The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shin bit his lip as the door slammed in reverse, imagining the zig-zagged horrors revolving doors could do to a tail. Her gripped the counter a moment, shaking the thought off. The customers waiting on him had their backs turned, watching the scene play out with a myriad of reactions. One woman couldn’t bear to look at it. She imagined when her own cat had its tail caught in a door, hissing and spitting as it lashed out at anything that moved. A bearded gentleman shook his head.
“Well, I never.”
“I should hope so…” A high-school-aged brunette snapped at him, whipping her head back at the scene with worry in her eyes. Her glasses reflected the light from the doorway, momentarily obscuring pupils of green.
“Excuse me…” Shin held up a finger, closing the register. A sign popped up in the little dollar sign window, reading ‘no sale.’ He slipped past the crowd to offer the catgirl a helping hand. “Are you alright?” He offered. “No broken bones or anything, right…? Hey Ghost, can I give her a cup of coffee on the house for her troubles? This sort of thing’s brutal. Wouldn’t want bad publicity over it…” He frowned, then turned back to the girl. “My name’s Shin, by the way. How do you take your coffee?”
Round and round did the door go with Cailyn inside. It was fun to go round and round since you would be woozy and twisty when you get out. Somebody even was sharing the fun. It was the kitty cat lady she met someday. Her tail was always fun and she looked at it while pushing the door. “Don’t you want to go inside?”
She nodded in a no-ward way and she continued doing as she was. She began to feel the woozy ness that was fun but suddenly the door halted and there was a scream. The soft, fury tail of the kitty cat lady was stuck between the door. What had she done. She turned around and wanted to help in a panic. Kitty cat ladies shouldn't have their tails between door. She wanted to reach for it but halted halfway in a panic. What if she pulled it of. She didn't know what to do and that was easily read of her face.
She began to apoligize as people where starting to do what she didn't dare to. "Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry." She began to rant as the door was being melted down by a pretty lady. The door was loose and the tail was saved. She stayed behind the cat lady and apoligesed some more. "I didn't mean to." She said with a sad voice.
The door trauma quickly subsided as mutants filed in to help as they were able to free to feline. Garrett noticed with a mix of distaste and disappointment as the humans laughed and took pictures. His work was cut out for him surely. Maya quickly vanished back into the mix and mingle once the cat was free. The poor cat girl. She was embarrassed by all of the sudden and unwanted attention. He wondered if she would let him soothe what was surely a sickly throb.
Now that the filing in of people had subsided and the store was returning to what passed for grand opening normalcy, Garrett made his own entrance through the doors. It looked much different than when he had last been in. It seemed more light and airy, not so much dust and silence. This was a sure sign of an air elemental's constant presence. He was sure that eyes were upon him, but the only ones that he was concerned with were the honey brown ones that were shining with pride.
Stepping over to the coffee counter, Garrett helped himself to a steaming cup of the elixir. His senses were acute, the aroma coating his nasal passages and waiting at the back of his throat for the coffee to meet it. Putting a lid on securely for safety, Garrett wanted to mingle. His feet turned though as his hand picked up the silk bundle. He had come to congratulate and greet her, but he also wished to share his gift with her. Long strides carried him to the counter and the cute little cotton top in her smock.
Placing the small bundle of luxurious Eastern silk on the counter before Maya, Garrett's smile widened. The store could be full to capacity or completely empty. There was only Maya before him. He remembered to use her pseudonym, as that was what she preferred here." Hello, Vega. Quite a successful opening. I'm glad to see that all is well. I brought you a special gift for your birthday. I hope you like it." The lengths he had gone to procuring the gift and her reaction were secondary. The idea was to give a gift from the heart.
Ghost helped pass the doors and shook the cat woman's hand once she was in the store. "I believe we've met before, but just in case I'm Vega." She next scooped Hymn's hand up in a brisk shake and warm greeting. Ghost was pretty sure she'd seen both of these women around before: the cat once when she was lost and the girl was around after the incident here at the book shop. "You are most welcome here."
