The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

When Martha shouted, Ignacio flinched some. It didn't know how to respond to that other than to stare at her with his beautiful wide eyes. The young sun god chewed on his bottom lip before nodding his head.
"Yep!" Ignacio walked passed her and up the stairs. When he made it to the second floor, he led her to the empty rooms and opened the door. "You can stay here."
Ignacio was having one of those moments where his powers wanted to act up. He had gone into his Tollan form minutes earlier to be a bit of a show off for the group of friends he was in and things had gone wrong.
His day started out as normally as it usually did for Ignacio: A three mile run at sunrise, breakfast at the Mansion, playing soccer on the lawn with a couple of his friends, and playing a couple of hours of video games in the game room. However, instead of playing soccer, his friends and himself decided to mess around with their powers.
"Iggy, should we get someone?" One of his friends asked.
"What? No! I got it under control!" The teenage sun god lied. He opened his hands and a sudden burst of colorful light spewed out causing Iggy to hold his hands back together. The group of friends that had gathered around took a step back.
"I'm getting a teacher," one said before taking off toward the pool where she knew Professor Shinbo was, "before it gets out of hand!"
His burning orange eyes and now black -- literally black skin -- kept on absorbing the solar energy that was being fed to him. If he couldn't get himself back to normal, then this was going to be bad.
The colorful flames that arose from his body only got taller and more bright. Orange, light green, yellow, and red light whipped around him as he fell to his knees.
"It's the Mansion! The sister school to Xavier's Institute. It's for mutants to learn how to control their powers and the such," Ignacio noticed that something was up with Martha, but didn't know if he should ask what was wrong with her. Then Martha told her. It was the size of the mansion that made her uneasy.
"Aw, don't go, por favor. It'll be okay, I promise." Iggy took a small step toward her. "Do you just want me to bring you food to your car? I can do that, too! I problem at all."
Once they both were inside, Ignacio turned to look at Martha. He could tell that she was overwhelmed with everything. He was the same way when he first arrived three years ago.
"I know it's a lot, but if you don't like it, you can leave tomorrow. There's another place, Sanctuary that's for homeless mutants, too so you have options." Ignacio explained with a bright smile. He made his way toward the kitchen. "I can sneak you some food so that you don't have to be swarmed by a bunch of chicos."
Ignacio sniffed and handed her a plate, "there ya go."
The ride there was pretty chill for Ignacio. Nothing major happened on the way there. Once they pulled up in front of the Mansion, Iggy hopped out of the car.
"Are you ready? You'll like it here, I promise." Ignacio started walking across the lawn and toward the doors. The Sun had finally set and soon Iggy's self loathing was sure to follow.
"Just, ah, solar thermal light. Nothing special," Ignacio looked at Alice with a shrug, "It's more of a...-- you know how some characters on video games can do power bluffs? That's what the solar flares are." What? He liked playing games, too. He may go outside and play soccer or go swimming, but he also liked having a controller in his hand.
Alice was really curious about his powers. Ignacio found that extremely flattering. "I haven't really thought about it, Britannia. Perhaps it does? All I know is that my cells act like mini solar panels." There was a science behind his powers, he just forgot the details.
"...How does your HUD power work?" He asked with a tilt of his head.
"¡Muy bien!" Ignacio clapped a few times, "at least get one night's rest in a comfortable bed." The sun had almost finished setting and Iggy had to get back to the Mansion. He didn't know if they were going to have burger's tonight, but the food was always good. He hopped in the car after her and buckled up.
"You'll have to turn around." Iggy instructed with a smile. He pulled out his phone to check his emails. There were a couple of concerning potential commercials, but he closed down shop on that. Though, one more wouldn't be so bad. Plus, his savings account was looking a little dry.
"What, this?" Ignacio picked up a strawberry up from his plate with his fork and offered it to Kalos. "It's really good. I want you to try it. You can eat fruits to your heart's content." Ignacio was a huge fruit eater himself. It usually made up 62.813% of his daily diet.
"Oh, the brown is oatmeal. Have you ever had oatmeal before?" Ignacio asked quietly with a smile on his face. Kalos was a little pink ball of cuteness. He wondered if one of her arms broke off if it grew back.
