The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Despite the Chaos, things seemed to be mellowing back down again. Sara had heard a strange humm in the air, and if felt like the sound washed over her body, making her tight nervous muscles relax. Her wide amber eyes slanted down again, rather than repeatedly darting up to look at individuals she didn’t even know, and she concentrated on the work she started with picking up Dominic’s mess. Only glancing lightly behind her when her ears flicked back, listening to Alexandra approach her and the store employee from behind.
Alexandra did this really cool trick with the table, to put it back together, and it clicked in Sara’s head. “Were you the one who manipulated the door?” Sara grabbed her tail, that had healed enough that the dull ache was hardly noticeable, as long as she kept herself busy. But the fur where the door had crushed it, was still looking ragged. “Thank you.” She forgot about the books for a moment as she curiously leaned forward investigating the table. Her fingers traced the grains of the wood where they started, and then where they didn’t line up right before she started sorting out the books that looked clean, and didn’t carry the smell of blood. Covering the blemish in the once broken table. Sort of like sweeping dust under the rug. There. Good as new.
“Can you hold the blood splattered books up? I think I can remove it.”
The book store employee paled at the thought of holding an object up for a mutant to work on. Maybe it went with the hole idea of putting an apple on your head from someone to fire an arrow threw. Sara just glanced at the employee, then nodded and obediently held up the book.
“Huhh” her eyes skimmed the cover and the description on the back, as she held it up. It was a book discussing Myths and cultural beliefs from different civilizations. Egypt, Roam, Mesopotamia. Sara’s mind jumped to the trip she had recently taken for slate, as she read on.

"Thirsty?"
"You know, before the protestors slipped in I was just about to order something." Luke replied with a slight chuckle as he moved to follow Shin over to the counter. Now that things had calmed down, Luke was beginning to notice everyone that had arrived. Alexandra was apparently trying to repair some of the damage that had been done to Ghost's inventory and it looked like Sara was helping by holding up one of the books.
"She seems to be adapting well." He thought to himself before he mind suddenly focused on what he was 'seeing'. Sara was looking at the back of the book like she could see it... like she could read it. "What the..." Could Sara see again?
Suddenly Luke was feeling very confused. It hadn't been that long before that he had worked with Sara to help her to learn how to work without her sight. He'd showed her how to use a cane and how to try and use her other senses to replace her vision. All that work earned him the right to know if she regained her sight... didn't it?
"Uh... how about a capuccino?" Luke placed his order once Shin was on one side of the counter and he was on the other. From the tone of his voice it was obvious that he was somewhat distracted but he was still doing his best to remain pleasant. "And maybe a chocolate croissant, if you have them."
A simple smile appeared on her face in response to Sara’s thanks. “Anytime.” she said as she was inspecting the wooden table with a frown. That was why she hated patterned materials so much. It never looked the same after she was altering it. She remembered the multiple times in her early start as a mutant when everything seemed so hard to manipulate, the difficulty to affect small drops of water. All those times when she said to herself to be patient, only practice makes perfect. Now looking at the reformed table, a feeling of calmness and patience washed over her. She had grown so much as a mutant and she shouldn’t have felt anything but proud about what she was doing.
“But hopefully your tail won’t get you in trouble anymore.” she added jokingly as the werecat was inspecting the table herself before arranging the books on it. However, she despised the look on the face of the store employee when she mentioned that she could fix the books if someone held them up. Geez. That’s why she didn’t like humans. A frown appeared on her face as she fixed her eyes on him. Her faintly glowing blue eyes. The man paled even more at the disapproving look and Alexandra’s glance shifted at Sara who was already holding a book up. She saw the employee leave in a hurry as soon as she had turned away from him but she didn’t pay much attention to it. She didn’t pay much attention to anything else than the crimson red liquid on the book cover.
Alexandra wasn’t planning to manipulate the blood itself, the structure being way to complex and it would have taken ages to remove it from all the books. What she did was to completely remove the water from mixture, leaving behind a brownish-red dust, while the water molecules were dissipated into the air. It was the quickest method and probably the easiest too, but it also required a good amount of concentration. She exhaled loudly when she had finished the job, it was quite strange that sometimes when she was focusing on using her powers on something she even forgot to breathe.
Her hand reached the book and her fingers brushed off the reddish brown dust with one swift move. The book cover and the title brought a small smile over her face. “Good choice.” she said looking at the book then to Sara. Strangely, Sara reminded her now of Bast and not only. One of the older theories she was keeping into her mind resurfaced. “Do you think they were mutants?” she said as she looked back at the cover where several gods from different mythologies were pictured.

