The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nope. He wasn't having any sort of odd dream. People were really fanclubbing over his girlfriend. He recognized it immediately, because at the convention, the same thing had happened to him. His jaw slowly slacked until it was open as a kid asked for her autograph.
His cheek kinda hurt.
Also... what was that in his gut... For just a second, did he feel a twinge of... jealousy? He beat it back fervently... He refused to allow himself such feelings; he knew why he fought crime, and it wasn't for the damned fans. It was nice to be recognized, though. Still, Andrea looked afraid more than anything else. He was about to step in when the woman did instead.
"People! People, we cannot crowd the poor girl! Off you go! I'm sure you will get a chance to talk to her late1... for a small sum!" The woman grinned widely and shoo'd the crowd off... Saph stepped up to Andrea again, placing himself just a bit in the way.
"A... small sum? What exactly is going on, here?" The woman turned to him, as if noting his presence for the first time; she then looked to Andrea again. "How would you like to be famous?" She stated, still displaying that Cheshire grin. "Because I tell you... you're made of gold."
He was just as confused as she was. Why would random strangers want to take pictures of them? Did... Did they recognize him as the Masochist? Did they even know about the X-men here? He tugged her hand, and lead her off down the terminal. "Hey, don't worry... It's prolly jus nuthin. Even if something's up... I'm here. I'll keep you safe." He didn't mention his suspicions about them being fans of the X-men... After all, he was only a trainee at the moment, and people in New York didn't even recognize him very often... It had been a nice thought, though.
"Eh... So, I've actually never flown before... Did you have any baggage? I just brought my papers and stuff... Wasn't really thinking about clothes or all that when I bought the ticket." He looked around nervously... weren't they supposed to go to... like... some sorta baggage area? He let go of her hand for a second to scratch the back of his head. Man, having a cast on your arm really made everything more difficult... He wasn't a fan. To think.. after years of vigilante work and the dangers of being an X-man... A car crash gave him his first broken bone. He almost chuckled a little at the thought. When he reached out to grab her gloved hand again, another hand was already reaching for it.
A blonde woman with sun glasses and pointy ears came out of nowhere, and grabbed at Andrea's hand, meaning to shake it. "Wow... Just... Wow... You are perfect... Snakes and everything... Wow. It's a pleasure, it really is... Oh, how rude of me; my name is Cassandra." The woman, smiled expectantly, waiting for a name.
Saphirus just stared for a moment, looking to Andrea, and then back to the woman. She had a clip board in her hand, and was dressed in business attire; very professional. She was also a visible mutant... Though her mutation was not so extreme. Suffice to say, she looked a bit like an elf... A... business elf.

CRRRRRASH! "Huff.... Huff.." It had been a long day.
KA-KRAK! Thump! The sound of a tree dying a horrible death rang out, a common occurence on the forests of Mabaodi these days. Why was that? Well, these trees had chosen to attack the wrong person, is all.
Teeth chattered violently as wide, wild eyes darted about in an alerted state. The man was ravaged... Half of his body was covered in scratches, most not very deep, though some where a bit concerning. He spat out some blood, and turned to growl, smacking a charging monkey into oblivion. A primal roar scratched its way out of his throad as he lept ten feet into the air, landing on a small shack's roof. A hand went to his face to wipe blood from his eyes... all it did was deposit more... most of it wasn't his.
An inhuman roar came from the shack below him, and his soon matched it, though his was more filled with despair.
Everything had been going fine. Koga and he had made it quite far up the river from Jorge's push, and they made it to the village with little incident. That was when everything went horribly... horribly wrong.
He fell down to one knee, breathing heavily as he heard the shack's door pop open, and saw a hand reach up to the roof. Another scream of rage and disgust ripped from his throat as he smacked the edge fo the roof with a powerful, energy assisted blow. The corner of the roof shattered, and Saphirus wailed again, falling back on his behind, and then down once again as the shacks thin roof collapsed. He was inside a dusty room. There he sayed, breathing, maybe crying a little, he couldn't tell...
He'd killed so many of them... Women... children. Innocent people. Victims. Their blood was on his hands... But what could he do? The door in front of him opened slowly, revealing a silhouet with an arm hangs from it's stump by a few strands of flesh... The figure moved forward, but lurched to a stop as a metal sphere passed through it's head, and it fell dead. Saphirus stared for a moment longer, letting his hand drop back to his side...
What could he do? He couldn't save the people of Mabaodi... Even if they still walked... there were already dead.
Guaging question! Who here is ready to hop onto phase 2 already? Anything we can do in 1 we can still do in 2, but with a few more options, wachu all think?

