The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Luke raised an eyebrow at Meld's statement that there had been more than just a few mutants that experienced body switching but he bit his tongue. Perhaps he'd talk to Meld some more another day and ask her who else had been switched but for now he needed to focus on what he was trying to accomplish.
But then Meld cut that train of thought off at the knees. She just wanted to forget King Pharmaceuticals which meant that he had to find some other method of conversation that would allow him to gain information about the Sanctuary. Perhaps an off hand comment that led to something else?
"I understand the part about wanting to forget." Luke replied with a tight smile as his hand dug in to retrieve some of the kernals of popped corn, "I temporarily lost my abilities after that fight. Not exactly a happy time. And of course the most frustrating part about it was that it was so utterly useless. There was a fight here at the mansion almost a year ago now. The Sanctuary residents thought that we had stolen their big front doors. Turned out it was a mischief maker that noone had ever seen before trying to get us to fight and they succeeded. I just wish we had some sort of open lines of communication. Maybe then we wouldn't have these stupid misunderstandings and we could stop fighting each other all the time."
The frustration in Luke's voice was obvious and as honest as they came. He might not be willing to admit that he had already come up with a possible solution for the situation but he would deffinately admit to the problem. The only question now was whether Meld would take the hint or simply go on talking about something else.

"Sara, good to see you again." Oliver greeted as the feline made her way into his office. Walking over he offered a firm handshake before turning back to take his seat behind the desk.
"Disinfect... disinfect my hands, chair, and the whole office." He mentally noted as he looked across the desk at the cat. "Luke doesn't know about my calling you here." He offered as the beginning of an explanation, "You see, I've heard about some of the trouble my nephew has gotten into. His taking over the company has made him a lot of enemies and as I understand it, it is only thanks to your bravery, loyalty, and special abilities that he's still alive."
Pausing a moment, Oliver waited to see if Sara would make any comments. It seriously burned him up that he had to sit here and thank this creature for ruining what had been carefully laid plans but that was the only way to push forward. If he was going to finally accomplish his goals he had to make sure that she was out of the way. Even as they sat in the room Sara was being assessed. Video of her movements were being taken in order to better understand her physical strengths while other experts were estimating what sort of senses she might have thanks to her obvious feline side.
"How difficult would it be to kill her?" Oliver pondered as he watched the honey colored beast looked back at him through her light brown eyes, "Will we have to elimate her before or after we get Luke?"

Calley had a brother? That was information that came out of nowhere but since the other man seemed to be making no threatening moves, Luke began to relax. Slate Swartz spoke in a much more proper manner almost as if he'd been brought up in a completely different environment. Was this one of those cases you occasionally heard about on the news where twins were raised by completely different parents and then met later in life? Those cases were always interesting because of how many similarities remained even though the pair had never met. "I wonder if they both like the same type of food or colors or something like that." Luke pondered for a moment before wrenching his thoughts back to the meeting that was just now beginning.
"He's a good kid." Luke completed the sentence when Slate seemed to be at a loss for words, "Misguided yes, but still a good kid. He's not a killer no matter how hard he might try."
It was a silly statement, especially considering how close Luke had come to being killed but sometimes his blindness was as much emotional as it was physical. To admit that Calley could go from being a good guy that confessed his wrongs to Neena to a cold blooded killer was just to much for him.
Tilting his head, Luke suddenly felt curious as Slate mentioned his injuries. The Doc Prof hadn't healed him? "You're a healer?" Luke asked with obvious curiosity, "I uh, no, there were no lasting affects. I lost my sight replacement mutation for a week or so but eventually it came back."
Waving a hand toward the seat that would put Slate directly across the table from Luke, the blind man moved to once again sit down. "Thank you for your help. I woke up at the Xavier Mansion already healed and noone seemed to know who did it so I simply assumed it was the Doctor. Do you know how Calley is? I didn't really hold back on my part either. Were you able to help him?"
Business was what the meeting had originally been about but anyone that knew Luke Jacobs knew he valued people far more than anything else. Finding out about Calley most definately took precedent and then they would move on to whatever it was that had caused Slate to ask for this meeting.

