The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Saphirus was a busy man; A very busy man. Even now, he was working, and watching a toddler. Well... The Danger room was doing most of the watching. He glanced over to the playpen he'd programmed in, as a digital Nanny floated about a teddy bear next to a strange glowing goldfish above a giggling little boy. The Goldfish wasn't the program's fault... That was JR, or at least, he very much thought so. Ever since he'd forgotten to feed Finn, their pet goldfish a few times after Shelby disappeared, and it went belly up, the little think just sort of... hung out, floating around the 3 year old's head.
Anyway, the boy was entertained, fed, and changed. That cleared up time for this. This being the layout before him, a digital copy of the mansion's own gym. It was training time! For some subtext... This latest generation of students seemed to be rich with potential, and with that a level of eagerness that brought hope for new blood among the ranks of the X-Men. Keeping that in mind, it made sense to see where people were at in regards to readiness. So? Put out feelers. Measure the crop. Count your chickens before you try to hatch them. Something like that.
The TLDR here was he'd put out an announcement to have interested students participate in a training session after class. It invited anyone who wanted to learn more about how to protect themselves or others to join him in the Danger Room.
And here they were. Saphirus looked over the group of students carefully. He recognized most of them from his security details, and one in particular actually helped him with security regularly. He'd asked her to be here. Asked was a bit light. He'd told her to be here. The rest were all volunteers. The X-Man had shown up in full team regalia himself; he'd even shaved and gotten a haircut. Had to put his best foot forward, and Elke had told him he looked like a wookie last time he'd seen her.
"Alright, students. Fall in line! Let's all start by introducing ourselves! Name, Description of your mutation, and reason you decided to join this training session!" This would help discern who was aiming for a spot on the team eventually, and who was just hoping to learn a thing or two.
"I am Saphirus, A Member of the X-Men. You may have seen me working security at the school as well. I can break things easily, and things can't break me easily." He pointed to the first student. "You're up."
As far as Megan was concerned, she was being blackmailed into attending this class and for the life of her she couldn't figure out how to get out of it.
So, here she was. standing in line in shorts and a t-shirt, while scowling at Saphirus with every ounce of ire she could muster as he pointed directly at her.
"... My name is Megan. I have an arachnid based mutation and I wish I was anywhere else but here." She crossed her arms, tapping her fingers on pale skin as she waited for whatever the next stage of this living nightmare was.
Comapritavey with quite a few faces in the line with her, she knew her power was going to place her fairly low on the list for strongest to weakest, and when compared to her almost complete lack of defensive or offensive skills, she was... worried. She wasn't allowed to taser her fellow students to ensure a win, that much she knew.
Hiyori was next up in line and an absolute bundle of nerves. She was in human form, black hair and fuzzy cat ears, with two tails ramrod straight behind her.
There was an official X-man here. The same one who had shown them around on her very first day, and not only that, he had even shaved his ridiculously fuzzy hobo beard in order to look more professional.
"M-my name is Hiyori! Nice to meet you!" She made a conscious effort to lower her voice, as she had been shouting for a moment there, and cleared her throat. "I am able to sense and absorb the energy left over after death, and use it to create physical constructs with which to fight!" She was lucky her fake human body wasn't able to sweat, or she'd be drenched already.
"I want to earn the title of X-man because I think I have the capacity to do a lot of good!" She leaned slightly forward in a too-stiff bow, "Please take care of me!"
After she popped back up, she waited anxiously for the attention to shift to the next student, while trying to remember to keep her body blinking and breathing like a normal person.

Luna had been so excited when she saw the notice that it had been all she thought of all day. She had even woke up early and got to history class on time. Luna's had washed and brushed her fur making sure it almost shined, she wanted to make a good first impression here. Her excitement was such she was almost hopping with energy shifting her weight from one foot to the other. She had on a T-shirt depicting cold steel in what was a mostly accurate depiction of him saving people from zombies and shorts. Her fluffy tail waved behind her as she moved stretching out almost four feet behind her and forcing her into a leaned posture. She adjusted her glasses again as they started with introductions.
An arachnid mutant who wanted to be elsewhere, her chances were getting better by the moment. She was unsure if her powers could even effect spiders or if spiders even could smell things. The two tailed girl beside her seemed more excited and wanted to be an x men and her powers seemed so mysterious. Images floated in her head of what constructs the girl might be able to make.
Then it was her turn. "My name is Luna, really happy to meet all of you. I have skunk powers, i can shoot a foul smelling scent with pin point accuracy around twenty feet, I have great hearing and smell but my eyes kinda suck now. " she said not at all hiding her excitement at being here. "I want to be an X men one day, because anti mutant terrorists broke into my school and i was powerless even after transforming. I don't recall it to well but a friend told me we were saved by a women sheathed in pink. I want to repay her by saving humans and mutants and doing good in the world" she said only slightly less excited then she had been at the start. She also left out her Human phobia.

The first student, Megan didn't seem thrilled to be here. Probably coerced into doing it like so many things at the mansion. Were they going to be fighting one another? Himari could do her the favor of knocking her out and sending her to the infirmary early on. That was nice of her.. right?
Then, leave it to little sisters to be embarrassingly uncool! With a suppressed wince at her sister Hiyori's yell she waited her turn. Teachers were human, and X-Men were human.. well mutant.. whatever! They both went ow when you hit them so she was less reverent. Respect could wait until the teacher actually did some teaching or fighting. Any John Smith could be good at dealing with minor criminals. She wanted someone capable of taking out 'super' villains' and to be that person herself.
