The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It had been a slow night; no students having a nightmare and blowing up the dorms, no dangerous villains muahaha-ing as they tried to beat down the front door. Nothing. He couldn't complain about that, though. It had been a trying couple of weeks for him, and having a chance to kick back and watch some television screens for a while was practically a cake walk.
He took a sip of his FISTFACE energy drink, eyeing the can for a short moment; A man, with a fist for a chin, was face punching a sheep. He chuckled a little, and set the can down; what would they think up next? His eyes found the cameras once again; he had to admit it was a bit boring, staring at the screens, waiting for nothing, but he couldn't say he didn't like the job; It was better than being on the streets. He knew that personally. A fond memory popped into his head; he was only days away from the anniversary of his arrival at the mansion. He remembered his blatantly idiotic attempt to sneak into the school, and the shock he'd felt when he'd, well, been shocked by the defense system. He wondered what Jewel was up to these days...
The ex homeless man imagined Streak had been sitting in this very seat that night. A chuckle slipped out as he checked to make sure the electricity traps were off; he didn't see the point in having them on while he was watching the grounds personally... Didn't want some poor sap to get zapped like he did. Not that anyone was going to try and sneak up on the mansion on a silent night like this.
A grin formed on his face as he saw a familiar shape walking toward the kitchen. Andrea was up for her midnight snack; he hoped the fridge would survive the encounter... Part of him wondered if she would stop in for a visit like she usually did. The grin turned into a fond smile; she really was adorable.
He really was fortunate this place existed... Thinking back, he could see himself lying dead in a ditch if he hadn't come here those precious few years ago. Now, he was happy, healthy, and looking at a future with the girl of his dreams.
Monstrosity patrolled the streets. He hadn't slept in days. It just wasn't safe. He was 'afraid' someone would come up while he slept and cave his head in with their boot just for his empty stolen wallets. He would of bought himself a hotel room or some form of accommodation but he'd wasted all his money on booze and food. Mostly booze, when he could find a bar that would serve him. People just didn't seem to want to serve a the mutant a drink these days...or any days for that matter. He hadn't been aloud to drink before he was like this.
James marched down the side-walk. He saw a few people still wandering the road. They moved out of his way or crossed the street as soon as they saw him coming, which was fine with him. He'd been treated like this for far too long for it to effect him now. The humans didn't understand...and neither did most of the mutants. They could blend in and never be noticed if they wanted but he had to live with it and it's made him the man he is today. He's grown cold and he knew he had.
Minutes or maybe hours passed before Monstrosity came to, he'd been walking for what felt like forever. It was then that he noticed the building. It was huge. It looked amazing. Almost something out of a dream. It was a Mansion. He knew exactly what he was going to do with it. James watched the wall for a moment, judging how he'd get over. The giant backed up a little and charged for the wall.
He made a leap just before he collided with the wall. The wall seemed steady enough to hold him for now but he wasn't going to sit on it all night. The massive mutants dropped from the wall with a thud. He tried to be stealthy, atleast until he got close to the building. James moved towards the building, making a bee-line to one of the windows.
A growling stomach never made sleep easy. Especially when that growling stomach somehow knew how to growl louder if you ignored it.
Having marched herself bleary eyed to the kitchen, shuffling along in slippers and her pj's, she found herself wondering how Saphirus was doing up in his office-thing. Maybe after she grabbed a snack for herself, she'd grab something for him and take it up to him. She knew he spent quite a few hours tucked away, watching all sorts of security type things all night, which she was sure left him with little time to make sure he was properly taking care of himself. Really, she didn't understand why so many camera's were needed in the first place... What could possibly ever go wrong in a school full of x-men, that so many camera's would be needed?
Laughing to herself, the Greek set about piling a plate high with various things she found in the kitchen.
Once her stomach was full and content, she snagged a large bowl and filled that as well. Grapes, a few apples, a sandwich with lots of different sliced meats piled inside, and a good sized cup of coffee. Surely, he would need it!
Smiling to herself, she adjusted the apron she'd thrown on over her tank top and pants, and lifted the bowl and cup up on a handy little tray. It was a little walk to where Saph was located, and she didn't want to trip and send food stuffs flying everywhere in the middle of the night. On her way into one of the many hallways that littered the school, Ira lashed out at the door frame (presumably greatly insulted by its very existence) and the Gorgon was softly jolted to a stop on her way past.