Luke raised an eyebrow in surprise at Meld's statement and paused his eating. This was new information and it was going to take some time to process. "If I wasn't the only one I wonder how many there were." He mused aloud as he turned his face so that his sunglasses were staring back down at his food, "And what might have caused it."
There were a lot of question to be answered but that was a subject that was best left for another day. Luke didn't want to be distracted from his goals for this meeting and so instead he simply shelved the "Case Of The Body Switchers" for perusal on another day.
"But anyways, what about you? Have you been here at the mansion for long? I think I remember seeing you at King Pharmaceuticals however long ago but we hadn't had a chance to be introduced and with all of the stuff going on, I was a little bit distracted."
The information had been thrown out and even as his blind eyes studied the sandwich, his sonar was monitoring Meld for a reaction. Would she be uncomfortable talking about the fight? Would she try to change and subject and avoid it all together? Since Luke had been so busy facing down Calley he hadn't exactly spent a lot of time noticing how every else was fighting but he did know that Meld had lined up on the opposing side at that time. What hade made her switch? Had she burned the bridges before leaving or was there still a friendship that could be exploited for a good cause?

Luke paused as the young man approached. The voice was familiar but the words and phrasing were keeping him from identifying where he knew it from. As far as he could remember he had never met this person but as Slate Swartz approached Luke focused his sonar on the man's face. "Swartz, why is that so fam..." Luke thought to himself before the face suddenly cleared up and he found himself blurting out, "Calley?"
He could feel his muscles tensing and his feet automatically moving into a more defensive stance. His hands remained at his sides but it was quite obvious that he was anything but relaxed.
"I'm afraid I've never met someone named Slate, but you have a striking resemblance to Calley Swartz." Luke said in the most controled tone he could manage, "And since people don't change body language over night... are you related?"
There was no way, absolutely no possible way on earth that this could be Calley. Calley would never speak this properly and the body language wa all wrong. If this was Calley then Luke would have to give him serious credit for pulling it off. Did his shifting give him this sort of ability? Could he change his muscle tone to make his walk different? After the brawl at King Pharmaceuticals, Luke wasn't going to put anything outside the realm of possibilities. Calley was most deffinately one of the most powerful mutants, if not the most powerful mutant, that Luke had ever met. Had he come to finish what he started at the brawl? Was he here to talk and patch things up? What in the world was going on?!

Oliver Jacobs was in a free fall, figuratively speaking of course.
Only a few short years ago he had been at the top of his game. CEO for Jacobs & Jacobs Security, Oliver had been building the company and building his own bank account. The mutant problems had been great for business and that was how he had marketed things. Jacobs & Jacobs had been a security company specializing in anti-mutant security systems. There was no paper work to show the secret testing that had been done with young punks plucked off the street. There was no money trail to show how Oliver had been able to design systems that seems to work so well against mutants and best of all, during those years, noone had even wanted to ask questions.
Those had been the good old days and then things changed. His loser nephew had decided to return from Europe and stick his nose into where it didn't belong. While he had been in Europe, Oliver had been able to ignore the fact that a mutant had cropped up in his own family. He had been able to ignore that somehow the genes in his famile were so f***** up that a freak like that could come out but with Luke at work every day it was much harder. And then the registration act began.
His lose nephew was forced to step into the background and once again Oliver had been in his hay day. Along with gaining record profits he had been able to shuttle funds into anti-mutant organizations that wanted to keep the camps intact. He had been, and still was completely unaware that his nephew had been using company funds to help fund the lawyers that were fighting against the camps. All he knew was that when the camps fell, so did his world.
He could see the bottom as it rushed up toward him.
He didn't know how to change things when suddenly a life line was thrown his way. Some of his associates from the prior years popped back into his life. It was the chance he had been looking and hoping for and he'd jumped at it. The men had been paid, the trap had ben layed, and still his nephew and his mutant friends had escaped. Two times money had changed hands and both times the traps had failed. It wasn't just that Luke was lucky, on his own he should have died at either of the occurences. It was the fault of one... creature.
"Ms. Sara is here to see you."
"Send her in!" Oliver called as he put on a smile and stood up from behind his desk. It was time for a new plan and a guarantee that a certain feline would never interfere again!

