The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

At what age is it appropriate to put a baby in a power rangers costume? How about costume gear and makeup to simulate some sort of monster of the week from a children’s television superhero show? How about the appropriate age at which to have a child don a cape and shining golden armor? The answer is older than a few months, you say? Thank goodness.
Shin did not dress his kiddo up in a fanciful costume at all. He did, however, put him in a Green Power Ranger onesie that looked kind of like the original costume.
He was not even super huge into American Power Rangers, but— it was simple, it was understated, and most importantly… it was something he could get Kealey to sign off on. There were no GARO onesies on the internet, and while there were a plethora of Kamen Rider onesies with super fun things like heisei era riders, kamen rider ichigo in Chibi form, and an assortment of feet prints from various rider kicks.., what had he been doing again?
Green Ranger had brand recognition. A lot more than Kamen Rider… even if Kamen Rider was his tv show, growing up. The green dragon and white diamonds looked good though, and the fake belt. White diamonds were like double triangles, so—and he did love green, so—
There was a convention in town. It had a Tokusatsu theme, which is a Japanese special effects genre in tv and movies. It had stuff like Godzilla and Super Sentai (that’s Power rangers for you stateside townies). It had Kamen Rider, and other series. There was probably some ultra man, and myriad other shows. As well as various anime that met the theme, stuff like kikaider and kaiju no 8 and cyborg 009. It was just… a lot. He felt kind of extra and cringe, explaining it to his wife, but— she liked that he wanted to take the baby with him. So—
He arrived with kiddo around 10:00, when the thing opened up. Got the baby ready in his roller, and went up to the convention. Escalators and baby stroller were no obstacle for Shin. Shards meant he could levitate the baby stroller. Easy pz.
And there were loads of people there…in costumes of all sorts. Shin, himself, was dressed from the neck down as Kamen Rider Ichigo. He had the helmet in the bottom of the stroller, with the baby bag. He could manipulate the costume and the stroller and everything. It was all made of shards.

Less than a minute in, and things were getting hairy.
A quick independence of the last few seconds: His slash had cut a necklace, but not Ka. The gem had hit the ground, not too far away. What effect this would have was currently unknown.
Ka roared in anger, and let loose fury. Lightning lanced through the world, chasing after lil’ ol’ him.
Evasive action. He cut and swerved. Lightning narrowly missed. Ka was successfully distracted.
The bolt that had struck the sword earlier, it still rang in the back of his mind. The impact, as psychic resonance. That was what it would be like every time it took a hit, and it would add up. Enough to give him a headache, wear him down. Make his nose bleed. Worse. His eyes widened in battle glee as he dealt with the mental pain. But this would not work. He had to do better, better, better!
Shin was a quick study. He could learn from seeing, and doing. He knew he should not keep up that same assault. So, as he evaded lightning in the sky, he prepared to separate the blade into many.
With two constructs active, that left one construct remaining, plus some odd additional amount of additional shards. If he was at max, he could focus on one, maybe two, fist-sized groups of shards. Those groups could be free-floating, or drawn to an existing construct to build onto it, or reinforce it. In lieu of this, he could focus on two hand-sized shards, or one hand-sized shard and one fist-sized group of shards, and can use these to build and reinforce. So, he focused on the blade, and— it scattered.
He was no longer focusing on the shard sword. Instead, he had split it apart into three fist-sized groups of shards. Just in time, too.
“Incoming!!” someone shouted.
The groups of shards were smaller, more maneuverable, and easier to have dash away from the Incoming, whatever that-holy shit-was.
Screeeeeeeeeeee
Metal screamed. A fighter jet scraped up a very expensive deck.
Oof. That would have smashed his shards and his consciousness to bits. He veered to one side, and glanced Ranger’s way. His shards hovered safely, off above the crash. Swirled away. Recalculating targets. In the heat of the moment, he lost Ka.
Now to the present:
He found Ka by the sound of his voice.
Ka called something out in Not-English. He had dodged the plane. Thrown himself away from the site of the crash. Bastard.
Even though nobody understood him, three people still obeyed. A sway. They were under a sway. Innocent. And one of them was wearing medals on their uniform.
The field around Ka grew heavier with power, and he shot out more bolts. Shin evaded, his group of shards sailed in the direction of him, to regroup. They had evaded the plane. More were surely coming.
Those three innocents were out of luck. He was not focused on them, when he moved to evade the 100-something foot long bolts of lightning streaking towards himself (and others). He was focused on his health, and his shards. So when Rex took it upon himself to blow the men up—after shielding both himself and Hunter from the incoming assault— Shin completely missed it.
He saw the fireballs streaking towards Ka, however, and … paused his masses of shards for a second… to see what happened.
Earlier, on the way in, Shin had used his headset to call various people and arrange things. He’d also set it up to key onto Michael Hunter and Rex’s frequencies, because who says X-men never prepare?
He had done mental math using his mutation, and knew the measurements of the ship down to the centimeter. Just knew them. He knew how far it was to the waterline, length, beam. This was part of his. If He knew, He could plan. How far to the water, could He drop down then come up, how deep was it, could He fire shards from the other end and still hit?
Now was the time to talk plans. He got on the mic. ” let’s talk Options: electric shield is slowing attacks down. Maybe tactical retreat inside and shut the engines down? Or try and get him off the deck? Drop him in the water or get him wet? Whoa- close Dodge there. You ok? Any ideas? Gotta power him down. Hold on—“
He pressed his shards in the direction of Ka. Nonchalantly. Casually. Slowly. Fred. Then. Through the field. Some small ones split apart, and made their own way towards Ka, on a mission, hoping their larger brethren would distract the man, so they could slip in unnoticed, and attach themselves to him body, his clothing, in ways that did not immediately attract attention, or impede. Meanwhile, Shin had dove down behind a building on the flight deck for cover.
He leaned his back against a wall, and peeked out to check on his shards. The black surfaces caught light, glinting in their approach.