From around here... No place to live... It was damn familiar. Saph sat back in his chair, his arms crossed, eyes locked on the giant of a man. He let out a sigh as well, and scratched his head, running a hand down his face afterward. Yup. If it weren't for the fact they looked nothing at all alike, he might as well be looking in a mirror. Then again, it would have been a mirror from three years ago. Damn, he'd really changed a lot in three years.
"You're homeless, then... What do you do for food? Wait, you answered that already... You steal." He didn't say it in an accusatory fashion... hell, it was more empathetic than anything. "Look... What if I told you I've been where you are now? I've been homeless. I've been a thief. Hell, I even kidnapped a baby on accident once... Long story. But all that can change... This place. The place you came here hoping to rob? It will give you food, it'll give you a roof... but it's more than that... This place will give you a future."
He sat forward, placing his elbows on the table, and looking Monstrosity straight in the eye. The older man didn't seem quite as prickly as he had when Mo had first... introduced himself. "All you gotta do is be willing to change... An' I know it ain't easy, but I was nothing before I came here... I had nothing... No one... Three years later, I'm the happiest I've ever been. You can have the same..." He then sharpened up again, the soft look in his eyes turning into one that could practically cut. "But if you ain't willing to try... you might as well leave. These people are good, and I won't have them being scammed, or taken advantage of. You understand?"
He heard Andrea heading back down the hallway again, and his 'i will kill you' stare turned into a friendly smile once more. "You don't have to make a decision tonight. You can stay the night, and take your time with it. We have a guest room with an extra large bed..."
((Mo's go, and then Andy can jump right back in!))

Saph had a feeling... you know, that clench you got in your gut when you just knew danger was nearby? He reached out with his sixth sense as Sam inquired about it. Slowly, he reached out and retrieved his crowbar from his coat, holding it tight in one hand... His sense felt small hints of movement, but nothing was really moving quick enough for him to get a lock on it. "I can't tell... That don't mean she isn't here, though."
Sam was yelling for her, so if she was here and chose to run, he would feel it... That was for sure. He stepped into the warehouse cautiously, eyeing the tail of a dog as it rounded the corner into the next room. "... You smell something... It's kinda like... something's cooking." He uttered under his breath... It was cold in here; he wondered if it still got heating.
"I wish they'd knock places like this down... It's practically begging for lowlifes to hunker down and run drugs out of..." He knew because he'd been a less acute brand of lowlife in the past. Back in the day he and his friends would have loved to have a spot like this to huddle in; it was better than the streets, after all.
As they moved further into the warehouse, he quieted up, and the air got more tense. If she was here, they'd see her any moment... Whether or not them seeing her lead to a battle, he didn't know, but he was damned sure he'd be ready for it.

Something changed in Andrea as she watched her... It was a little hard to gauge emotion without looking into someone's eyes, but he knew he well enough by now that he could work around it; she was scared. She was lost. her words echoed the look on her face, and he looked around for a moment as well...
Heh... well, if they were lost, they were lost together. She echoed his sentiment, and he winked. "I love you too... Why don't we start by getting outa here... Hey, maybe we can check this place out, right? There's gotta be some tourist attractions and stuff here, right? Some of that ancient myth kinda stuff?" He didn't know a lot about Greece, to be honest, but they did cover some of the legends and stuff in elementary school... A long time ago. Wasn't there a dude with wing shoes?
"Isn't there a dude with wing shoes?" He couldn't help but ask. He was a little nervous, after all. "Ahem.... Anyways, lets go!" He started walking, and since she was attached to him, she didn't have much of a choice. "You know... I noticed people here don't look at you the same way... It's odd... I can't quite put my... finger... on it..." He paused in front of an advert with a very obvious mutant on it, displaying an MP3 player. "Woah... Don't see stuff like that back home..." He took a closer look... The mutant, a woman with orange skin, and flames for hair, was posed in model fashion, and below her it stated in exuberant font. "Be what's hot." Along with the product name. Heh... It was actually kinda clever. A passing couple stopped and took a picture at them without explaining, hurrying off to catch their flight.

A look of pleasant surprise appeared on his face as he was practically tackled, though it quickly turned into a wince. She was glad to see him... That made him feel very happy; it was enough to make his heart flutter. To be honest, he wasn't sure how this was going to go... He kinda felt like he'd screwed up. After all, he was the one who chose to drive drunk, and she was getting punished for that action... Even if she'd opted to switch places with him...
His good arm patted her, though it absorbed the force so it was like a feathery half-pat, as she balled all over him... It almost made him chuckle, how hysterical she was. She must have been so scared. It was okay, though... "Hey, hey... Why you cryin so much, huh? Yer gonna make me cry, too, and we don't want that. Can't be off in a country I don't know with no man card, you know?"
She let go and backed away for a moment, asking what he was doing there, and noticing his arm. "I-uh... I was in a car crash. I made a stupid decision, and someone I love very much got hurt because of it. I came here to ask if she'll forgive me... I gue-" She was at him again, and this time he did chuckle. "C'mon... Only so much water in you, and you'll need some of it to show me around..." Not that she knew her way around; apparently she lived on an island a good ride away from Athens, where they were. "Sides, I'm starving... All they had left on the plane was... well, the fish, but I've seen Airplane and I know that never ends well..."

