and was about to reply when Malachi became covered in the flames of his sword but seemed immune to it.
The back of her right hand was already burned black from the heat, her aura protected her from the blade itself yes but her Aura she had discovered was half as effective on Mystic magic. Trading the blows as she was, she was also burning through her aura reserves.
Malachi Charged and so did Aura. The arrows however her new and midcharge Aura had to try and tank one of them avoiding another. "watch out!" She shouted as the first arrow struck her, drove deep into her aura, the second struck her upper arm below her shoulder bone, and drove into, flesh muscles and bone. Aura screamed as her arm fell limp at her side. She kept the sword at her shoulder her reach no diminished greatly. It was then she heard lethal aide had been green lit.
Aura was glad the arrows had been light and not actual arrows. Arrows were messy to remove. The Malachi was on top of her again, each blocked swing blackened and crisped her flesh and each time she took a step back. She focused past the pain and at the hammer. She had, the Hammer lengthened and thinned out until if formed a long over shape as a chain formed around the over just in time For Aura to feel Malachi slip past her guard, her aura keeping it to a small cut on her wounded arm. In retaliation she raised her hand an in overhead swing and brought the chainsaw down, keeping the blade on her wounded side back for defense. She had to find a killing shot, her shoulder was screaming and only her aura prevented her from losing much blood. Every blow was a drain on her aura as well and stopping magic was hard, more so this guy with why ever he was glowing.
Their were plants on the ground now that seems to rise up and attack the Mystics. One went after her as well, but her Aura kept her mostly same from the carnivorous ones. It reminded her of Solkat. One of the stickier plants kept a Mystic from flanking her. She was grateful for whoever had done that. She never saw Ms. Diaz enter the battlefield to distracted by her own issues.
The bug girl made Aura wonder if she had seen her before, she recalled a girl who could control bugs back when she tried that disloyal parrot as a pet. There did seem to be differences, but powers did grow.
“You talk way too much, lady.”
Aura countered another blow and a second from what would have been past her natural reach but she moved her Aura blade to her elbow to block. The first mystic pressed his assault and Aura moved forward into it throwing a punch at the Mystic who now, arrogant due to numbers and seeming success, retaliated with a stomach blow of his blade. Aura’s aura however passed through the man skin without effect until Aura smiled and hardened it, cutting of the man oxygen and slowly contracting her aura even as she felt warm blood come from her back.
"Hello friend Zek, nice of you to join our dance. " Aura was happy to see Zek for the second time in her life, twice more then she had ever figured. His chaos would be very useful here she thought as she saw several Mystics disappear from zeks orbs.
The Mystic passed out and Aura let the man fall dissolving that part of her aura before his windpipe was crushed, it was then she saw who had struck her back, Malachi her original target... She had no way of knowing that the cut was deeper than she thought but had missed vital organs slowed just enough by her aura. These guys were not the talkative type and seemed less then intimidated by her words, so Aura decided to do something in the fight she had not done in over fifteen years, sing loudly.
"Peel their flesh, eat their muscle , braid their veins, Drink their blood Savior their marrow, stew their organs Take their bones, discard the fat Burn their brain, drill the bone Dinner is made, our bed is built
Her wrath is us, Her will is all For we are nothing, she is all Our powers her armaments', Our lives hers to wield She is unerring, failure is our crime alone Miracles love will see us dead. Our purpose served, we can rest.”
Aura never realized she hit her communicator and sent it to anyone who had a communicator. Th nursery rhyme was four hours long in total, though Auras suspected she wouldn't finish it one way or the other. As she sang, she traded quick and fast sword strikes with Malachi, both angling for a fatal or knockout blow. Though her song sent shivers or anger through Aura, and she had no idea why. She blocked an overhead strike that left her standing only because her Aura barely resisted it, she aimed a return strike at her chest hoping to break a rib.
The battle was chaos. Mystic and mutant powers threw up a beautiful rainbow of power. It really was quite a beautiful dance. Sure, people were probably hurt and with the powers everywhere maybe dying but that did not mean she could not drink in the sheer beauty of the battle. It took her back to when she was young charging her first group of soldiers.
Aura fought a tall strong looking mystic who looked like a bodybuilder and looked like he knew he was outclassed. So as the mad women wrapped in pink charged he did the one thing he could think of, he raised the ground under her quickly and threw her high into the air towards the woods. Aura briefly saw a dart strike the man in the chest. Aura almost smashed into a tree but missed though she did use her aura sword to slash the tree to slow her down and by the third tree she was able to nearly stop, tumbling to the ground unhurt only thanks to her powers.
