The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He shook his head. “I suppose crazier things have happened, I just can’t fathom turning you away.” Something about the mischief in her smile gave him the courage to simply be honest.
“Would you think me too bold, if I said I was waiting for you? That is to say, a charming young woman that was easy to talk to.” He then paused and ruined what might have been a decent pick up line. “ opposed to a creepy stalker waiting on you sort of way.” He dropped his head slightly. And shook his head at the concrete. “ So, today apparently I am saying awkward things.”
It was too perfect of a day to worry about embarrassing himself, and she seemed to sweet to really hold him accountable for the nonsense that was coming out of his mouth. At least he hoped she would be forgiving and not make a quick exit.
Aedus watched his heart run for her life. He couldn't explain why he was happy, but then who would he explain it to anyway? He wouldn't and thus he would just grin as he watched her braid bounce as she made her escape, He wondered when and if she would call him again.
He strolled along the sidewalk, talking a much more leisurely stroll through the world.
Aedus watched as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, was she as frustrated with herself as he was with her? The way her eyes flitted about under her eyelids said she was. She would open her eyes to find a smirk on his face that, unfortunately she would recognize on his face as the one he got when he thought he was winning. He might as well have said a matter of time to her point blank.
“Thanks for the lesson, you too.” He nodded, with his now smug expression. “I’ll make sure to do that.” He snatched up his now empty revolver checked the cylinder, just in case his distracted Noel left one in. he put his piece in his coat pocket and followed Noel up.
His first order of business was to get to the Teague estate, Make sure Mom, Dad and his countless siblings were ok. it was Teague family protocol to regroup at his grandfathers estate, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters and parents the Teague family made a small army. given their predisposition to procreating and active x-genes he couldn't think of a safer group to be with. it took a couple days to get there and he didn't like what he saw along the way, groups of vandals, thugs and worse.
Still he had to carry on, make his way,he had to get to his family and couldn't stop to help anyone along the way. No one seemed to want to get in the way of the obsidian man with fire for eyes. he avoided fires, sinkholes, car wrecks, looters. and whe nhe finally got there, the place he had the most found memories in the world of was a crater... a smoking whole in the ground, the wrecake of what he assumed was a plane sending plumes so of black smoke into the sky. for days he dug and sifted through the wreckage. hoping he would find someone still alive, but he only uncovered bodies.
family members, servants, the occasional passenger from the plane worse as the days went by no one else showed. he waited three more weeks and slowly came to understand the fact that everyone he knew was deceased.
Something inside of him broke, He wept and his tears hit the ground and sizzled. slowly but surely he fashioned the rubble of his grand fathers home into a memorial, a huge pyre lit with the eruption of his flesh.
He waited until the pyre burned to ash still no one had shown. he was numb, numb to the world and all the pain it had wrought with in moments.
As the last Teague, he would have to bring honor to the name. an occasional wanderer came through and told of the tragic chaos the world was turning into. He he would on the men that preyed on the weak, he would destroy those that threw their morals out with the world they had once known, it was a tragedy.
So hot, she handled his revolver with the same professional marksmanship she did her loaner. The way her jaw set and her lips opened slightly drove him wild his heart raced beating wildly in his chest.
She stood and he looked up admiring her form for a moment from a new angel. He came to a stand and Aedus wanted to kiss her; he couldn’t help himself, he wanted to plant a kiss on her stubborn pouty lips so badly. He cleared his throat. “yeah, of course I did, you are a good teacher. And the experience of having done it in a controlled environment was eye opening.” Aedus babbled. He watched as she bounced the bullets up and down and he swallowed hard.
He hit the safety and dropped the clip out the gun, how many times had he seen an action hero ignore the falling clip to shove another in. he checked the chamber just in case before handing the weapon over handle first.
“yeah, I’ve got stuff I have to do around the apartment.” He hadn’t meant to lie. “Sorry, stuff I can get done around the apartment.” That was the truth, there were plenty of things he could get done, any more important than spending the rest of the day with Ms.hard to get. Not likely.
“And that is why you stay on this side of the gun, Mr.Paper.” Aedus set the gun and empty magazine on the arm rest. Why was noel so damned confusing!? He could see it in her eyes.
The whole sky lit up, the way a room did when you were trying to sleep but some cruel force had decided that the best way to say good morning was to tear ever curtain in the room open, then the heat and fire rolled through as if some angry tidal wave of fire and doom.