“Yuck?” Aurum repeated the words like they were poison. “That was one of my favorite blends… alas. If coffee doesn’t suit your taste, maybe a cup of cocoa will? You like chocolate, right? If it’s okay with you, I’d like to buy you a cup to make up for giving you a drink that disagreed with your sense of taste. And maybe a scone…” He pushed off the floor, and let his weight rest on one knee. A hand drifted out in offering. “Do you agree?”
Behind him, an Asian returned to his job behind the counter. His mouth turned upwards into a dutiful smile. "One cappuccino, coming up. And here." A hand darted to the row of bread behind him. He tagged and bagged a chocolate croissant, then held it out for Luke.
"So, tell me. What's your favorite genre of book?" Aurum asked.
“That was one of my favorite blends… alas. If coffee doesn’t suit your taste, maybe a cup of cocoa will? You like chocolate, right? If it’s okay with you, I’d like to buy you a cup to make up for giving you a drink that disagreed with your sense of taste. And maybe a scone…”
The young man had a running mouth to say the least. Cailyn didn't understand half of what he said but chocolate was mentioned. Chocolate was mostly good, and for her it was extra good since she had 10 years of chocolate eating to catch up on. Though the man didn't mean chocolate for eating but for drinking. It was all the same though.
The young man helped her up and when she was on her feet she patted the top side of her pants. She always did that as if she was dirty but she never was. Better safe then sorry.
"So, tell me. What's your favorite genre of book?"
1 points for the young man. Cailyn didn't read, well she couldn't. It was a though question for her but the last book she actually "read" was Pooh bear book. but what was a genre of a Pooh bear book. She simply replied with: "Pooh bear." It wouldn't matter what the young man thought about her since she would know soon enough.

The hand met Sam’s with a shake not to firm not to soft in Sam’s opinion a polite handshake one that he was sure greeted intellects from the way that Martin spoke. As their conversation continued on Sam’s stare turned into a grin as Martin quickly and efficiently summed up Sam’s words around and made him view it from another angle. Sam waited patiently till Martin took a long enough break for Sam to voice his counter argument feeling slightly that his job as cashier has landed him a second job as a debater.
Watching between Martin’s eyes and his hands all Sam could do is smile, “That is the true question how do you obtain power without being corrupted, I think at that point we humans and us the mutants,” Yes Sam was owning up to being a mutant and had no problem expressing that he was one to the new person that was questioning Sam’s utopia. “Can truly learn how to understand and exist in harmony.” Pausing for a second Sam’s eyes trailed up from Martin’s hands to meet his gaze, “Call it a metaphor if you would like, I suppose that that would be a good way to describe my dream world.”
Shrugging as he collected his thoughts once more Sam continued on, “I think it was John Lennon that said, we fear the unknown, something that I agree with, if we could truly grasp thought and make an attempt to understand one another we would have nothing to fear and no need for power.” Sam smiled and shrugged realizing he couldn’t phrase exactly what he felt as best he thought he could earlier at the beginning of the conversation.
"I take it you have powers?"
Nodding his head in conformation Sam said, “Yep, but between you and me I was forbidden to use my powers by order of the store’s owner.” He let out a grin and leaned over the counter, “Just between us,” Sam whispered as he pointed to the counter as a small dim blue light appeared around Sam’s finger as he was manipulating the moisture in the air around him. If anything Martin should at the very least feel a small chill in the air. As he pulled his finger away from the counter he leaned back with a satisfied look on his face to reveal a small dove made of ice with wings expanded and an olive branch in his beak.
“I create and control ice…” said Sam with a smile on his face as he tilted his head as to question Martin, “How about yourself, I’d guess a mutant seeing as you didn’t act to surprised when a the protester entered the building.” It was only a guess but Sam figured if he guessed wrong Martin would correct him.

The patterns continued to evolve, revolve really, turning from spirals to some form of boxlike appearance, circling around all those little goodies that always stood on billing counters. Those smiling cards or advertisements. Even the card reader for electronic payment was not exempt from Martins finger movements.
“Do you not think that there are things beyond a mere humans understanding? “
Why do the neighbors flowers always look prettier then my own? Where did she get that wonderful dress from? And whose Car was it, that was parked in their favorite place at the diner? If those questions were beyond most humans, how about the much more difficult ones, that Sam had proposed... It did not look all too good for humankind right now. At least not in his mind.
“Is it not rather the things we know not about ourselves that frighten us most?”
