The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
I have no idea, honestly. I'm half hoping a mod will drop in here, but if not I'm planning to pester them once I have a little clearer an idea what I'm pestering them about.
I want to toss in ideas, but my brain refuses to function past letting me form the words I'm currently typing... Still, Megan would be in, and once i'm not sedated I could help come up with environments and/or people.
*Salutes Allison and Markus, others involved for being the brainstormers for the awesome idea*
I don't think how close it is would make too much difference, at least ICly; anyone who gets there would probably be by plane, and anyone who's kidnapped there could easily be kept unconscious for the flight; that'd be easy to just skip over. The only issue would be getting back to NYC once the plot ends, which would be an issue from any sufficiently isolated location. Though, I am now thinking that the Japanese government would probably be able to watch/be aware of what happened on any islands too close to them. Various governments could see anywhere, really, but a sufficiently isolated place I think they wouldn't bother to watch (or we could just say that whoever does know doesn't care). (Or were you just thinking of something else?)
Their indigenous with plant life and for the Galapagos islands their diverse in setting and enviorments. But perhaps we could make the setting on a set of islands similar to the Galapagos. Also I should take this time to pitch in an idea for mutant hunters. Perhaps mutants that have little to no brain activity and are used as hounds track the mutants they are hunting.
My two cents on the location is that if they're able to fly a bunch of mutants to some remote location, why can't they just make a place to put them? A few of the humans running the hunt might just manufacture an island. Make the mutants think they're on some isolated island when really they're in the woods of Northern Canada type thing. That's my two cents. *waves two pennies before throwing them into the air*
I think Sarah is right about that. If they're very wealthy individuals that are running the place, no reason they couldn't isolate and defend a plot of land on the continent rather than going overseas. Northern Canada would be a good choice of location, in that case as its both isolated and sparsely populated.
*watches two cents become important* If the humans have mindless hunters, why not someone who does a force field, or something? Mutant force field so mutant stays alive? These are bad people right? Why not have them be worse? *throws two more pennies into the air*