Had Sam not been told? Weird.
Shin told him “no,” she had not had the baby. Because he was messing with him. Clearly, this was someone else’s small child. Shouldn’t have even taken it anywhere near this place. But he’d been overconfident.
He shook his head, when Sam asked if Kealey knew he had brought the child HERE. Kill him. Absolutely murder.
Regret.
Annoyance.
Kill Sam? As an accomplice. Shin said ‘yeah.’ Gestured with one finger, neck slicing motion towards Sam. Mess with him.
The man seemed to melt around any babies. Shin knew this. He needed to invest in a sitter.
The little guy tried to get their attention. They tried to engulf Sam. Shin sighed.
No one had put on safety gear, as requested.
Sam filled the bubble with ice. Added weight would probably prevent it from carrying him off. But it seemed that had not been his goal.
Shin took several steps back, then raised his voice. Not shouted, raised. Baby.
”I don’t know if you’ve noticed, Sir. I have a small child. Please stop fighting my friend. We can move away from the site and talk. This all seems pretty ridiculous right now.”
kobold was all like “damn,” as the wind left his sails and he relaxed a little. He wanted the site owners to pay, not a small blameless baby who never did anything bad in his life. Though that someone would use a child as a bargaining chip was kind of shady. But—
“Let’s go out into the parking lot. There’s a nice set of benches by the sidewalk where my brother always takes— took- his lunch.”
He started walking. The bubble was still on Sam, he had sort of forgotten. If the man told him, he would dismiss it, but— eh.

OOC, nobody answered the door in the last post. I’ll just do a weeee bit of god moding to let us in?
The father let them into the house.
Shin immediately made introductions. The doctor with white hair was doc Prof, a healer, he was Shin, and this was his wife, Kealey.
He could tell from her look of concentration, she was already testing the waters (as it were). The tides of emotion? Or at least, he figured she would be. He knew his wife.
He asked if they could come in, and of course, they were promptly invited into the house. Shin asked to be shown the kid. They were taken to see them.
He gestured for Doc Prof to check out if any healing needed done (the old man asked for permission). Then he placed a hand on the kid’s forehead. It emitted a light white glow. After a few seconds, brow crinkled, the doc said “He isn’t ill. Not hurt.” He looked to Kealey, and nodded. This was her territory. He stepped away and gave the woman the floor.
During all of this, Shin spoke in a calming tone to the father. He explained what was happening and what they would do next. Doc Prof came over after he was done, a calming presence.