Vega winked at the girl before going on to direct the crowd to the side handicapped exit to relieve some of the clog. Shin approached her there and after listening to Shin's request, Vega nodded curtly. "Whatever you deem necessary, Shin. I trust you implicitly." She grinned knowing that she had good friends. "You have a good head. Just don't give them all away for free."
Another wink and she was on her way back for another round of hand shaking. My how the times had changed. Just a year ago she was quite hesitant to even shake the hand of a friend. Maybe that had been because of her time away from the states or time in the camps, but the here and now was quite different.
Hands properly shaken, Ghost turned around to see what Sam was up to... except that she did not see Sam. She was face to face with Garrett. For a heart beat everything stopped. They were nose to nose. Had she grown? Or had she always been looking up to him before?
She nodded at his words, not trusting her voice to come out over the sudden knot in her throat, and accepted the silk. "Thank you." She cleared her throat with a cough and looked around to make sure the store was still there and the world was still spinning. She scratched at her eyebrow and shifted the silk in her hands.
It didn't feel like much. Was a little something good or bad? It was impossible to know if it was embarrassing or... a human tongue or something. God, who knew what the man had been up to while they'd been separated? Was he different? How could he not be different if he was living at the Sanctuary?
Ghost deposited the silk parcel gently into the kangaroo pocket of her canvas apron and looked Garrett in the eyes. They were so close and yet... Ghost closed the distance between them wrapping her twig-y arms around Garret. "I missed you..." She spoke into his ear so that only he would hear. She gave him a good squeeze and then backed up enough to offer him an uncertain smile.
Already, someone was calling her name and she was loathe to go. "We-we'll catch up... or something." How did one pick up the threads of a frayed relationship? Certainly not in such a crowded location. She extricated limbs and heartstrings and made sure her smile was back in place before trotting off to stymie the next problem before someone else's tail was stuck somewhere it ought not.

Rolling his eyes at his brothers work ethics Sam nodded and said, “Just talk to shin, if it costs you anything come back and I’ll pay if it’s free grab me a cup of coffee black…” smirking to his brother he said, “And ask Ghost for a job here, I am sure she will hire you, and most kids your age need a job anyways right?” Sam asked his smirk growing more and more smug at the fact that if Sam wanted he would never have to work a day in his life ever again seeing as the large sum spread across several different accounts and investments. Sure Sam could have taken care of everything his brother could ever have wanted but then again that in Sam’s eyes is the opposite of the brother he wants to be to Dom.
“I wonder how Sara always seems to get in so much trouble,” sighed Sam as he started to look around at all the new people entering the store. One after another familiar faces and not so familiar faces entered the building. Picking up on a beauty and a current mansion resident blood quickly rushed to Sam’s face only to be forced back down as he activated his mutation creating a cool sensation over his forehead, the sudden memory of Alex’s skin on his was more than enough to get anyone’s heart rate going.
It was true that Sam told Luke he would take care of it and let him know what happened but other than Alexandra’s half naked body on his in a swimming pool he thought it was best not to tell Luke less his lie detecting friend would pick up on something. So Sam being Sam ignored the fact that he would tell Luke if anything happened for the time being.
Spotting someone approaching the three men gathered around the register Sam smiled hoping that this would be the first customer and as such Sam’s first victim seeing as he ha been practicing on mastering the register while no one was watching him. ‘Ten seconds tops…’ thought Sam as he debated how long he could ring up and dish out the change for one book. ‘My goal for the day’ smiled Sam as he waited for the man to approach to them.
Quickly smiling to Luke and shrugging Sam said, “No idea, Shin is running the food I run the money!” said Sam with a fire of determination in his eyes, “This area!” said Sam as he made the circular motion around the register and said, “This area is mine! I own it! I am the register master! It won’t know how much change to spit up!” said Sam as his mood quickly lightened up as the man was now at the register, “Hello, sir!” Sam said with a smile to the man in a plain gray suit, “Find everything you were looking for?”
