The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The day had finally come. The news team was outside and Ghost was holding it together... kind of.
"Shin! Did the catering arrive? Do we have croissants yet? We can't open the coffee bar with no croissants!" She pulled at and tried to re-flatten her hair before remembering that it was supposed to be curled before she was off to the next thing on her clipboard. She shouldn't have chosen her birthday for the Grand Opening. It was too soon a date, she was sure. Oh, but it had seemed like such a good idea! If anything, Ghost figured she could guilt her Mansion friends into coming to the Full Circle to see her on her birthday because that was where she would be.
Oh goodness! She breathed and started slipping the promotion tags into the holders attached to the tops of the book shelves labeling the different sections. She should have done this sooner. She should have done a lot of things sooner! At least the new carpet was in and vacuumed. That had happened only yesterday, but it was all here! Even the cappuccino maker!
"Did someone move the boxes from in front of the emergency exit? 'Cause we have..." she squeaked as she read her watch, "TWO MINUTES!" Ghost smoothed her skirt, a fashionable brown and khaki herringbone pencil, and re-tucked her plain blue button up. She had to be presentable for the actual opening of the doors shot for the cameras.
"Are you ready? Too bad, 'cause I'm unlocking the doors! Remember not to uhm... be obvious on camera." She tried once again to re-smooth her hair and got her fingers caught in the curls. Mentally berating herself for forgetting already, Ghost slipped the last sign into place and looked around. It was a little slap shod, but it was done. 9am March 25th 2009 had sure rolled around fast.
Ghost smoothed and re-smoothed her skirt before making her way to the door and turning the lock on the revolving door this place was so famous for.
The news anchor and camera crew made their way through the handicapped entrance and set up a sweeping shot of the revolving door and the archway of books that greeted the first trickle of staged friends and/or customers. Ghost shook their hands in front of the press and then left them to take in the sights. The camera panned around to the movable book racks, shiny and new just like the soothing sage green tile floor and the new stock of books that reached clear to the ceiling along the walls.
Ghost classed things up a bit by changing out the light fixtures, refinishing, refurbishing, and reorganizing, but with generous financial backers like Kaz and Luke Jacobs she felt that the updates were justified. Especially the cappuccino machine. The coffee bar area had been especially sad, but now health code approved, licensed to serve drinks and snacks, Ghost hoped people would come to the Full Circle for more than just a quick buy. She wanted this to be a safe place for people to visit or just hang out. Safe and neutral as Switzerland. She briefly considered printing up some bookmarks that said that... ah but she was getting carried away again.
Proud and fit to burst, Ghost beamed at the camera woman who was back for the store opening.
"What was once the site of a tragic accident, is now the site of relaxation and reading. Vega Altair, proud owner and operator of the Full Circle bookstore, has really turned this lemon into lemonade. Vega, you are still recovering from your gun shot wound, how in the world did you manage to open this store?"
The angle of the story made for a good spot, but it did irk Ghost just a little that they insisted on lessening the incident from full on hateful mob to tragic accident. The anchor always seemed eager to mention the gunshot wounds too. Ah well. Hopefully it was an interesting enough human interest story to get her on the evening news this time. It would be good publicity any way it ran, though.
"A lot of help, love, and the support of my friends. It wasn't easy, but I am really proud of how things turned out."
"Considering this store's history, do you have any specific plans?"
"I'm so glad you asked, actually. It's my intention that the Full Circle be a place that is safe and neutral territory as it were for mutants and humans alike. It goes without saying that fighting verbal, physical, or mutation related will not be permitted. With the generous help of Jacobs & Jacobs, security has been upgraded and hopefully the mutant community will abide by the Switzerland stance this store is taking."
The interview continued covering the upgrades the store had undergone and the community response so far which was all very positive in Ghost's opinion. The camera filmed the store in all its booky glory and finally, finally Ghost opened the doors for real. She hoped everyone at the mansion had gotten the invitations she'd slipped under their doors. She also hoped that Luke and Kaz had gotten their voicemail invitations.
After waving goodbye to the press, Ghost grabbed a green canvas apron and tied it over her interview clothes. She had a store to run.

