The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Roland mentioned something about a place with mutants more like themselves. She listened as she turned back and slid into the pants he had stolen from the officer. She wondered if he could see her at all, but didn’t really care either way. Deirdra wasn’t the type of woman to disapprove of any sort of attention. Besides, if he could see her, that’d only give her more reason to try to hit on him. Peeking at someone was a type of flirting, in a way. Kind of creepy, but still, it showed one had interest in another person. The blond wasn’t into serious things anyway, so if someone liked her just for her looks, that was fine with her.
When she was finished, Deirdra looked over the side of the seat so she was able to see him as they spoke to one another. The Sanctuary? Interesting. An image of Meld entered her mind. “A woman told me about a group called the Order. She went by Meld. I had never seen anything quite like her before. She seems the type to go around getting into a bit of trouble.” The blond smirked and leaned back in one of the rear seats. She had found the cyborg-looking woman very impressive and quite honest about the things she had done, even if they were illegal. She did what she thought was right and Deirdra had to admire that.
He said that he could help her maintain her regular job. Deirdra sat straight up again and glanced at the back of his head. [i[He could really do that? That would be amazing, not to mention he offered a new kind of job.[/i] She smiled. “Actually, if I got a new job, I wouldn’t really need to continue my current one as a dentist’s secretary. So if what you’re saying about me being able to do something else is true, I’m in.” The woman looked down at her bare feet and then glanced out the rear window before letting out a sigh. I can never wear anything nice with this power.

Deirdra watched as the mutant man caught the female officer's gun and shot all of them. The blond was a bit startled and glanced at him. Did he really just kill a group of cops? She blinked and felt a small smirk crawl onto her face. She wasn't quite sure why it was there, but it just was. There was nothing funny about the situation and her life was probably going to be over now, at least the life she knew. She made a decision that she couldn’t go back on, but she supposed that was life. The smirk was more out of shock.
With a sigh, she glanced at the bag he offered to her. It was all the things he had stolen. Deirdra looked up into his face and then shook her head ‘no’. “Thank you for the offer, but I helped you because I couldn’t watch another mutant get killed. Not because I wanted something from you, but really, thank you.” The blond nodded when he said she could change in the back of the car. “That would probably be best. I’d prefer not to get in trouble for this. I was leading a normal life with a normal job, but that ship has probably sailed.”
The woman crawled into the back of the SUV and motioned for Roland to pass her the pants. "Come on. I really want to get out of here." There was no way she would even begin to turn back into her other form without having the bottoms within arm’s reach. She could just see that ending badly, not to mention that she noticed that the man was handsome. The presence of handsome men and with Deirdra being a flirt, well, she just needed some pants.

Deirdra had been walking home from work. It always seems to start that way. She had a long, uneventful day and was excited to get home. She wore a skirt that came about mid-thigh and a lowcut shirt. Her venture home continued until she heard shouting. She turned to see a group of police officers around a jewerly store, yelling for some guy named 'Pruitt' to put his gun down. The woman raised an eyebrow and inched a little closer to the scene. The next thing that caught her ear was something about 'mutie tricks' and 'mutations'. Her eyes narrowed slightly. Hmm...This could be interesting.
She walked up behind one of the police. "Excuse me, what's going on here?" The cop turned and looked at her and then glanced at her bare legs. He looked to be in his late 30s and had a tired look in his eye. "Some guy's robbing the store. He's a mutant that's caused some trouble in the past." He sighed and turned back to the 'Pruitt' man. Deirdra glanced at the mutant in the alleyway. So he's a mutant too. An image of the mutants that had helped her when she needed it popped into her mind. What if he needed help?
The woman took a deep breath as her legs began to stretch out and expand into a hard, outershell with many legs. After having a moment to harden even more, the lower half of her body turned a deep black and a tail appeared. She looked half scorpion and half woman. Her skirt now lay on the ground in shreds, but it didn't matter. This wasn't the first or the last time, she suspected, that this would happen. Her mutation was different and powerful. She wouldn't stop using it because it ripped her pants here and there.
One of the cops turned around and yelled. The blond grinned and hit him with the tip of her tail, releasing toxins into his body. It would paralyze him for at least 10 minutes and the effects began to show. The man turned pale and fell to the ground. A female officed pointed a gun at her and Deirdra jumped onto the hood of one of the cars. The secretary from the dentist's office swung her tail around and knocked the gun out of the other woman's hands. Turning to the other mutant, she tilted her head. It was her way of telling him to go.

