The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hey everyone. I was wondering if any/some Order member(s) or Sanctuary resident(s) would want to do a thread with me. Deirdra is a new Order member and is now living at the Sanctuary, so it'd be nice to have her meet people.
Please PM me or reply on here if you're interested in threading. I can brainstorm with people if they're onboard and we can come up with something to have happen or do. I'm not too concerned on how many people are in the thread.

He said that she saved him. The woman let out a small laugh. “I highly doubt that, Roland, I hope you don’t mind if I call you by your first name. Now that I’ve seen your aim, I’m sure you could’ve taken care of yourself. I thought I was helping, but I know better now.” Deirdra smirked and leaned back in her chair. “I do appreciate your kind words though. You definitely know what women want to hear, that’s for sure.” She smiled at him and held out his pen for him to take. “Thank you for letting me borrow it, but I think that’s all I needed it for.”
The blond chuckled when Roland asked what kind of excitement she meant. “There are plenty of different kinds. I enjoy partying and drinking. I’m very fun and flirty plus I’m not exactly into the long term stuff, which means I don’t scare other people like me off.” She smiled at him.” I just like to think of myself as exciting. I’m even more exciting when I’m able to use my mutation. When I don’t, it’s kind of like hiding part of myself. I can’t say that I go around telling about myself or letting people see exactly how I am, but I actually like my mutation. Not to mention, I have to be in my scorpion form to produce more of my toxins.”
Roland explained to the woman that the Order wasn’t something she wasn’t supposed to share with many people. Deirdra nodded and smiled. “I completely understand and I can’t really imagine what kind of conversation would bring that up, but I’m not sure how well I’d trust them.” He said Lori Faust was the leader and that he’d give her information to her. The blond gave another quick nod. “I hope I get to meet her soon, I’m sure she’s a very interesting woman. Yes, I would very much like to go see where I’ll be staying.” She rose from the chair.

Deirdra raised an eyebrow when he asked about the last time she had been swimming. She smirked. “Well, it’s been a while since I last swam. I haven’t really gotten many opportunities since I live in the middle of a city and all. I know that there are swimming pools, but I don’t visit them often. It’s probably been at least 4 or 5 months since I last swam.” She wondered what would happen to him if he went that long without a swim. She imagined it would be very difficult and maybe even life-threatening.
He told Deirdra that she had an amazing gift and the woman shrugged. “It’s different than most mutations I’ve seen. I’m thankful for my unique ability. I produce a toxin in my tail as well. It can be deadly if someone is stung three times, otherwise it’s just a paralytic.” She smiled and stuck her pointer finger in the water. She spun it in a circle and watched the rings move out from around it.
Loken explained his mutation to her and she touched his hand. It felt wet, but still kind of solid. She glanced quickly up at the man’s eyes. “That’s very interesting. So you can do that with your whole body? That’s very impressive. I must say your ability is pretty unique too.” After pulling her hand back, she poked his once more and shook her head with a smile on her face. "That's very cool.”

When the pen appeared to Deirdra, she was a bit surprised. Smiling, she grabbed it and looked down at the form. She began to scribble in some answers. Her name, sex, birthday, age, and whatnot were always the easiest part of a form, but that goes without saying. However, she did hate how questions could become more in-depth. The blond had loathed filling out applications for jobs. It seemed a bit nosy to just ask a question, get the answer on a sheet, and then be able to keep it for a later date. It seemed too easy for people to know almost everything about you. She hated it and she didn’t like the idea of knowledge being available on her.
Deirdra had to admit that it was exciting to be able to get a new room. The woman enjoyed decorating, to an extent. She may as well make the experience a good one and so, she would try to enjoy it this time. What she had seen of the Sanctuary thus far appeared very beautiful, so Deirdra had a feeling the rooms would be quite nice as well. “I look forward to see where I’ll be staying. This building seems to be pretty large. There must be plenty of rooms available to people who may want to stay.”
Oh. These were the in-depth questions she meant. A light sigh escaped the woman’s lips. Alright, answer to the first question: What I think of mutants, humans, and their roles. “Well, I think that mutants have abilities for a reason. It shows that we’re above humans. They’re no longer the top of the food chain, though many of them treat us like dirt and persecute us. We’re superior to them. It’s just that simple and I don’t want to hear their talk anymore. It’s ridiculous.” The blond glanced up from the form and looked at Roland.
After processing the second question: What could you bring to this little family here, Deirdra smirked. It had a bit of smugness embedded in it. “I could bring plenty of things, such as excitement. Besides that, my loyalties lie with mutants and my mutation is very strong. I’ve never seen anyone else with quite the same ability. Three doses of my venom can kill the average sized human.” Another smirk. “Don’t ask how I know. I think that partly answers what I can do. I’m very handy in cases where someone needs to be stunned. I can keep someone in a paralyzed state for about 30 minutes before it would actually kill them. “
The woman jotted down a few more answers on her forms and continued to look down as she spoke. “I’m willing to do just about anything to put us where we belong. As long as I have an income, there’s no need to pretend to be normal. I can show what I am and I can use my mutation. I would prefer not to hurt anyone unless they are directly related to mutants not being where they should be. People who don’t hate us, but need to be eliminated, I may not be able to do. I won’t lie to you about that.” She held the clipboard out for him to grab and looked Roland straight in the eye. “I believe I’ll make a great edition, don’t you?”

