The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"F*ck, there's a lot of them." Why did bigots always proliferate like rabbits? Ick. Maya mirrorhopped to the roof to shoot from a better vantage point. "Is the chick from SUPER really coordinating this?!" Maya grumbled through the comms. Sam, on his part, was already on his way... through the air, to the gates, summoning up a line of mirrors. Maya fired a few arrows from the roof. "Did they just bring a whale to a...?" What was this? A gunfight? Partly. An X-mission? Yup. A battle where she was suddenly on the same side as Aura, a dozen witches, and, to reiterate, the head of SUPER?...
Mirrors were summoned, and she had a job to do. "On my way!" Maya merged into an ice mirror and ran through the reflections, hopping out of one of the mirrors by the gates. Mystics did not expect that. Instead of shooting, she grabbed on and yanked her into the mirrorworld. "PSA, WITCHES!" She yelled as she moved over to repeat the move from another mirror. "YOU BREAK THE MIRROR, IT BREAKS YOU. STAY PUT. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T..." down went the second mystic "... WARN YA."
Javier looked out the window in time to see the skunk girl... do as skunk does, in a mystic's general direction. It was very effective. Still, she was a kid, and she was alone in the back of the Mansion grounds. "Stay back!" he warned Booker before he vaulted out the window, sticking (more or less) a landing among the bushes. Another mystic was cursing (in this case, literally) as he approached; before he could finish the sentence, Javier managed to punch him, knocking him clear through the nearby hedge. "Oops, shoot... you think he'll be okay?..."
"So, what's the pl..." Serena began to ask as battle erupted, but it soon became clear that there really was no plan. "Oookay then, free for all it is." She muttered, walking up to the door of the foyer as she felt Hercules' powers pull on hers. "Take it easy, Herc!" She warned him as he threw himself (and others) gleefully into a fight. Serena felt somewhat useless, apart from her role as a magic battery. Her eyes scanned the battlefield, mystics flying, running, and throwing spells left right and center. So inelegant. One of them, a very suburban looking lady, however, managed to rattle off a series of incantations, resulting in an effect akin to those fireworks that, instead of shooting in a straight line, fizzle in multiple random directions. Selena reached up, yanking her sunglasses over her eyes. "HEX INCOMING!"
The librarian leans forward, following Javi to look out the window. He watches as one of the mutant girls is attacked by a mystic and immediately nods as he steps back, watching Javi jump out the window. Booker can only watch as the tailor runs forward and punches one of the mystics and sending them hurtling away. Unable to control himself, Booker shoots his arms into the air and shouts.
"Yeeeah!! You got 'him, babe!!" He laughs.
As he shouts this, though, there is a swirling dark vortex around him as another mystic seems to be sending summoning forth something inside the mansion. By the time Booker turns around he blinks in surprise as a pair of imps growl and sneer at him. The trio stare at one another closely before the imps suddenly shout and jump scare him.
Booker screams and brings down the baseball bat as hard as he can onto their heads.
She shouldn't be here. She knew that. She wasn't an X-Man. From what she had learned about her past, maybe at some point there was some lofty ideas but clearly all of that fell out. Now that she had been deaged and had a second chance, she was all about finding who she really and truly wanted to be. She wanted to live and not have to think about all that bull she suffered through just for being different. She had a second chance.
She she heard about her. Agatha. Evangelical and a mystic. Talk about double standards. Agnes couldn't believe it when she learned that information. But she had and with the attack coming upon the X-Men, she had to act.
Stalking through the woods surrounding the mansion, Agnes had sent out several of her insect scouts but keeping the royal guard near her. Most of her journey had been quiet but she eventually came across a couple of mystics who were in the middle of a summoning circle. They talked too loud. They screamed even louder when the flies and bees began to sting and bite them. Normally the young woman was more reserved and gentle, but now it seemed like something primordial was waking up inside of her. She could feel it writhing and twisting, something that wanted to hatch out of her body and present her with the strength she needed to finish what needed to be finished.
Wait...what? Didn't she just want to talk? Try to figure things out? Convince her because they were family? No. Sting. Bite. Consumeeee. She could feel the darker voice rolling through the back of her head. She'd never heard or felt this way before, at least that she knew. So why was she feeling it now. The mystics...had to be.
With a soft growl on her voice, and a sense that she was going the right way, Agnes pressed on in search for the mystic known as Agatha.

“You think I like it?” Sam asked not caring if the channel was open. “I trust her about as much as she trusts me.” Mirror started pulling mystics into the reflections making their abilities useless. “but you want to take over for her and leave me to deal with all of these @#$@’s alone?” Sam asked as he threw another mystic towards an empty reflection.