Her tail was still not the most comfortable part of her body, and would be for the next while. Even with her advanced heeling when it came to injuries to the bone, those healed a lot slower. But they healed. Sara just had to make sure her tail didn’t get caught in anything again, for the next while, and in an hour at most, it would feel just fine.
"Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry. I didn't mean to."
Sara shook her head at the other girl. She was trying to be calm and slow her heart rate, though her heart was still hammering in her chest and making her head pound, “It’s alright. Really. You wouldn’t believe how much this thing plots against me anyways.” Sara indicated her tail then decide that even though the over all crowd in the store was keeping their distance from her, it was best to keep the pesky tail where she could keep an eye on it better. So rather than letting it go back behind her, she kept it held between her hands.
"I believe we've met before, but just in case I'm Vega."
Sara nodded and sacrifised one hand that was cradling her tail, to shake Vega’s hand. “Right.” Sara’s eyes squinted at the girl’s face before the hair made her memory click. “Directions. Well you found your way I see and I don’t believe that we did exchange names. I’m Sara.”
A young man came over from the café area and Sara tilted her head at him as he came up to Ghost and herself so quickly. She wasn’t quite sure what to think of him or what to expect from him till he started to talk.
“Are you alright?”
Sara let out a sigh of relief. Audimatically she liked this place, despite the problem with her tail. “Yeah. I am.” She assured them. And if she wasn’t she would be. No big deal.
“My name’s Shin, by the way. How do you take your coffee?”
“Mine is Sara, and if it’s all the same to you, I’ll take just an earl grey tea. Thank you.”

Kaz had parked his Lamborghini down the block while the reporters had been around. When they left he pulled the car closer to the corner and parked again. Instead of heading to the corner to the revolving doors when he left the car, he headed toward the red side door. Kaz steps weren't heavy, but sure and solid, as his dress shoes made a light click with each step. His black slacks were of a relaxed fit while still keeping a crisp business look. Though that is where the 'business' look ended, from his waist up he looked relaxed and casual.
Kaz entered almost completely unnoticed and moved off to the side to take a look around. He let out a small, soft whistle. <Not bad at all.> He thought as he smirked a bit while running his hands along one of the book shelves. Kaz nodded and said a few quiet words to a customer here and there as he moved around. Kaz could smell the the books, fresh and new, it was almost overpowering, but not unpleasantly so. <Nicki would have loved it here.>
Sara's outburst shook Kaz out of his daze. After he took the time to look closer at those around he recognized a few faces: Sam, Sara, Vega, Luke, Hymn, and Garrett. He waited until the excitement had died down before moving more into the open. He had only come to see what Vega had done with the money he'd given her. When Garrett spoke to Vega, Kaz turned his attention elsewhere, watching Sam, Luke, and the counter area, though he couldn't help his ears from listening to what the two said, even whispered.
Stepping toward Sara, "Sara, you might consider wrapping your tail around your waist or taping it down. If you're not careful, it could get you into some serious trouble," Kaz smirked and chuckled at her, "Again."
"Vega," He spoke just loud enough to catch her attention, but not enough to disturb others, as he took a few strides toward her before she got too far away. When he neared her, a friendly smile on his face, he extended his hand to her. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything."

As he scanned the room for a second time – the only thing of interest he found, were some people talking, who obviously knew each other, which was quite strange since it was a newly opened bookstore, and then again not since it were probably acquaintances of the owners'- he was spoken to by the man behind the register.
His eyes fixed on the man he made a dropping motion with one gray-gloved hand, while putting on a thin smile. A dismissive gesture it was. His voice sounded calm and flat, though his foreign accent was still quite audible.
“As I an quite sure you don't have it in storage I would like to ask about whether you could find me the an edition of Goethe's Faust one with English and German text. If you can't get one I would like to acquire both a translation and the original in separate volumes.”
As he spoke the name of the author he eliminated all doubt about which language was his native one, since he pronounced it without hesitation in the correct way, not even stumbling about the th, with which many Americans had trouble with.
