The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I guess I am..."Oh, good. He'd been starting to think that she was getting back to that train of thought that something was wrong with her. He didn't think so... In a big way, her mutation made her unique- "but, I don't know. It is hard to think of yourself as anything other than what you are currently, and I am... kind of monstrous."
"Monstrous... Not at all... there is no way I could even come close to seeing you as a... a monster..." Wow... her view of herself had gotten even worse than before. "I think you are beautiful because... well, I just do. I like the cute little things you do... I like your smile, your skin, your eyes... The things that you think make you... monstrous, are the things that are most unique about you. Heck, I'm sure I could even get used to Sloth and the crew..." He smiled for a moment, and then paused.
"What put that idea in your head? Monstrous is quite a word..."
"Yes I really think so, and wow, that went well!" He grinned a little, taking in her adorable pout, and winking in response. It was too adorable, in fact. He was determined to plant a peck on her lips right then and there, but he felt something flying through the air behind him.
He'd been too relaxed to do anything about it, really, he hardly noticed the round shape flying toward him until it was a few feet away, and it wasn't enough force for his reflex to consider it a threat. He winced just a little, however, when the ball smacked into his head, and dropped to the floor.
He turned and looked at the kids, who asked for their ball back. A slightly grumpy look turned into a smile; he would have to teach her how to throw.
She asked another big question, and he nodded. "Yeah... I kinda feel like being a father is something I could do... well. Y'kn- I mean... yeah."
He looked at her for a moment, assessing her. "Do you think you are pretty?"
He honestly wasn't too sure about the whole 'we kept you locked up on the property for your own safety' concept... Then again, he wasn't sure what Greece was like... He remembered something about a debt crisis on the news recently, but everyone was hurting, right?
Maybe they were ashamed of her, or maybe they really did want to keep her safe, but there was no real point thinking about it now... he was really low on questions, and she was sitting high at... more than him.
He nodded as she listed the names of her larger snakes... he didn't recognize all of them exactly, but he had an idea that they were just different names for the seven sins. He already knew avarice, lust and sloth, and he'd heard hubris as well, now that he thought of it.
"I really have been asking a lot of questions... Maybe I should stick to just saying things for a bit... I've got a good one... You're very beautiful."
"I love children... They are pure, innocent, and adorable..." The smile slowly returned to his face as the statement pulled him from his focus on the kids. "Me too..." She wasn't done yet, though. She leaned into him, and as if it were normal, she recalled her childhood... He knew that she had been shut in a lot, but he didn't know just how bad it had been.
"Back home, there were always plenty of kids out in the streets, running around haphazardly... If I had been allowed outside, I would have probably played with them..."
"So... You said if you had been allowed outside... like you didn't have a choice. How often did they let you leave your house?" He didn't like the answer he was almost sure he was going to get, and depending on the answer, he was almost certain he wouldn't be a fan of her parents after this answer...
She went on about her feelings about him, and he allowed himself to get lost in their precious few memories together... They didn't have a whole lot, but what they did have was... beautiful. He would have liked to think her view of the kind of person he was was accurate, but even if it wasn't, he would do his damnest to make himself as close to it as possible... He wanted to be the kind of person she wanted him to be.
"..I was so afraid that I would hurt you, or someone else, Sloth and the rest appeared, that I panicked. I could not bear the thought of putting you in danger. I am still... very much uncertain..."
"The only time you ever hurt me was when you left..." It wasn't an accusation as much as an honest confession... "So you named him sloth, huh? I was pretty rough with him that first night... I hope he doesn't hold a grudge." He eyed the tired snake... It didn't seem angry. Heck, it seemed like it had earned its name pretty well.

He gave her that look when she taxed him on the two part question. Argh, he would have to be more careful. Still, it was the thrill of the game, and the slight battle of minds that made it more interesting. The playful air slipped away, however, when she squeezed his hand back, and then left go of it, recalling the terrifying things that had happened to her as she withdrew into her self.
He couldn't help it, as she pulled away, he moved in to wrap his arms around her, ignoring the weak, newborn snakes strewn about her scalp. There was no way he could leave her alone; even through her glasses he could see that look in her eyes... He knew it well; he'd seen it in the mirror, and on so many faces before. What she'd witnessed had been horrible.
"...Have you ever seen someone die?... Right before you, while you were trying to help them as best you could... and then, nothing. No light at all in his eyes... and so much blood...." His eyes went from a show of concern to an understanding frown...
"Yes... Yes I have. It happens a lot when you're like me... an X-man... Or someone who lived with nothing for the longest time... Sometimes the world takes people from you even if you try your hardest to defend them... That's why I was so worried about you... I couldn't bear for you to be someone I failed to save, because if I can't save the people I love... I don't deserve to call myself a hero..." He sat in silence for a moment, and his eyes wandered to the kids and their little game.
"So... do you like kids?" It was a more light hearted question... He felt like they needed one.
"...So... how exactly did I end up in your... um.. bed?"
Yeesh, she wasn't messing around was she? What was his story, there? Oh yeah.