He viewed this very own proposal of his questionable, yet this opening was intentional. If Sam wanted to continue down that line of discussion it would give him something to ponder for a few days at least. And even then the answers would not be absolute. They never were. Yet answers came with time. He closed his eyes for a moment just to see images of the things before flash through his mind. The things he had seen. They made him doubt his own statement very much.
The mischievous smile in Sam's face told him that he was not about to follow the orders of his superior completely even before the whispered words were spoken. And he was right. When the blue light appeared around Sam's fingers an eyebrow of his rose without conscious control. Was it about the using of his powers or the appearance of the light? A good question not to answer. When the first ripples of cold were to be felt on his fingers even though the store was warm and comfortable, the symbol painting became slower and slower, until it stopped, when he saw the ice bird sitting on the counter. A symbol of hope and peace he had made. An intriguing choice. A good one for this place. One of his fingertips made its way up to the head of the dove and stroked it a little. His eyes would remain on the little bird for the next few seconds. Minutes, hours. He took in every bit of the creation.
“Winter during summertime. An interesting skill it is you have, though I suggest you abide by the owners wishes.” His blinking eyes took the edge of the last words. He was glad that he had showed him, that he had made what he made. It was beautiful and he appreciated it. Winter. The season of death. The season of sleep. The season of dreams. The timeless season. In some ways his thoughts were....fitting he felt. And yes he had just called the mutation a skill. The most neutral variant he could think of. Some called it the gift, given undeservedly, to be loved and cherished. Others named it a curse or a burden, something given deserved or undeservedly as punishment for sins or to test the resolve of the affected individual. He called it skill. Something that could be honed through training and gave benefit to the one using it. Why was there this bitter taste on his tongue? That taste that said liar?
“They did not surprise me at all.” He agreed with Sam and gave him a courteous nod. It was just logical that people like them would come to a store such as this one. His words were half-true anyways. He had seen them coming in a very literal sense that did not look like it at all. “But even compared to the protesters that were here a moment ago I am powerless. Though you could consider myself gifted with calm.”
Truth was what he had said. The absolute truth, yet in a way that put emphasis on words that had double meaning to him and none to Sam. It was a dangerous game of walking the lines of language and understanding. A game that he did not normally enjoy playing. But here it might just be necessary if he wanted to remain truthful. Then it came to him. The best way to avoid any questions like that would be to watch out even more then he already was. Now he was appearing older, by revealing his true self. Well part of it. He looked like twenty. Why not act like twenty? No one questioned a young boy acting a young boy, though he was not very confident in his abilities at that it had worked once. He had to bear that in mind for the future. Deception within deception.
"What would you just have done without restraints a moment ago?"
Thinking that the worst had passed, Dominic let out a sigh of relief as Ghost had left. They had been followed by this other guy, it kind of creeped Dominic out, but he really didn't pay him much mind while Ghost gave him a stern talking to. When Ghost left, that's when the stranger decided to approach him. Instinctively, Dominic when on alert, just like any animal had when approached by an unfamiliar being. The teen placed down the scanning gun Ghost had given them and had given his attention to Kaz. All the while he spoke, anger pulsed through Dominic's. Who the hell did this guy think he was calling him ignorant and then on top of it, he threatened him. Dominic wanted to break something alright. Nothing in the store, but that guy's neck would do nicely. Or to break his face in, or rend his teeth through Kaz's neck and watched the crimson liquid flow from the wound and watch his life diminish. Everyone had a dark side and Dominic had always tried to keep his tucked away, especially with the powers he had. Any kind of anger, and the animalistic rage that dwell in his mind due to having absorbed the minds of the animals he absorbed was bound to lead him into serious trouble and carnage down the road.
"Bastard. I don't have to take any of this," Dominic said with a huff and stormed out of the office. He had enough of being bashed on for a day, he figure he'd stake a bit of advice from Ghost and think 'clearly' about his actions. Well, he thought about it alright, and came to the conclusion that if he stayed in that store any longer hell would break loose again and he'd try to send that Kaz guy to the ER or cemetery, either would have sufficed nicely in Dominic's mind. The front way would only lead to stares and more confrontation. In stead he continued down the hall from the office until he arrived to the back exit. "SPARTA!!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs, kicking the door. "Shit!" cringed as the force shot up his leg when it did not fly open. Damn those bolt locks indeed. Dominic frustratedly unlocked, opened the door and ran out into the back alley, disappearing from view.

Luke accepted the bag of food and the hot beverage with a quick smile. Stepping away from the register he took a bite out of the pastry before sipping at his beverage. For the next few moments he was quiet, eating and drinking at customer after customer came up to place their order with Shin.