Roland offered to help her learn how to use guns later. She nodded. “That sounds very nice. I think it’d be a good skill to have and be able to use when necessary. It sure seems to come in handy for you.” Deirdra smirked at him. It really did at the time. It may have been a bit of a shock to see him just attack all of those police officers, but she admired the talent it took to have such perfect aim. It wasn’t that the blond liked cops, it was quite the opposite in fact. She didn’t really believe they made much of a difference and she didn’t see the need for humans with guns running around when mutants were gifted with their own, natural weapons. But still, seeing a group of people shot in the head so easily and without any sense of remorse, it was different for her.
The woman looked at Roland when he question what it felt like when she transformed. He wanted to know if it was painful. Deirdra quirked her lips as she thought about. “Well, it is painful, but I’m so used to it that the pain doesn’t really bother me anymore. It seems to get easier each time I use that form.” How do I describe the feeling? It’s not like anything else I’ve ever felt. “Hm, I guess it’s a bit like feeling like your skin is being smelted and then molded into something else. My bones also disappear and that feels a bit like it’s melting and then being flipped to the outside, since I have an exoskeleton when I’m a scorpion. Technically, my bones kind of turn into the shell. It’s very hard to explain when I’m not even sure exactly how it happens. Either way, growing a tail hurts the most.” She blushed and looked away. That’s so awkward.
As they walked along, Deirdra noticed a few people glance at her through their doors. She scrunched her eyebrows together, confused. They all looked away when they saw her with Roland. She glanced at the man who was escorting her and his gaze was on her. It was as if he was their superior. They did look a bit younger than him, and maybe that’s why they respected the fact that he was with her currently, even if it wasn’t like that. It reminded her a bit of animal packs, like lions or wolves. The alpha got the female. Deirdra felt a cross between flattery and anger. The flattery came from all of the attention from Roland and the anger, well, that came from the fact that they seemed to think she was owned or something. It didn’t bother her enough to be upset visibly and besides, she was getting a new room and Roland seemed to be interested in her. Nothing bad about either of those things.
The two arrived at a desk where a woman sat at a computer. Roland told her Deirdra’s name and requested keys and a list of rooms with no one in them. He motioned for the blond to follow him and told her to sit. She did so and he explained to her what was going on. The blond nodded and crossed one leg over the other and smirked. “Alright, what would you like to know?”

Deirdra smirked when she realized the man was looking at her. He said that it was a public fountain and he hadn’t splashed anyone else. She chuckled when Loken added the ‘yet’. “So you were intending on splashing someone if the chance arose, is that it?” The woman remained seated on the edge of the large fountain. When he said it was a pleasure to meet her, she gave him a smile. “It’s very nice to meet you as well. I’ve never seen any abilities like yours before, it looks interesting.”
Loken asked what Deirdra was able to do. She grinned. “The lower half of my body can shift into the body, tail, and legs of a scorpion. I’d show you, but my mutation’s not very subtle. My body is in proportion with my upper half, which means I’m a very large, black scorpion.” The woman watched his legs become one and tilted her head as it happened. She always found it intriguing every time she saw a new kind of power. It made her wonder if any two mutants had the same ability or if they were all a little different. “How exactly does your power work, if you don’t mind me asking?”