"Ack! Let go!" A flurry of Greek words flew as she attempted to balance her tray on one hand, so she could dislodge the snakes teeth from the wood with the other. "Ira.. You stupid.. lousy...!" The tray in her hands wobbled threateningly, forcing her to abandon the angry black serpent in order to catch it before anything fell.
Hah! She was on her way. His stomach growled a little as he eyed the sandwich she was making him. He patted it calm. "Heh... Woah, there, buddy. It'll be here soon." He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he almost didn't noticed one of the gate's motion sensors going off. The silent red dot lit up, and he pressed a few keys, flicking the screen to the gate and wall cameras... Nothing... He peered closely for a few moments... Sometimes the sensors were set off by stray cats and whatnot, but he had to be sure...
By some random stroke of luck, the giant four armed figure had gotten past the range of the gate cameras. That luck didn't last, however, as one of the pit traps opened up underneath the sneaking mutant's feet, closing over his head as he fell. Saph blinked a few times as one of the trap activation indicators popped up... Well, it looked like they'd caught something... He stood slowly, and grabbed his crowbar... He would have to hurry outside and check on the trap right away... An eye wandered to Andrea on the left most screen... She seemed a bit tangled up... His heart fluttered as he realized she was near where the trap had went off... Maybe they were necessary after all; who ever or what ever had fallen into the trap might have made it all of the way to her.
That is, if it wasn't some poor cat or something. The trainee X-man turned to head toward the exit... Maybe be would check on Andrea on the way out; tell her to get to the safety of her room... or his.
Monstrosity eyed the windows of the building. There were plenty but only a few he could fit in and reach. The extremely large mutant headed straight to the building. He was going to rob this place blind. He'd fence whatever he didn't want or need and make a nice profit, rent himself a room, finally get some new clothes and find a way to have a constant supply of both.
James moved through the grounds silently, or as silently as was possible for him. He watched the mansion for movement. He couldn't see any any exact movement, but he saw a light, a small light in one of the windows. He crouched down lower and thought a moment about whether he would go through with it. Someone was right there, to pull it off successfully he might need to take 'em out.
He finally nodded to himself and took a began once again moving. The giant only felt the ground underneath him open up and swallow him, before he could figure out what was going on, the hatch had closed above his head.
The mutant was squeezed into the tiny hole, he barely fit inside in both dimensions. Monstrosity couldn't move his two lower arms as they were pressed against the walls. His two larger arms had an effort of banging and pushing the hatch but to no avail.
Ira, for once in his squirmy little life, listened... for some reason. The Snake opened it's jaws, releasing the wood just as quickly as he'd snagged it. Andrea hadn't been expecting this, and ended up pitching forward unexpectedly. With a yelp the Greek feel, grapes and apples sailed into the air and she watched as the sandwich she'd made for Saph took flight.
With an "Oof!" she landed, flat on her stomach in the middle of the hall, and attempted to cover her head with the tray as fruit rained down on her like edible projectiles. By some stroke of luck, however, the sandwich landed undisturbed flat on the top of the tray. It took the mystified Gorgon a few seconds to realize she wasn't covered in lunch meats, but when she had she was more than happy with the outcome.
As she stood, muttering a few things in her native language, and started picking up fruit to put back on the tray, she noticed the bowl had rolled off over by a window. With an apple in hand, Andrea wandered over to pick it up. That was when she noticed a strange, bumping... thumping sound from somewhere outside. It seemed close, and yet distant at the same time. Quite confusing to someone who didn't know about the mansion's many boobytraps.
Setting the tray in her hands down on a little table beside the window, the bowl temporarily forgotten, the Greek unlatched the window and slid it open. Was someone outside maybe? Pounding on a door somewhere to be let in?
"Hello...?" Leaning halfway out, she peered right and left... but was having a terrible time seeing anything because of her glasses. The dark tint made everything look like a shadow in a shadow.
The large mutant clawed at the hatch. It wouldn't budge. What was it made of? Titanium, by the looks of the Mansion he wouldn't be surprised. He wondered what would happen now. Would some sort of security guard come and try and get him out? Would they leave him here? He couldn't tell but he wasn't waiting to find out.
A burst of rage flew from his fists as he attacked the hatch, dents appearing every now and then. He moved fast attempting to get out. His breathing increased, he didn't like cramped spaces and his heart was speeding up. He felt a burning in his chest, his head seemed to get lighter.
"Let me out! Damn you!"
Monstrosity hammered the hatch with his two free arms. He attempted to put his fingers in the tiny gap, he pulled and pulled. The doors finally opened and James climbed with his two upper arms. His two lower arms then took control of holding the hatch open and he climbed out.