The wonder of books wasn’t the magic they produced or how they could take some one on a long journey through other worlds littered with mythical beasts and adventures. The true wonder was how heavy they can be when they sat in a box. He really couldn’t think of that many gifts to get for Ghost on her birthday so he decided to spend the day with her, helping her with her store free of charge. Now standing at the register waiting for Ghost to open the story he looked down at the one thing he figured she would get a kick out of. A package in green wrapping paper with a bright yellow bow sat under the counter with the tag saying “To Ghost, From Sam” he figured he would give her the gift once the businesses day was over.
Despite Ghost’s current emotions flying all over the place Sam was relatively cool when she yelled about the boxes and when they were opening. That was Sam’s cue removing himself from the old style circular counter and the register, as he approached the boxes that were still full with books he let out a loud grunt as he and a two ice golems picked up the boxes and moved them into the storage area, “Hopefully, we won't run out of any books…” Sam said as he made his way back to the register. “DOM!” called Sam addressing his brother who he had dragged along to help. “Put that apron on!” Sam yelled as he put his green apron on with the stores logo on it.
He would have preferred to work the counter where the coffee machines were and where the coffee was. Unfortunately Ghost had asked Sam to work register and despite his hatred for numbers, Ghost had asked him and well seeing the day was about Ghost he couldn’t refuse. Looking around he saw Ghost hectically open the door and talk to the reporters. During this time Sam said to his brother, “This day is about Ghost, she asks you to do something do it with out any complaints got it?” Sam asked his brother in a scolding tone glad that he was getting more comfortable with the big brother gig.
Glad that he had brought his brother along he was even more glad that Shin was there to help, from the way Ghost asked him he could only assume Shin was in charge of the foods and drinks. Looking at the old register in front of him he took a metal photograph of where all the buttons on the thing was so he would be able to keep the line of customers down.
Speaking of which he grinned and waited for the boss to return into the store with her apron on, “Show time…” he said with a sly grin as the anticipation started to build, this register was his and he was ready to own it, no line to long would form for Sam the number master would be working the register!
...and then he started forward with a cry of joy and wonder, for lying on the couch below the narrow window he saw the Princess. She was lying upon a couch with her lovely hair spread out like a stream of gold; and, oh! no words can tell how beautiful she was. Softly the Prince came near and bent over her. He touched her hand; it was warm as in life, but she did not stir. No sound of breathing came from her parted lips, fresh and sweet as the petals of a rose; her eyes were closed. For a long time the Prince stood and gazed upon her, for never in all his life had he seen a maiden so lovely. Then suddenly he bent down and kissed her lips....
“DOM!”
"HUH?!" Dominic jumped hearing his brother's voice boom and he scrambled to put the book of classic fairy tales he had been reading behind his back and as he pretended to lean against the shelf so he could slip the book back onto it.
“Put that apron on!” Sam yelled as he put his green apron on with the stores logo on it.
"Yes sir..." Dominic sighed heavily and reached for the green apron to wear. As he tied the know of the apron strings, Dominic shook his head at his position. Sam had been yelling at him and Ghost had been running about like a chicken with her head cut off barking orders the whole time as well. While he would much rather be back at the mansion taking a cat nap next to Sam's cat Cammie, he had been dragged along to help with the bookstore opening, which he didn't really mind because he really liked Ghost and was more than happy to help her out on her big day, which was also her birthday. Plus it was a book store and Dominic loved to read and escaped the hell that was known as reality.
“This day is about Ghost, she asks you to do something do it with out any complaints got it?” Sam asked his brother in a scolding tone.
"Yes sir." Dominic simply replied not bothering to even ask why Sam was yelling at him. He did it so often, Dominic had gotten used to it and did everything Sam asked of him since he doubled as Dominic's older brother and parental guardian. Shin had been in charge of the refreshments and Sam was working the register..."pfftt" Dominic couldn't help but chuckled as he watched Sam walk over to the said register knowing how much Sam hated math. He didn't know what exactly Ghost had planned for him to do, but until orders were given, Dominic merely walked back over to the bookshelf and pulled another random title from it to read.