"So how do you know Vega?" Luke asked during a period between customers, "I know quite a few of her friends but I've been so busy lately that I've missed some of her newer ones."
Even as they chatted Luke was making a mental note that he still had to go over and talk to a certain female feline. Right now Sara was chatting with Alexandra which meant that she wouldn't be leaving anytime soon but Luke couldn't put it off forever. Sara had a way of dissapearing that was even better and more creative than Wraith.
"I deserve some sort of explanation... don't I?" He thought to himself as he took another sip of his drink.
Out of the corner of Sara’s eye, she saw Luke making his way back to the café area with Shin, and it occurred to her, that she still had a free drink coming to her. That is if Shin was still offering it. Still she chose to finish the work with Alexandra before indulging in free coffee, tea, or hot cocoa.
“But hopefully your tail won’t get you in trouble anymore.”
Sara gave Alexandra a closed lips smile so as not to flash her long pointed teeth. “And how much money would you like to place on that bet?” She joked. Then her eyes darted down to examine more of Alexandra’s work. Sara’s critical artistic eye focused on where the blood had been a moment ago, and she was impressed. “I think I’m purchasing this one.”
“Good choice. Do you think they were mutants?”
Sara smiled again and the corners of her eyes crinkled. “All legends have to have some type of origins.” Sara closed that book, and rather than putting it on the shelf with the others, she set it on the floor next to her, while she arranged the rest of the stock. “Thirsty?” Sara suddenly asked, motioning over to the Café where Luke, shin, and a girl that once stroked Sara’s tail stood. “I only have one free drink coming to me, but I’m feeling generous and spend happy today.” For the moment, it didn’t even occur to her that she’d avoided telling Luke about the return of her sight.
There was a shout about Sparta from the back room, and as Sara lead the way to the café counter her ears flicked back and her head turned at the sound of the bang that made it’s way to her sensitive ears, from the back. “Ah-oh. I hope nothing else is broken back there.” For a moment she thought about letting her sight go, and drifting her new sense ability, to tell her what was going on back there, but fear of not getting her sight back so quickly won over her curiosity.
She ended up turning to the counter with Shin, instead. “I’ll take that free drink now. Hot tea, or hot cocoa. Either of the two would be fine. Surprise me.” Sara motioned for Circe to order as well as she started pulling out a wallet that she happened to claim as her own because she liked the red color. “Hey Luke.”

"Ah," Aurum replied offhand as he ordered up two cups of cocoa and four chocolate scones. The Asian flew around the area behind the counter, snagging the snacks and pouring the drinks. Aurum turned to nod at Hymn politely. "Those books are good. My mom used to read them to me when I was younger. It was sweet of the writer how he wrote the books for his kid." He handed over the payment for the food.
Shin slid the bag across the counter to Aurum, and turned to Luke. "We're both residents of the Xavier mansion, and right now, she's kind of my boss." He added with a light laugh. "And I don't fault you if you missed meeting me. It seems we've all been busy around here lately. Building the shop, running around… nice meeting you, though. I hear you helped her with the funding. That means you get my thanks too." After the first Full Circle got destroyed, they'd all been worried about if things would ever be the same. But now, it was rebuilt. "It's nice seeing a bit of hope in the world restored. And Ghost seems genuinely proud. I'm glad." He slid a towel across the counter, then turned to grab a mug for green tea as Sara stepped up.
>>“I’ll take that free drink now. Hot tea, or hot cocoa. Either of the two would be fine. Surprise me.”
"Yes, Miss Sara. One surprise, coming up."
Aurum wrapped a brown paper napkin around the sides of the cup of cocoa, and handed it to the blonde. "Careful, it's hot." Slipping across the floor of full circle, he led them to the cafe table area and pulled up a chair. "There are chocolate scones in the bag, too. If you want any."
He was glad to see the whole place was calming down again. We'll be able to enjoy this food in peace. Absentmindedly, he stirred his cocoa with a tiny red straw, thinking of the protestors again. He shook his head. They'd had no right... free speech was one thing, but this was private property. Someone could have gotten sued... and it looked like they'd sent at least one of the patrons of the shop into fits. He looked up at Hymn again, and smiled. "My name's Aurum, by the way. What's your's?"
Back at the counter, Shin set the mug of tea down for Sara. It filled the room with its aromatic scent as steam trailed like skeletal fingers in the air. "Bon appetite~" He turned his eyes to Alexandra, and nodded. "And you?"