The two guys were King James and a guy people called Michael, who Shin would refer to as Hunter… since his son was Michael. He didn’t want to think of his son when interacting with this person, or else all he would want was to go home.
This whole situation made him want to go home. Nuclear reactors, nuclear, in water. Where was the giant lizard? Electric enemy boss? Ew. They needed to get Ka off, or get the reactors down. And clear the deck. To reduce chance of casualties due to accident? Yeah. Or other reasons. He opened his mouth with a question on his tongue, but shut up.
Immediately, Aggro boss.
“<You must be champions of this world. The ones they have summoned to stop me.>” Ka strode forward, halving the distance to the three new people.
“<Kneel before me and I may let you live to serve me.>”
Ka raised an arm and rolled his hand over to slowly point a finger at the deck of the ship. “<Kneel before your new god.>”
It was a very good thing Shard was wearing a helmet that covered his eyes. Ka would not see the utter disrespect the armored figure gave him with the disdainful eye roll. It was a wonder Shin could see at all after that effort.
Shin got the feeling this person had killed everyone who had not kneeled. Which meant a lot of bodies on the carrier were corpses. Mass murdering maniac.
King James, nee Rex, laughed. A religious man, he didn’t much care for the Egyptian Pharoah’s delusions of grandeur.
>>> "You're no god, but I'll happily introduce you to Him. Now stand down!"
He had raised his voice, an attempt to intimidate, perhaps? Or show authority? But this pharoah would not respect his authority.
Shin… kneeled. He got down to one knee, placing his sword in his grasp so that it was parallel to the deck of this ship. He bowed his head, briefly. For like a second. He did not look up to see how Ka reacted, only imagined it to be something like this:
Ka’s eyes, flaring as disrespect was lobbed his way. Preparing to exercise power, only to see 1 of the 3 show proper reverence for a god. Dropping to one knee. A smoothing of features, followed by a smile or a sneer of superiority. A momentary lessening of his guard.
Those were things Shin imagined, which may or may not have been true. His head was lowered. He was not directly looking at the guy. It may not have happened. He hoped for the dropped guard, though. Because Rex’s intimidation attempt was not fast enough for him. They needed to put pressure on, hard and fast.
So after that couple of seconds, his grip on his blade tightened. And using the power of his shard armor as propulsion, he surged forward in a rapid slashing strike aimed at Ka’s middle. A sword strike, horizontal.
In his mind, he had pictured it like they do in the shows. One sweeping slash, him appearing on the other side. A second later, the enemy slides into two halves. Slumps.
Shard knew this enemy would not go down so easily, thus, when he got near enough that he was in zapping range, he prepared for one of two things. Ka retreating back a step, or Ka just zapping him. He had plans for either.
Ka chose option one, taking a step back, casual, unharried. Then brought his hand up.
Shard adjusted his grip on the sword, then swung it in a diagonal, upwards, using the motion of the previous swing. Only, he flew upwards at the same time. Separate from the sword. Up, and back towards the air above Hunter and Rex.
At least, that was what he had wanted to happen. What he did not know was that, Ka’s static shield might make that a bit more difficult than initial assessment. Shin was not well-versed in physics.
“When a conductor passes through a magnetic field m, an electric current is induced, and it opposes changes in the initial magnetic field. It is sometimes called the "No you don't" law.
If an object moves fast into a field, it is slowed down. If an object starts movement in the field and tries to move away, it is hard to move away.” — ((OOC from Fuegogrande explaining physics))
Ka had a static field around him, creating a weak magnetic field. Not enough to stop Shin's shards, which were conductive… if they are conductive. But it made them move a little more sluggishly.
His sword fought on, free from his grasp. But a little slower than he would normally have expected. Hopefully it would help give Hunter and Rex an opening while he hovered above. Which he would do in a second, once he broke himself free of the field.
Shin grunted as he flew upwards at less than his usual 75MPH.
Lightning arced after him, and it barely missed. A little slower, and it would have hit him fully, rather than passing a hair’s breadth from his foot. If it had clipped a toe, and passed upwards… a thing worth shuddering to consider. Another bolt impacted the blade, itself.
Shards weren’t a buffer against electricity. See conductivity, But the sword itself would be unharmed. Shin was the one in danger if he got too close. His armor wouldn’t prevent shock- his rubber suit beneath the armor was not perfect protection, but it might save his life from a stray bolt. The soles of his shoes might… maybe that hair’s breadth had been even closer than he had thought.
It took mental effort to control the sword. Every time he swung it. Every time it took damage. He put his focus into maintaining form.
Out loud, he shouted ”I’ll go high and distract him! You—“ He swerved to avoid another bolt. He left his last bit unsaid, they could figure it out.