Luke had been dropped off by one of the company vehicles approximately two blocks away from the new and improved Full Circle Bookstore. This game him plenty of time to walk toward it and get a good idea of how things were progressing. While there were a couple of protesters across the street from the bookstore, for the most part things seemed pretty quiet and that was exactly how he was hoping things would stay.
"Mr. Jacobs! Mr. Jacobs!" A voice called out as he neared the store. Suddenly a reporter and her camera crew were in his face, wanting to get an additional sound-byte for their interview and broadcast. After an introduction that was almost shouted at him, the young woman got right down to business. "Your attendance at such a small function is something out of the ordinary Mr. Jacobs. Is this a sign that you are setting out to support the mutant community?"
"This is a sign that I'm out to support anyone, human or mutant, that wishes to have an establishment that welcomes everyone in peace. Out there on the streets and across the world we see more than enough hatred and killed and even this place was once marred by the same thing. But thanks to the efforts and hard work of a very dedicated young woman, something positive is coming out that tragedy. Miss Vega has my most sincere admiration and there was no way I could miss something as important as her store opening." Luke replied as he paused for a moment, his hidden eyes looking in the reporter's general direction without actually fastening on her.
"But are you a mutant supporter Mr. Jacobs?"
"I'm a peace supporter." Luke put it simply, "Have a good day."
With a quick nod and smile at the reporter Luke walked past them, his cane tapping away as he made his way to the signature revolving doors. Moving inside along with a few customers that were going in to shop, Luke stepped to the side, his sonar sweeping over the area as he took a moment to appreciate everything that Ghost had done to upgrade the shop.
And there was the woman of the hour. It seemed that Miss Vega was busy with customers and the work that went along with running a successful business so Luke decided he didn't need to bother he for the moment. Besides, his sonar ensured that she would know he had arrived.
Bringing his sonar back in so that it was much closer to his body, and no longer a distraction for Ghost, Luke made his way over toward the register and one of the new employees that he recognized from some other, very different activities.
"If I had known you were looking for a job I would have hired you a long time ago, Sam." The blind man said with a grin as he walked over to where the ice manipulator was manning one of the registers, "But then again, I guess an offer from Vega is much better than anything I could throw at you."
Cailyn was out on the town today. She passed some streets she was familiar with. She had been here before but it was all cloudy. That was mostly when she used her powers somewhere and she tries to recall those moments. She pondered for a while what she did around these parts but it went blank as if she wasn't meant to know.
Cailyn passed a man who was being intervieuwed by reporters. Well she realized it when she skipped by him behind his back to eventually find out he was on tv. She appeared back behind the man as he gave a interview and she tilted her head at the camera. So that was a camera, she had never seen a real one before. Well she didn't count the security camera's at the sanctuary. She examined them, moving around a bit. Luckely she didn't bother the people since they simply continued. When the people where done the man with the cane passed on into a bookstore.
The man went through the revolving doors of the store. That seemed fun and when the man was through she entered the doors. She didn't exit them though, she continued to spin and spin and spin, seeing people inside and outside. They would probably find her strange, though it wasn't a lie. She simply was strange to the normal world.

“Yeah, hold on.” Shin muttered, setting a bunch of boxes down in a store room. He dusted his hands and admired his afternoon’s work. Where once had been an empty space, now there lay several boxes of bread from the caterers. He glanced at the bar counter through the doorway, where the last box rested ready and waiting for the rush of customers, then spun his attention to a nearby hook. Snagging the Kelly green apron off the hanging, he pulled it over his head and tugged the strings around back into a tight knot. A white shirt showed underneath the apron, and black slacks finished off the professional look.
There! The logo of Full Circle was on his chest, and the finishing touches were complete. He slipped out the doorway and stood behind the counter as Ghost finished her interview, clapping his hands. The new coffee machine shone brightly behind him, ready to serve, and he stood with it…
Also ready to serve.
