The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A very, very bald Aedus sprinted down the road, toward the turkey Giant... His Beanie was having trouble staying on his head, his smooth flesh just didn't offer the same resistance as a full head of hair did, but he couldn't take the time to care, there were a lot of lives at stake. He was running as hard as he could, even if his power could only take out one of the legs, it might offer a point of concentration that others could help take this thing out, with how many mutants he had ran into this month alone, he was starting to doubt that the consensus was any sort of accurate where x genes were concerned. What mutant would be stupid enough to admit to it after the registration act?
As he tore the asphalt up under his feet and was begging to make progress on catching up with the thing He spotted one of the smaller Turkey goblins chasing a woman running for her and her babies life. That couldn't stand. He veeered toward the smaller version of the horrific thing...it wasn't quite a zombie, at least the birds had been frozen, but after Halloween it just wasn't as terrifying as it might have been without that therapy inducing event.
He grabbed a street sign in his left hand and let his feet leave the ground planting them solidly on the butterball(s) that were chasing the lady...and now he had it's attention.

OOC - Hey all. We’re assuming that Shin and Kealey are elsewhere in the city from where you are fighting. Just wanted to make sure we didn’t have any overlap problems.
The rolls. Shin had just thrown the rolls.
As they ran from the bus, Kealey allowed herself a moment to wonder what they were going to do for potatoes and rolls at Aurum’s now…but there was no time to dwell. Shin was right, they’d needed that distraction for the guy who’d been the victim of her potatoes.
People were scared all over the place, and rightly so. It wasn’t every day that you had to deal with a…a…turkey golem the size of…something around 8 ft tall in the middle of Manhattan, stomping everything that got in its way. Kealey looked this way and that, then back at Shin.
”People are panicking.” she said, trying to ignore the hair standing up on the back of her neck and the sudden instinct to run and hide. ”I’ll do what I can…” she said, already pushing up her sleeves and visualizing the mental DJ deck. She probably wouldn’t be able to handle it all…but she could sure try.
”Think you can stop it?” she asked as she started mentally taking the panic down, one notch at a time. Fear she left…fear was healthy and kept people who were unequipped for battle from doing stupid stuff and getting hurt…man this was a touchy business.

"Trust me," Shin quipped. He rolled up his sleeves. "I'm an expert."
And then he got to focusing on calling up a giant silver blade made of razor-sharp diamond-hard triangles with his mind. It was a slow process. And so, while Kealey focused on her task... he focused on that.
With a big thud, the turkey seemed to notice them, and turned its attention their way.
Did. Did. It even have eyes?
This was a really important question Shin's mind was questing for the answer to, that moment.

The crowd was calming, slowly but surely. Kealey took a moment and wiped the sweat that was beading on her brow away and took a deep breath. Toeing the line between the panic and the fear was tough, and taking almost all of her concentration. It was working though, and people were gradually starting to respond. Instead of running around screaming, with arms flailing and common herd mentality, they were using a bit of survival logic and getting out of the turkey-golem’s way.
Shin was working, and Kealey could feel his focus as he drew up his blade. It would have been easy to be distracted by how gosh darn cool that was, but she knew she needed to concentrate as well, especially as the turkey gobble-roared again and the panic she was working so diligently to hold down surged again.
The turkey noticed her and Shin then, and started moving their way.
“Uh Shin….” Kealey said, helpless against the ridiculously inappropriate smile that was tugging at her lips despite the danger they were in. If a person looked at it the right way…Shin was about the carve the biggest turkey in New York City.
Did she have any idea what she was doing? Nope. Was she realizing that too late? Yep.
Lydia swore as the ridiculous-looking turkey blob continued after her and the winged girl, her block of wood not doing much but cutting the size of the monster down bit by bit. It was slow moving for a rapidly approaching creature. She was backing up when she saw a black mass crush a turkey creature at her side.
She almost yelped at the sight, but something in her brain registered that the shadows had just saved her, so they couldn’t be bad. She traced the shadows back to a younger man moving towards them.
>> “Are you two alright? You should go somewhere... safer!"
…no s***. Dia almost rolled her eyes at the suggestion. It wasn’t like she hadn’t tried to do that. And she was pretty sure there weren’t many safe places left, judging by the growing surge of violent, eight-foot-tall turkey zombies overtaking the city. She threw her broken plank at another monster, taking its arm and sending it into a shop window.
Other than the splinters in my hands and the turkey’s currently attacking me, I couldn’t be any better.
>> "Do you know those three?" >> "Yeah, the guy with the water's a cop."
Those three? She looked towards the man’s indication, and saw the silver man from earlier, a cat person, and a man surrounded by a torrent of water, all fighting off the turkeys, including the gigantic mega turkey. And heck, they looked like they were winning. Sort of.
She glanced back at the younger girl, actually noticing the horns and the tail and the skin and everything, in addition to the wings. She was shocked, to say the least, but the most shocking of all was the grin on her girl’s face. Was she insane? Why on Earth was she smiling? Sure she knew the cop, but the situation did not call for that sort of facial action! Lyd certainly wasn’t smiling. She almost crossed her arms, the smug smirk unsettling her that much.
And then a turkey kicked her.
The turkey she had thrown the wood at. The turkey who, if it had a face, would certainly be wearing a triumphant expression at the successful assault. Nope, Lydia was most definitely not smiling. She was more cringing in pain, having landed quite hard on her side, amidst the broken glass and wood splinters. She could go for some crazy, powerful mutation at the moment. Or a sword.
So he was right; the water guy was a cop; good. As unlikely as it was, Nate was happy to see a boy in blue on the scene that could actually do something about this situation. Hell, the more, the merrier. He just hoped people without powers or a way to defend themselves were getting far away.
Speaking of the non-mutants hanging around, the brunette was putting up one hell of a fight, before she took a turkey kick that knocked her clear off her feet. Thankfully, the little girl made it just out of the way. Instinctively reacting, his shadow formed an orb that encircled the fowl assailant. When the orb was complete, he pierced the inside with shadowy spikes. The shadows receded to reveal chopped turkey.
He sent his shadow to the girl on the ground, lifting her delicately off the ground in its velvety grasp. She was basically placed next to him and he placed a hand on her shoulder, making sure the clumsy shadow did not just drop her awkwardly. "Are you okay?" He looked over the girl while his shadow kept turkey zombies at bay, throwing them back as they unrelentingly moved in on them. "Any chance either of you gals is hiding a turkey-crushing mutation?" Carving-knife hands? Human Oven? Frozen foods-mancy?