Who would do something like that? Put a pit trap on the grounds? It was insane. What could they possible be hiding in there that makes a pit trap needed. Monstrosity's thoughts were broken when he heard a voice. A female voice. He turned to see a girl leaning halfway out of a window.
His eyes came into focus and he watched her. She was green. Her hair seemed to be...moving. She was a mutant. A mutant who was physically mutated...like him. A small smirk stretched his lips. She'd probably noticed him now.
...The ground? She could kind of feel it through the floor...
Thump, clang!
The ground?! A dark shape started to emerge from the ground outside, just within her field of vision. Andrea squinted, leaning out a little further to try and get a better look at the... person? It didn't look like any kind of animal. Too big, with.. were those arms?
"Hello?" She called again, before accidentally pitching head first out the window. Landing in a bush below, which scratched at her in protest, she got out a few muffled curses before crawling free from it. Pulling twigs from her hair while she collected herself and got back to her feet.
The thing that had originally gotten her attention forgotten for the moment, while she lamented to herself about how windows hated her... that is, until she noticed the really large shape standing not too far away from her. Jumping damn near out of her skin at first, she lowered her glasses to peek a better look, and caught sight of the fact that it was indeed a person. "Oh.. I'm sorry.. I didn't see y-... ou..."
Er.... he didn't seem to be wearing very much of anything in the way of clothing...
Her face darkened a few shades and then she promptly passed the heck out right there on the lawn.

The trip out to the hallway near the kitchen was a kinda long one; apparently enough for a whole lot to happen as he made his way toward where he'd last seen Andrea on the cameras... It didn't help that a student had left a roller skate out, and he'd ended up face planting because of it. Still, his ability took care of most of the force, so it was more annoying than anything. He muttered under his breath as he speed walked to the stairs, opting to jump down the whole set, landing neatly on his right leg.
If he were still in the office, he would hear the beeping of an alert stating that the trap be been damaged; he wasn't, though, so what could you do? The man slowed as he reached the hallway, and saw... well, a mess. The food his girlfriend had prepared was scattered all over the floor, and she was nowhere to be seen. His grip on the crow bar in his hands tightened as he hobbled quickly over to the scene, and looked around frantically... It didn't take long for him to spot the open window, and hurry over.
What he saw when he looked out made his eyes go wide, and then narrow in rage. Andrea was on the ground, it looked like she was unconscious. Before her was a giant of a man with four arms, and a broken pit trap. His blood boiled as the possible causes of this situation ran through his head... He saw the man grabbing Andy from her place at the window, and smashing her into the ground. He saw he pleading for help, and he was too late! He was out the window before the next thought crossed his mind. That thought being... This dude was practically naked. That brought about the image of him doing much crueler things to his beloved.
"You got one sentence... ONE @#$^ING SENTENCE to explain this in a way that won't make you dead." He said as he knelt next to the green girl, and checked her for injuries... She seemed fine, actually... "Andrea... Babe, wake up..."
Monstrosity watched the girl call out again and stumble over her words. He raised an eyebrow at her as she slumped to the floor with a thump. He knew he was scary but he'd never had someone pass out in front of him, especially another mutant. The giant was about to step towards the small woman when a man leaped out of the window and made his way over to the green-skinned mutant.
Monstrosity eyed him up, there was a good two foot difference between them. he didn't seem too tough. He could probably last in a fight however. Was he fast enough to be a problem? Probably not. James listened to the man speak. A smile broke onto his features and a small laugh escaped his lips.
"I didn't touch her, I was planning on robbing the place if you must know."
James cracked his bottom knuckles to exercise his point. He didn't want a fight, if anything he wanted to make sure the lady was fine. He didn't mind hurting people, infact he quite enjoyed it but this girl seemed ready to help him and that was something he needed to repay.

She was fine... He hadn't touched her. He didn't have to kill this guy after all. She was, however, still out cold... He would have tried to awaken her again, but, well, the four armed man spoke up threateningly: "I didn't touch her, I was planning on robbing the place if you must know."
Saph found himself staring at the man blankly, before... wait for it... one more second... "G....K... THCYAHAHAHHAA! Oh, buddy... You have on idea where you are, do you?" He stood slowly, crossing his arms defiantly as the man stepped forward. He didn't want Andrea to be too close if this came to blows, so he took a step forward as well. "You're at the place that has single handedly given the most to our kind, and you want to rob the place? There's a mansion full of really grateful mutants who will have something to say about that... If you even get past me... Spoiler: You won't."