Deirdra Sykes had decided that it was a perfect day to go shopping. It was nice out and she had recently come into about three thousand dollars. She strutted on the sidewalk past Central Park in a tight, blue dress that showed off a good portion of her chest and a lot of her legs. Her silver, 4 inch heels clicked against the pavement. The blonde’s hair was left down and she had decided today wasn’t the day to curl it. She was planning to just walk by the park until something caught her eye. That something also appeared to be in the fountain.
There was a man, practically playing in the fountain. She blinked a few times to check if she was seeing things or not. The woman began to walk closer to see what exactly was going on. She heard people muttering and noticed everyone else seemed to be leaving. As they got farther away from the man, she became closer. Deirdra was right next to the fountain when she finally stopped. She looked down at the man and realized his legs had turned into water or something that looked a lot like it.
The 22 year old woman put a hand on her hip and perched on the edge of the fountain. “Enjoying yourself, I hope.” Her right eyebrow was raised in amusement and she had a smirk on her face. “You really know how to call attention to yourself, don’t you, Aquaman?” Deirdra chuckled to herself and glanced up at the beautiful sky before returning her attention to the man. “I’m going to guess you’re a mutant. I’ve got pretty good knowledge on the subject, considering I am one myself.“ Even if he did play in fountains, Deirdra couldn’t help but notice how attractive he was. He reminded her of a model. “I’m Deirdra and you are…?”

Roland told Deirdra that she could leave everything behind and get all new things. The woman bit the inside of her cheek in thought. There isn’t anything I can’t live without, but even if I do make a good deal of money, will that really be enough to pay for everything I need. She looked at the man and smiled. “I think I’d like some of my things, but just my clothing and a few other random things, like my jewelry.” She laughed as she glanced at his bag full of shiny treasures. “Looks like you have yourself a lot of fine pieces to choose from.” The woman smirked at him, to let him know she was kidding.
She watched as the man’s expression turned very smug. It made him look even more handsome, she noted. Deirdra listened as he Roland talked about his experience with marksmanship. “Well, it’s very impressive. I don’t know how to shoot guns. I suppose I’ve never really had the chance to try it though.” She realized that good aim must not have been his mutation. She had heard of mutants having perfect aim as a mutation before, but when he made his boot knife move around without touching it, she knew there was much more to him than being good with guns.
Right before the door popped open, Deirdra gave him a small smile. “I don’t suppose you’ll tell me how you do that. They do say a good magician doesn’t reveal his tricks. I bet you’d be great at children’s parties.” After the door was unlocked, the blond took a step inside the door and then waited for Roland to come in after her. She thought it best that he lead since he actually knew where he was going.

Juka stood and said that he had liked meeting Deirdra, but he was going to go. She laughed when he asked if she needed her beauty sleep. “Yeah, beauty sleep has never done me anything but good, I must say.” He wrote his number down and passed it to her. She smiled and took it from him. “I look forward to seeing you again, Sir Knight.”
She walked to the door and opened it for him. “Get home safely, but I’m sure you’ll be fine. Even better since you have that bubble and can carry anvils with you.” The woman smirked and ripped a piece of paper out a nearby notebook. She scribbled her own number down and held it out for him to take on his way out. “I’m a big fan of nights on the town.” Deirdra winked.

Deirdra found it amusing how blunt Juka was. He said what he felt and believed himself to be amazing. She had to admire that a bit, since most people find a flaw with themselves and begin to dislike their appearance. He seemed very confident and the blond had to admire that as well. She found it amazing that he could wear whatever he wanted and not feel uncomfortable or scared of what people thought. She wasn’t sure if it was bravery or if it was from being a bit narcissistic., but it didn’t really matter much either way. “It’s good to be happy with yourself. I usually feel pretty positive about myself.” Well, at least her external appearance.
The blond gave him a smile when he said that it was a lovely compliment. Something about this man made her not want to say something mean or be as cold as she usually was. Deirdra guessed it was because of his own kindness. Being rude to a really nice person could sometimes prove difficult. Or maybe it was because he was so confident with himself that she knew saying something cruel would really make no impact. And there was one more theory that she guessed was the correct one: Maybe she wanted him to stay with her for a while, but not to talk with, necessarily. “Well I’m glad you found something that works for you. You’re quite right, women’s clothing is generally very beautiful. Of course, I do like men too so I can understand where your style’s coming from.” She laughed and leaned back into the couch.