The blond couldn't help but laugh when he said that she didn't know what she was missing. "Maybe that's true. I really don't know." She had never tried to be with another woman. It didn't seem appealing to her even if it would be a form of attention. Juka said he liked to dress different, but not to get people's attention. Deirdra thought that was why someone dressed differently in the first place, but it seemed that that wasn't the man's logic. She set her orange juice down on the coffee table and turned to look at the man who also resembled a woman.
"Do you dress like this only to look different or do you enjoy seeming a bit like a man and a woman at the same time. You probably appeal to more audiences if you're a bit like both." She crossed her left leg over her right and hoped that he wouldn't take her questions negatively. Deirdra took another sip of her juice and then decided to clear up the situation. "I'm just curious. I hope I'm not offending you or anything. I think you're very lovely. When I first saw you, I couldn't tell if you were male or female. You could really pass for either, which seems to be your goal."

Meld said she ‘never gave her family a chance to call the cops’. Deirdra wasn’t quite sure what she meant by that, especially when she added that her family’s last encounter hadn’t been pretty. The blond had a few ideas of what she was talking about, but figured that she probably didn’t need the details. The alcohol had already made her a bit nauseous and gory images wouldn’t help with that, it may literally make her be sick. The woman guessed that the bartender wouldn’t appreciate the disgusting mess that could be made by her upset stomach.
The cyborg-woman said she could introduce both Deirdra and Sapphire to the Order. The blond situated herself on the stool and glanced at Meld. “You could really do that? Hmm,” she paused. “I think I would like to meet them. They sound like they’re my kind of mutants. If you ever have the time, please introduce me. I can give you my number so you can reach me.” She glanced at Sapphire. “What about you? Maybe we could go at the same time. It’s nice to know someone ahead of time, in my opinion.”

When the man said that orange juice would suffice, Deirdra began to fill the other glass with the pulpy beverage. After she had finished pouring, the woman put the cap back on the jug and shoved it into the refridgerator. She came and sat next to Juka with an orange juice in each hand. The blond held one out to him and smiled. She listened as he told about his band. "Very cool." He guessed that she liked attention too and the woman looked off to the side with a smirk on her face. "It's that obvious, huh?" She paused. "Yes, I do like attention. I like it in almost any form. I don't care if it's a man or woman looking at me, as long as someone is." Deirdra glanced down at her drink.
"I don't like women the way I like men, but I don't mind if they like me." She realized how shallow it all sounded. It didn't really matter what people thought of her because there would always be someone who didn't care. Someone who just thought she was beautiful and would spend a night with her and then leave again. Even if it wasn't the correct kind of attention, it was still attention. Deirdra wasn't a psychologist or anything of the like, but she figured that most of those issues came from her lack of attention she had received as a child. She had left her home when she was thirteen. The woman had grown up fast and learned to appreciate anybody's eyes on her.
"Sounds terrible and narcissistic, doesn't it?" She shook her head and laughed. The laugh wasn't a happy one, it was something that had no humor in it at all. Lifting her glass to her lips, she took a drink of orange juice and then sighed. "So, Juka, you say you like attention too. Does it matter to you where it comes from? If you don't mind my asking, of course."

The blond walked over to her fridge and flung it open. She stuck her head in and looked around. "Well, I've got orange juice, milk, and beer." She furrowed her eyebrows together as she looked at the odd assortment. Deirdra pulled her head back out and looked at Juka. "I need groceries, I think." She laughed and pulled out the orange juice. "Oh, there's always water too. I've got plenty of it." The woman gestured to the faucet with a nod. Walking over to a cabinet, she opened it and pulled out two glasses. One was for when the man decided what he wanted. She wasn't a fan of just picking something out for someone. It made her feel a little uncomfortable.
She began to fill one glass with orange juice and then smiled at Juka. "So I notice you're pretty into fashion. When did you start getting so interested?" This was a nice way of asking why he dressed like a girl. Honestly, it didn't really matter to Deirdra, but it could make for some good conversation. At least she was hoping it could. If not, she could just say something else or ask him to leave or whatever. Either way didn't make much of a difference at this point. The blond was tired enough that she may have been able to sleep, but could still be awake for a while if she tried. What happened next all really depended on Juka. She took a sip of her orange juice and tilted her head, waiting to see what he had to say.

