The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura had decided to take a break from her training and she was fairly sure her bones had thanked her. For the most part she stayed to the alleyways to keep out of sight. Still she encountered few people she wanted to know in places such as these, some she killed and buried or burned the remains. More often however her own reputation proceeded her and she simply let them live. Her orders such as they were bound her hand and despite being simple low lifes, Aura was trying to comply.
Aura was unsure where she was heading, but was grateful for the relative lack of people. She was no fan of humans and the fact that their police wanted her like a hunter wanted a deer also helped to sway and limit her choices. She did however like how the greenery in the area looked, it made her feel safe and comfortable even if she knew it was an illusion.. Aura imagined humans would not eat her however. She looked back down at her hand, closing her fist tightly as she walked. No one gave her a close look as she kept her head down, her long brown hair obscuring much of her face.
She walked close to the strange statue without so much as a glance, her mind was miles away. Thinking about religion her mind went back to the laptop at home, but she dismissed these thoughts quickly. Still she stopped less then a few yards away and looked up at the sky's fading light. Mistaking Gregorio for a statue, she relaxed and continued moving, though her eyes scanned the area around, as if she were watching for something, in fact she was cops, since gregorio did not look like a cop she has overlooked him.
Aura had spent months picking through the details and debating with herself, she realized in her opinion that the world had changed, the people had changed, but she had not. Her leaders had changed, their tactics with them and yet had she really made the effort to change with them? Was it not dishonorable for her to cling to the old way's? She was still unsure of just how much Lori's ways actually helped her people, but maybe she could do both. Aura had come to the idea of a fight club off of a flyer she found next to a karate school. She could charge an entry fee and a another fee for people to watch. The winner would get half the total and the house the other half. Aura had also tossed in a thirty pound bag of quarters. Finding a good location had proven the hardest part of the venture. She had to have a place which could not be traced back to sanctuary as well as one where cop's would not swarm. She decided on an old bomb shelter which had never actually been completed, the outer walls were up but none of the room dividers were installed. Aura disliked the place had only two exits, if the cops did come, this would be a bloodbath and Aura knew Lori would not be pleased with that.
She had done her best to spread word of the tournament carefully, mostly through underground contacts she knew. She had not informed Lori wanting the cash to be a surprise for her. If thing's went well Aura would consider making this a frequent thing, after all the fights would help Mutants learn to fight better and thus better oppose the human scum. She made sure word was spread that death was forbidden and that the fights would be either until knockout or surrender, broken limbs though discouraged were allowed. One had to do their best not to restrict the natural flow of battle after all and worrying about minor things such as that would only detract from the experience. Aura regretted she had been unable to find a mutant who could heal others, she knew of two of course but was pretty sure nether cared much for her illegal activates. She had also included that no one could bring weapons or objects not related to their mutations, it was not much of a fight if you simply shot your opponent after all.
Aura had even secured a the cooperation of a few local gang members who wished to see another day. She had employed these as food and drink vendors, though each had a gun they had been graphically told what would happen to them if they considered hurting anyone unless by her order. Opposed at first she had relented on the sale of drugs including M. They had been right the spectator number had grown and so had the prize money. Aura had even worked out through the one 'official booky' in the arena that the Order got a share of that to.These were close to the door, Aura's idea was if police did attack they would die as an early warning system of sorts. She had also rigged a camera just inside the entrances, they were only somewhat hidden and nether actually recorded, instead the pictures displayed on a large flat screen. Also on the screen was a board showing the two brackets of the tournament, the winners of each would fight each other for the $5000 prize and whatever thirty pounds of quarters was.Thick padding had been put down on the floor in the fighting area. Spectator seats were nothing more then a set of bleachers Aura had made from wood. The design was sturdy though rough looking in nature.
Aura stood in the middle of the arena and looked around it was still a little early for the fighters to be showing up, and the gang members she had hired however were on time, though their recreation made Aura nose twitch. She only hoped that by the end Lori would be impressed and her fellow mutants would be a bit stronger for the experience. Kneeling, She pet her pet skunk gently and let a small mouse out from a carrier cage out and watched the skunk go after it, smiling as the skunk christened the arena with it's pray. It was going to be a good day Aura decided and glanced up at the monitor. A tall and slightly fat member of the gang sat reading porn just in the entrance, it was his job to check for weapons that were not related to ones, power and before the location had been given aura had requested they demonstrated they were mutants and what their power was.