Unfortunately Streak only managed to hear her first quip. The wishbone it is. Streak thought as he moved the in and out of the fleeing people. By this time quite a number of people were already out of their way and had moved across the street to where some cops had stated to corral them back and keep them out of danger.
Streak managed to get a little bit of height when the car that he was standing on was suddenly launched into the air by the giant undercooked bird. It wasn't even trying to get him. He had enough time to look around and see what had gotten it's attention. It was Shin and Kealey, two other members of the X-men and he was glad that they were there. It would make things a little easier. But not much.
Shawn felt his direction change as the car started to fall back to the ground. "Ahhh! Freakin gravity." Streak shouted as he plummeted back towards the hard asphalt below him. Hopefully the car would take a bit of the impact. Finally coming back around to what he was supposed to be doing, instead of screaming like a little girl, he took a quick glance around the area and saw his friends, the girl that'd run into him, and a few others he'd either seen or hadn't seen before. Hitting the ground was definitely going to hurt. He didn't doubt that. What he did doubt was wether or not anymore of these buildings would be able to take the beating that they were getting from this bird. Mayhem was in full swing now and he was oddly enough enjoying it. Maybe there was something wrong with him.
Sara's warning came unheeded but it was pretty obvious what the guy was doing and how serious it could be. Did this guy have a purpose? Streak wondered. He didn't have time to come up with a supposed answer because just then the car hit the ground and threw him a good 20 feet from where he'd started. Streak picked himself up off the concrete and sprinted back at the monster. He blew past his two fellow X-men and picked up his sword on the way back to the giant turkey. The silvermancer seemed to pause for a second, and did a double take to realize that the girl that'd run into him was still in the area. "Gah! That girl didn't listen." He would have done more than just talk to himself but he had to focus on the bigger problem. And at the moment the bigger problem was the giant butterball terrorizing the city. What could they do? They didn't have anything big enough or at the moment powerful enough to take care of it.
Streak left it alone and focused on the smaller minion aviaries that were doing the lesser damage. Sure they were smaller but they were still doing damage and they had to be stopped also. He'd save the big guy for last. Streak then turned to one of the sidewalks and started to battle a couple of minions that were destroying their way through one of the many book stores on the street.

STOMP.
STOMP.
Now!
Shin's eyes flashed open. The blade flew forward. One slash. That was all it took. One of the legs fell right off.
The turkey wobbled. And then it lost its balance, tumbling to the floor.
Shin glanced to Kealey. He pointed at the leg on the street. And smiled. "Got you a drumstick."
Turkey wings flailed. The one leg kicked. But it was on its back, and there was no way the comically oversized turkey made of turkey was going to get back up on its feet.
Just for coolsies and added safety, though, Shin casually turned back to the behemoth bird and bisected it neatly with a couple of shard slashes.

This. Was almost unfair. Shin had that giant sword that could cut through the world and the turkey…was made of turkey.
A leg was sliced through, the turkey-monster fell, and Shin made a joke. Kealey laughed and shook her head. "Thanks."
Besides being unfair, it was almost too easy. The turkey was still moving around on the ground, but it couldn’t get anywhere minus a leg. Just to be sure, Shin cut the thing into a few more pieces. It wasn’t even moving anymore.
Well.
That was one way to stop a panicked crowd. Disaster averted, Kealey dropped her emotional hold on the crowd and breathed a sigh of relief.
”I wish all the bad guys we fought went down that easily.” she said, then frowned, looking back at the bus.
”How are we going to show up to Aurum's without potatoes and rolls.” Kealey worried.