>>> "Thanks. I’m pretty sure it’s his Mutation — Jon’s powers are acting up. He’s an Empath, a reader of emotions, but he’s never lost control like this before. I only learned about his abilities when he finally confided in me; his control was so impressive, so complete. But if he’s somehow lost that control, that means... it’s bad."
And there it was, the mutation. Three little words, a reader of emotions. Empath.
Shin knew empaths. He was married to one, he had spent many days, working with her to find ways they could do the things they wanted to do, see the sights, listen to the concerts, go to the baseball and basketball games and plays. Working on focus, control, et cetera. Filtering out everyone else’s emotions, so Kealey could feel her own. It was a constant. A process.
The kid had lost control. Which Kealey struggled, sometimes— think, Shin, think.
to the over dramatically inclined, his voice was probably a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. A chime dancing in the wind. Peace, amid darkness. Or just, you know, really confident and calming. ”You’re in good hands. My wife is an empath, so I have some amount of experience with this.”
Which was true.., err, somewhat. He had met her when she had largely had her shit together. She might struggle, but the worst had been in her past. This new person—- new things?
”Isolation,” He said. ”Might help. Away from people. A large area, countryside, park. Or else try sensory deprivation - but- maybe my wife could actually help, actually?” Man, the confidence sure went in the opposite direction. ”You stay there. Be there soonest. Gotta make some calls. Keep them healthy and safe. Maybe put them in a warm bath up to their ears. And give me your address.” he waited the requisite beat for an address. Then he hung up.
Oof.
Shin called Kealey and filled her in on this nonsense, told her he would be there soonest, then turned.
Doc Prof was in the doorway.
“I’m ready to go. Where are we headed?” The old man smiled. He had a bag slung over a shoulder and everything.
”Actually, change of plans.” Shin clapped his hands together. His voice was strained, Jerry, thin, an attempt to keep up the good humors the man was in. He smiiiled. You’re staying here! We don’t think he needs medical attention, after all. We think it’s mutation-related! I’m gonna go get my wife.”
Doc Prof swore. Loudly.
Shin was quiet for a whole minute. ”I didn’t even know you knew those words, man. If you really want, I can make a 2-sidecar flying motorcycle and you can come along…”
“Nah, I’m good.”
Shin nodded.
He went and got Kealey. Then he landed at the address the person on the phone. Took 30-45 minutes, all told. Not bad for flying under his own power.
He knocked on the door. Kealey by his side. Doc Prof, too. He had been kidding when he said he was good. Better safe than sorry. He had tagged along. Otherwise, Shins flight speed may have gotten them there in 30.

He circled, high and out of reach. The triangular flying platform beneath him had shifted from its initial forest green, to grays and blues, to better blend in with the clouds and sky. No need to get sighted and shot down before they had even begun.
The carrier was beneath him, and the water. He surveyed the area, to see if He spotted anyone on the deck. Did He see the target? He had not yet noticed them, which meant they likely had not noticed him. Good. As for anyone else… look. He could tell you exact measurements and the layout of the ship down to tiny numbers, but his actual eyesight was not eagle sharp. He was high up, things below were small, and He did not get much of a read on troop positions or if Ra the sun god (or whatever his name was) had any goons. He saw movement, though. A ship. A boat.
That’s provably his team. That was his thought.
They appeared the carrier, and someone started climbing a ladder. A second followed.
Shin was glad he had donned an insulated rubber suit beneath his armor. Kept him warmer, up in the sky. Kept him protected from whatever electricity may fall. He had heard about that, and prepared. One of his several armored white coats was beneath the shard armor, backup for him. The armor itself would not insulate against electricity. Maybe he should have invested in Amelia and her enchanted clothing powers… but the upkeep costs were insane.
He began a controlled descent, far away and out of sight, aiming to come close to the ship at water level. He skimmed the waves, aiming for stealth, then elevated himself up next to the ladder. He arrived just as the duo had made it to the deck, and had their moment to catch their wits and look around.
His feet made little sound as the golden armored hero stepped off the platform. It shifted colors and shape as he stuck out a hand, transforming into a long black sword. Took a few seconds. Then he was ready.