"I... I was desperate, When I saw the scene at the church, I knew you were in danger. So I went online and called for help... And someone answered. They didn't tell me who they were... only that you would be here soon. The next thing I know, some kid in a mask dropped you off." He was, of course, lying out of his ass, but he was a decent liar, and she had no reason not to believe him... Still, he had to change the subject before she started asking more, and he knew exactly what he wanted to ask about.
"So... What happened at the church? Did someone attack you?"
He squeezed her hand gently, and tried his best to be reassuring; he wanted her to know that he was safe to talk to.
It's always great when you find a character that is dynamic and well rounded, and Allison is just that. See how she faces danger head on while in a situation that would make most girls cry for their mommies, and instead she, and Megan make the bad men cry even louder in Wrong Place, Interesting Time!
Still, while she shows she can be a complete BA, she still has her softer, more adorable side, as shown in A push in the right direction! In this thread, Venus decides that he is going to plan a romantic outing for Aura and Allison! Adorable-ness ensues!
Finally, digging back a bit, my first thread with Allison, where she shows off her snarky personality, and refuses to budge for an unreasonably angry Roach, who proceeds to initiate a full on battle royal in her book store! I give you, What's Bugging You?
Given the uniqueness of her character, and the entertaining threads she gives us, I think she's a great candidate for Mutant of the Month! Enjoy the reading!

"Do you get to ask me twenty questions too?" His smile widened, and he squeezed her hand just a little as he watched the realization dawn on her face.
"Oh, no! That didn't count as a question did i- Oh!"
"Eighteen left, and yeah, I get 20 too; these things work both ways y'know."
He watched the adorable act of her hiding her face, basked in the adorable way she chose her words, and fell flat on his face(metaphorically) when her next question was a real doozie.
"Uhm... be-before I came to the mansion... Well... That depends on what you mean... It depends on what you want to know about me before I came here." He was dodging the question... he knew he really shouldn't... after a paused he sighed. "I really wasn't much of a great guy before I came here... Like a lot of people, I guess I came to the mansion to turn over a new leaf."
He paused. "That work?"
His eyes slowly widened. "Wait, I didn't mean for that to be a question... Eh... dangit."

Things were going pretty well. He could hardly stand, but yeah, pretty well. He discovered just how hard it was to get up when he tried. He didn't even make it half way by the time he heard this precious little tidbit:
“Strangle him, he is using our force against us. Nice and slow, squash the air out of his body"
Well, he'd had a good run...He was pretty sure he'd decked those guys harder than they'd ever imagined he could, and he could be proud of that. In the end he decided against getting up; no real point... he was doomed, he was best off just giving up.
Wait... No! He was the Judge! Justice could never die! He had to fight them to his last breath! How, though? He couldn't even stand... He could throw something at them or something... What could he throw, though?
Apparently, a car... He didn't remember throwing it, but he had to say he was impressed with the results. Damn was he good or what? His vision blurred a little, and he saw a big red blob before him; he swung to punch it, his fist found only air, and he was lifted into the sky, almost immediately. he tried to struggled, heard a muffled voice, found he was tossed into something, and then... well, there was shaking, more fuzziness, and then darkness.
Apparently there was no reason to retract his hand in the first place, because to his surprise she diffused the awkwardness of the situation with incredible ease by slowly scooting closer, and grabbing his hand softly in her own... Yup, now things weren't awkward, at least for him, but they were still silent.
He couldn't help but smile as she spoke. "Yeah... Yeah I did." It wasn't as if he needed to say more. He'd already explained how he felt about her.
His innocent smile turned to a sly one as he continued. "19 left... You get 20 questions. No more, no less. Ask away."
She wasn't a great kisser, but that kinda thing came with experience, and he really didn't mind... besides, it appeared she was a quick learner, as after a while she found his rhythm, and it became rather... well... musical almost, for lack of a better word.
It was near impossible to describe how the simple actions of holding her close, pressing his lips to hers, and just laying there made him feel; suffice to say it was nice. It made him feel warm inside.
Before too long she got into it, almost overtaking him in eagerness; his arms grasped her and held her firmly as they locked lips with reckless abandon.
And then it was ruined.
"EWWWWW!" Like a chorus of woe, a choir of torture, the kids chimed in on their objection to their public displays of affection. He took it graciously, sitting up quickly, and watching her politely retreat.
"It's okay... I mean, getting carried away ain't so bad sometimes...but yeah..." His eyes wandered over to the two kids, who were already retreating. Damn... Damn damn damn! He'd chosen this place because people didn't come here often, but as the two kids were joined, and a nice little game of kick ball was started just shy of uncomfortably close to them, he sighed... Oh well, no reason to let it ruin their picnic. He absentmindedly reached for something, and found his hand touching a glove, placed on the dainty hand that had reached for, by chance, the exact same thing as he. His hand quickly retracted, and he coughed a little, and started making a sandwich. "So... eh... anything you wanna talk about?"
"..A k-kiss?" Uh oh... this wasn't gonna end well.
You messed up, Saphy... you went and got greedy, and now she's gonna call your bluff... might as well pack up and leave before you get yourself yelled at-Holycrapshewasmovingin!