The call had come from out of nowhere and the requested meeting was just as unexpected. Obviously with Mondragon Labs heart cloning technique being a headliner on news reports across the country. The only reason Luke could think of for the CEO of Mondragon Labs to be scheduling a meeting was for security reasons. After some brief research he became even more confused. It seemed that Mondragon Labs employed their own security personnel. While that wasn't strange for a company of its size it made the request for a meeting even more puzzling. Did they simply want a security consultation? Jacobs & Jacobs was becoming somewhat well known for its mutant employees that were able to test systems in a way that had never been widely used.
Luke had chosen to make use of one of the small conference rooms instead of his office for this particular meeting. While his office wasn't cramped by any means, it was still rather full of office furniture and necessary files. The meeting room would make a much more relaxed atmosphere for whatever the subject of this get together might be.
The room was well lit, being in one of the corner spaces meant that two of the walls were solid window. The outside was mirrored so that noone in another building could be looking in but those in the room could still look out. The only furniture, besides three healthy looking plants set in the outside corners of the room, was the medium sized conference table and charis. It was built to seat eight comfortably with more of an oval design than the standard rectangle. In the center of the table were two silver caraffe's, one with coffee and one with ice water. A platter of cheese and fruit danishes sat next to them along with several upturned glasses that simply waited to be put into use.
Luke sat in a chair that was toward the center of the far side of the table. He had never been one for being at the head and he most deffinately preferred to be near the refreshments. He was dressed casually in black loafers, charcoal gray pants, blue and white vertical striped shirt, and a burgundy tie. His sunglasses were settled firmly on his nose and remained in a relaxed position in his chair. Finally he heard the sound of his secretary greeting someone and then the door opened.
"Hello." Luke offered pleasantly as he rose to his feet, "I'm Luke Jacobs."

The metal hand was a touch intimidating even for Luke but he didn't hesitate when she offered it to him. After a quick but firm handshake Luke withdrew his hand and picked up his own sandwich again. Smiling ever so slightly to himself he took a bite of the foot and chewed thoughtfully as he tried to think about what he should say in order to start the conversation moving where he wanted it to go. He had found the mysterious "Meld" and now he needed information and advice without making it obvious what he was looking for.
"I've been around here for a couple years now." Luke responded after swallowing his bite of food, "I actually live in the city but I have enough friends here that I have to come out and visit every so often."
There would be no mention of the brawl or the X-Men. If she didn't recognize him as a part of the team she would be more likely to reveal what he wanted to know. Taking another bite he returned to chewing. What would be a safe topic? Would she want to talk about their various mutations? Would she want to discuss something more safe like the weather?
"I think we may have actually met before... though you wouldn't remember." Luke finally said, deciding to break the ice with the extremely wierd situation he had experienced several weeks before, "Apparently another mutant somehow made me switch bodies with someone and I met up with a girl like you at a bookstore downtown. She had the metal arm and metal tail and since I can't remember an introduction I have to assume that was you, unless you know different."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Luke had to pause. Maybe that was something he shouldn't have brought up. After all, not all mutants could accept all other mutations. The whole body switching thing might be a little bit much for a first time conversation. Well, the horse was out of the barn so all he could do was try and judge Meld's reaction.

Luke took a seat in the control room and sipped at the bottle of water he had grabbed. The speakers in the room were turned up so he could hear what was going on and his sonar was extended up to monitor the team's movements. So far they were going through the basic introductions, getting some idea of what each of them could do. That was smart and deffinately would help them accomplish the goal that they were out to achieve. Now the question was how the team dynamic would work for them. Would one of the three step up and try to take a leadership role or would they simply continue treating each other as equals?
Leaning his head back against the cushion of the chair Luke settled in for what he was sure would be an interesting show.
(OOC: This is my last post until the simulation is complete. Your three targets will be waiting to try to ambush you all unless someone splits up. If any of you split away from the group then they'll try to attack you while you're still separated. Enjoy the RP!)