And ten there remained the questions about these people all around him. A few answers would be nice there, too. So he kept going:
“And if you don't mind, please tell me something about this shop. What makes it special?”
Special it was one could say,as he was not entirely sure, but if he was right, he had seen the cat lady here, which he had met at the Dragon Inn earlier this week. His smile broadened. If she was here there was a goos chance, that there were others of their kind here, too. The question he had to ask himself was a different one though. Should that really matter to him?
There was a clapping noise now, which seemed intent on drawing his attention away from the clerk, -and any other attention too for that matter, for it was a clapping of hands in unison- so he let his eyes wander around for a third time yet. They found the source of the noise to be a small group of people around an elderly woman in an old fashioned dress. The interesting thing about her was not her slightly crumpled and outdated appearance though. It lay in the sign she carried around inside the store, and at which her followers were looking, as if setting her eyes on anything else would cause them harm.
It was a sign with a white cross and the words:
“For the purity of blood!”
While her companions were wearing shirts that read different slogans curling tightly around the same symbol. And all circling around the same theme. Mutants out!
He did not do so much as glance at them twice as they were obviously deluded. But they also represented a movement, an Idea. And it was that Idea that worried him.
Alexandra smiled, her back straightening up as soon as the cat lady was free and her eyes returned to normal. “Your welcome.” she muttered for herself, half a grin on her lips. She stood there for a few more seconds, looking at the crowd outside, mostly at the protestants. Like a demon, the rage crept up inside of her. She needed all of her concentration not to do something against them.
Alexandra closed her eyes and let fresh air into her lungs. She turned around as she reopened them, forcing herself not to see the humans anymore. Entering trough the revolving doors that caused so much trouble only moments before, Alexandra took only a few steps into the bookstore, glancing around in an appreciative manner.
Her eyes met Ghost, as she mouthed a ‘hi’ to her, seeing she was already engaged in a conversation. A ‘nice work’ nod and smile accompanied her silent hello and then her eyes moved further.
She wasn’t surprised to see Sam and Luke there. Sam working at the register. Luke probably just visiting. Her cheeks turned red almost instantaneously and her first thought was to turn around and leave the store. Her body even moved around for a few degrees as she was thinking but she stopped herself. Eyes still locked on the two men, she swallowed hard, forced a smile up her face and waved, aware of the fact that sooner or later she would have to go there.
Taking a breath, her eyes turned away from the reason of her embarrassment and met Shin talking with the cat lady whose tail she just saved. Her feet moved again and she went to the pair. Smiling brightly, she put a hand on Shin’s shoulder. “Hey Shin, what’s up?” Her eyes turned to the cat lady, the smile still on her face. “That tail is some troublemaker,” she said taking a look at the tail that was now kept in her hands then back to her face. “Name is Alexandra, by the way.” she said holding up her hand.
A sudden clapping noise made her turn around and see a small group gathered around a woman holding a sign known to her. Her eyes narrowed and her lips tightened at this sight. This was supposed to be a neutral place. So why the hell were anti-mutant protestants inside the store?

Luke laughed at Sam's response and then gave him a slight wave as he stepped away from the counter so that he wouldn't be interupting the other man's work any more. Walking away, the blind man slowly strolled through the store, using his sonar to take in everything that was in the store but then the sound of clapping attracted his attention. Slowly making his way through some of the people, Luke focused his sonar on the area, immediately taking in the group that had apparently decided to make trouble here in the store. Who in the world had the gall to come into this store and set up some sort of protest when it had already been labled as neutral ground?
"Excuse me!" Luke called out just loud enough for the group to hear as he made his way through the crowd and took up a position standing just a few feet away from the elderly woman carrying her sign, "This is private property and if you'll notice there are signs saying no soliciting or pan-handling." At least, Luke assumed that Vega would have put up those kinds of signs. After all, this was neutral ground but it was also a business and it was pretty much standard practice to have those sorts of signs in businesses. "Obviously the sidewalk outside is open and available for you to do any protesting you may like but if you don't vacate the premises we will have to call the authorities."