He unfolded his arms, and clenched his crowbar in his right hand, facing the right side of his body toward him in a strange looking fighting stance.
"If you want to give it a go, though... be my guest."
Monstrosity watched the little man attempt to make some sort of stand. The smile still played on his lips as the man seemed to be laughing at him. This place did something for their kind? Where was he? Monstrosity turned his head with a confused look on his face.
"So where exactly am I? Who are you and why should I care about this place?"
James raised an eyebrow, he looked down at the smaller man. He seemed to be threatening him. He had guts. Monstrosity let out a hearty laugh and shook his head. The guy was a fighter and he liked it. The fact that he came out and was prepared to face sever bodily harm to protect the girl who James could only assume is his girlfriend.
"You're a fighter, I respect that! Is she okay?"
Monstrosity motioned towards Andrea. He wanted to know if she was alright, he just got a good 'vibe' from her.

Saph's eyes didn't leave the large mutant as he looked about with a confused expression. He really didn't know where he was? It was odd, but not uncalled for. Saph had just assumed that most mutants knew about the mansion. Why else would he be there?
"So where exactly am I? Who are you and why should I care about this place?"
"You're at the Xavier school for gifted youngsters... It's a place where mutants go when they need help... And me? I'm a f@%^in X-Man... You, on the other hand, better stay right where you are..."
He looked back to Andrea as the mutant referred to her... She seemed alright. Her snakes were still wriggling about in a confused manner, and there weren't any injuries other than a few small cuts from falling in the bush... He wanted to get her inside, but he didn't trust this guy as far as he could throw him... Wait, that was a bad term, he could probably throw this guy a good city block given enough energy. Well, most of him. As of right now, his hand and wrist were tingling from the fall from the skate, and the jump down the stairs...
He was confident it would be enough to handle this guy, even if he was able to force open one of the pit traps... Damn, that was a pretty impressive feat... Still, his mutation brought new meaning to the term 'the bigger they are, the harder they fall.'
Voices... People were talking. Why were people talking in her room?
The Greek tossed, rolling onto her side, and wrinkled her nose as she attempted to find a pillow with which to cover her ears. Where was that blasted thing? ... and who'd stolen her blankets!? With a shiver as she realized she wasn't tucked in her bed, and that the air outside was really, very cold, Andrea cracked open an eye. "Wha...?" Slowly, she started to remember that she'd already woken up in order to eat something, and then see Saph...
"You're at the Xavier school for gifted youngsters... It's a place where mutants go when they need help... And me? I'm a f@%^in X-Man... You, on the other hand, better stay right where you are..."
Speak of the devil... "Saphirus!" She sat up swiftly, one hand pressed to her forehead as if it would keep dizziness at bay. "Watch your tongue!"
The man was impossible when it came to cussing... It was like they were built into him or something! Shaking away the last bits of confusion, she got shakily to her feet to assess the situation. Whoever the other person was Saph had been talking too, he was.. uh.. sorely in need of some clothing. Her cheeks darkened once more, tinted a deep brown, and she cleared her throat.
"...I.. um.. Whatever is going on here.. could we take it inside?... It is very cold out here." She blinked at Saph from behind her glasses, making sure to keep her eyes angled away from the nearly naked man in the process. "and if I am not mistaken.. um.. Sir, you could use some clothing..."
So he was at some sort of school? For mutants? How had he not of been recommended this place? But when you look like you're going to tear them apart as soon as you lay eyes on them people don't really want to give you advice on where to go and get education. Monstrosity thought about what the man said next. He's an X-man? Like those guys on TV? The ones with the stupid outfits and the whole 'mutant rights' thing? Good luck with that.
His thoughts were interrupted by a views of the green-skinned lady move, she tossed like she was asleep she was clearly fine then. All of a sudden the girl shot up to tell her boyfriend off. She told her boyfriend off. How un-manly must he of felt. The woman spoke again about going inside and she basically offered him clothes.
"I would love to take this inside, however your boyfriend has instructed me not to move and yes. I am in the need of clothing I...outgrew my last ones."
He tried to sound polite to the young woman, who might of been older than him he wasn't quite sure. Her boyfriend could try being a little more helpful, he said this was a place that helped mutants and wasn't he a mutant? Didn't he need help? Monstrosity contemplated his options, he could turn tail and run so he didn't have to be interrogated by Mr. Security Guard over here or he could go in, get some clothes, maybe he could scrounge some food and if he's very lucky some form of accommodation. Only for the night.
