The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sometimes it can be a challenge to find ways for your character to meet other characters, particularly if they are not in the school-age demographic or not in-line for a faction. Or maybe it isn't a challenge for you, and perhaps you're looking to add another dimension to your character's thread repertoire?
Friends, look no further!
I presently have Gina living in a "co-living situation" in New York. What this means is that someone took a four-story townhouse and converted a number of the floors into apartments shared between four individuals. It's essentially like a fancy dorm but not just for college students. I thought it would be cool to open-up the building to other tenants to present some thread opportunities for those who want it.
The Building
All of the information that follows was pulled from this website, wherein they discuss a real live co-living place.
The building is four stories tall, and also has a cellar (partially below street level). The cellar contains a pair of washers and dryers, sofas and chairs, a t.v. and a boardroom table.
Floors one through four contain the residences. Each residence has four bedrooms, a living room, a full kitchen, and two full baths. The second-floor residence has a balcony, as it is above the entryway.
There is also a small backyard, and rooftop access.
Please see the included link for images of the townhouse. The floorplan can be found here. Please note that floors two through four have a fifth bedroom off of the living room. In our rendition, pretend those walls do not exist, and that it is instead a small dining area (a round table with four chairs).
Occupants can request either the furniture that comes with the room, or bring some of their own furniture as well. Furniture is considered part of the deposit.
Located at 1162 Pacific Street in Brooklyn, NY, this cooperative living facility boasts a mutant-friendly atmosphere. Though your character need not be a mutant to rent a room at "The Co-Op", it is strongly recommended that they're at least mutant-friendly. Rooms for rent are for single occupancy only, must be 18+ to apply. (If your character is under 18, your character needs to find means to fake their age and their credit history. This can be hand-waved in a post where they move-in.
While each floor hosts a four-bedroom apartment, it isn't like four separate apartments-- each resident has key-card access to the other three floors. Think of it as sixteen people sharing four kitchens, rather than four people sharing one.
Rent covers utilities, wi-fi, and management fees. In compliance with New York's housing laws, rent is by-apartment rather than by-room, but roommates can seek people to finish their lease, should life circumstances cause them to move elsewhere.
This facility is owned by a property management agency. The superintendent/repairman for the building lives a few doors down from the Co-Op, in his own house. He's a frequent fixture in the building, a soft-spoken man who seems overwhelmed by the vibrant personalities that often flock to the Co-Op.
The Co-Op has monthly meetings (third Thursday of the month), whole-group dinners in the Cellar on Sunday nights, and residents will occasionally host game nights, movie nights, or anime nights at their own discretion.
Current Residents
Each #1 is the room closest to the fire escape, and it goes in numerical order down the line. Room #4 is the room closest to the kitchen. (As an OOC note, I will keep you on the list as long as there are other rooms available. In the event that your character goes inactive, all of the rooms are full, and someone expresses interest in housing their character here, your spot will be given to them. If, however, this ends up being popular idea on the boards, I might just have the owner of this co-op buy the neighboring building. The more the merrier! I will work on the same schedule as Taken Mutations does.)
I'd like to have Darkshift apply for a room. She's currently living in an abandoned apartment building squat and is looking to use her recently ill gotten gains to get something better for herself. I'd be open to having her as Gina's roommate but if you prefer she can be placed in one of the other spaces.

I'm totally down with Gina and Darkshft being roomies. Which room do you want for her? :)c Gina's in Room #1, closest to the fire escape. So 2-4 are still open for PC's.

I think Astrid may be interested in a new place to stay! There are some logistics issues (like her being a wanted criminal), but I'm sure there are ways that we could work around those.
She likes being up high, so the fourth floor is probably best. She can be mean, though, so it might be best to give her her own room. >.>
Everyone get's there own room! It'll be cool to have another flying person on the fourth floor. Do you have any preferences for room location? Gina has the one closest to the fire escape, but the other three are still unclaimed. (One's for Darkshift, but she has not claimed it a room yet.)
Given that his last abode suffered a somewhat untimely end and he has essentially been squatting at Sanctuary I think Zephyr would benefit from moving in somewhere else. As the fourth floor seems to be taken you put Zephyr on the 3rd floor, I don't particularly have a preference on the room at present.

Mind throwing Richard into the room next to Zyph? If Zeph does not object. He had been living at Rags, before I vanished for a few months. Now that Rags is ....well defunct, Richard needs a place to stay while he ekes out a living/ finds a new job