It wasn't often that Luke pulled out his official sounding vocabulary but in this instance it seemed for the best. He really didn't want to see any trouble started on Vega's big day but unless these protestors left quickly there probably would be trouble. Either started by them or started by one of the mutants that was currently trying to enjoy the atmosphere of this new store!
"You've been asked politely but that will be your only warning. I'm sure the policemen outside will be glad to help keep the peace and make sure that no riots are started." He offered as pleasantly as he could, "So if you would be so kind?" He continued as he stepped to the side and waved a hand toward the revolving door exit.
"The nerve of some people!" Luke thought as he did his best to maintain a pleasant expression and just wait for the protestors to leave.
Dominic gasped at the words that were uttered from his brother's mouth. A job? Sure most kids his age had a part time job...then again, most kids his age didn't have the urge to use a fire hydrant every now and then either. Or goes crazy for cat nip. Or stuff their cheeks full of acorns. On the other hand, having his own money would be rather nice. That way he could purchase whatever he wanted without getting approval from Sam because it wasn't Sam's money. Plus the bookstore was nice and he liked books a lot. Working here would be a hell of a lot easier and better than flipping burgers at McDonald's or frying chicken at KFC. Darn, his mind was on food again. He really should go over and get a bite to eat.
"One coffee black and a job coming up," he said to Sam as he turned to head over to the cafe. On his way over he noticed Shin leaving the register and walking back over to where the cat lady was along with two other women. One of those women Dominic had met before. "Oh god, she's here..." he said as his cheeks turned red when his eyes had set on Alexandra. After the pool incident there was absolutely no way he'd be able to look at her without the image of her nude torso popping in his mind. Luckily his one track teenaged mind was set onto another one as he noticed the protesters in the store. "Really? Here?" he asked himself as his eyes narrowed. The nerve they had to do such a thing, especially since the people working here were mutants, not to mention Luke, Alex and the cat lady obviously was. Luke had given them a warning and gestured for them to leave. Of course there were always people who had to be so difficult...
"What are you? One of them too?" yelled a kid around Dominic's age wearing the same attire as the rest of the protesters. "You're all a bunch of freak lovers! All they do is cause the rest of us problems!"
"Freak?" Dominic quirked an eyebrow at the kid as he started to approach him. "You call mutants the problem when you're no better. Everything was going fine until you people showed up. So why don't you listen to Mr. Jacobs and leave this place so the rest of us don't have to listen to your crap."
"Oh yeah? Why don't you make me leave, punk" the boy said with his tone becoming more aggressive. "Come on! You wanna be so tough, then be tough! Make me lea-" the words cut off as the boy was silenced by a right hook to the jaw, compliments of Dominic.
"I picked that up from my brother." Dominic said and delivered another fist into the guy's mouth, knocking a few teeth loose. "Shōryū-ken!" another blow delivered as the guy was uppercutted and falling backwards into a table, breaking it on impact. "Heh...gotta love that game..." Dominic smiled scratching the tip of his nose with his index finger basking in his own victory. Then that's when he remembered where he was, realizing that he definitely shouldn't have done that. Then again, that kid was asking for it, and he got it. Still, Dominic looked over at Sam and saw his brother's expression. "Oh crap..."

“Whatever you deem necessary, Shin. I trust you implicitly.” Ghost replied with a grin. “… Just don’t give them away for free.”
“Of course,” Shin replied to Ghost with a smile. Nothing like that would ever happen while he was on-duty. Still, making sure was important. He was gunning for a job here. Might as well make a good impression. He turned back to the cat woman as Ghost slipped away, totally missing Seizure sneak a coffee behind his back.
“It’s alright. Really. You wouldn’t believe how much this thing plots against me anyways.” Sara indicated her tail. He could see how that’d be a problem. Things like that always got caught in the darnedest of places… why, even his long flowing coat often got caught in doors.
“Well, glad to hear you’re alright Miss Sara. One earl grey tea, then? I’ll see what I can whip up!” He spun to return to his counter, but stopped mid-spin as a hand fell on his shoulder. “Er, hey… Alexandra.”
