Everyday clothing style: Comfortable. Gawain wears jeans and T-shirts, Maya wears baggy pants and T-shirts or tank tops. She never wears skirts or heels, and often forgets to wear a bra (not that she really needs one anyway). Colors are usually blue, green, brown and earth colors.

Miscellaneous clothing: Both Maya and Gawain wear the same green baseball cap, most of the time.

Character

Personality: Mirror is independent to the extreme. Likes to go wherever and whenever s/he wants to. Curious beyond measure, wants to see everything. Likes pushing limits, both those of hers and those of others. Cheeky. Practical joker and trickster, but not one for causing damage or harm, and doesn't mess with people weaker than her. Not cruel. Still young; sometimes very childish, in both senses of the word. Just getting interested in girls (in both forms). Aiming to become a true ladies' man (erhm, woman). Doesn't go there too often, but likes poking into people's lives, giving advice, sometimes even helping out (role models are Robin Hood and the Magic Mirror).
Hobbies/ Interests: Traveling. Poking into other people's business. Likes reading too - mythologies, especially.
Job or part time job and description: none. Should be in school, doesn't care much.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Getting trapped in a mirror. Not finding Mom ever again.
Special talents: Has good rythm and balance. Does some street dancing, occasionally.

Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral. Good deep down - maybe one day it will show.

Mutations

Mutation description: (this is the weaker of the two, but this was the one that manifested first)
Mirror is both male and female. Changes back and forth all the time.
Strengths: S/he is still working on it. One thing for sure: Mirror is not scyzophrenic. Maya and Gawain is the same person, same personality, same taste, same talents, same powers. It's just the body that changes. Has two names to avoid awkward situations, nothing else.
Weaknesses: Mirror doesn't control the change. Automatically changes sex once a day - at night, while sleeping. So every morning Mirror wakes up as a he or a she - Maya or Gawain. Her days are marked as B-days and G-days (boy and girl, obviously). Besides the obvious, there is not much difference between the two bodies - same strength, same stamina, same eyes and hair color. She even resembles himself, like identical twins. This causes some problems for a teenager, and a lot of explaining to do if s/he is not careful...

Secondary mutation description:
Mirror is a special kind of shapeshifter - s/he can merge into mirrors or other reflecting surfaces, and move within them, or from one into another. They don't have to be as big as a person, just big enough to reflect her face in whole (!). This means a couple of things:
1.
Strengths:
While in a mirror, s/he can appear as her own self, or as anybody else who is reflected in the same mirror. In the latter case, s/he takes over the existing reflection, does not duplicate it.
Weaknesses:
- She doesn't copy the person - all is just an optical illusion. She doesn't take talents, knowledge, style or powers from the person she copies. It's just the looks - the rest depends or her acting talents.
-She can't interact with any object reflected in the mirror (except for the ones s/he carried in there, like clothing) - those are just images too.
- S/he can't be invisible. S/he is either herself, or someone who is reflected.
- (power growth November 2010) Objects taken into a mirror by Gawain/Maya and left there stay in the mirror forever (or until Mirror goes back for them). While in a mirror, an object can't be accessed in any other way only by Mirror him/herself (or another mirrorwalker). On its own, the object can't move to another mirror. If the mirror gets destroyed, the object falls out of it, damaged by the breaks.
Objects, just like Mirror him/herself, don't interact with the reflections.

2.
Strengths:
S/he can move from one mirror (or reflecting surface) to any other within a one mile radius. If there are are other mirrors between the two, s/he will appear in them, passing by. S/he can enter any mirror (or reflecting surface) and exit any of them too.
Going between mirrors does not take up time for her/him, that's what makes traveling easy. She walks out of view in one and appears in the next.

Weaknesses:
- Mirror has to touch a surface to enter into it.
- If the item is not a real mirror, it has to be a stable reflecting surface with a clear reflection and minimal or no disortions at all. E.g. Mirr can only enter a window if it has some solid dark surface behing it so objects (and people) can cleary be seen on the glass.
- If a mirror/surface is damaged while s/he is in it, s/he gets hurt too. E.g. if someone breaks a mirror with Maya in it, Maya will suffer the hit plus additional cuts from the shattering glass.
S/he can be trapped in a mirror if there are no other mirrors within her range, or if the mirror is completely separated from every contact (e.g. levitated in the air).
- She is not certain about what would happen if a mirror got shattered or a reflection erased while there are no other mirrors in her range to run to. Most probabl she'd either disappear, or fall out of the mirror, badly damaged. S/he made sure to never get into a situation like that.

3. (power growth November 2010)
Mirror is able to take people into the mirrors too. S/he can take them in, pull them out, and move them from mirror to mirror.

