The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"My dad told me that riddle when I was ten. The answer's a river." Aurum proudly announced. "You're pretty good with riddles, though. I'm sure you can find another one that'd stump me."
"very good." She said to the young man. She started to think up another one she had heard somewhere, or maybe she made it up herself who knows. A tought one for the common man it would be but not for the uncommon girl sitting there thinking up a riddle. There is was and there it wil be she said the riddle to the young man.
"Pronounced as one letter, And written with three, Two letters there are, And two only in me. I'm double, I'm single, I'm black, blue, and gray, I'm read from both ends, And the same either way. What am I?"
This would be a tough one indeed. Not something to figure out by just reading it and thinking it over. You would have to get the way the riddle was said and see the clues it gave. Maybe he could solve it, maybe he couldn't. She was going to find out either way.

Aurum thought for a minute, turning the words over in his head. What was one word with a single syllable and could stand for multiple things? Hrm... well, leg was singular. That wouldn't work. Nor would ear, or hat. It took him a moment to remember the third line of the riddle. "Hrm... only two letters throughout the entire thing. I guess..." He held his chin, drifting off in thought. What could it be? Eye wouldn't work, because it couldn't be both singular and plural. Sure, it worked if one assumed the left and the right, but...
Cailyn totally mistook that as eye. "Very good." She said and patted the young man who was obviously stumped out of his mind that he had the correct answer. Strangly enough this Aurum person was pretty good at riddles as wel. A worthy opponent sort of speak. To bad that in a game of checkers or chess or any other game for that matter Cailyn always won. Just because she knew what the opponents plan was. That and the whispers making her game pretty radical for people to understand.
She pondered for a while and said: "As I went across the bridge, I met a man with a load of wood which was neither straight nor crooked. What kind of wood was it? " She turned her head towards aurum and looked at him for the answer. These types of riddles where fun aswel. They weren't the what am i kind but the story type of riddles. This was going to be a interresting riddle battle between to the two of them. How long will both of them hold up against each other. Or how long will it take for one of them to go home for some reason.

Aurum blinked for a moment after she told him he was correct. Strange. He hadn't had a clue. And wait, it had been 'eye'? That... seemed oddly out of place. He shrugged and glanced at his watch. The white-gloved minute hand of the mouse swung around to point upwards. He casually flipped through his schedule in his mind. Today, he was supposed to help out with cooking at his family's restaurant. He'd been studying the recipes for various pastas all week. He placed a stealthy hand over his watch and smiled at Cailyn. One more riddle, and then he'd go.
She was all-too happy to oblige. Aurum nodded as she spoke. A type of wood neither straight, nor crooked... often times people chopped wood up into chips for use in playground settings, but this... hrm... if it wasn't straight or crooked, then maybe it was whatever wood was left behind. The image of a saw whirred in his mind.
"If it isn't straight or crooked, it'd have to be sawdust. I know of no other wood element that lacks those defining features. Am I right?" He waited a moment for her answer, patiently sipping his drink. With a final tip back, he finished it. He picked up a napkin and wiped the table, then rose. "And that's all the time I have today. Thanks for this, Cailyn. It was fun. Maybe some other time? If you're ever down town and want a good bowl of pasta." He snuck a hand into his coat pocket and pulled out a business card for The Golden Bee restaurant from his wallet. On the back of the card, a coupon was printed. "Check in there. That'll get you half-off a spaghetti. Now, if you'll excuse me."
Aurum turned to glance at the shopkeeper working the counter of the coffee bar, then walked over to speak. "Do you have any applications?"
Shin nodded and reached under the counter, searching a moment, then popped back up. He held out a piece of thick paper for the man to take.
"Thanks." Aurum took it. As he made his way towards the door, he scooped up a book from one of the shelves and set it down on the counter in front of Sam. It was a copy of So Many Dynamos, a book of palindromes. The book got rung up, then Aurum walked out the door.
