Ignacio stared out the window of the English classroom he was currently in. He didn't like being inside for long periods of time especially when the Sun was out and shining. With a sigh, he turned his attention back to the list of vocabulary words that he was given to study over for their next quiz.  

It was 1:40  in the afternoon which meant that they still had twenty minutes left of class. The teacher had stepped out to check on something leaving the class to themselves.

Most of the words on the ten item lists were words that he knew. The other ones he would simply have to study. Running his thin fingers through his slicked back brown hair, Ignacio glanced to the left and right of him. "Aye, Mamí, you are the HUD chica, yes? Are you good with English vocabulary words?" He asked in a quiet voice making his accent thicker.  His  kaleidoscope  eyes scanned over ever blue hair before falling on the side of her face. 

English class had always seemed a little pointless to Alice, not only was she a native speaker, she was freaking English. Of course she could speak the b----- language. That and the difficulty was lower than she was used to thanks their being a few people who were still learning, which was fine but she could speak it fine. Just a bit of a waste of her time.

Looking up from the vocab sheet at the voice, she was a bit peeved at being called 'the HUD chica'. "Yes I'm the gamer as you said so eloquently, but consider your question then take in the accent." There was no mistaking she was from the Isles, not with her posher than normal accent. "So yes I know English pretty well." She laid on the sarcasm in true British style.

Giving him a once over, she guessed he was cute, if you were into that thing. The slicked back hair looked pretty old fashioned to her though, like he thought he was a greaser from an old musical. "Why, you wanting help or something?" She might sass people, but she wasn't one to discourage learning. It was kind of important after all and frankly she was a bit a of nerd anyway. "It's not too hard I can probably help you pretty quick."

"Great!" Ignacio flashed an abnormally bright smile at her, "gracias, English girl!" He scooted his chair closer to his classmate and did a cute little wiggle. He was wearing a pastel orange polo shirt that was neatly tucked into his white shorts.

"The only two I am having problems with his figuring out the difference between 'heinous' and 'invidious'. No sé. They both mean the same thing, no?"Though Ignacio had been living in America for nine years, he still liked using his Spanish whenever he could. It also made him feel closer to his roots and more importantly, his family.

He turned to look at the girl and placed his hand on his chest, "oh, by the way, I'm Ignacio Angel Santos Ramírez, but you can call me Ignacio, Iggy, or Angel."

Glancing at him, he was certainly eager, it made her a little suspicious to be honest. Was he just asking her because he thought she was cute? Probably, but that wasn't the worst reason to talk to someone. Hell she'd done the same herself.

Raising an eyebrow, who the hell called their kid Angel? "I'll stick with Iggy, Angel seems like to much of an ego booster. I'm Alice by the way." At least he didn't act like a creep. Yet. And they must have looked pretty strange from the outside, her nerd-punk look didn't exactly go with his summer fun one. "But if you make any wonderland jokes I sweat to God I will punch you."

"Anyway, for the problem, they are a little different. Heinous is a person or act that's particularly wrong or evil. Like stealing from a child's' hospital or really brutal murder. So a heinous crime in that instance. Invidious, when it's about an an action or situation it's one that would probably cause anger and stuff. Say if a person's goading someone into a fight." She was pretty sure that was the answer, but she'd check the dictionary before handing anything in,

"If that helps at all. Honestly I'm only half paying attention in this class, it's not exactly a hard one for me."

"Alice? That is a pretty name. Aliceee," He practice saying her name. It was interesting to say it. He never knew an Alice before so this was certainly interesting, "like Wo-- never mind." Ignacio snickered and playfully nudged her with his shoulder. "No fun, huh? I understand. Trust me." He himself had been the butt of jokes, but they weren't based on his name rather the way he acted.

Ignacio listened Alice explain to him the difference between the two words. Honestly, they both meant the same to him. "So,"[/u] the teenage mutant started, "heinous is like someone wearing polkadots and strips and invidious is someone being jealous of my name brand clothes?" Ignacio blinked a couple of times before smiling and laughing. "I kid, I kid! I understand, Alice." He looked down at his worksheet and jotted down the explanations, but in Spanish.

After this, he looked over at Alice again, "so, you are Britian? How is it there?" Iggy had planned to backpack across Europe after he graduated from high school. Ignacio needed all the information he could get.

As soon as he started the joke her hand went up slowly and a no nonsense look was on her face. Alice had to deal with those jokes for so many year, she just had no tolerance for them anymore. "If you got called the jokes every day for fourteen years, you'd get sick of it too."

An eyebrow quirked up at Iggy's words. He was weird, she was an expert on weird and this guy of out weirding her scale. How could someone be so.....happy. At least he wasn't an idiot, in fact he got the idea pretty quick and was writing in Spanish? "Got to ask why your notes are in Spanish. I get trying to understand is important but isn't the point of this class to, well get better are reading and writing in English?"

"Not bad I guess, although the weathers pretty s--- most of the year. If you're wanting culture there's plenty in London, but if you want to go on a holiday there only spend like two days in the capital. Its a bit of a s---hole." There were nicer cites in her eyes, Edinburgh was nice and York was amazing. "Honestly I'd recommend the mainland more. Paris, Rome and Venice are astounding." Britain was kind of just..there when it came to Europe. There were just places to go.

"What about you, where're you from?"

Ignacio stared at Alice's fist, then her face. He wanted her to punch him. He deserved it after all for what he's done to his parents. Though, he didn't want to get his fellow classmate in trouble and decided not to get on her bad side by finishing the joke. "...I'm sorry about the jokes, it must get tiring." Ignacio gulped and slowly reached out and held her first before lowering it down. "There we go."