As the first few customers spilled in through the revolving doors, he busied himself looking over the register and making sure he knew where everything was. It was the same type of machine he’d worked with in his days as a grocery boy back in Japan working in a neighbor’s store. There was nothing too out of the ordinary here. Buttons to push buttons, a little sliding rack of dollar bills. The rack slid in with a ‘ding!’ as he looked up at the first customer.
“I’ll take… one croissant and a… mocha, please.” The customer raised a finger up to the menu hanging behind Shin’s back. Shin turned, glanced at it, and said ‘sure thing’. The order practically whipped itself up as he filled the cup with coffee, snagged and bagged a roll. “That’ll be…” He rattled off the price. Cash passed between them and the customer walked off with the bag. The register door slid closed again, ‘ding!’
And that’s when he noticed the ever-spinning revolving doors. Round and round they went, like those plates circus performers balance on sticks. A faintly familiar face blurred by the glass.
“Hey, Ghost…” He didn’t want to interrupt Ghost right now, but… “Think we should do something about the poltergeist caught in our entrance?”
Sara was currently making her way to the new and improved Full Circle Book Store. Sara hadn’t been around the mansion long enough to really get to know the owner of the book store, but every one else had seemed to talk well about her. She wouldn’t of been able to know of this opening if she hadn’t been staying at the mansion for the past few weeks, in one of the dorms.
Oh yeah. And she had gotten her sight back. Sort of. It was strange. If Sara looked at light that was too bright, the pupils in her eyes wanted to contract completely. Leaving her blind again. However Sara not longer defined that condition as completely blind. She was gaining another sense when her eye sight was gone, and she didn’t know what to think of it yet. For that reason, Sara had added a pair of sun glasses to her usual ensemble of nice smooth tank top, and simple pants. A long coat covered her shoulders and most of her body, but she wasn’t working hard on hiding today, so she left the hood down and her tail poked out the hem at the bottom. She also still walked with the long white cane.
The crowd of people gave her a wide birth as she made her way to the front of the store, where a girl was walking in circles repeatedly. Sara met this girl once before, at the park and Sara found her fascinating for reasons the feline couldn’t quite comprehend for herself. Sara slipped inside the section that Hymn was in, pushing the door, and walked around with her for once or twice around. “Don’t you want to go inside?” Sara asked tapping Hymn lightly on the elbow, It was about the second time they were going around that Sara’s tail flicked a little too far to the right and outside the revolving door without the rest of Sara’s body following and it got stuck.
“AHHCHE!” Sara’s breath stuck in her throat and she spun around to see the tip of her tail flailing wildly inside the store, while technically she was still on the outside. “Stop. PLEASE stop!” Sara said pressing her hand against the other side of the section. Sara gave a tug on her tail, witch was a bad idea since the tip was still wildly wriggling like a furry worm stuck on a hook. The thing with revolving doors is they don’t stop right away when you start slowing them. So the tail was slid deeper between the edge of the door and the round revolving case. Then the door was stuck…
Just as it was at the ball, there seemed an endless number of hands to shake. So many proud mutants or mutant supporters, some trying to get a feel for the new face in the pro-mutant community. They didn't seem to get that she wanted it to be pro-everyone, but in time they would... hopefully.
There was one man with horrible thinning red hair that seemed to shake her hand for longer than was polite.
"You don't... know who I am do you?" He seemed thoroughly amused. "I have only been state-side for a year or so... I'm sorry you aren't familiar to me, I'm--" "--Maya, I know."
Ghost blinked. She introduced herself as Vega. Always Vega or Ghost. There were only three people she could name who she was comfortable calling her by her birth name and this stranger was not one of them. Ghost tightened her grip on the man's hand and pulled him to the side of the store waving to Luke as she passed his tingly sonar.
"I think you'd make a great addition to my newest show. The Apprentice, Small Business. You've got a killer instinct with all that honesty business and a real believable face." He pulled out a cigar and to Ghost's widening eyes, started to get out a match. As soon as it was lit she snuffed it, grabbed the cigar from his mouth and broke it in half.
"There is no smoking." She hesitated surprised by her own brashness and added "Sir." The fire had just surprised her so much. Ghost noticed there was spanish on the foil band around the cigar. Oh dear god. Hopefully that wasn't a cuban. She handed the remnants of the cigar back to the man hastily.