Something warm whizzed by as Sam ducked. He did not know what they were throwing at him but knew it would have been better if he was not hit. That was his rule about most fights so this wasn’t too out of the ordinary... except the whale. He didn’t know what that was about still but figured Hercules, Rex and the others could handle it before it got to the school.
Sam’s amor split from him forming a clone, another one appeared from one of the mirrors making it a little smaller when the ice material left. “Kill the muties!” a mystic shouted as they ran past a few of the mirrors with their fellow mystics banging on the ice for help. “Kill the-” Sam caught the mystic in the face and broke his nose with a quick jab sending him falling onto the ground. One of the clones jumped him freezing him to the ground. “You’re all trespassing!” the icemancer shouted.
It was too early to tap into his Winter Wonderland ability. The fight just started. “Sabine, turn on the sprinklers. I need a power up. Jorge could use one as well.” he said joking with his teammate. The air got colder the further he moved towards the gates. Mirrors of ice and golems shot out of the snowbanks when he approached grabbing anyone who was close.
“I’m Carrick O’Conner and I am live streaming the fight! Mystics approached and are attacking me home! @!@>!ing Bigots. Hope y’all like the content and subscribe... Be great inspiration fer a song!” the shifter said holding the phone in front of him as he shifted it up towards his partner in crime.
“Say hi Zek!” he then turned it to a few people who were trailing him in the air. “These chuckle @#$#s think they can compete with me in the air. Kids... don’t try this at home!” he’d splice some sound in later but turned his flight pattern into a dive. It was enough warning for Zek, the man had been flying with him for a few years now. He was busy however dropping a car or something else heavy as they flew overhead.
Mismatched colored eyes focused on a plant grabbing some people before he was distracted by an explosion next to one of his wings. “Taking fire.” he said calmly as he maneuvered away from the people chasing him in the air. The phone remained in front of him facing backwards.
Flashes of light exploded near his wings as he started to make his way for the trees. It was his home, he had flown this path thousands of times they had not to mention there was a plant chick grabbing everyone in sight. Before he could make cover for the trees his wing was clipped by an explosion. It was small but enough to set a wing on fire, “@!#@*er! Going down! Zekky! Need a portal!”

There is a burst of water in the air. Looking up will discover the MRC detective propelling himself through the air with bursts of water. Carefully he controls his landing until he lands next to CS and pulls his arm up, summoning a wall of water which catches a flying mass of ethereal thorns and diverting them off to the side.
Jorge smirks as he glances to CS. "Already running dry?" He asks. "And here I thought your drip never ran dry..."
Jorge has a couple minor cuts and scratches upon his face, but nothing something he seems overly concerned about.
That is until there is a menacing screech coming from the air. Jorge looks up as a couple of flying mystics appear, weaving arcane symbols in order to summon vortexes of wind upon the duo.

Sabine was used to coordinating larger strike teams, but this was different. The X-Men were trained… well, it would be disingenuous to say they were trained poorly, but they were trained differently. They fought like heroes; it was flashy and it hinged heavily on the abilities of individuals. Annoying, but she would live.
Then again, her own people were good at annoying her, too. Sabine groaned, but at least Hugh was in keeping levity in the stress. “A reminder that these are open comms, Mann. No kiss, but I maybe a drink for all the agents who make it out.” Thankfully, Pippa was not on scene or on comms. Little blessings.
At least Amelia was on task. “Roger. From the cameras and reports, it sounds like most of them are making their way through the woods. Seems like some leapers and teleporters are getting to the courtyard faster than the others. Watch your ass, Metilus.”
One of the X-Leaders chimed in Amelia’s ear, Mirror, followed by Cold Steel, both talking about her in a way a more emotionally attuned person would call rude. Sabine just sighed. “Once again. Open comms.”
Heroes were so quippy, but it was still nice working with people who understood their own strengths and how to use them. At Sam’s request, Sabine enabled the irrigation system across the grounds, causing sprinkler heads to splash to life. “CS, Neptune, we’re watering the battlefield. Enjoy.”

To the gates, to the gates, to the gates gates gates came the cavalry song in his head. He had heard CS joking, but— why not offer backup if he could?
Seemed Jorge and Sam could use some. As he was approaching from the air, he saw two airborne mystics surrounded by— okay so they were literally being borne upon the air. Wind was buffeting around them, and kept them aloft.
“Incoming, Jorge and Sam.” He said into the communicator. Then, the golden knight poured on some speed. Porygon accelerated, and Shard leaned forward and hunkered down against the winds surrounding the spellcasters. It battered against his armor and made his teeth shake. The whole area surrounding them was also colder by several degrees, just from windchill. He held his sword against Porygon, by its side, and just manipulated all the shards on his armor and that of his mounts to reduce wind resistance. Then, he struck!
