The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He was making it sound a little worse than what it exactly was, but that was Ignacio Ramírez for you. "To each their own. Just remember the most beautiful people in the world are in Colombiaaa." He sang happily. He was proud of his roots, dammit! It made him feel special and proud to be half Colombian.
"Friends? Aww!" Alice called him her friend! That made Iggy feel amazing about himself. Iggy could see himself being good friends with Alice in Gamerland.
"Sure! I could go for some Lucifer 3 right now." Especially with the new playable class that was available. As if one cue, the teacher walked back inside and classroom, apologizing for her absence. Without skipping a beat, the English teacher went back to reviewing the vocabulary words that they would be quizzed on next week.
Ignacio continued to play with the light that was around him before letting it disappear into the cold sky. Because Ignacio's body temperature was higher than normal, he almost looked like steam was raising from his body.
"What are we going to do now?" Ignacio asked, curiously.
"It's so cool!" No pun intended. Okay, maybe the pun was intended, but it was also true. Ignacio turned around to look at Aiden when he noticed that the X-Men Trainee was turning into snow. Or something like that. Was that normal for him? Iggy had no idea. However, Aiden did explain to him what his mutation was so he had no need to worry.
Ignacio's kaleidoscope eyes started to flood with a bright orange as he started to put his hands together. Just a few inches above his palms, a multicolored balls of light started to appear. Those balls turned into streams that made their way around his body. Orange, yellows, green, pink, and red swirled around Iggy in a magnificent display of light.
>> "You should probably talk to Juliette at some point. Firefly. Not the same as you, but still. Light has more in common with light than with snow."
Ignacio gasped dramatically when Aiden brought up Jules. "I know her! We met about two weeks ago! She's really nice!" He liked Juliette a lot. She was so much like him when it came to their mutations. Though, Juliette was more skilled than Ignacio, he still felt relatively similar to her. "She's the one that suggested becoming an X-Men Trainee!"
Now in the God Room, Ignacio looked down at the vast whiteness of the room. He heard stories of how realistic everything was when activated. He turned his attention to Aiden as he began to speak.
"If you can tolerate cold without a problem, then, I'm going to cool it off in here a bit more. Let me know if it's too much."
"Está bien, I should be fine, though." Ignacio watched as the the Danger Room changed into an arctic paradise on a sunshiny day. This was totally what Ignacio had in mind when he brought up the idea of going to the Danger Room.
"Do you want to go down?"
Aiden didn't have to tell him twice. Iggy was so happy that he took a hand of Aiden's cold wrist and dragged him out of the God room, down the stairs, and into the Danger Room. Once they get there, he let go of poor, antisocial Aiden and raised his hands to the almost-Sun.
Ignacio gasped dramatically when Martha rolled out of her hospital bed weakly headed for the girl's restroom. Maybe she got sick? Either that or she was planning an escape.
"Nurse! Nurse! I think we have a runner!" Ignacio knew better than to go into the women's restroom and instead waited outside the door, "Martha are you okay?! I don't identify as a female so I can't go in!"
>> "Some days I can't go outside at all without risking heat stroke. Then again, I don't feel cold at all."
Ignacio knew exactly how Aiden felt. "I hear you, mi amigo de nieve, I cannot stay inside too long or I start to get really, really sick." Luckily for Ignacio, the worse he's felt was walking up every morning with a slight headache. After a five minutes of being in direct sunlight, he was good as new. He had no intention to see what would happen if he stayed forty-eight hours indoors with no windows. The thought along made him shiver.
>> "Is it just the light, then, or is heat part as well?"
That was a good question that Iggy didn't have the answer to, "light. Solar thermal energy, but light." He didn't understood fully of how his powers worked. All he knew was that being under the Sun made him more powerful than the average human. That, and him shifting into his "Tollan form".
>> "Does cold affect you? More than anyone who does have any powers involved, at least?"
"Hm," another thing that Iggy hadn't thought about. Man, Aiden was asking questions that he was sure that the X-Men Team Leaders would ask before he could be a X-Men Trainee, "it doesn't really affect me. My body temperature is higher than most. I've been that way since birth." Which is why is mother named him Ignacio, meaning "fire".
The walk to the danger room was pleasant to say the least. Iggy's mutated eyes looked around the rooms that passed, already knowing the set up of the Mansion. Streams of light that came through the window shone down on Ignacio'a skin. That made him feel even better.
>> "I generate snow when I move, and can break into snow myself. It's a lot more of a headache than it sounds."
"You do? That's interesting! No wonder you were sitting in the room with the curtains pulled. You must hate Summer, huh?" Ignacio liked learning about other mutant powers.
"Me? Oh, I'm basically an Aztec Sun god. I feed off of the Sun's solar radiation." He answered with a cute shrug. "It comes in handy when I do my seven mile jogs in the afternoon."
>> "If it's open. I don't usually supervise it but I can. But no, I'm not running any of the major programs or turning off the protective functions, even if you can prove you can heal better than me."
So was that a yes? Ignacio took that as a yes. The teenager got up from the couch and quickly followed after Aiden. He was more than happy to be able to enter the Danger Room. Had this been a couple of weeks ago, Ignacio would've been totally apprehensive about using his powers. Now? Now he was more than happy to show off a little bit of Aiden.