Donald Trump blinked surprised and then chuckled a good hearty belly laugh that rolled throughout the store. "Not afraid of anyone, are you? I like your moxy, Kid. I'll have my people call your people."
Still unsure of what exactly just happened, Ghost stepped out from behind the Romance literature scratching her head. That's when Shin directed her attention to the revolving door which went around and around and then suddenly stopped with a horrible noise coming from the cat woman inside.
Ghost trotted over to quash this newest fire. There was a safety release somewhere. She hovered around until she found the reserve direction switch and pushed at the doors. "Everyone okay in there?"
The flight to the city had been delayed. He had finalized every detail to ensure that he returned on Maya's birthday. A small bundle of silk rested in his lap as the car from the airport stepped on it to reach the bookstore's reopening. He could only admire her for her stubborn love of humanity. Only a heart as big as Maya's could turn near death at the hands of humans into a good thing. She was more than likely his only chance for any sort of redemption in that area. Without her honey brown eyes and the gentle whispering breeze of her voice to guide him away from hatred, he would probably ramp up his efforts to purge the species or dominate them.
He suspected she would be quite happy with the thoughtfulness and time he had put into the gift he had brought. Multiple scenarios of teary smiling and gratitude had been played out in his head on the way there. What could possibly be a better gift? The car rolled to an easy stop near the bookstore. Garrett didn't like to make grand entrances. It was always best to survey the scene and take note of possible threats first. This was the way that humans had made him think with their ignorance and hate. It was also a byproduct of his gifts, as Garrett's version of a preemptive strike was a handshake.
Carrying the neatly folded bundle of white silk, he made his way to the edge of the store's perimeter. Glancing through the windows among other onlookers and prospective clients, he gazed over the mutant presence inside. He knew that her vision was one of neutrality, making the bookstore a place for mutants and humans alike to mingle without the threat of violence. The tone was understandable. The delivery? Meh. It was just one of those hopeful gestures that endeared him to the sylph. Two faces appeared in the mix that were quite familiar to him. Sam and Luke. A sardonic grin crept over his mouth like a snake as he was prepared to gently push the envelope.
The feral sound of pain pierced the store's front. Many jumped back in fear on the street. They were probably sensitive to the store's history and feared another uprising. Moving toward the revolving doors which served as an analogy for the room behind the portal, Garrett could see that it was a large feline mutant, whose tail was firmly wrung into the doors. A flash of white signaled Maya's presence, which sent a shiver of anticipation through his spine. Smiling, he waited on the other side of the doors as he watched her gentle demeanor in motion. The gift waited patiently.

Customers stared to enter the store as the smell of fresh coffee filled the air, but unfortunately for Sam the coffee was going to have to wait till the day was over or when he had a break, if he had a break. Sam had never discussed with Ghost the terms of his working for her, he didn’t ask for pay and seeing as Sam did some promoting, he figured the odds of the bookstore being empty on opening day was slim to none. Flyers, posters and a few drops on the more popular radio stations not to mention the bumper sticker on his car, he figured that the store would be pretty busy and unless Dom covered for him he wouldn’t have any down time anytime soon.
Letting out a laugh as Luke approached him and spoke Sam smiled and let out a small wave as he spoke, “If I was working for you I probably would have had been the one that was set on fire instead of Sara,” letting out a grin Sam smiled and said, “You know you just have to ask and I’ll help you out with whatever you need.” Clicking a few buttons on the register as a practice run Sam smiled to Luke and continued, “Wouldn’t mind getting another job if your offering, and as of right now I am only doing this as a favor for Ghost and as a birthday present.”
Hearing a loud roar from a familiar voice Sam’s head perked to the door his hand shot up ready to fire an ice blast at what ever was ruining the opening day of the bookstore. Lowering his hand because he suddenly remembered that Ghost had asked Sam specifically not to use any powers what so ever. “Speaking of the Cat…” Sam smiled as he pointed to Sara who’s tail was stuck in the revolving door. “Dom go help her out!” Sam ordered as he looked back to Luke and said, “So Mr. Jacobs, are you a mutant supporter?” he asked as he let out a small grin for he heard the interview with Ghost and Luke.