Like a golden comet, he streaked through the sky. A golden comet on a pink and purple polygonal duck. Shard struck the mystics from the side, coming in on their blind spots. The vortexes crashing down on the Sam Jorge duo rapidly cut off, as two mystics changed their focus to staying aloft. His blunted blade had caught them, and sent them tumbling for a moment. As they caught themselves, they turned towards him to fire off more wind. Evasive maneuvers were engaged as he drew in the shards that had formed his blade, and began to focus on reforming them into a beach ball sized golden orb.
Ten seconds, twelve. Thirteen. At about twenty, he turned and aimed his hand like a gun from about twenty feet away. There was a sphere of shards there, glowing.
“Spirit gun.” He shouted. It flew the intervening distance, through the winds, to knock one of the two mystics out of the air. The second cast a spell, to save her comrade. A feather fall type spell, like a warm summer breeze. While she was distracted, Shin dismissed the spent shards from the sphere, and reformed part of his armor into a second ball. He aimed, and— the second she looked back at him, fired! She caught herself with the same feather fall spell, as she tumbled down in front of Jorge, injured.
Shin launched himself down to follow her. Landed in front of the duo, on Porygon. He climbed off as she groggily considered her options. Patted his Pokémon’s flank.
“Porygon, Sharpen.”
The ducks beak glowed. Then it charged her like a duck shaped power drill. Shin turned back towards the two men, parts of golden armor missing in uneven chunks at his right arm and left leg. “Hello, boys.” Then, he turned back towards the mystic as Porygon knocked her out with a savage beak side swipe. Raised his hand, and drew all the shards that had formed the duck back into himself. The duck’s components patched the battle damage with purple and pink.
The camera panned across the group as he held up his right hand and began slowly reforming the shard sword with excess Porygon pink and purple triangles.
Rex grunted. "Rex," he said as a woman seemingly on the side of the mansion emerged out of the chaos. He called up another cloud of fireballs and thrust them at a woman who was diving toward the mansion. A green nimbus of light flashed around her and she vanished.
There was a shout from behind about an incoming hex. Rex saw a firework-like energy burst corkscrewing toward him and he sliced his saber through it, unraveling whatever spell was imbued on it and allowing the sparks and lights to splash harmlessly on his jacket.
Then a savage red line appeared in the air in the middle of the courtyard and with a howl of rage it ripped apart. For a brief moment, trees could be see through the hole it left in the world, and then two Humvees burst through the portal, the mounted guns on top immediately starting to fire glowing ammunition at the defenders. Bursts of fire, electricity, concussive force, ice, acid, and clouds of gas began erupting from each projectile as it made contact with anything solid, whether it be a person, the ground, or even the front of the mansion.
"Take cover!" Rex roared as he rolled behind the fountain, already spitting out a verse that would cause a burning bush to rise in front of one of the Humvees.
A dozen people poured through the portal following the Humvees, guns, staves, swords, fists, and voices raised as they took battle to the front steps of the mansion itself.
"Hi Zek!" Zek said into the camera after nailing a person in the back with a golden light. He nonchalantly threw a red orb off behind him and left the person falling four stories to the ground. The person was probably a mystic.
Cuttlefish moved into some kind of evasive pattern and Zek just giggled and laughed. His eyes were wide and unblinking and they burned with blue and white light. "Let's do a loop de loop!" he yelled as more orbs flashed into the trees. But then lights started coming back towards the Dynamic Duo. "Ah, consequences!" he yelled.
He barely even heard Custard - Zek was already throwing a white ball in front of them and they shot through the following portal like a bat out of hell. Or a birdboy from hell. Or a guy with wings who was now on fire. So maybe like a phoenix? Well anyways, they were now in a much better place because Zekworld was better than literally everywhere.
They immediately crashed into a massive pool of water Zek imagined into existence, long enough to snuff out the feathers. Then the pool and all water and wetness vanished with a thought before Clark could complain. That left them standing in the main locker room in Zekworld stadium.

The assault rifle had done surprisingly well against the stone golem, picking away at joins until finally it fell into a useless heap of pebbles. When the final piece fell, Hugh planted his boot upon its slowly unmoving head and smirked. Placing his finger on the comm, he replied to Sabine.
"I guarantee, buy enough drinks and there'll be plenta makin' out." He winked...not that it could be heard over comes...he knew it was heard.
Hearing a shout as a mutant is begin chased by a trio of mystics, Hugh quickly used a free hand to grab the tranquilizer gun at his side and fire off a few darts. One found its mark but of the remaining two, who had himself covered in some kind of living magical metal turned and flew after Hugh.
The agent released another dart but it merely ping off the metal. He then shrugged and pulled up his rifle again.
"So much for going quietly," He grumbled and then begin peppering the mystic with armor piercing rounds. Nonvital areas...of course.