The silver sword sliced and diced the turkeys as they came at him. Some realized that they were being attacked at they ransacked the stores. Others didn't see it coming until it was to late. Uncooked limbs flew everywhere as Streak carved up the birds.
Suddenly, and rather violently, he felt the ground shake harder than it had when the giant turkey was walking. Streak stopped his butchering long enough to look back at the street and see that the giant undercooked bird was lying in the ground and being butchered by Shin. Lets here it for the Xmen. Streak thought. He spun his sword in his hand like an expert and stabbed into a smaller turkey that was trying to get the jump on him while his back was turned.
Shawn walked back out into the street and looked for Sara. She couldn't be to far off and he was pretty sure that there was going to be a lot of paperwork for he police whenever they finished all this clean up. It was great that he was basically a vigilante with a badge right now. The badge simply gave him the opportunity to continue his Xmen duties with the approval of the law. He didn't really need to have the law behind him he would do it anyways. It didn't stop him in the years before and he didn't really care about it now.
Streaks first stop was to make sure that the girl that had run into him was okay. While he was getting thrown into the air on the car he saw that she was still hanging around. Maybe she got out finally. As he got closer, still covered in silver, he saw that she was still there along with a couple others. "Gina. What are you doing here? You should be somewhere safe." He wasn't really reprimanding her but he was sort of I charge of her safety and he wanted to make sure that she knew he was concerned for her safety.

Having obtained its vengeance on its human aggressor, the giant turkey turned and began stalking back down the street. They were in the clear, for now...
>> "Any chance either of you gals is hiding a turkey-crushing mutation?"
Gina shook her head. What he saw was what there was. The realization that Gina didn't have a turkey-crushing mutation suddenly made her feel quite exposed. She looked around in the rubble and found a small metal pipe. Yeah, that would work. Gina picked the pipe up, feeling rather silly, but hey, at least she was armed.
>> Gina. What are you doing here? You should be somewhere safe."
Gina blinked. She knew that voice. But where from?
"...Shawn?" Gina inquired uncertainly. She kept an eye on the turkeys, but let her gaze flicker back to the silver-guy, "I was... uh, window-shopping, and the giant turkey kind of snuck-up on me?"

Shawn smiled at Gina. The only thing he could think of was, how could something so big sneak up on you? but instead he just said, "Looks like you need work on your observing skills."
Streak turned tithe other two. It was about time he introduced himself to the girl that had tried to run him over before. There was another guy that he'd never seen before... But then again that kind of thing happened all the time. He was always running into new mutants. "The names Streak. Short for Silver Streak. Thanks for taking care of one of my students. What's yall's names?" he said indicating the two others.
Well, there was a pleasant surprise: the silver guy had a down-south accent. Actually, it was more Western than his own; maybe Texan? Not important at the moment. What other information could he gather? He called the young girl (Gina, apparently) a student, meaning he was a teacher. She called him Shawn and he called himself Silver Streak. The only mutants he could think of who would have aliases (besides him) were probably the X-Men. Well, hot damn, he just met himself an X-Man.
For now it was probably best if he avoided his real name; it could be a decision he would regret later.Instead, he thought back to his knowledge of Latin and his childhood days dreaming of being a superhero. "Call me Umbra for now then. And don't mention it; there aren't exactly many places I'd call safe 'round here, so I'm happy to protect these young gals." His shadow tossed an approaching turkey into the distance; thankfully, it took more instinct and less concentration to control his shadow. "So taking care of these lil things is fine and all, but do you have a plan for the giant one?"
Aedus Charged towards the sound of the stomping only intervening on one of the lesser beasts when it was terrorizing innocent citizens. if they were merely bashing a car or attacking a dumpster like he saw a pair of the turkey goblins doing he left them to their work.
Aedus turned the corner to see the pilgram's pride, the Turkey to end all turkeys, it was Turk-Zilla! "HEY TURKEY!" Aedus Shouted at the top of his lungs from the middle of the street. "ITS TIME TO COOK!" Aedus sincerely hoped it wasn't the last thing he ever said...but what line to go out on. As he sprinted toward the Giant turkey, He felt his skin start to get feverish; He was calling the heat forward. From his chest it seemed to bubble outward. He called it forth, it was the first time he had tried to make it happen, his only experience before this was underground and induced by drugs. he was taking a big gamble here.
A colossus turkey leg stomped the ground near him, he had gotten its attention, and apparently it didn't like to be taunted.
His clothes burst into flames, his flesh cracked and melted away, ash and smoke flared into the air as his clothing burned away, and the man was now a being of lava. The giant turkey leg came down with a vengeance and the lava man disappeared in sizzle with his fist nobly raised.
***THUD***
The turkey foot rose again, only to reveal a puddle of lava bubbling on the ground, a few turkeys were left behind slowly burning away into nothing. For a moment it looked as if the lava man’s challenge was a short lived attempt indeed.
But then, the lava rippled and began to flow upward like a fountain until it formed a liquid shape of a man; the Mass of liquid fire howled into the air and began to chase Turk-Zilla’s leg at a frustratingly slow jog. He could burn the whole thing if it would just stay still.