“Hey Shin, what’s up?” Alex smiled brightly.
“Nothing much. Just about to prepare a cup of tea for Sara here.” He looked at the two girls as they introduced themselves, then glanced to the well-dressed, yet lax man he remembered from the party. Hadn’t gotten a real conversation with him, but the face stood out. No dragon today, though. He noted. Dragons probably wouldn’t be suitable for a book shop anyways, stuffy or not. “You two can talk amongst yourselves as I …” His voice faded out as the protestors caught his attention.
He sighed. What were they doing here? Maybe they’d finally seen the errors of their ways and were out to get philosophy books, but from the red on their signs and the glares on their faces, it was more likely they were out for blood… and that wouldn’t be happening today, if he had anything to do about it. The man Ghost had been talking to earlier stepped up to talk sense to the protestors, and Shin’s shoulders relaxed slightly.
Maybe this would sort itself out? One could hope. “…” Dominic’s fist connected with one of the protestor’s faces. Alas, it was not so. The protestor flew into a table. Shin looked from the broken wood to the crowd of protestors, and back again at Dominic. He walked forward calmly, bending over to grab the protestor’s hand and help him to his feet, shooting Dominic a death look.
“Sorry about that… some of the people here…” Shin offered helpfully with a weak smile. “The actions of some don’t reflect the views of this shop. Hope you’re alright. We can see to any cuts or bruises over—”
The man slapped his hand away with a glare. “Mutie.”
“…” Shin kept up the smile. “I can assure you, none of us want a fight here, so if you’ll please just come with me, we can get this all sorted out, and…” He offered his hand again.
“Don’t want you help.” The man muttered with the grimace of a martyr, struggling back to his feet on his own. He tossed a piece of wood back onto the broken pile that had been a table. A spot of red shone on the side of one arm.
“Dominic, go get me a medical kit… We have to see to his injuries…”
“I already said I don’t want help from some mutant!” The man spat stubbornly.
“But obviously, you need it.” Shin replied coldly, head turning to search for Ghost or Sam. If this turned into a scene… “Please, just relax, will you?”
"Thank you for your support." Didn't quite cover it, but she threw it out there anyway. Ghost was shaking Kaz's hand, thankful for a reason to keep moving around the store and keep her mind occupied. "I hope you approve. If you don't...?" She shrugged. "At this point it's a little late for that." Ghost grinned. She didn't blame him for not bringing Demi. Ghost wouldn't trust a drake in public either. People were too interesting for a creature not to be interested in.
"I'm fine.... Really." Or at least, maybe after she sat down for a moment she would be. Ghost knew the first day would be... interesting. She just never guessed how interesting. The protestors, she could not mind. Even once some made it into the store, she tried to give them no hold on her heart. That was easy considering how full and rocky it felt. There just wasn't room for much else right now.
Others were not having as much success. And as Ghost bid Kaz adieu to perhaps help Luke manage this peaceful protest... oh dear.
No one stopped Dominic because... well, no one thought he'd actually do it. At least, Ghost never thought it would play out like this. The table broke. A careful display, she'd set up herself. The kid's nose was bloody, his eye already swelling and he refused Shin's immediate help all while Ghost stood indecisively poised. What could be done?
Dominic trotted past, perhaps at Shin's bidding, and returned with the emergency medical kit. Ghost followed not more than a breath behind him. As soon as the first aid box had passed hands, Ghost displayed her best mother-catching-the-son-who-just-broke-the-TV voice. "Dominic." Her aim wasn't to make him cry in public, but the least he could do was cringe. The smile on her face in no way echoed the ice in her veins. "My office. Now."
She huffed a short sigh expelling as much negativity as she could in one go. She could do this. She could do this because she wasn't alone. "Luke, Shin... I trust you can help this young man." The young man in question spit on her shoe. Delightful. Ghost motioned for the stock assistant to come help pick up the mess from the broken table. The books weren't all ruined, but the ones with blood on them were lost. In regards to Dominic, it was time for tough love.