He had been taking his laundry down to the mat down the street, not because he didn’t have a washer and dryer, but because this cute girl from the Gym apparently frequented the place, and if he saw her in the gym and they did laundry at the same place, well obviously fate wanted them to meet each other.
She had a pair of pink work out shorts with white trim, they did justice to the word short, She had some faded blue rock concert shirt on from ’92 proclaiming reunion tour in letters larger than the bands name, it was cut and flaunted a midriff that was well honed. her skin was the color of cinnamon, Her darker than black hair was pulled back into a perky pony tail. She had tall socks that went up to her thighs. And he watched the expression on her perfect face as she burned.
Fate is a funny thing about that sort of thing. Sometimes it made you think one thing, like hey you should meet a pretty girl and take her out to lunch and sometimes it had other plans, like blowing up the whole frickin world around you. His body nearly instantaneously erupted into flame and lava, the wave of heat, fire and brimstone passed him by. Everyone else within sight was erupting to. Except they didn’t stay standing, their bones melted.
MAD had failed them. Mutually assured destruction, indeed. Buildings began to collapse and all he could do was run into the intersection and hope to survive.
A building collapsed on him moments later and he started making the slow climb burning and inching his way through the rubble until his head peeked out to a different world, one made solely of flame and ash.
His finger froze on the trigger as she tapped his Knee while he was wasting bullets, he observed her positioning and took a breath kneeling next to her and attempting to get his head back in the game so to speak.
He nodded before placing his finger back over the firing mechanism. Deep breath and fire on release, He braced in the same fashion Noel had been and he sent a bullet chasing her’s. A pair of headshots rang through the building as the pair thwarted the paper threat once more. It helped quite a bit when you cared about aiming for a target.
“There we go, That’s much better.” Noel’s gun was infinitely smoother, and less exhausting. But he couldn’t help but feel like a gunslinger with that revolver in his hand. He clicked the trigger and there were no more bullets to fire. That was a sad use of a magazine. He raised the gun and blew on the barrel after the safety was on again of course..
He looked to Noel and lowered his arms Waiting to see if she wanted a go with the revolver. If not they might have been done with their firing range session. Where did they go from there? Pancakes, firing range…subway ride?
Noel retrieved the bullet and he couldn't help but observe. He cleared his throat as she handed him the bullet. He might have to limit access to his memories if he was going to let his imagination run wild. She must have come across som
She gave him that look that had him so sure she was into him and he seemed to loose track of what was going on...right, magazine jam.
He swallowed hard and then nodded to the long haired brunette. "Sure, trade ya?' He offered his weapon in exchange it still had two slugs ready to go, the rest were on the counter. He waited for Noel to put on her ear muffs, tapped the safety and let loose a barrage of shots adding to Mr.paper's woes for the day.
He absolutely could not do the strait line thing that Noel had been doing his shots were more like a scatter fire, but then his mind wasn't all in the game now.
Perhaps, it was the fact that he within the last few moments now actually qualified as a man, Perhaps it was the gorgeous stranger in his home, kissing him, Perhaps it was the culmination of the years of relative solitude he had inflicted on himself. Fate? it could have been fate. it certainly seemed like a random occurrence, but then she said she was in espionage, if this was spy work, well then 007 just lost his place as his favorite spy.
She was the answer to so many of the thoughts he had a bout leaving town recently, at least she could be.
She got on her tip toes to kiss him, in response he bent slightly, just enough to scoop her up, their mouths only parted for a moment. With her in his arms he found his way to the only other room in his house.
Were they moving too quickly? Quite possibly. Was there any chance either of them were going to slow down enough to find out? not likely.
He watched with keen interest as she bent the rules but didn’t break them concerning gun safety.
Heh, squib. he hopped there were muggles involved too.
He nodded in agreement to the front part, he would have suggested barrel except that he wasn’t confident that she wasn’t talking about the front part of the magazine. It could have a front part to he was sure. Aedus leaned slightly away from the barrel of the gun when she was looking down the side of it to see if she could get a location on the bullet in question.
“So, will the next round need adjusting or is it easy as removing and reattaching the slide?”
He then nodded, “ I read that the solution to a misfire in a revolver is having to reload, if a bullet doesn’t come out, then you are out of bullets. after you reload it is likely to be the firing pin, which can’t be fixed without tools and thus you are out of luck.