"So, eh... Why so blue panda bear?" The voice came from off to the side, it's exact source, a man quickly moving to catch up to her, and keep pace. Several things stuck out about this man; among those, a wide grin on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and a cast and sling on his arm. There was also the fact that he would be very easy to recognize, even with half of his face still littered with still healing scratches.
The sentence was a bit odd, coming from him, but he'd seen a commercial on the plane five times on the way here... Something about a candy bar that turned into a woman. It was funny, but he'd honestly been way too busy looking out the wide first class window... He'd gotten an upgrade because the person at the terminal was apparently an X-men fanatic, and had recognized him. He had to say, he didn't mind the comfortable seating, as well as the quick scheduling, though it was soured a bit; he knew Andrea wasn't likely getting the same treatment. Still, his flight had gotten here hours before hers, and it meant he could surprise her at the gateway... like he was doing now.
Also, he probably wouldn't have found her if he'd gotten here later. He couldn't have that... It wasn't like the was visiting Greece for S&G... He was here for her. He'd forced them to let him out of the hospital early so they he could get on an early flight just so that she wouldn't be alone... And so that he could find a way to bring her back. The grin on his face slowly turned into a warm smile he looked into the lenses of her sunglasses, finding her muted eyes behind them.
"You didn't think I'd let you run away so easily, did ya?"