The shop was abundant with people and it seemed that Shin and Sam had their hands filled with customers. The coffee and pastries smelled delicious and was starting to tease Dominic's nose and his tummy. Having been dragged here by Sam, the poor kid didn't get to have any kind of breakfast. Nor did he have money to purchase any of the store's little cafe offerings. "Cat stealth time!" Dominic said crouching on all fours and started around the bookcase towards the cafe...
>>> “Dom go help her out!” Sam ordered.
"Freaking really!?" Dominic shouted in his head and paused in his movements as he heard Sam's demand. Letting out an irritated harsh sigh, the young animal mutant hopped back to his feet and looked over in the direction Sam indicated. There was some kind of cat lady? Her tail was stuck in the door. "Well what am I supposed to do?" Dominic asked himself as he made his way over to the door. He couldn't help but snicker. This poor lady's tail was stuck in there pretty good and had jammed the door. Crowds of people on the outside complaining about not being able to enter while leaving customers could not exit. Definitely not a good thing. "And I don't have any super strong animals in my little DNA pocket....and Ghost said not to use powers anyway...." the teen said putting a hand to his chin as he thought about a solution to this problem.
"..." Dominic blinked and gave a 'whatever' shrug. He didn't have to do anything at all thanks to Ghost and so Dominic headed back over towards Sam's counter. "I didn't have to do anything. Ghost handled it." he said to his brother and waved to Luke as well. "Um...I'm kind of hungry, you think I can go get a bite? The cappuccinos and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies are good." he said to Sam.
Alexandra watched her manicured nails as the cab drove trough the busy New York streets. She sighed out of boredom and her eyes shifted to the invitation in her other hand. An invitation to the Full Circle Bookstore, one that she found laying on the floor earlier. She didn’t know much about it, only that it was owned by one of the mansion residents, Ghost, the girl she met in the infirmary not long time ago.
While the spring has given her many opportunities for filming, today she decided to take a small break from her spying activity, and fortunately a bookstore seemed perfect for relaxing. Since her powers were so connected with the knowledge of biology, chemistry and physics, a few books added to her collection were greatly appreciated. Sure, she could have taken the books she had in her apartment or study in the mansion library but none of these options seemed fun.
The cab slowed down to a stop, not far away from the bookstore and Alexandra listened the driver’s instructions on how to get there. Paying, Alexandra opened the door and looked around her. This was a part of New York she didn’t have the chance to know until now. Following the instructions she received earlier, it didn’t take more than 2 or maybe 3 minutes to get there.
Just in time to hear someone crying out in pain. Her eyes followed the direction of the sound and her eyebrow rose as she sighted the cat woman’s tail stuck in the revolving doors. It could have been considered an amusing situation if the scene would have taken place in a comedy movie. But it was plain reality and besides the fact that people were getting annoyed because of the stuck door, nothing was done to actually unstuck it. Or at least nothing she could see.
Her pace quickened, the blue color of Alexandra’s contact lenses changed to a darker shade as her eyes examined the doors. They didn’t seem too hard to manipulate. Hopefully, it was as easy as it seemed. Her feet stopped moving when she got next to the trapped mutant and her eyes and powers focused on loosening up the molecular cohesion of the material the door was made from. To human eye, nothing seemed to change, but what she did was kind of liquefy the metal so the cat woman could pull her tail away.
Her eyes turned to the troubled mutant, hoping that she would feel this and hoping that what she did worked. Manipulating inorganic material so close to human tissues was not the easiest thing to do.

((ooc- I assumed one of those many attempted rescues was going to work))
After getting up – he really did not know what time it was, today even the watches and clocks seemed determined to not tell him their little secret- He had the most interesting feeling. He was waking up in a new city. Not City silly, its your home now. Is not Hamburg, nor the Channels, but it'll have to do anyways he had told himself. It would do. But he did not know much about it yet. So he decided on ding some exploration of foreign worlds today. (Or tonight? No it could not be night, the sun was still up) And as he had found the best way to get to know a new home was to go wandering in the floors, he was now walking in the streets. Aimlessly being driven by the crowd would hopefully take him to interesting places to see. To live anew. So he was wandering through the new parts of home.