"That we are, some tastier then others" she said with a shrug. A simple yes or no would have worked well enough in her opinion. "The main difference is the superior species eats those below them" She said simply. "I have often wondered what gazelle might taste like, i cooked a lynx the other day, it was not bad" she said, wishing she could get it a little more easily. Lynx were apparently illegal to have for being an endangered species. She could understand the idea of not letting an entire race die out, after all she only thought 90% of humanity needed to die.
She dropped through the Hatch looking around. "He can keep the money, i have no use for it" she said, knowing quite a bit about how much might in the safe. "Im more curious about the gun's and setting an example" she said honestly. "Why you robbing the place?" she asked curiously. She then considered that he had offered her the safe. SO maybe he did not care for the money at all. Looking at the wall she carved an A in the wall in a few quick strokes.
I will be moving around the first, so not only has my time been limited but i am unsure if we will have Internet right away, depends on how fast they transfer it. In any case my parents house will be close so i may be able to do some posting.
"My Name is Aura" She said and as if to demonstrate she raised her hand up, and her Aura surged up her Arm thickening there until an Axe formed, then the axe, shifted and became a sword. Despite this the Aura around her body had stayed consistent and remained so after the sword faded back into her pink Aura. "And i can see your robbing the place, after all i was planning on the same thing" She admitted with a shrug. It was true after all, though she had not planned anything on dealing with the alarms.
"The owner is human" she said simply, but an obvious hint of hate peaked into her tone. Aura failed to mention she was robbing the place due to late insurance payments. "Personally i prefer my own weapons to a gun, but they have their uses" she said as she walked closer. The gun was a weapon she had failed to master for whatever reason she was lucky to hit anything when firing and probably dangerous with allies nearby.
"Your either a dumb human or a well prepared mutant" she said looking to the blow torch. "The Question is which. She said looking at him. If he was human, Aura mused as dark thoughts of a bloody message to the shop keep took hold in her mind. "I don't work so well with humans" she said. She thought he was a mutant from the jump he made. Still she was curious on his power however assuming he had one that could be shown.
It was late, but Aura liked the Night, it was easier to hide from cops and with her less then flawless reputation, she was pretty sure the Humans would just kill her. Still the Gun shop had failed to pay up again, despite a steady flow of customers. Aura figured it was time to remind the human who owned the business just whose territory they were in. She knew the Human who owned the shop sometimes stayed late, but she had picked a night, that would have been unusual to do so. She wanted an example not a gun fight, As fun as it was to disembowel a human, Lori liked them alive to pay them money and the Humans were starting to take up some action against the more rampant criminals like herself.
She was surprised and might of even missed it had she not been watching the building for an entrance of her own, but she saw a figure land and roll on the roof top. Glancing back, Aura saw a kitty corner building that was taler then her own perch. Aura Looked down after walking to the edge of the building, and jumped onto the fire escape, her Aura protecting her from the impact, though still making more noise then she would have liked. Looking around, and seeing no one she quickly made it to the top of the building and scanned the roof.
Aura located him by the light of his torch, this guy was good. Aura Made no attempt to hide herself as she walked roughly half the distance to the figure she could now see was male. "A Little late for maintenance arnt we?" she said calmly, she made no attempt to stop him, and left her aura a plain outline of her body. Aura figured if the guy was human she could just hit him with a hammer, and watch the police try and figure out what happened, if not she might have a new friend.
A fun thread idea, based on a fighting tournament underground and in secret. A Mutant fighting League with some sort of admission per fighter and another price to watch. Number of matches would be determined by the number of people interested in the idea. The word of the tournament would be spread by word of mouth to people Aura believes can be trusted where the word goes from their is another story entirely.
Since Aura is organizing this, the only rule would be no killing and pay your entrance fee. We would need a place to hold it so if anyone has any idea's on that it would be cool. Fights can be decided randomly if you guys want as it seems the most fare way. Aura is pretty mcuh trying to surprise Lori by making money for the order in a way that does not involve mass murder.
So come one come all, post if you wnat to participate or even if you have ideas. I think this could be a fun thread for the more agressive types on the board. WHo knowes maybe even a policemen will find his way thare ^^