Sapphire spoke about her family. Her mom had been a mutant and her father had not, though they had been happy that way. Deirdra looked away and down. Thinking of her own family made the blond feel a tad bit like she may be sick all over the bar's countertop. She then looked back up at the other at her. "You're very lucky then. Meld sounds like she's in the same boat as myself, to an extent. It wasn't so much disowning as it was, oh I don't know, trying to get me shot or something. My dumb b*tch of a stepmother had hated me from day one. When I turned into a giant half-scorpion, it just made a great excuse to get rid of me. She called the police and I took off." The woman shrugged.
Both Meld and Sapphire seemed similar to Deirdra. It was odd to meet two other people who's opinions were so much like her own. She was used to being on the outside of things and feeling as though she was the only one who ever thought in such horrible ways about humans. Of course, deep down she knew that there were others, but she had never seen then or talked to them. Under the blond's tough exterior, she was just wounded and angry. Most of her rage came from the way she was treated as a child. It hadn't been good even when she had been human, so having the cops called on her shouldn't have really been such a big surprise to the woman.
Meld mentioned a group called 'The Order'. Deirdra's brow raised in curiosity. "Really? That's quite interesting." She took a small sip of tequila and had decided it would be a good idea to slow down the intake. The woman glanced down at her glass and made the choice to stop after her current beverage. She could only take in so much and still remain lucid. When she got too drunk, Deirdra had a tendency to flirt with anything with legs. It didn't matter if they were men or women. The attention would become the only that mattered and hitting on these two women didn't seem like a great idea.

Juka said something about the south, but Deirdra assumed he had meant west. She chuckled slightly to herself and looked at the interesting man. “I’m from out west. Wyoming, remember? Anyway, it’s not that amazing. There’s a lot of nature, if that’s the kind of things you like. There are geysers out there and they can be quite amazing.” The blond crinkled her nose. “Although they do stink and smell like rotten eggs. There’s an abundance of them in Yellowstone National Park. Needless to say, I didn’t visit that park very often.”
It seemed that Juka wanted to come in as well. She walked to the front door of the apartment building and unlocked it. Turning to the man, she motioned for him to follow. “I’m on the second floor. We’ll have to take the stairs.” Deirdra began to walk up the flight of stairs. She continued her ascent until she tripped on a step. With an angry sigh, she bent over to unhook her heels. When she bent over, her small shorts pulled. After taking them off, she turned around and gave him a smile. “Alright, almost there.”
When they arrived to her doorway, she unlocked it and stepped inside part way. The blond leaned in the entrance to her apartment and gave a sexy smirk. Then, Deirdra went inside the rest of the way after a moment. “Come in, come in. You want anything? A drink? Or..I don’t know.”

Juka pointed in the opposite direction of their travel and she raised an eyebrow. She thought it was funny that he said nothing, just kind of gestured. Something about the non-specificness of it was just humorous to her. Maybe in that way, they were similar. Deirdra had a habit of being quite vague at times. If possible, she wouldn't share anything we almost anybody. She had some major trust issues and knew it. There was no desire in her to see a counselor for it or to try to work on it by herself. It was the way she was, and she was satisfied with that.
The blond walked next to the interesting man and listened to him speak. He asked her how long she had been in the city. She bit her lip as she tried to recall. "Well, since I was 18, so five years. I'm 22 now and I came here right after I finished high school. Not a very long time in comparison to others." She shrugged and continued to walk. Glancing at Juka, she smiled. "I can agree that there are more mutants here then where I've lived in the past. On the other hand, I'm from Wyoming. I then lived in North Dakota for five years before I came here. The west is where I come from, which is funny considering my mutation is a scorpion." Deirdra laughed. "There are quite a few types of scorpions out there in the deserts."
There were about a block from her apartment. She nodded toward and pointed at the building. "That's my building up here." The woman was debating what to do. Should she just make him go away or let him come in? She was quite tired, but he had been as kind as to escort her in the total opposite direction of his building. "You can come in for a while or something if you want. You've been such a gentlemen." She smiled at him as she got closer to her apartment's front door.