Being dressed in casual grey today, without even a hint of color, he was blending in quite nicely with the concrete of the skyscrapers, though some were made of glass, reflecting light of them, looking like gigantic lightbulbs or prisms. Others, the older ones it seemed, were made of bricks, which made him smile. People did not use bricks here often it seemed to him and they were a refreshing sight.
Lost in thoughts of home he did not even notice, where he went as he was being pushed along. The faint sound of screaming finally broke through to him and shattered his concentration. As the crowd had dwindled and those that still remained were standing around some revolving doors watching a person who was obviously trapped inside his fists clenched. But suddenly the doors started turning again.
What was the place that attracted such a crowd? He decided on having a look, so he went for the doors and was suddenly in the middle of a bookstore. Ad there were so many people rushing around. He carefully placed his gloved hands in his pockets, before going on to find a more secluded place, which in his case was across from the bar, where he found two people talking. They very much looked like siblings to him.
Sara hadn’t even realized she cried out in her pain till the dry throat of hers was able to be felt over the screaming nerves in her tail. Witch mush sound very silly to the normal person, but lets put the end of a normal person’s spine in a vise and see how they react. They probably won’t even realize they’re screaming either.
The cry was short lived and Sara sucked in the air, to hold her breath. Hating the fact that she’d cried out as much as the fact her tail was in pain. It made more people look straight at her, and with a quick glance over her shoulder she saw norms flashing pictures and gasping and pointing and doing all the things norms do when they see a cat get their tail stuck. Including laughing. The fleshy area of Sara’s nose darkened, from the pail tone it normally held, to a deep red in her blushing embarrassment.
Sara’s attention moved back inside the bookstore where she could make out Sam and Luke and someone who looked a lot like Sam. He approached the door and Sara tilted her head looking straight in his eyes. Why did he look familiar to her?
There was a nicely dressed lady who had just come to mess with the door, and Sara had to stifle another yelp of pain as the door started to reverse causing the damage to her tail to shift. Her eyes shot back to over her shoulder and there where two more people standing there that she just didn’t know, that made her heart speed up. Oh coming here had been a bad idea. Then there was an odd sensation around her tail.
The door didn’t feel nearly as sharp as it had and with a little biting of her lower lip, Sara wedged her fingers next to the door frame and slid her tail free. A tail that was now wrinkled. Sara gingerly straightened the part that was bent and there was a pop and a crack, that made her wince before everything started feeling better. She carefully put a hand on the hymning girl’s shoulder who she had intended on rescuing herself before she needed rescuing, and guided both of them the rest of the way inside.
“Thank you. And thanks to who ever loosened the door.” That had to be a mutant. Metal doors don’t just loosen on their own. “Ahh, Sorry about the scene.. .. .. And the noise. The fleshy area around Sara’s nose had been lighting up but dove straight in to it’s dark red tone again.

The yowl that sounded fromt he doorway momentarily distracted Luke's attention away from Sam but once he was sure that several of the others were over helping his feline friend, Luke leaned against the end of the counter in such a position so that he could continue talking to Sam without getting in the way of any customers.
"I'm a mutant supporter when it comes to the right kind of mutants." He said with a slight grin, "Just like I'm a human supporter of the right kind of humans. In fact, I'm pretty sure my beliefs are right along the same line as yours."
Right then a young man that Luke had meant once before approached the counter from the direction of the door. "Hey Dominic. Nice to meet up with you again. I told you that we'd probably bump into each other someplace."
For the moment, Luke was still doing his best to keep his sonar so that it was low power and only scanning arcs that were away from Ghost and Sara. He knew that both of them were affected by his ability and he really didn't want to be causing any sorts of problems on Ghost's big day.
"And what's the house specialty Sam?" Luke asked with a mischevous smile as he turned his head back around to face the ice-mancer once more, "I guess if I invested in this place I better sample some of its wares."
