The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
Actually, additional thought: the plot will, basically, be the kidnapping/being hunted section, followed/ended by the escape/rescue adventure. How long does everyone want the being hunted part to last? A week, a month? However long it is kidnapped characters won't be able to interact with non-kidnapped people for that time, though if different lengths are wanted some people can just start earlier. So: How long does everyone want to be kidnapped for?
This is what I have to add: (hopes it is coherent)
I think that there should be two options for length of time, as some might now care if their character vanished for a month, and others might find it hard to fit into time lines, or other plots. The plot could be set for three or four weeks, and it would fall upon the individual joining to decide how long his/her character has been there. I know Megan will be missing for at least a week or longer, so say when someone who only wishes to have been gone for a short period of times joins, he/she will simply reference it in the posts. It would probably be a lot like in AoS, where people have little solo's to explain what has happened to the character in the three year span, no?
I would assume that if Amber (I believe) is going to be the one who escapes and alerts the authorities/X's to the island, it would probably take at the least, three days for her to get back to the states, or to an authority figure.
I need to get ahold of Amber to be sure, but yes, unless she changes her mind it's planned to be her that escapes and gets help. Potentially other people could escape as well, either simultaneously or just after she does, since she'll have made a hole in the fence and killed or injured the guarding sea mutant.
As to time, while the plot will have to end at essentially the same time for everyone, there's no reason we can't have a new person kidnapped ever day, if that's what we want. If I know when everyone wants to join, I can make up a timeline of when everyone's kidnapped and gets to the island and when it ends, too.
Now imagine that rich guy suspended half a mile over a desert island, hanging upside-down from an invisible rope attached to an invisible balloon, thrashing about, screaming for help, and striking fear in the hearts of his comrades.
Allison do you know if this thread will run after cs's mansion thread. I'm having Teddy get kidnapped for both and I was mainly curious if one would lead into another. We could have the owner of the island maybe purchase mutants from a third party buyer anonymously and that could be how they get Teddy. Just a thought not sure how you were working this.
I don't know when this is running, or anything about the mansion thread, but if the mansion thread is happening now/soon, I'd assume this one will probably be later. How much later might be an issue, though.
Yay! I will be home and have reliable internet again tomorrow; I think I'll send the plot to the mods then, so we can figure out exactly when it will happen.
Alright, so. Amber seems to be missing, which is a problem since she was going to end this plot. In case she doesn't get back, what do we want to have happen? Someone else escape and tell the X-men? X-men track down the island somehow and interfere without any escapes being necessary? Something else?
