Full of energy and curiosity, Jeremy Williams cannot help but see the world as a giant playground. Far as he is concerned, he is on Earth to enjoy himself. Hobbies/ Interests: he loves small trinkets, video games, pranks, and oddly enough, books. Philosophy interests him. Job or part time job and description: N.A. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Mustela is afraid that one day, he will be hunted. Some part of him is convinced that any day now, the angry mobs will descend on him. Not even his parents could convince him humans won’t attack him. Special talents: His natural build, perfect for gymnastics, only helps his mutation’s trend towards “sleek, efficient, and fuzzy.” He has a talent for slithering into tight spaces and climbing, which is helped greatly by his mutation.
He is confident on the street, being at home in larger population centers. Jeremy remembers streets and landmarks very well, but cannot manage so well in the country, and is lost when away from the lights of the city, even with a map. Because of this, Mustela loves everything the city has to offer, and ignores anything that happens outside his chosen “habitat”. Walking down the toughest neighborhood? Maybe. Visiting a farm? Never. Morality Flexible Good. Jeremy Williams was raised to be kind, polite, and loyal to his friends, and that is how he will act. But, once he decides a person is bad, they are in for a lifetime of torture. He would think nothing of slashing the tires of a hated human supremacist or kicking a super villain while they are down. At times, his revenge takes subtle forms, with the offender suffering many small inconveniences. Mutations Mutation description: Weasel Boy! Mustela’s body mimics a ferret or weasel; whether genetically or simply through appearance is anyone‘s guess. The soft brown hair covering his body appears to be animal in nature, his claws seem genuinely mustelid in nature, and his nose is elongated into a snout, if only slightly. However, Jeremy has a special affinity for cities, and this may suggest that his “weaselification” is part of a general adaptation to survive in large population centers. Strengths: Mustela can tell people apart by smell, and has a limited tracking ability, being able to pick up a scent left behind minutes ago to follow it to its source. His claws, while not sharp enough to cut a person, are useful in grasping objects and climbing, and with his flexible body, he finds many uses for a ferret-like appearance. Weaknesses: Jeremy has poor eyesight. He is shortsighted, due to his mutation, and refuses to wear glasses. He claims the shortsightedness is somehow a trade-off for his sense of smell, and believes that his nose is a better tool than his eyes anyway. Mustela also has trouble dealing with open spaces. He is at home in the city, among skyscrapers and tunnels. The prairies and fields frighten him a bit, and the lack of interesting people and pretty lights mean he is unlikely to take any field trips to a farm. His “weaselification” left him more vulnerable to psychic attack, and while he can eat different foods, he is a carnivore now, and being deprived of his meal of choice will cause malnutrition and eventual starvation. Fighting Style None. Explanation: Jeremy seems at first to be a poor fighter, as he is not gifted with any other animal traits besides his appearance, and a slight boost to his senses and agility, which allow him much in the way of climbing. However, his natural flexibility makes him an opponent to watch out for. He slips out of holds and easily dances away from awkward swings, all the while looking for an escape or a way to strike back. Pros for fighting style: Mustela is not afraid of professional wrestlers, and anyone slow or dimwitted presents no trouble, as Jeremy is not above running away or cheating in a fight. Cons for fighting style: Being punched and kicked hurts. And, since many, many people are faster than him, Mustela knows this personally. Also, because Jeremy never learned anything about combat, he makes mistakes when faced with real fighting and may freeze up if his enemy displays a particularly strange or dangerous-looking fighting style. Faction Allegiance Unaffiliated: Looking to join X-men. History Of Your Character: Jeremy Williams is the son of Richard Williams and Helen Williams. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, he grew up hearing of small wonders and great. He grew up with urban myths of Zen Blade and Wall Creeper, local mutants imbued with small talents that worked as vigilantes. Of course, few people ever saw those two, and any reports given about them were probably as much fantasy as fact, but stories of them sparked something in Jeremy. He wanted to be a hero. His parents, strangely enough, did not disapprove. Helen once knew an X-man, and though lost track of the fellow, kept fond memories of the mutant. Richard even felt some regret for not being “better” than the average man, though his keen intelligence and a talent for knowing how to sell insurance may have been caused by a mutation(not every psychic is Charles Xavier, you know)… Painfully soon, however, Jeremy’s happy childhood turned into adolescence. Suddenly faced with hard classes at school and the growing city around him for the first time triggered a slow transformation. It was so gradual, he barely noticed it. In no time at all, his finger nails had turned into claws and his nose began to sense smells like no other, while his vision grew worse. He began to grow large, tough hair all over his body that turned into a smooth fur coat. He found himself wandering the city streets with more confidence than ever. His natural flexibility, and stories of Wall Creeper inspired him to learn to climb and fit into small spaces, emulating what he saw himself becoming with every day. Jeremy knew he was turning into a weasel, and wanted more than anything to make use of this “talent“. His parents did not seem alarmed, and though they cautioned him constantly about other people, and tried to keep him looking as human as possible. It was they that finally hit upon the idea of outfitting him in a trench coat and baggy, heavy clothing to hide any changes. The outfit proved useful in fooling most people into assuming the kid was just strange, and Jeremy Williams avoided detection by both government witch hunts and human supremacists. But, eventually, Jeremy decided it was time to change his residence. His change, far from being a horrible experience, was a gradual becoming that did not push away his family, and in fact made his parents proud, if only in secret, that their child is something beautiful and new. However, Mustela, as he occasionally called himself, both as a joke and as a sign of pride in his new look, believed a small city like Denver was no place for a mutant. He felt claustrophobic, locked-in, in the city, despite its great size. It was as if his normal territory was meant to be both bigger and more complex. So, working as secretly as possible, his parents sent him out to New York, to join the X-men and finish his education. It cost much, and his parents can no longer help him. But, with his paperwork turned in, his classes scheduled, and his life blossoming into weasel-hood, Jeremy is ready to deal with other mutants, and the future. Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: Googling for special X-men RP forum. Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: No. Sample RP: The questions never had to leave Jeremy’s lips. As he looked out across the street, a small part of him examined the feelings released by the might of New York City. Why do I love this? What about this sparks my instincts? The answer, he knew, lay deep in his genetic code. Unlike many mutants gifted with superhuman strength and a graceful appearance by their change into an animal, Jeremy was stuck with a good nose and a strange appearance. “Hey, you there, you wanna move outta the way?“ a bicyclist passed Jeremy Williams. “A good day to you, too.” Mustela said, grinning, showing off his teeth. “Jesus! Freaking muties…” the human pedaled faster, away from the strange monster. “Hmm. First Impression on a city full of people that you want to befriend. Check. Now, to find where that school is…” Jeremy pulled out a map, wrinkled in his backpack, and looked over it. As he did so, he sniffed the air. Always pays to be careful. Somewhere in front of him, the smell of blood and anger. Drugs, too, from the subtle undertone of menace the smell carried. “Great. I’m far from the school, and I got to deal with this.” Jeremy sighed grumbling under his breath, putting the map away. He needed to get from George Washington Bus Station to Xavier’s before sundown, and now he had some drunk coming his way. “I’m a big scary weasel. I’m a big…” “Hey, mister! Spare some change?” “Aiee!” Mustela jumped nearly a foot in the air as the drunk, hairy thing extended its claw to him. “Um. Sorry. Can’t.” Jeremy quickly picked up his backpack, moving past the surprised bum. “I’m not THAT scary.” mumbled the old fellow, teetering on his feet before passing the ferret-morph. First day in a new city, and he already managed to freak two people out. Brilliant. Feeling like a total idiot, Jeremy attempted to blend in best as he could. As he walked deeper into the city, he felt himself growing more familiar with the places around him. The constant masses of people, the cars, the lights, all soothed him like nothing in Denver did. Even the garbage smelled inviting. Jeremy began to wonder what made him so paranoid, at first. Must have been the sudden change of climate, going from his small city to this. Plus the horror stories of big, bad New York City did not help. Now, those stories seemed foolish, among the green leaves and gleaming metal. As he made his way down Sherman Avenue, he wondered what to expect from the school. Would he make friends? Would he be “cool”? Who were his teachers? The last rays of sunlight played across his face. A flash of fire sprang into his eyes. Whatever questions he had, he was Home.