A slight smile appeared on her lips, one that might have been considered a grin, when Sara answered her question. Alexandra glanced over at the book again before letting herself drift into other thoughts.
Delicate fingers reached for her hair and tucked it behind her ear as she scanned the reformed table and the book arrangement on it. With a content sigh she shifted her eyes, now a peaceful sky blue, to Sara and gave a nod when asked if she was thirsty.
Following the cat mutant to the counter, Alexandra let herself drop on the chair lazily, and her face turned to Luke. “Hey Luke.” Her words were accompanied by a lazy smile. Turning her head away she let out a small yawn, using her mutation on blood had been draining quite an amount of energy.
Fingers tapped lightly against the counter as she waited for Shin to get Sara’s mug of tea and take her own order. When he did, blue eyes scanned the Asian with a somehow absent look. “I’ll take a coffee.” she ordered, blinking away the sleeping sensation taking over her mind. Damn, this was so annoying. “Black.” she added seconds later, setting one of her elbows on the counter.

Things were going fine until Sara and Alexandra wandered over to the counter to play their own drink order. For a few moments Luke was silent, sipping at his own drink as he watched the feline that could obviously 'see' going about her business without a care in the world.
"Hey Sara. Hey Alexandra." Luke said somewhat cooly to the feline and just a touch more warmly to the young woman. "Glad to hear your sight's back. I guess your healing ability must have kicked back in." He observed as his attention once again focused on the feline. Returning to sipping at his drink Luke did his best to keep his tongue in check and not make any sort of mean comment about his being left in the dark.
"Nice work with those books Alexandra." Luke complimented as he decided that he better focus on something else or he would being to show a bad attitude, "I never realized you could do something like that."
"How in the world do I get in situations like this?" Luke wondered to himself as he just focused on remaining friendly and approachable. There was no way he was going to let his attitude be a downer on Ghost's grand opening which meant it was time for him to start thinking about getting out of here. "After I finish the drink... then I'll head out."
After placing a call in to the cafe, Ghost loitered in her office making sure she was alone before she pulled the silk parcel out of her kangaroo pocket. Even after all the trouble, it was eating her up to know what was in there. Sitting at her desk she carefully unwrapped one side and watched some dried leaves fall out. Tea? She picked up the dry slender bit and smelled them. Must've been cheap tea because it looked like grass.
That didn't seem very Garrett to her.
She felt the rub of slick paper between the folds of silk and slipped it out. It was... oh dear. She dropped the photo. No, she picked the photo up and looked at it very, very, very closely. It was a fake right? He had been edited into the photo or... or a mutant made this likeness. But.... how? She'd burned... that photo wasn't.... was this a joke?
The photo and the silk went in the deepest draw she could find, under the files and anything else she could put on top of it. The cheap tea... no... that had better not be grass because that would be proof that he was there. The grass went in the trash. Great. Fantastic. This day could get worse, she wasn't naive enough to say that it couldn't get worse. At least she hadn't been shot yet.
Sigh.
Well it wasn't going to get better by hiding in her office. Man. She should have saved the gift for later. She ran her fingers into her hair and they got caught in the hairspray holding the curls. Frown. Well, it was time to smile again. She put on her happy face and braved the store.
To her surprise the mess Dominic had made was almost entirely cleared, the inventory recovered and the people there all enjoying coffee. Her smile spread and she actually wiped at her eyes before patting Shin on the shoulder. "Thank you." She'd have to check on Dom in a bit, but for now. She could afford to say 'hi' to her friends on her birthday, right?
"Those books are good. My mom used to read them to me when I was younger. It was sweet of the writer how he wrote the books for his kid."
There was actually something they had in common. They both like the friendly yellow bear in the red shirt. Not that she had read anything else since age of 7 or so. In the asylum, she didn't get allot of books. Just puzzles to train her mind. "He likes honey." She said with a smile and nodded. He seemed like a friendly and playfull person to talk to.
"Careful, it's hot." "There are chocolate scones in the bag, too. If you want any."
She took the hot cocoa which was indeed hot. She switched hands every 20 seconds or so because of the heat. It would cool down enough in a minute so she could hold it. Ofcourse she said: "Yes" in response of the chocolate scones. It had the word chocolate in it and she was a sucker for chocolate.
After that the persons mind started to wander. About all kind of things that happened. Cailyn raised a brow at his thoughts. He worried to much and that could make her worry about things.
"My name's Aurum, by the way. What's your's?"
With a extended index finger, she pushed the front of his head softly for just a second. "You think to fast." She said, obviously revealing what she could do. "My name is Cailyn." She said after that as if nothing happened.