Deirdra glanced at Sapphire as she spoke. No, she didn’t sound like her sister. The blond didn’t really care for people, even if they were innocent. Or maybe, in a way, she did. She would never harm a child or someone who didn’t threaten her in anyway. If she felt that they, then she couldn’t be as bad as she had made herself sound. Part of her didn’t want to have feelings for anything or anyone, but she wasn’t a sociopath. She had been tested when she was younger. Even when she didn’t know she was a mutant, Deirdra had not been good at expressing emotions. She had barely ever cried, even if something had hurt very bad. Emotions were a weakness, she realized, but anger had a way of overtaking her at times anyway. She hated it, but couldn’t stop it most of the time. Anything involving mutant children and something terrible happening made her snap. The blond assumed that it had to do with what she had gone through.
Humans are a convenience? More like an inconvenience. She turned away as Sapphire continued her little speech, but still listened. It seemed as though this other woman did have some good ideas. She said she thought that the enemy was whoever opposed her. It made sense and the blond nodded as she listened. “I agree with that, but I have a tendency to hate humans more than mutants. I don’t mind human children and the people who accept what we are, but the others, I hate the others. Mutants took me in after my human parents called the cops on me when my ability surfaced. There were some more unfortunate events after that,” the woman waved her hand as if to dismiss it, “but complaining won’t change anything. If someone is to make this world better, they should act on it and not just sit there whining. You know?”
Meld spoke about what kind of humans she hated. It was similar to Deirdra’s way of judging people and it was logical, which is probably why all three woman seemed to have the idea. The other two mutants seemed to do some of the things they did for money. The blond did like money, but her motives didn’t lie in greed. They were coated with loathing and feeling abandoned by everyone. “Meld’s right. Lots of people have had bad things happen. It’s part of life. Also, how horrible one thing is may be a different type of horrible for another. It seems that people who experience a lot of bad things become stronger.” Well, stronger--or crazy, but there was no reason to add that in there since it was the only other option.
“I’d like to find some others with the same kind of ideals as us three and maybe start something that could actually make difference. I have no idea where I’d find these people though. They don’t usually just crawl out of the woodwork.” She sighed and took a small drink of tequila.

Juka deposited his anvils on top of a building. She raised an eyebrow as she watched him float to the top of a building. The woman found it interesting that his bubble was able to hold so much weight and not burst. I'll have to keep the saying 'burst your bubble' in mind when with him. I may actually be able to make him laugh or something. Deirdra had never been a very funny woman. She was smart, angry, and quite beautiful, but not funny. She supposed that if she had to drop a quality, it probably would've been humor anyway.
For the first time since they had met, the man stood on the ground. No bubble in sight either. She smiled at him. They were actually on the same level now, literally. Although she had found the bubble quite amazing, she had not liked that he had appeared high than her. Deirdra had never done well with authority or others who thought they were better than her. Maybe that little problem had stemmed from her parental figures, but it didn't really matter any longer. She was her own person and would do as she saw fit.
The blond turned her head toward Juka quickly when he said there were mutants at this so called 'mansion'. She narrowed her eyes and wondered if they wanted to be there or if they were forced. And if they weren't forced, did they interact well with humans or were they more like her, with hatred in their hearts? He said there was quite a variety of abilities and she could only imagine. Deirdra couldn't begin to comprehend all of the abilities that a mutant could have. She wasn't even sure if there was some kind of limit on them. Maybe they could be as big and complex as they wanted and maybe some were unstoppable. She shook her head in an attempt to make the thoughts leave. "So Juka, you live in an apartment building not far from here either, hm? Is it in this direction or the other?"

Thanks for the reply. I'll try to think of an idea in the next few days. I'm really tired and I won't be on at all Friday. I will most definitely get back to you though.