Speaking of... Ghost looked around fast to try to catch Sam's eye. 'No.' She said as loudly with her eyes as she did with the shake of her head. 'I need you out here. Let me handle Dominic.' Because the last thing she needed was Sam punching out his little brother on syndicated television. Oh dear... what would the press do with this?
The girl that had stood behind Sara a moment ago when she was experiencing imence pain came up to her and Shin, and Sara nodded to her in greating.
“That tail is some troublemaker, Name is Alexandra, by the way.”
Sara’s nose gained another shade of pink, again. “Yeah, well it could have been worst. Call my Sara.” She introduced herself, again, and was surprised a little when a hand was offered right to her. She took it lightly in her own paw like hand, careful to make her claws stay in while she shook Alexandra’s hand.
Well it seemed Sara was meeting a couple of new people today. What a wonderful way to meet people. Get your tail stuck in a revolving door. Yup. That was a first impression she wasn’t going to live down any time soon. At least people weren’t rubbing her nose in it too much.
"Sara, you might consider wrapping your tail around your waist or taping it down. If you're not careful, it could get you into some serious trouble, Again."
Well that last thought came entirely too soon, didn’t it now. Sara’s lips pressed together as her amber gaze shifted over to Kaz. Forget her nose only changing shades. It was turning very dark now. And the words of Sam, at the counter, hadn’t been missed by her ears. Did she really get into that much trouble? “Oh good plan. Take away part of my balance. With my luck I’d fall on my face.. .. ..” Sara actually used her tail a lot for balance. Even just standing still it normally moved back and forth to counter her shifting weight. “Or have I’d patches of fur missing from my tail as if I’d done a really bad wax job.”
The clapping of the protesters entering the store, and the white cross drew her attention. Her chin dipped so her longer hair fell over the side of her face, like a hood. “I suppose them coming in, is my fault.” Sara said softly as she watched Luke make his way over there, along with the young man who had been standing near Sam. With out thinking she began making her way slowly over incase crap hit the fan. Luke would be right in the middle. Though it seemed the younger man who had been standing by the counter had to throw the first punch. Or rather the first set of punches.
Sara’s head tilted. That was interesting. The kid wasn’t that bad at throwing punches, but his timing, and short temper lead made Sara’s mind jump to her first conclusion about him. “Idiot.” Sara mumbled. Shooting the kid a glare that might of included her eyes reflecting the light from the windows as if they could glow.
Vega and Shin started taking control, and Sara slipped in through the side of the shelves, knelt, and started to help the hired stock assistant pick up the books and sort through the ones that were stained, and the pits of splintered table. Careful to not look directly up into the eyes of the protesters. In fact, Sara tried to pretend they weren’t even there.
As she entered the bookstore the ghostly girl she knew from a time back took her hand and shook it. She was taken by suprise and her entire arm was being shook around by the shaking of her hand. It was weird that she ran into her again even if it was her bookstore without Cailyn knowing that. Specially since again there where people who protested against mutants. Atleast she picked something like that up from the minds of some people sitting around in a corner somewhere.
The not so blind person talked to them and they seemed to dislike him allot. He however remained calm and Cailyn found it strange. She took back her hand and moved behind him looking at him with a tilted head. He did something strange but she didn't know what. Then all of the sudden a fight broke out.
The doorman was fighting a protestor. Violence always scared Cailyn and she eeped at the sight of it. She planted herself against a bookcase and dropped herself down on the floor to protect herself if needed. The fight was over rather quickly but the protesters outside weren't all to happy. The protester who needed help wasn't to happy either. Somebody wanted to help him but he didn't agree with the help he was about to receive. Cailyns whispers doomed down upon her with all the comotion that was in the bookstore. She clinched her head and her song filled the room. She just wanted everybody to calm down and leave her alone while she could pick herself up. Seemingly her powers listened for once and she started making people more relaxed and less hatefull towards each other. Ofcourse people would soon notice that they where being influenced but it would atleast bring some peace and quietness for a while.