The older trainee eyed Locke as he objected to getting on the boat for a moment... For just a second, he was mad. He was a damned X-man! How could he let discomfort or fear stop him from saving lives?! Still, he took a deep breath... Maybe he was being a little too hard on him; beside, the way Rebecca was talking, it looked like he might be useful elsewhere.
Saph turned and eyed the wall of water before him; it distorted the world on the other side, but his eyes were locked on where he'd seen the boat. He knew why he'd become one of the X-men... Yeah, there was a large bit about proving to himself he was a good person, but in the end he did it so that he could save lives; defend people that couldn't defend themselves. "There may be some villagers left... If there are, someone has to help them. I'm taking that rout." He eyed Slate for a moment... Yeah, it was important to have someone to heal the heroes, but what if there were wounded villagers as well? They'd signed up for this, the villagers hadn't. He was a little disappointed in the man for opting to go toward the volcano. Then again, he couldn't say he was surprised... His reasoning was sound as well, it just didn't fit in well with the older man's somewhat self-sacrificing sentimentalism. At this point, he was starting to think he and Slate just weren't the type to see eye to eye.
"If we're gonna be on the river, we'll need someone who can get us up stream fast... Detective... you up to the task?" He really couldn't think of anyone else that could get them to the village out of the reach of the trees. With Locke, Slate, and Rebecca going up to the volcano, they could use the powerful elemental's help, too. He eyed Koga as well, wondering where he would be headed; the village seemed to be the most obvious option, though his knowledge might be useful at the volcano as well.
He blushed a little bit when she complimented him; good for him he was pretty sure she couldn't tell when he was blushing. Still, his little smile toward her might give away his drunken bashfulness. "I hope it stays on a while... But did you hafta use super glue?"
Pulling out of the parking spot they were in, he started to feel a little... wrong... Maybe... No... It was nothing, he could get them home. A glance over to the woman next to him made him wonder if maybe they should get a taxi... Unfortunately, when he looked back at the road, he was already half way home... the hell? "Babe... babe I think I drank too much... I'm... gonna pull ov-"
...
There was no sound... Maybe there was, but he couldn't remember... All the remembered was seeing a red light pass above his head, and feeling powerless to do anything about it. And then everything went blank.
When he woke up, he was surrounded by softness... Everything was blurry, almost pleasant... He felt a dull, faint ache in his arm, which he couldn't really seem to move... It took a moment for reality to set in; Saphirus was in the hospital. His arm was in a cast. He'd... gotten in a car accident.
Andrea wasn't here. He sat up suddenly, wincing as an IV was tugged. A passing nurse caught sight of him, and walked in. "Sir? Sir, lay back. You were in a car accident; you're in no condition to move around."
"Andrea... Where is she?"
"The girl? She's fine... She rode with you in before they brought her in."
"Brought her in?" The nurse gave him a sympathetic look for a moment.
"Yes... She was a drunk driver, and she wasn't harmed in the accident... They took her to the precinct." His eyes widened as he heard the news... What the hell? What was going on.
"No... no, look, there's been a mix up... They got it wrong... I- I was driving. I drove drunk." The nurse gave him a sour look.
"Yeah, I'm sure you had a fun time of it from the passenger seat. Get some rest." Before he knew it, she was gone, and the meds were kicking in again, and the world was getting further away...
Wow. If he hadn't been accidentally rufied by this guy, he might have felt very, very sorry for him.
As it was, he really couldn't. In hindsight, if he were completely sober, he would have probably just given the guy a good beating and gone home, but terrorizing the poor kid and sending him on his way just seemed like the right thing to do at the time; and boy was it the funniest thing he'd ever seen in his life.
Before too long he was sitting in a very strange club, watching the stage, a drink in his hand as Phil waddled out onto stage, his hands bound, wearing a giant egg costume. The crowd screamed and whistled as if they knew what was coming, but Saph didn't have a clue; all Megan would give him was a knowing smile and a loud laugh. Two big burly men in leather suits dragged the egg onto the stage, and up to the mic, where they let him go... He looked around nervously, jumping when a whip was cracked behind him. "A-ah! Um... uh... I'm a bad egg... look at me.... I'm a bad egg... um..." WHIP-CRACK- "W-watch me be! I was the worst of the batch... now th-the bad eggs going to hatch."
With a sharp tug, the costume was pulled off, revealing nothing other than a diaper... How did they get him into that? Oh... poor man... The crowd loved it though. Saph couldn't stop laughing as he looked around, still confused. "The hell is this place?" The baby was paraded around stage, dragged behind curtains, told to do some pretty humiliating stuff, some of which Saph would force himself to forget... In the end, they dragged him off, much to the crowd's displeasure. Apparently he was a born star.
Bonnie came to invite them back after the show was over, to collect their prisoner. Honestly, Saph didn't know where to start when it came to topping that... They would have to go to another bar to get the brain juices flowing, there.
One round of forced karaoke there, and a few more drinks, and the juices were starting to flow just fine! Part of his plan involved getting poor Phil terribly drunk.
"Heh.. Doozy! What a.. a funny word."Saph looked at her with a half confused smirk "You're talkin crazy, babe. What's this about Doozy? ... Doozy... Heh... S'kinda a funny word... Dooooozy. You're drunk, aren't you? Heh... Lightweight!" He cooed stumbling about in place a few steps before grabbing his keys from her.
With keys in hand, he navigated around his car to the driver side, pausing as he saw the white line of the parking space before him... He walked down it like it was a police exam, ignoring the one or two stumbles on the way... Hah! See? He was fine! He turned to see her struggling with the door, and smiled warmly as he leaned forward, and placed his elbows against the top of the car to watch her for a moment... "You know... I really love you..." He then leaned back from his position when he realized the roof of the car was a little damp, and he was now wet, too...
Dangit!
The inebriated mutant ducked into his car, and reached over to unlock the door that Andrea was struggling with, giving him a moment to giggle at her.
"heh heh heh... C'mon, beautiful! We got a warm bet to get to!"
Without much more thought, he buckled up, and turned the ignition.
"-I never thought I'd ever see you drink, though! Heh... You know... I liked this." He chuckled as he opened the door for her. "We should do it again... All of it! Even the part with the wrecking ball. I wouldn't even mind that!" His arm rested on her shoulder as they left the restaurant/pub. "An' I told you, right? I told you if you just tried it, you'd like it!" A smug grin formed on his face as he popped a breath mint into his mouth to mask the smell of alcohol on his breath.
He was drunk. She'd made him finish that last drink for her... Still, he'd driven this drunk plenty of times! It wasn't like this time would be any different. He reached out to her. "Ey, my keys are in your purse, right? I got this." He smiled a bit, and then leaned in to give her a kiss... Not for any specific reason, just because he felt like it.
"Don't want you freezing anyone when you check your blindspot again!" He laughed about it because no one got hurt, but it was a serious issue. He was already thinking of ways to fix it, though... Maybe windows tinted in the right way would help... He paused as he stopped right behind his old, beat up car. "Awww... We forgot to get dessert! I can't believe it, after all that talk!" He placed a hand on his car, and the back bumper fell on the ground. He lifted it and stuck it on again, pressing hard on the duct tape so it would stay. "Heh... oops... Well, back home? You... eh... You wanna sleep in my room tonight?" The X-Man waggled his eyebrows, and looked to the obviously plastered snakes on her head. If you ever had a chance to see a drunk snake, it was best not to pass it up; it really was hilarious.