Luke did his best to hide a slight grin as Ghost pointedly ignored Sam's request for an introduction. Obviously the air-mancer was getting even more annoyed and frustrated with the whole situation and obviously she wanted to keep this at least somewhat personal.
"I offered the Commissioner and updated security system for all of his precincts and he said he'd take it under advisement." Luke spoke up, adding in the information he had obtained once Ghost had left, "He seemed receptive to everything we were talking about but still a little bit suspicious. If we does get the system I'm going to keep my hands off as much as possible so that he doesn't start to feel even more suspicious that we might use the system to spy on the police force."
The final question uttered by the young woman confirmed all that Luke had been thinking. Ghost wanted to get away from everyone and deal with her father in her own way on her own terms. After having seen them at the police station and in the can Luke was sure that Ghost was safe. The two of them might have family issues to take care of but there had been nothing to indicate any sort of violence would be carried out.
"Sam, this is Ghost's father. I'm sure they've got a lot of catching up to do so if you want, I can answer any questions you have." Luke spoke up, turning his head so that his sunglass covered eyes were staring in Sam's direction. Hopefully the X-Men leader would take the hint and let Ghost leave. Luke would of course be glad to tell him everything he knew about Ghost and her father but that wouldn't be much.

The drive to the mansion was relatively pleasant by Luke could tell by the change in Ghost's voice that she was becoming more irritated or stressed. He did what he could to try and relieve the tension by actually shutting his sonar off but it didn't seem to help completely. Maybe she had already been dealing with his sound waves for to long or maybe her Dad was really starting to get to her. Whatever the reason, by the time they pulled up to the mansion Ghost was on a mission.
The young woman's steps were quick and after Luke had paid the cab driver he had to hurry after them in order to try and catch up. "She has a really nice bookstore downtown. You'll have to go by and see it sometime." Luke commented as he finally closed the distance, catching the front door before it could close completely.
The play by play comments from Father to Daughter was enough to make Luke want to wince but he trailed bravely after them, trying to keep his sonar to a minimum so that he didn't bother Ghost any further.
"Your daughter's touchiness might be my fault." Luke spoke up when he walked into the meeting room behind the family members, "My sight replacement ability has the side effect of sometimes making people irritable when they're around me for long periods of time. Your daughter and I have been working together all day so she's probably getting to that point."
He wasn't trying to make excuses for Ghost but he was deffinately trying to defend her. While Ghost and her father might not have a good relationship now, there was no reason to simply allow things to completely fall apart. No, if he could help the two of them mend their broken fences then he was deffinately going to do it. Even if it was something as simple as taking a bit of blame, he was willing to do it.

Half of the sandwich and several handfulls of popcorn had dissapeared before an individual of interest walked into the kitchen. For a few moments Luke remained silent, chewing thoughtfully and his sonar swept over the figure, mapping her out in his head. She looked relatively familiar in different ways and behind his sunglasses Luke's eyes narrowed in concentration. Hadn't he seen her at the brawl? Obviously he'd been distracted with Calley for most of it but he could have sworn that this woman had popped up on the edge of his field of 'vision'. She had been fighting against the rest of his friends, or at least that's what he had thought.
"Is that metal?" Luke wondered, tilting his head and focusing his sonar more tightly on the woman's arm and what looked like a tail. If it was then... was this the woman he had met back in the bookstore while he was in another body? What had she said her name was? He just couldn't place it at the moment. Had it been Meld? He wasn't completely sure about the name but she deffinately had metal body parts.
"Thankfully they keep the fridge and cupboards well stocked." Luke piped up once he had finished chewing his current bite, "I believe we can thank Katrina's mom for that. I'm Luke Jacobs, by the way. I don't think we've met before."
If this was the girl from the book store than Luke had met her before though she wouldn't remember it. After all, he looked and sounded completely different in his normal body instead of when he looked like Juka. Now the questionw as whether this was the contact that Luke was really looking to establish. Could she be the connection that would get him a meeting at the Sanctuary?