Strengths:
- Only Mirror can put a person inside a mirror, and only s/he can take them out. They can enter and exit on their own. Essentially, they are trapped.
In order to go in, or come out, they need to be connected to Mirror in some way. (holding hands, tied together etc.)
- Mirror can trap up to 5 people in the mirror world this way (in 5 separate mirrors, see Weaknesses)

Weaknesses:
- In order to put an object or a person into a mirror, or pull them out, Mirror has to go in too (s/he can't push someone in or out). Same rules apply as before.
- A person inside a mirror is trapped for a minimum of 24 hours. As time passes, the effect of Mirror's powers slowly go weaker; depending on the Mental Strength of the person and how determined she or he is, after the 24 hours are up they can exit on their own (or fall out).
- Moving between mirrors alone (without Mirror's help) in only possible for a person with a Mental Strength of 10 or above. People on this level can force their way from mirror to mirror, just like Maya/Gawain does. They still can't enter and exit the mirror world on their own, but they can move (same rules apply to traveling between mirrors as do to Mirror him/herself, see Mirror's power description)
- Only one person can be in one mirror. Mirror can take up to 5 people into the mirror world, but they all have to be in separate mirrors. Also, s/he can only move one person from mirror to mirror at a time.
- Same rules apply to people inside a mirror than to Mirror him/herself. If the mirror is damaged, they get hurt. If the mirror shatters into pieces, they fall out of it, very bady hurt, possibly dead. If the mirror is just cracked or broken, they get wounded according to the damage on the glass.
- The mirror world is just an illusion, a place to trap people; they still grow hungry or thirsty, and time flows the same.

Note: putting people into the mirror world requires OOC permission. After the 24 hour limit the player can decide when his/her character falls out/exists the mirror world.

Fighting style

Explanation: Never learned any martial arts. However, s/he is more than happy to use her own fists, teeth, nails, knees and anything s/he can grab. Can be quite vicious and fight dirty. Quite good with a switchblade too.
Pros for fighting style: Works on the streets.
Cons for fighting style: Mirror is a teenager. Not strong enough to take on adult opponents, or anyone who has more fighting experience than her.

History Of Your Character:
Mirror's father is unknown. Her mother was a mutant - a shapeshifter, whose abilities (part of them anyway) somehow got transferred to the child. Ever since the first visits at the maternity clinic, the child seemed to be a boy one day and a girl another, which left the doctors baffled, to say the least. When Maya was born, her mother sneaked out of the hospital, afraid that her mutant abilities - or the child's - will be discovered. She knew she was right to do that when the next morning she woke up with little Gawain in her arms.
Mirror's life got organized around her constantly switching body - the few people who knew the strange mother and her child thought that Gawain and Maya were twins, although never seen together. They moved a lot from one place to another, mainly around the Seattle area and Washington state. Mom taught her child the ways of survival in a world that hates or fears mutants.
Mirror was 13 years old when one day Mom disappeared without a note, a goodbye or a trace, leaving the child all alone. Being left in an apartment that was not paid for with some food and things well learned, the kid instantly decided to go and look for her. After weeks spent in the city and on the streets, after getting beaten up and chased and after being hungry and cold, one day young Gawain running from a gang of teenagers realized too late he was headed towards a darkened shopwindow at full speed - and the next thing he knew, he disappeared in it. That was the day the child called Maya and Gawain became the young mutant called Mirror.
Ever since then Mirror has been traveling via mirrors, windows and other relecting surfaces, with occasional trips into the real world (to steal some stuff or have some fun), looking into every house, every shop. Looking for Mother. And friends. And a place to call home again.

Sample RP:

Five-year-old Ana Mary Miller sat in front of her huge, white-and-rose framed bedroom mirror, and watched mesmerized as the strange girl walked into view. She was a lot older than her, almost a grown-up; she had a backpack on, and a green baseball cap, and earplugs connected to some music device in one of her huge pockets. She bobbed her head slightly as she walked across the reflection of the pink-and-fluffy room. Ana turned her little head very slowly and glanced behind herself. Nobody there. Ever so slowly she reached out, and tapped a finger on the glass.
The strange girl caught the movement in the corner of her eye, jumped and turned towards her. Pulling off her earplugs, she smiled.
"Hiya, kid. Didn't see ya there. I'm not scaring ya, am I?..."
Ana shook her head, blond braids flying left and right. She got a toothy grin in return.
"Good gal. Now, would ya like to help me?"
A nod.
"Shiny. Look." the girl walked over to the mirror, kneeling down on the other side. Pulling a piece of paper from her back pocket, she held it against the glass. It was a photo of a lady. A very pretty lady.
"My name is Maya, and I'm looking for her. Have ya seen her?"
Ana looked at the picture carefully, than slowly shook her head. The shadow of a frown crossed Mirror-Maya's face; it was gone in an instant, the girl smiled, nodded, and the picture returned to its place in the baggy pocket.
"Never mind. Thanks."
Turning her back, she walked away; whe almost disappeared behind the left-side frame when a tiny voice stopped her.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of all?...."
Looking back at Ana, the girl grinned like a Cheshire cat.
"You are, kid. Of course you are."