In front of her a few dozen yards away were people wrapped in gold much like her pink. Their leader seemed to be a guy with a sword in flames and armor of some sort. Aura let her other hands hammer melt away and made it flow into a sword. "I am Aura, I am THE war crime, thousands have lost their souls to my blades, are you so eager to have your heads mounted on my wall? Are your lives so worthless you would throw them away?" She taunted with a fierce calm smile even as her feet began to charge the Mystic line, blades ready, she headed for Malachi as he was leading their line. but her angle let another golden Mystic intercept her. Their blades crossed twice, and Aura knew right away these were not the Mystics she had fought on the train nor were they even the cannon fodder she had just been fighting. They seemed barely phased by her boast and Aura was forced to take a few steps back to better defend herself.
The Mystic swung at her back but tripped as something grabbed his foot, Aura spun around and even as she did her blade turned into a hammer which struck the Mystics shoulder cracking it as the man was knocked to the ground. A second fell asleep with a dart in his neck and Aura gave a short wave to Lenna not sure if she saw her but glad for the Woman’s health. Lenna was gorgeous in combat Aura thought to herself. "Thank you my Beautiful Levitating friend" she shouted hopefully above the noise to Lenna. Aura threw a stun grenade as some gathering mystics like a softball, it bounced off one fo their head a foot in the air before it blew. Aura was on the group in moments knocking out four o the mystics left standing.
Aura was being pushed towards the gates and away from the School though the woods behind her looked to have quite the lightshow as well.
Aura ran her fingers down her arm and over the shoulder wound she had been given by Malachi. She was grateful for the Mansion Doctor but her mind still told her the wound should remain. Her power ensured it was rare she was injured physically or bled. It had been a rare day in so many ways and now that she could relax and knew theyr had suffered no deaths, she allowed the enjoyment of the day fill her. She glanced up at the Tv which had moved to play a scene of the Giant Mech and herself. "So glad i wore pants today" she said to herself but loud enough for anyone to hear.
She glanced at Herculees as the large loud man talked. The guy had been Aura's first and really only possative interaction with the witch blood, though that many fought on the Mansion side spoke volumes for them and Her Large friend despite delusions seemed like an over all good person. She patted Herculees on his arm. "Funny how we always seem to find each other in such places My Large friend, surrounded my lovely flowers of womanhood. Aura was awful at small talk but she was trying.
She turned to Amelia. "And you my Well Dressed Friend, it is good to see you, last we talked we were sharing a dance with that Witch blood Juggernaut at the prison, thanks again for the ride" she said offering a smile. She would not of minded a private dance with either of the two ot almost anyone she saw in the group at that moment, even Zek.
Aura orderd another shot, bu waived away the glass instead forming a glass from her aura in her hand and had the bartender poor it into the aura glass. "Friend Zek, may i ask where you got that wondrous armory we used against the giant tenticle monster we fought?" she said overhearing the word and decideing it actually git really well despite.
"Our Gorgeous friend is correct My Gooey friend. Their are none who should not feel pride in helping to fight this day and i saw what you did with the whale, will you grow bacl to that size?" she asked the green goo girl in front of her. She was unsure if she had met her before and the Beautiful woman speaking with her she knew she had not met.
Their were things Aura was going to miss about being larger then most building in the area but overall she had been glad to be back to normal. Aura had been in a strip club but a few times in her life and as she tried to intricate herself more into normal behavior. It had been a learning process over the last few years that had really only picked up do to the syndicate. Still she had come both to share the moment of celebration at a very hard fought victory. She quickly sent a text to Alex to let them know she was alive and ok. She knew Alex would worrey. They had had even more so since Alison had left.
Aura looked down at her hand and as she sat at the bar. Malachi's blood stained her hands now to, but he had been a warrior and as close to equal as she had encountered it a long time. It had felt amazing to fight him and had the Katana wielding women not appeared, Aura had been considering more desperate ploys. She took down a shot for the fallen warrior, letting the cinnamon liqueur burn its way down her throat.
She stood out coated in a thin layer of her translucent pink aura. Trusting other peoples came hard for Aura and most of her encountered with magic had gone very poorly. It was hard not to see the Mystics in the light the people who had made her would have wished but she was learning. Not all Mystics were bad, some had helped them win against the monster and she knew they had needed every drop of magic help.
Aura took another shot and shook her head to clear it a bit as she downed it as well. She looked around spotting some faces she had seen before and some she had not. "To Xaviers, may it be rebuilt quickly" she called back to Eupraxia's toast behind her downing a third shot. "I have fought on countless battlefield and the one we fought it was likely the worst. " she added looking behind her at the group behind her.