On the other end of the line, a man spoke. His voice sounded nervous, with the stammering. And the rapid talk.
Someone had a mutant kid, their son. He was asleep, and wouldn’t wake. Sounded like they were sick, breathing hard. They needed help.
His mind started rolling. Was this mutation related? Was this health-related? He was not a doctor. This kid might need immediate medical care. But then, if they got him to the hospital and it was mutation, rather than medical, it could cause more problems. Be worse than if they had done nothing.
”Okay. Step 1. Take a deep calming breath. You’re doing great.” Shin began, adopting a relaxed tone. Trying for positive reinforcement. The person sounded like nerves were shot and they needed a lifeline, a life preserver when they were drowning. He could certainly try.
”Second. If you think this is medical in nature, you should probably call for an ambulance. If you give me the address, I can be there as soon as possible, and I can bring the mansion healer.” Doc Prof would be annoyed with him if this were just plain old mutations, but— better him than a mundane doctor and misusing medical care.
”Why don’t you talk me through this while I text our healer and get him ready for the trip. We can figure out if this is mutation or medical. What is their power? Do you know?”
He fired off a quick text on his cell to the healer. The man shot back a grumpy reply at the speed of light. Followed by “be there shortly.”

The alert came out. He had already been on standby since the day before. With what had happened, how could he not be? Something was clearly coming.
He had patched his wounds, rested and checked on his family. Wife, sister, child. He had contacted other people, as he had seen fit. Made sure to put down any baddies he encountered on his way home that day. Friends.
Aurum was fine. He had been home, baking a cake for a friend’s birthday. He had heard about the chaos on the news, and opted to stay inside. Aurum’s sister was fine too, he’d told Shin. She had been busy with work. Which was SUPER.
Today, would be another day. Chaos. Fights. He wanted it over. He just wanted to go home to his son, Michael. This was stupid. He was getting too old for this shit. But the alert came out.
The alert came out, and in full golden lion GARO armor, on a flying triangle, he had disembarked in a direction. To meet up with the rest of the champions.
”The world needs more heroes…” he muttered as he flew.

He was just taking a break from grading math tests at the mansion, where he worked as a teacher. Just checking peoples work and ticking off correct answers. When someone called the mansion, and someone answered, quickly forwarding the call to him.
They had a guy in charge of manning the phones, and sending them right where they needed to be routed to. Today, that was to him.
Shin answered. ”Hello, Mr Shinbo here. Can I help you?”

The Asian did not catch rex being injured. Did not note him pretending to be fine. He was in selfish survival mode presently, and his perceptions, his focus, was on the city around him and his phone. His family. Not even in him self. Though maybe He should.
Injuries, He had em. Who didn’t? He looked over and saw the man healing himself, started assessing his own injuries. What was left. Since Rex was okay. Fine.
"Need another round of healing?" Rex offered.
Shin thanked him and agreed, it would be a good idea.
He gathered all his shards up, reforming them into a golden “briefcase” construct. Revealed his sliced DBZ shirt, the remnants of his injuries. Exposed them so the healer could work.
His sister had not yet replied. It bothered him. What could she be so busy with? He needed to get home, He needed to help out. X, father, husband, duties fully pulled in every direction.

Rex got stabbed: super.
Shin should have just stepped in and interfered. Even if it went against fight rules, even if it seemed cheap and dirty. He should have. Because they were fighting real fights. This was not a game, not training. Real. If he died he wasn’t going home to his family. He would fight cheap from here on out.
Rex immobilized Tim. Shin took a step forward. Rex said something. Shin stopped, as magic something happened.
Shin sighed.
Rex started getting out zip ties and doing stuff. Shin flipped out his phone. He started a group text with his wife and his sister.
“City in trouble. I hope you are both safe, and at home, stay inside. Coming home soonest,” it said
Sasami was typing. Shin looked over to Rex.
He shouted out a question, asking if Rex was good. He needed to check on his family.

In this case, the mystic was entirely predictable. He got caught in melee, his whip was broken, and he was off his guard. The brightness and the heat were making it impossible to focus, and Rex the mystic had him, dead to rights.
The one some people call Tim went down under Rex’s pin. That left him open. He tried to draw a dagger and stab at the mystic, but his aim was off. He was at a disadvantage, from the light and the heat. He didn’t even have free hands to cast a spell.
Shin watched as Rex did his thing. He figured this was how it would have gone. Really, these guys had largely had surprise on their side when they had jumped him. Once that was done, what did they even have? Rex and him were stronger than them.
Shin turned his thoughts to Kealey and his son, Michael. He was lucky, oh so lucky, that Rex had been present and available to Show Up for him. Thank God. If Rex had not—
Shin did not want to think about how the world would have changed for his fledgeling family if Rex had not popped in to save him. Maybe he would have discarded the shard armor attempt, and just summoned a flurry of shards to cut the two men to ribbons. But that would have had risks too, and he might have killed them. He tried to avoid that these days. And if he had died? Due to avoiding that, or due to their skills?
… He gulped.
The city was in danger, but he had time after this to call her and check in on them. Yeah. To call her. That’s what he would do. Immediately after Rex knocked this guy out.

