The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cool! They could meet in a casual surrounding or something so Deirdra isn't acting like a crazy person. She can be very calm and can carry on semi-normal conversations. Let me know if you have a plan already.

Sorry for the absense on the parts of Deirdra Sykes and Henrietta Braun. Things have been kind of busy and I was having a hard time making myself post. It may get a little hectic again, considering I graduate on June 5th and have a whole bunch of graduation parties coming up in a month, but that's still in the future.

Gerald wasn't making much sense to Deirdra, so she ran her fingers through her blond hair and leaned against the desk. "I'm not quite sure what to do here. I don't really have the authority to let you stay. You see, I'm the tail-end of a shift. The person whose shift this is, had to leave. There was some sort of problem or something."
Kaitlyn had to be getting stiff and she felt the small girl shift ever-so slightly. The scorpion-woman walked out from behind the desk to give her some room. She glanced up at the unusual man hanging from the ceiling. She didn't understand what it was the Gerald heard or felt from him, but she didn't sense anything.
"Well, you do seem to know him." She narrowed her eyes at him and glared. "If you cause any trouble, there will be a punishment. If need be, I will dispatch it myself." She waved her hand in the direction of Ben's room.

The man, who now clarified himself as Gerald, seemed to be flirting or...something. Deirdra wasn't sure what he was trying to do, but it made her a bit suspicious. He seemed to know Kaitlyn, or at least something, was under the desk. The woman glanced up at the mutant sitting on the ceiling, now known as Ben Carpenter.
Her eyes flitted back down to look at Gerald's face. He had said he'd like to get to know her sometime, but he was on edge and didn't actually seem too interested at the moment. When he looked at the doors, the blond narrowed her eyes as she tried to figure out what was going on. Something was off. Something about him.
"So...you want to stay in Ben's room, have I got that right?" The man on the ceiling didn't really move in any sort of response to having another person in his bedroom. Either he didn't care, or he couldn't hear. She glanced at his list. There was a Ben Carpenter on it. Maybe he wasn't lying, but he seemed too twitchy to not be up to something.
The blond was quiet for a moment and stared at the room number next to the name. "May I ask why you're acting so unusual? I'm not a big fan of inviting unknown problems into all these mutants' homes." She wasn't sure if she should've even bothered asking, but it couldn't make anything much worse at this point. They were already cornered.

Ahorta told Anthony where they were when she made the gesture. She grinned at the other woman. "We should start our own game show or tour service." Deirdra laughed and of course was joking. It seemed like Ahorta would be nervous around strangers all the time. Of course, they had even met before and she seemed nervous. Maybe it didn't really matter who you were. It was a bit sad to see someone always on edge, but inside, the blond herself was on guard even if it didn't appear that way.
Deirdra turned and smiled at Anthony when he asked if they ate there. "Well, it does seem like the most likely choice. I know it's a bit obvious, but we did say we'd give you the tour. And, yes, I do eat here at times. Though, I do enjoy eating in my room as well. I need my space at times."
The blond raised her eyebrows in surprise when he asked her out to lunch, but a grin followed. "Aren't you forward?" She chuckled. "I like that in a person. Sure, I would love to go to lunch with you. I am starting to get a bit hungry." She glanced at Ahorta and wondered if she felt left out, or just ucomfortable. Deirdra thought the young lady was pretty, but it was harder to tell with the mask. Her personality could be a bit off-setting, but mostly the blond wished she knew her better,

Deirdra waved her hand as if to wave away her apology. “Oh, it’s no big deal. Don’t worry about it. I know how life can get stressful.” In her mind she added, But, I don’t take it out on furniture. Better the couch than me, I suppose. The girl showed her hand and turned it into different weapons. “It’s pink.” She smiled at the feminine color. Hey, just because someone had a temper didn’t mean they couldn’t be girly. This Aura person was the perfect example. The blond wondered what her real name might be, but figured there was a good reason she didn’t give it.
The woman ran her hand through her blond hair again and grinned. “When I start getting noticed more as a mutant, I’m going to go by Scorpia. Right now though, I haven’t been on enough missions to be recognized as a threat.” She brought a hand to her face and tapped one of her fingers against her lips in thought.
Aura asked what a scorpion was and the blond grinned. “Well, they’re an animal with 8 legs, a tail, and a stinger, and usually have pincers. I don’t have pincers, but the rest, I can have.” Deirdra stood up and took a few steps away from the couch. With a smirk, her lower body shifted into a giant, black body with 8 scorpion legs, complete with a tail and stinger. “Also, my tail holds toxins that can kill a person with three stings. If I don’t sting them that many times though, I just paralyze them for a short amount of time.”
Deirdra looked curiously at the woman and thought about how she referred to humans. “You aren’t a human fan either, I see. I don’t blame you. I hate them too, though I’ve never killed one. I can’t bring myself to do it, for some reason. I think once I have, it’ll be easier to do. I watched Meld kill some police once. She didn’t even blink or think twice.” The woman shook her head with admiration. “She’s quite a mutant. I bet you’ve met her. She seems like someone you would get along with.” She gave Aura a friendly smile.

Deirdra grinned viciously at the young man who threatened that no one would recognize her face. “You need to control that temper of yours if you ever hope to beat me. And besides, this face is a gift to all mankind. You aren’t going to do a thing to it.” With a quick sidestep, the woman avoided the ramming and made a small grunt. It was hard to move that much body quick enough.
The order had been given to back off. This fight was over, whether the pink-haired kid realized it or not. She turned and looked back at her opponent. “Sorry, I have to go. We’ll have to finish this some other time. Keep practicing. I look forward to running into you Xs again.” The blond gave a wink and then scuttled up the side of a nearby wall, waiting for everyone to move out.

The man with the hoodie had pulled down the actual hood part. He had ears that reminded Deirdra of an elf or some sort of faerie-thing. When they started twitching, the blond felt herself smile slightly. He obviously had very good hearing, which would probably be pretty nice to have. Or maybe, it would be really loud and hard to sleep or concentrate on anything. She couldn’t really be sure, considering she didn’t have any experience with the mutation.
He was obviously nervous about something. It seemed like he was expecting someone to walk in any minute. The scorpion-woman narrowed her eyes slightly in suspicion. What if he just brought trouble to the Sanctuary? Who knows, maybe he had done something to make someone else mad. At the same time, Deirdra had been in trouble before and received help from other mutants. She couldn’t just kick him out, at least not in good conscience. She gently bit her bottom lip.
The elf-eared mutant informed the blond that the man hanging from the ceiling was named Ben. That, and that he was in some sort of trance. Deirdra glanced up at the odd mutant on the ceiling and then back at the other mutant. “Ben…” She didn’t know a Ben! What was she going to say? What if he told someone that they had been snooping and they were caught? Maybe digging around in Lisa’s business wasn’t a good idea, after all.
The woman was about to go into panic mode when a stack of papers were put on her lap. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise and then she was poked a couple times. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips and she pretended to file through some drawers. She peeked up at the new comer and grinned. “I’m new to this, would you please remind me of that man’s last name?” She batted her blue eyes in a flirty way and ran a hand through her hair.