"Ah, so you're really new here, then." Ignacio nodded his head slowly. "That's...good, right?" He didn't know if she came to the States because he had no other family and the Mansion offered a safe space for or not. So instead of being nosy, he decided not to dig any deeper.
When Alice asked about his powers, Ignacio sat up a little straighter in his seat. "I can absorb solar energy," he answered with a grin, "and do cool solar flare tricks." The latter was much more fun to do than him going into his Tollan form.
"Firefly...?" Ignacio's eyes lit up as he watched Juliette straight to light up light, well, the Sun. He stared directly at her as she changed into what looked like to be fireflies. If Ignacio had this to look forward to when he got older, then he might stick around Mansion a little while longer. As she shifted back into her normal form, he frowned a bit. The light she was producing made him actually happy.
He felt save enough to do a little show too. Ignacio placed his hands at an angle by his head and looked up. His eyes turned back orange and immediately after, a orange, yellow, and pink headdress. With each passing second, he felt his power drain. Iggy stopped after five seconds and looked at Juliette. They were more similar than what he previous thought.
"...You're like the Cipactonal to my Tonatiuh." He whispered after some time.
>> "Who's dead because of you?"
Ignacio's mouth felt dry. He wanted to run and hide in the light and warmth of the Sun. He hung his head in shame.
"I...-- one day when I was fourteen, I went to the mailbox to get letters and things and when I opened it, something to the side of me stuck in my neck. It looked like a needle and I didn't know what it was," he took a breath, "then I started feeling hot. I screamed from the amount of heat I was feeling and when my parents ran out to my aid, I...exploded. I was in a coma for about two months after that."
"...There's free food," Ignacio repeated, "you don't want to miss out on breakfast. It's really good," he sniffed and studied teh woman closer. When she burped, Ignacio scrunched up his nose, "you're excused."
He paused for s second. "The Mansion has burgers and fries," Ignacio didn't know what else to say in order to make her go back with him to the mutant safe haven. Instead, he lazily cuffed his hands together and concentrated. His eyes started to glow sunset orange and soon a ball of orange and yellow light started to form. It shifted until it was in the shape of a mini sun.
After a while, he stopped and looked at her. "...What's your name by the way?"
Ignacio had been volunteering at Sanctuary on and off for the past year now. He saw it as an opportunity to ex sponge his guilt and sin for murdering his parents. However, even with him doing this, he still hated himself. Deep down underneath his dazzling good looks and sunshine personality. He tried not to think about it too much.
Iggy was dressed in a yellow pastel polo shirt that brought out his eyes and a pair of khaki shorts that the shirt was tucked into.
He had made a couple of friends at Sanctuary, but for some reason they weren't there when he arrived. Instead, he decided that he would get some sweeping done in the foyer.
The teenage mutant whistled softly to himself as he performed the task before feeling a presence behind him. He turned to see a girl with fair skin and dark hair -- almost black. With a bright smile, he shrugged.
"No need to be. Hola, Aura and...is that a skunk?" Ignacio had a confused look on his face. He shook his head and focused back on the woman. "I'm Tonatiuh," he paused, "well, that's like my mutant name. My real name is Ignacio."
Ignacio shrugged his shoulders, "I'm not a math teacher, I just follow the rules and hope that it doesn't bite me in the butt later."
"...But I said it in Spanish. I didn't know you spoke Spanish too! ¿De dónde eres?" Ignacio asked with a wide smile. Did Iggy finally find someone to speak Spanish with?! That alone made him very happy.
"Nice to meet you, Chase." Ignacio then turned his attention down to the next math problem. "Uh, 4 x 4 is 16. 16-31 is a negative number." He didn't know the answer off of the top of his head, but he knew that the answer had to be somewhere in the teens.
"I am! That's right! I'm muy bontio and you're," he poked her stomach, "muy bontia."[/color] The kid was just so cute! She was like a walking and talking piece of coral. He giggled and shifted his position so that he was squatting instead of kneeling.
"Nice to meet you, Kalos, I'm Ignacio, but you can call my 'Iggy'." He playfully winked at her before standing up and going to get himself a plate.
The majority of the food he was getting was fruit. The rest was just a hard boiled egg and spoonful of oatmeal. Ignacio looked over his shoulder at the girl who was following him. That alone made him smile more than usual. It was nice having someone who looked up to him.
After getting what he wanted, he found a seat at the long dining room table and waved Kalos over.