The man assured her that there were no strings attached. Deirdra smiled and nodded, as if accepting what he was saying. He also added that what he had just handed her could be what she made all of the time. The blond woman gazed at him for a moment. ”That’s a very good amount of money.” She bit the inside of her cheek as she thought about what she should do. Deidra also couldn’t help but notice that Roland seemed to be complimenting her. If he trying to win me over, or just being honest? She knew that she had talents, but that didn’t mean everyone would see them. Others may look upon her with no admiration at all. That was fine with her because she didn’t like those people anyway.
Roland opened his door and exited the vehicle. She watched him grab the bag from beneath his seat. He looked at her with a smile on his and then said something about finding her a room. A room? It seemed a bit odd to just move into another place when she already had an apartment. Though, her apartment wasn’t really the best and it wasn’t as if she had an emotional attachment to the building. With a smile, the woman opened her own door and stepped out onto the pavement. “I think I’d like a room. I’m sure it’s a lot nicer inside here than it is at my building.” An image of the small bedroom she stayed in entered her mind. “A lot, lot nicer.”
The man asked for her name. She turned to him and laughed. “I’m so sorry. That’s so rude of me. I’m Deirdra Sykes. It’s very nice to meet you, even if I had to watch you kill cops.” She shrugged with a small smile on her face. “I’d never seen anyone do anything like that before. Your aim’s incredible.”

((Roland is taking Deirdra to the Order in one of my threads, so I hope this is okay. ))
Meld offered to take both women to the Order then and there. Deirdra thought it over for a moment before replying with, “Tonight may not be a good night for me. You see, I should be getting home soon.” The woman glanced at a clock that hung on the bar wall. It was getting a tad late and she would have to work in the morning, not to mention sleep off whatever hangover she may have. Hangover plus office job usually equaled a big headache and a grumpy secretary. She gave the woman a small smile. “Maybe you and Sapphire can go, but I have work in the morning and I can’t afford to lose that job for anything. It’s all I got to put me through school and buy me food.”
Deirdra sighed and plopped a handful of change on the bar. It consisted of many pennies and some other assorted coins. She turned and winked at the other two women. “My version of a tip when I’m on this kind of budget.” She smirked and hopped off of the stool . The blond pulled out a pen and piece of paper and scribbled her name and number on it twice before ripping it in half and sliding one piece to each lady. “In case you ever need to get ahold of me and so we can talk sometime, if you two are interested.” She picked her purse up and sauntered out of the bar after a quick, short wave.

He said he wanted to know more about Meld. Is this going to get her into trouble? Deirdra glanced away from him. “She had some robot-looking parts and she said she used to work for the Order. I doubt she goes around talking about it all that much.” The blond looked back toward the man and smiled. “She said she prefers to work alone and I don’t think she talks to people much. She seems pretty dedicated to what she believes and she seems to have a lot of respect for the Order.” Deirdra gave a small laugh. “I don’t know what more to tell you. The robot parts were very unique and I’d never seen anything like it. I think you’d know her if you saw her.”
Roland gestured to crawl into the front seat and the woman did so. She watched as the man pulled out a wad of money with a clip on it. He offered the stack of cash and Deirdra grabbed it from him after glancing at his face. It seemed like she was judging his reaction to make sure if it was really okay to take it. After a moment of thinking, the blond slipped it into her purse. “Well thanks, but I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to pay you back. “ He said there were no strings, but still…It made her a bit uneasy being told to take money and then saying there were no attachments.
The truck pulled up into a parking lot and Roland removed the keys from the truck’s ignition and then turned to Deirdra. He asked what her answer was. With a smirk, the woman nodded. It felt a lot less awkward now that the vehicle wasn’t running. Maybe it was because she could see him better and make eye contact easier. She noticed that Roland appeared to be a bit older than herself, but still quite handsome. The blond leaned toward him slightly as she spoke. “It sounds like a very good idea. I appreciate your help and the very generous sum of money you passed to me.” She winked at him and gave him a small smirk.