Boom boom boom boom. Explosions. Shin would have turned to check on Rex, but he was battering the baddie. The mystic surely had it under control. Surely.
Better kept staggering back, and Shin closed the gap, drawing on the shard shield to hover in front of him as he kept up the assault with the floating gauntlet. With Henshin shard armor, he could do about 2 free-floating constructs. Including a swarm of shards, so he was within his limits. And Better was nearing his own.
Whenever the man tried to regroup, to find a way to renew his assault, shin hit him. He used to be a boxer, he had the skills and could translate them into his shard gauntlet, why he had never used this method before, he didn’t know. IT seemed effective. One more uppercut, then he slammed the shard shield forwards to knock the man back into a brick wall. His head collided with it, and he fell promptly into unconsciousness. Probably a concussion from that. They’d have to have a doctor see him.
Shin drew the shield back, and warped it into a more beautiful shield form, instead of the jagged mass of triangle scales it was. Something round. Then, he spun to see how Rex was faring.
Rex hit his opponent with a burning shield. The fire mutant could take heat, but the shield slam had still surprised him. He was off balance, and primed for Rex to land some sort of finishing blow. Maybe sweeping the leg? Shin was ready to intercede if Rex appeared to need any help.
Tim swore, loudly. And said something crude about religious figures,

>>> "He said thank you?" Lee asked incredulously. "And if he was saying 'thank you', would you throw him off the Brooklyn Bridge?"
Did he want to get thrown off the Brooklyn bridge? That seemed like a bad idea. Maybe they could simulate it in the danger room, but why—
>>> “Could you NOT see that he was a total wreak and just about having a breakdown in there?!?"
Her voice rose.
>>> "The additional trauma you were heaping onto him? Nevermind how potentially dangerous the entire thing was!"
"God Shin! Did you even think about what would have happened if a merge had happened?! And not only that, but you put him through all of that multiple times!"
”Wait wait wait, hold up. A merge?!” Shin scanned his memory. A merge? That sounded like… fusion. He tried to remember Romania, then tried to remember what the hell they had talked about before the session.
Slowly, Shin said Tarin said… what did he say. I’m paraphrasing, but… “it looks like the tight places trigger me… for… for that. I was in a bad way by the time they got me out and if anyone had touched me….” And before that, all he asked was if I were familiar with other Tarin’s powers. The scary ones. And I said yeah, but I’m only vaguely. I don’t know all the nuances. I was there for Romania, but also blind and fighting and distracted and only hazily do I remember much of anything. All I remember was Tarin… yeah… him and the unicorn… something happened. But there was a lot going on and I never asked him to delve into what the heck happened so it might’ve just been some mutant powers working together or maybe that was the unicorn or… I probably should have asked for more than just saying “yeah.” I did tell him I’m familiar, but familiar like how I’m familiar with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. I don’t know their whole life story. God. Maybe I should have asked. I just—“
He had to sit down. He sat down. He sat down in his favorite chair, and leaned his head against the palm of his hand as he rested his ear against the phone.
”My power summons literal razor blades of mental energy, and Lee. I focused on Tarin being scared and wanting to master whatever dangerous aspects of his power there were. And if anything, maybe I figured he wanted to AVOID those.” If he fused, there were no fusing partners. Nobody to do any fusion ha with… unless it also affected spirits, again, he had never asked on nuance. ”I just, I learned how to use my power, my razor blades, to frighing protect myself and others. And it hurt and it took years to really focus it so that I could armor myself with it without just shredding my entire body, and one mistake, and it’s like Sam when I rushed the job. So— I know how scary mutations can be, and I fully support helping people learn to cope with scary powers. With consent. Dealt with fire users who literally set their rooms on fire when scared, so— sorry. I just talked forever. But—“
but what? He didn’t really feel like anyone had done anything wrong here. Maybe misinformed, but—