Rebecca was used to crazy missions as an Ex-X-Man, but magic only increased the randomness.
For instance, a whale falling from the sky. Pretty godsdamned random. “Praxi!” Becca called out to the slime girl, who looked up just too late before an Orca landed on top of her, splatting her.
Rebecca shielded her eyes as a wave of powdered snow kicked up from the impact, then ran oven, filled with concern. Much to her surprise, the whale was already devolving into green slime itself. From the remains, a woman-like figure raised. “Praxi?”
“Well, that was terrible.” Praxi’s body had indeed been splatted, but the consistency of the whale’s own jelly body made it easy for Praxi to reconstitute herself! It was a shame she couldn’t keep absorbing; a mega slime would have been helpful in the fight.
Relieved, Rebecca looked forward just in time to see a Mystic flying through the air, crashing down a few yards from her. She charged with her shield, hearing the man curse. Not like a magical curse; he was complaining about a twisted ankle. Some of these foot soldiers were not practiced with their magic.
Rebecca was. Channeling energy into her sword, Rebecca swung the blade twice, each time releasing a small burst of force, one in blue and one in green. Each concussive bolt hit the man like a punch to the gut and face. Before he could get his bearings, Rebecca was on him, hitting his skull with a clang and putting him down.
Looking back up, Rebecca noticed a whirlpool forming near the pool. She grinned. That was not a Mystic; it was a force of nature. “Nice seeing you back out in the field, Neptune.” Sure, he was technically there in the capacity of an MRC Detective, but she couldn’t ignore the nostalgia of it all.
Sabine spoke to her, and Amelia took the notes in stride. Watch Ass, check. Incoming to courtyard. She ignored the X leader comments. Rude.
Across the lawn, she saw the sprinklers come on. A guy in golden lion armor got soaked. He was standing right over one of the sprinkler heads. Body language said: pissed.
Fire guy, edit: Rex, did his thing. Some woman shouted about hexes. Amelia snapped her focus to searching for wherever that would have been coming from, unsure how she would have managed it in any event. She needn’t have bothered. The flaming sword went snicker snack and Rex claimed another win.
“Mkay. He’s good.” Amelia muttered quietly to herself.
A moment later, a line appeared in the air, and— she saw trees beyond the portal. She saw two humvees. On top of them were—
Shitshitshit!!!!
“Take cover!!” Rex shouted, and Amelia tried. She really tried. But— someone managed to target her and send her flying.
If she had been a vanilla human, she would have been toast. But she was a mutant. She had enchanted her overcoat and her gloves with multiple layers of protection. Kevlar, for ballistics, fire, and heat, and ceramic plating, against slashing and bludgeoning. Big impact force. High temperatures resistance was double-dipped. She could only empower up to five separate articles of clothing at once with her enchantments, and— gloves (2), duster (1), pantsuit top (1) and pantsuit bottom (1). She was wearing the full kit.
A burst of heat and kinetic force sent her flying, but she was well-armored against such an attack. Her hair may have gotten a little charred before she forced her will into animating the hood of the duster to snap up over her head, and hunkering down with her arms in front of her face, but— aside from Intense heat and the impacts from the initial blast, and from landing after wards, she was alright. Bruised, but alright.
As she cursed and pushed herself up off the ground, a dozen people poured through the portals following the humvees. Armed with guns, staves, swords, fists, and— another red streak flew towards her and the area around the mansion steps. She assumed a kneeling position again, arms up, head down, braced. But this time it was not fire. It was not electricity (which she had a minor degree of protection from). It was not acid or bludgeoning force. It was another hex.
The hex passed over over her softly, without disturbing anything at all. The world went black.
Into the comms, she said: “Dozen people and two humvees with guns just portaled into mansion grounds in front of entrance. Armed to teeth, and— I’ve been hexed. I cannot see.” She cut the comms, and took several uneven steps backwards, towards the mansion (and where she thought she remembered Rex being). He wasn’t. He’d dove towards the fountains. But
“Argh!” A stray bullet hit her chest and sent her stumbling backwards. She was fine. Bruised, but fine. It hit the duster. She still shouted out— “I’ve been hit! And hexed! I cannot see!!!” She shouted to anyone who could hear.
She lobbed the white shield construct blindly at where she hoped people might be- a mystic flinched as it hit him dead in the head, and passed through, kept flying, dissipated into nothing.
Amelia constructs can only interact with clothing! The mystic laughed and laughed, sword swinging by his waist. Was the corner of her mouth bleeding? Or was it her nose. Her sense of balance suddenly — wasn’t. She fell to one knee, bracing herself against the ground. Hooded head bowed, Amelia started to wonder if maybe she had been hurt more than she had first thought…