"Thank you for doing this," Iggy paused, "does your powers deal with ice or snow?"
"That sounds so cool!" Iggy couldn't wait to get his uniform. He wondered what his uniform would look like. Maybe with short sleeves or a kilt or something. That would be cool. Er, hot. Either way, Ignacio was interested in getting a suit.
"Aw, yours are cute, though!" Iggy paused, "Hey, since you're an X-Men Trainee, can I go into the Danger Room? I want to try it out." Hopefully, Aiden would agree to it.
"Oh, so you're not a supervillain or anything like that?" Well, that was a relief. At least he didn't have to worry about her trying to kill him. He was neither a human or a mutant supremacist. He felt that much more comfortable around her. Well, at least he could say that he's met a serial killer.
Iggy placed a hand on his hip and shifted his weight to one side, "s-so you're not gonna kill me or anything like that?" He asked with raised eyebrow. "I'm harmless! For the most part."
Iggy nodded his head, "y-yeah! I can walk!" The teenager took a couple of steps forward cautiously before he found that he was okay enough to walk forward. After the first couple of feet, Ignacio found himself more comfortable. He was happy that Professor Shinbo was able to help with his little melt down. He still felt embarrassed with the scene he caused in front of his friends. Though, he was relieved when they gave him words of encouragement.
Once they made it to the groundskeeper's shed, Ignacio nervously ushered himself inside. It was a pretty good size so at least Iggy didn't feel claustrophobic. "I-I got it," he took hold of the door and closed it behind him. The shed was lit by the flares that surfaced around Iggy's Tollan form. He closed his eyes and concentrated on turning it off.
"Come on, come on..." Thankfully for Iggy, he could feel himself slowly change back into his "normal" self. This in itself was a relief. After a few more seconds, Ignacio's Tollan form was completely gone, he slowly walked out of the shed. The only thing that remained mutated was his kaleidoscope irises. God, he was so embarrassed. The hug he received from two of his friends made him feel a lot better.
"Thank you, chicas," Ignacio whispered before pulling away and looking at the Professor. "I'm sorry for wasting your time, Professor Shinbo."
"Oh?" That only interested Iggy more, "Well, that's definitely different from Latin America. We're all about being up in your face. If you were to go there, I feel like you would feel overwhelmed," Ignacio chuckled at the thought. Aw, Alice cringing and not knowing what to do with the hugs and kisses. That would be a cute picture. Or watching her fawn over the beautiful Latinas down there. That would be funny, too.
"I could make money from just doing something that I enjoy? In America?" Ignacio had to think about that for a second before smiling widely, "I would love to do that! I sometimes do fan fiction art, too. I know that goes high on Stumblr." Iggy liked Stumblr a lot. It had a lot of neat boards and forums.
Iggy nodded his head quickly, "sure! I'd love for you to do that! Thank you so much, Alice!" She was turning out to be a really, really good friend to the teenage Sun god. He'll have to keep her around.
The more Aiden started to explain how dangerous being an X-Men Trainee was, the more interested he became with becoming one. This would be a perfect opportunity for him to let loose some of his pent up self-loathing and channeling it into something useful -- like Juliette suggested. With a grin, Ignacio responded to Aiden, "that sounds like loads of fun," he smirked a bit. Of course, now he would be fully interested in being an X-Men Trainee.
"Do you get any cool suits with being a Trainee?" Ignacio asked. He wanted to lean in so badly but decided that it would be best if he kept his distance. Aiden seemed like the type of person that liked having his personal space.
Ignacio had in fact not stop staring at Aiden, "I have cute eyes, too. I think they're referred to as 'kaleidoscope', but I'm not sure. There was a lot about Ignacio that he didn't know about himself. Hopefully, with being an X-Men Trainee, he'll be able to discover things about himself that he hadn't known before.
Iggy raised an eyebrow. So he didn't like the heat? That was understandable, maybe Aiden was someone who grew up in the north. Ignacio will probably ask him later. "Training mission? You mean as an X-Men Trainee?" Juliette had talked to him about that last week and ever since the Colombian has been looking into it more and more. "I think I want to be a trainee! Tell me how it is!" Iggy bounced up and down in his seat happily.
Though, he quickly calmed down so that he didn't scare the guy away, "lo siento. I like your eyes by the way."
>> ”So you feel like you need to be hurt and to get into fights,”
Ignacio nodded his head with shame. God, she probably thought that he was crazy or something like that. Heck, he wouldn't be surprised if Juliette tried to have him committed. Without looking up, Ignacio stole a piece of chocolate from the bowl on his lap and ate it.
>> ”I’m not saying that that’s a good thing, or something that should be encouraged, but have you considered… becoming an X-Men Trainee? I mean, it might give you a way to work out some of those feelings in a healthy way.”
"...X-Men Trainee?" The thought had crossed the teenage mutant's mind but he never really considered it. Ignacio slowly looked up at Juliette as he placed the glass bowl of chocolate on top of the desk and thought. He could be an X-Men Trainee, right? I mean, he was skilled and could be a good asset to the X-Team. "...Okay, okay. I'll...look into it." Ignacio stood up from the chair and gave Juliette a sincere smile. "Who would I talk to about that?"