He watched as her soft green skin, her blushing cheeks, and sunglass covered eyes moved closer, and then she fell into him, and their lips met like two trucks colliding. Did he kiss her back? You bet he kissed her back? Did he let them fall? Yer darn tootin he let them fall, and then he kept kissing her, not really caring for being neat about it.
This was a genuine moment of passion, he wasn't about to let nerves trample all over it. After all, you only lived once, right?
He would kiss her until she didn't want to kiss anymore, questions and picnic be damned.
He had taken down high level mob bosses, drug rings, and even fought Cthulhu himself... but he'd never been on a picnic before, and he'd sure as heck never set one up... He started by laying down the blanket as neatly as he could, and then he set down the picnic basket, and stared at it for a moment...
Did you take the crap out of the basket? He tried to think back to the old cartoons... all of the stuff was usually laid out. He nodded to himself, and went about setting things out.
The pantry had been a little low, as it was the day before they normally filled it. Also, he wasn't sure on what classified as picnic food... So... well...
He laid out four lunchables, a half a loaf of bread, ketchup, mustard, ham, cheese, oreos, olives, a couple sodas and a half of a pie he'd found. He stared at the assortment nervously for a second, and scratched the back of his head while he looked up at the patiently waiting Andrea, wondering if she was going to critique the menu.
"...I have never had a picnic before, So I'm afraid I don't know the proper etiquette for such a thing..." Oh sweet, she was just as lost as he was. He could totally make up anything, and say that it was what normally happened during a picnic.
His face turned red at what that thought implied. "Er... Um... Well... It normally starts with a kiss." God, did he really just say that? Picnics definitely didn't start with kisses! He was a liar! But... Maybe he would be a kissing liar, and that sounded fine to him.
"And... you know, we can talk about what ever you want to talk about if thats okay with you, and I would understand if you didn't want to talk about some things, but it's really important to talk, cause... talking... is... important." Yup, perfect time for nervous chatter.
Side note: He most definitely had no clue the location was romantic.
Holy crap, was one of them really throwing around quotes? He reached over and pinched himself to be sure he wasn't having some form of goofy %#s nightmare. Nope. Ow, though. Next thing he knew one of them would start reciting poetry while trying to tear his spine out.
"If that holds true, this could be your last fight too... Judging from your buddy inside, I like my odds." That was a bluff. He didn't like his odds. He could feel them as they moved around him, every little step; it was like these freaks had muscle made from spun steel. They hit way harder than any mutant he had ever encountered, and that was saying a lot, because he'd been around.
We started to wish he hadn't decided against using guns... At least then he would have something to preoccupy these guys with while he gained energy. Instead, all he could do was wait until they made their move.
They made their move.
He felt one moving in from behind as the other charged at him head on... Great, two in one go... This was a perfect chance to test his theory... God help him if it didn't work, because he was pretty sure it was his only way out of this jam. They struck almost in unison, with the one in front throwing a vicious one two combo, which he ducked and weaved very carefully, almost getting clipped by one of the fists as it rocketed in... And then he felt the kick coming at his spine... This was it!
He took a deep breath, and pushed his left hand out to make contact with the one in front of him's chest. With careful timing, he jumped just enough to lift his feet from the ground, and twist so that the kick only hit him in the right side.
If it worked, he would feel the force of the kick tear through him, get amplified, and smack into the red guy in front of him with incredible power... He would then twist, and send a punch with all of the force the clones had used pushing him out of the building, right into the groin of the one who had kicked him.
He would then collapse, and struggle to stand, as having that much force channel through you was insanely tough on the body.
As he charged/hobbled into battle, his right side faced toward his opponents, his arm covering his eyes, bullets rushed in, smacking into his skin, and digging in just a bit before losing all of their force. The men were at a loss as their clips began to run down to empty, and the super hero still moved ever forward.
By the time each of them was at their last bullet, Saph'd had enough. They fired in unison, and he triggered a certain useful reflex, which froze the bullets in mid flight just inches from him... From there he smacked his left hand across them, and sent a scattershot of bullets at his foes. One fell dead instantly, another stumbled to the side, clutching his arm.
The masochist barely found a nook to hide behind as the two remaining men started shooting again.
They gotten wise; making sure to alternate reloading times and keep him pinned... All they had to do now was close in and take him out... damn, this had been a bad idea. Still, out of the corner of his eyes he watched the hostages slip away... that was good. He was pretty sure the nerdy kid would go with them. What would stop him from saving himself? It wasn't like he really had an obligation to save a super hero; he wouldn't even blame him of he-
“Yo! Buttfaces!! HAAAAAAAMMMMM!!!!”
The kid was back, and he started off his return by making a word, and flinging it at the lead heistman. He stumbled over, and Akshay ducked behind a table just in time for the the bullets to fly his way... Now was his chance!
The Masochist stepped from his crumbling cover, and picked a bullet from his skin, flinging it at the one undeterred guman, who fell back with a grunt. He pulled another, and the world all of a sudden started spinning around him... Uh oh... He had to take that last guy out...
His final shot was a hail mary... He used his sixth sense and threw it at where he guessed the ring leader was before collapsing to the ground in a heap.