"...Yes, but I also it helps me understand it better if I write it in Spanish," and he felt closer to home when he did it, "put you're right, I should write in ingles." He chuckled and rewrote the note in English. "There! Problem solved, Alice."

"Mmm...The east just seems nice. Rome is definitely somewhere that I want to go. There and Spain." Ignacio sniffed and started to doodle on edge of his paper. Ignacio had been to other countries including Mexcio, Argentina, Costa Rica, Canada and of course the US.

"I'm from Colombia. What city in Britianna are you from?"

Well, at the least the sunny stranger wasn't a total ass, just a little bit friendly. She half expected him to start literally glowing from how sunny his disposition was but anything was better than a creep so....yay? "You're a bit enthusiastic for just an English class, is it really that interesting to you?"

Smiling a little at that, she should have guessed he'd want to see Spain, it was nice enough but way too warm for her. The north was where it was at for her. "Mhmm, good places to go, I've always wanted to try Norway but the year we were meant to go my mum's work took off and we never got the time."

"I'm from near London, grew up maybe half an hour away from it so i got to spend plenty of time there. If you get a chance to, try and catch a play on the west end. They are brilliant." Her grandmother had dragged her to enough of them as a kid that she got a fair appreciation for some of them, even if others could be soooo boring.

"What's home like for you, back in Columbia I mean?"

"Of course!" He paused, "no, not really," Ignacio shook his head, "I'm just a happy person most of the time," That was true when he was self hating himself and starting fights on purpose. Though, that was between him and the four walls of his bedroom.

"Norway? That's such an interesting country. Home of blue eyes and blond hair, right?" Or was the Sweden. No, Finland. Either one of those Scandinavian countries. He couldn't imagine going there. It was way too cold and not enough sun for Ignacio. If he ever were to visit those countries, he would have to prepare by standing out in the Sun for a week straight!

"It's good! a beautiful city with lots of colors. I can't to go back!"

Oh yes it was, home to so many beautiful ladies with long legs and bright eyes. That had nothing to do with her desire to go now. At all. "Yep, plenty of good looking people there but more importantly, more than enough snow to have a good time in the winter."

"That's cool, but if my lack of anything resembling colour I'm not an outdoor person. I'd probably melt if I went that far south." spending most of her time indoors and already being fair skinned, she burnt pretty easy, didn't tan and generally sucked at high temperatures. "Winter's where it's at for me, although I have to admit, bikini weather does have advantages."

She hadn't seen the guy around, but since she was pretty new it could be she was just not remembering him. "You been here long then? I have a feeling I'd remember someone as......sunny as you."

Ignacio shivered, "ugh, invierno. It comes too quickly here and stays so long. And the Sun is hardly out, too."The Sun was very important to Ignacio for several obvilious reasons. He fed off of the solar thermal energy that it radiates. Ignacio wouldn't be going too far north anytime in the near future.

From what he heard, if Alice and him ever went on vacation, they would fight and fuss about going somewhere else that was either cooler and warmer. "You are right about one thing: bikini weather does have it's obvious perks." Whether it was girls in a two piece or guys shirtless, it was a win for him.

"Yep! I've been here for three years so far," Ignacio answered with a smile, "and I'm a very sunny person. Literally." He chuckled a bit at himself. "And you?"

Yes, yes it did. Being able to openly ogle women in swimsuits was always a bonus, especially when most of them just assumed you were checking out their outfit. Well that or they were also of the persuasion and got a kick out of being eyed up by a pretty blue haired wonder. Best of both worlds.

"Erm, I've been in the states for maybe two weeks now, at the school for maybe half that." She hadn't exactly 'moved' here. Really. Thank god the school sorted all the immigration stuff and legal issues around her getting here. That and her mum and been less than impressed by her grandmothers behavior while she was working and was pretty supportive of her living here. Also meant they'd be able to see each other more often, which was awesome.

Something about how he said literally made her think he wasn't joking. "What's your power by the way, if you don't mind me asking. Must be impressive for you to compare yourself to the sun."

"Ah, so you're really new here, then." Ignacio nodded his head slowly. "That's...good, right?" He didn't know if she came to the States because he had no other family and the Mansion offered a safe space for or not. So instead of being nosy, he decided not to dig any deeper.

When Alice asked about his powers, Ignacio sat up a little straighter in his seat. "I can absorb solar energy," he answered with a grin, "and do cool solar flare tricks." The latter was much more fun to do than him going into his Tollan form.

"Both come in handy."

Well, his sounded way more awesome than hers was. It was just kind of there and a part from the minimap it was all pretty useless. The constant hunger was not fun either. In fact, it was about time for another snack. Pulling out an energy and going to town, it was soon polished off.

"What kind of tricks can you do? Like fire beams or cause flash bangs in your hand?" Using sunlight was pretty versatile. There were all sorts of cool moves you could use in a fight.

"Oh and does the absorbed energy count towards your food or is it just going into the power? Would be so cool not needing to eat." Every thirty minutes of your life, from the moment you woke up. Yeah, it was true she basically couldn't get fat if she didn't overfill her bar but still, the amount she would have to spend on food if she lived on her own was ridiculous.

"Just, ah, solar thermal light. Nothing special," Ignacio looked at Alice with a shrug, "It's more of a...-- you know how some characters on video games can do power bluffs? That's what the solar flares are." What? He liked playing games, too. He may go outside and play soccer or go swimming, but he also liked having a controller in his hand.

Alice was really curious about his powers. Ignacio found that extremely flattering. "I haven't really thought about it, Britannia. Perhaps it does? All I know is that my cells act like mini solar panels." There was a science behind his powers, he just forgot the details.

"...How does your HUD power work?" He asked with a tilt of his head.