Her hand slid along his shoulder and whipped away the remnants of the stone like magic, it always reminded him of a magna doodle, you swiped the little bar across and the slate was clean again. She put her hand down on obsidian and revealed flesh. Her skin was delicate and soft and the first person that had touched him outside of battle in ages. She stepped closer still and they were inches apart, in the romantic movies of old, this almost always meant there was supposed to be a kiss, was that appropriate seeing as she had just come to his door not even an hour ago? Could he afford to ask? Wouldn’t that ruin the moment?
Her eyes ran across his face and he couldn’t help but realize it was appreciatively. If his intentions were devilish, then his actions matched.
She spoke and he answered… just without words. His mouth opened slightly and his teeth lightly bit her bottom lip, he didn’t hold her lip hostage for long, releasing it to kiss her softly. If this wasn’t what she wanted, she was certainly free to pull away, that said, she only got closer when he gave her devilish looks, so he would hazard the risk and attentively find out, how devilish his intentions were allowed to be.
His hands went to her side, again leaving her room to escape, but suggesting she’d be happier if she stayed. His heart thundered in his chest, wild with the joy of something unexpected and passionate.
He returned the grin, allowing himself the luxury of basking in the natural talent that his mama gave him.
Aedus did not, would not, could not smile. He refused to laugh or even crack a grin. She was hoping and cursing and it was hilarious, but he firmly ate all the laughter bubbling up inside of him.
He instead crowded her. " Nice shots," He complimented what she ahd done already and then proceeded to ask questions " alright teach, every problem is an opportunity. What do we do from here?" He made note of the cursing hoping dance for later, it might come in handy. from what he read, this was the advantage of a revolver, less shots, a lot less likely to jam.
Aedus nodded as he slid his earmuffs on once more. He placed his elbows lightly on the stand and slowed his breathing, the boom of his firearm still caught him off guard slighty but it was now one he was more familiar with he felt the power behind it and knew a little more what to expect this time around. He aimed for the corner the corner of the left eye and managed to take out the bridge of papers nose. He was pretty sure it was the gun, or he was pulling to the right. It would feel amateurish to start blaming the gun already, but it felt like he might need to compensate.
The paper of the face was pretty much destroyed as far as being a target went. So he announced quite loudly. “ Going for the Adam’s apple. He aimed slightly to the left of where he wanted to hit, and Mr. Paper wouldn’t have to worry about the protrusion of his throat anymore.
He would have to tell his mother. She would be proud. He, like her had apparently been born a marksman. He wasn’t quite doing the needle work that Noel had managed, but he could get there. He slid the safety on and nodded Noel forward stepping back and to the left to have a good view over her shoulder.
A stone eyebrow shaped ridge raised at the thought of what she could accomplish if she wanted to. “Beautiful and mysterious, I might be falling for you already.”
She didn’t mention any boys wanting on here back home, she was reclusive so, She likely would have mentioned if she reclus’ed with someone.
Aedus took a step back, for the most part he didn’t want to ruin their tea with a misplaced bit of obsidian. He squeezed his eyes shut and the fire orbs of lava returned to almost glowing pupils of orange. He grew bolder by the moment, reaching out for her hand amd pulling he closer, gently yet firm. “You can get as close as you’d like.”
The small chips of stone fell to the ground, spinning and falling only to crack and live minute piles of broken black stone on the ground, moments later, he stood there facing her, face to face and no intention of backing away. “this side of the transformation is abit anticlimactic compared to what happens the next time around. Still.” He stretched reacquainting himself with the familiarity of what it meant to have all of his human features intact once more. A mischievous smirk lit his lips and soon hit his eyes.
>>”No, it’s okay. It’s actually happened a few times. I wasn’t too sure how to handle it the first few times, but I think I know what to do now. Why? Did you plan on saying no before I sat down?
‘Of course not.” He scooted a little closer “See.” He teased back, Aedus began to smiled and then his jaw dropped. What sorry excuse of a new Yorker hoarded a bench. And it must have been a woman, he couldn’t see any man with out a major vison problem sending this one away. “You are joking right? Tell me that, no one told you, you coouldn’t sit next to them, and if you are being serious, you have to tell me. What did you do?” His flirtatious nature and overly social self didn’t warn him that he might have been being overly familiar he often forgot that he didn’t know absolutely everyone in the city.
Then again, he never had an issue with getting to know the ones he did want to know. He wasn't offended, not in the slightest, if anything he was all the more intrigued, if he played his cards right, he would find himself helping the little lady carry her bags home.