Next up was skunk girl! She at least had a good reason for being there. It all sounded a bit like an anime hero's origin story if she bothered to read much anime. The occasional big weekly mag was about all she bothered with, but that much much was difficult in the states. More likely she just hadn't the money to go buy a couple volumes.
"Himari, free movement, to fight." Simple and to the point. Ok her power description wasn't wholly accurate, but it was enough for near strangers to know. It would also stay that way if she had anything to say about it! She also didn't think she was really X-Men material.. not really. She didn't think they wanted someone like her in the X-Men due to the simple fact her classes were less then a top priority for her and that was putting it mildly. Waving a hand then re-crossing her arms to indicate to the next person to go ahead and wasn't about to share more.
A Danger Room training session! As an X-In-Training, how could Eupraxia turn down an opportunity to learn from an X-Man in the most impressive training room she had ever heard of? Even if the X-Man leading the day’s session struck her as… grumpy? Intimidating? Nah, probably just grumpy. That said, he was covered in much less hair than the last time she saw him, making him new and clean.
There was a call to get in line, so Praxi wasted no time sliding to her spot. Once she was lined up with the rest of the students, her eyespots shifted to the side of her head to inspect her fellow classmates. (Not that this was a “class,” technically.)
Megan seemed unenthusiastic, but when she spoke, she sounded… well, also unenthusiastic. That said, arachnids? Sounded like an animal thing, but Praxi was still catching up on all the science she missed being a street urchin.
Hiyori’s powers seemed… very steeped in death. Praxi wondered how that related to the growths on her head. Actually, were those… they looked a lot like the ears on Miss Grey’s cat.
Luna was another physical mutant—they were not lacking in those today, which Praxi liked. She was not shy to share what brought her today, that was for sure. Should Praxi say that much? Either way, it sounded like she might have lucked out not being able to smell things.
Meanwhile, if Luna was an open book, Himari was a business card. Praxi was not good at colors, but she was almost certain Himari’s hair color was unique for humanish mutants. Maybe part of her mutation?
Next in line was… oh! Praxi! The slime girl stood straighter, which mostly involved standing taller and keeping her figure as human-approximate as possible. ”I’m Eupraxia. Praxi is fine. I’m from Atlantis.” She liked to mention that, because it explained to some people why aspects of the world around her left her clueless. ”I can stick to stuff, change my shape, and catch stuff in me. Oh, and I’m mostly indestructible. Because I’m made of slime.” Well, as far as she could tell based on her run-ins with Atlantean guards.
Wait, she was forgetting something. Oh! Tides! "An X-Trainee! I'm also an X-Trainee!" She swirled in embarrassment after almost forgetting the important part. Smooth, Praxi, smooth.
Ladies and gentlemen, Megan. Saphirus gave her 'the look' in response to her attitude. Oh, like the get out of Gym free pass she'd be getting from this wasn't worth it. Oh well, she didn't need to be enthusiastic, she just needed to be here to keep a spider watching the security consoles in case anything happened up stairs while they were down here.
Also, she had a way with JR, so she could help tend to him without interrupting class if anything happened. "Megan will be acting as an assistant for this training session. Don't ask her anything about fighting, though. She's a learner herself." That was being nice. If anything, Megan had made it blaringly clear that she never had any plans to get punched in the face again... Ever.
Pacing to the next person, his eyes landed on someone who looked like they were about to explode. Huh. The voice and the name made it obvious who she was, but she could not look any more different. Still, his sixth sense felt the strange construct in human form, and the cat within. He nodded. "Aspiring team member. That's good." He kept pacing down the line.
Oh, it was the first person to sign up, right? Oh... That shirt. Wow. A fan of Sam's? He glanced at her tail, and then her bespectacled face. As she spoke, he nodded a little. Another person aiming for the team. He could think of some interesting applications for her power in things like crowd control, or marking suspects so that dogs could find them easily. Still, it was clear she would need some physical training to get up to speed. Maybe both her and the cat.
The next one in the line... Well, she was a different story. This person did, in fact, even lift. Clearly. He smirked a bit as Himari spoke. He'd gotten the distinct impression that she had a sort of chip on her shoulder for some reason. It radiated off of her. He wondered if anything would come of it.
He grinned as he stopped in front of Praxi. Grumpy as he might be normally, he remembered clearly being in her shoes. "Alright, Trainee. Glad to see you here. A lot of you here have an interest in the team. That's good. We can always use new trainees. All you have to do is put your best foot forward, and follow Praxi's Example." The older mutant turned and returned to a position in front of and central to the line-up, about fifteen feet back; the presence of a sort of limp in his gait might draw the attention of anyone sizing him up.
"But... There is a big difference between a trainee, and a full fledged member of the X-Men. If you are interested in getting to that next step, or if you just want to fight. "He looked to Himari. "You came to the right place. To give you a good idea what you are aiming for, long term... We'll start with a demonstration. A sorta game, Rules are easy. All of you, Vs me, hand to hand. Come at me all at once if you want. If you wind up on the floor, you're out. If I wind up on the floor... I quit my day job." He grinned, and stood, waiting for them to act, body placed so that its right side was angled closer to the group.
Oh, thank the LORD ABOVE he wasn't about to try and make her fight anybody.
After sticking her tongue out at him immaturely, Megan hauled her ass over to where Jr. was currently playing and stationed herself there. She was willing to do a lot of things, but physical workouts and training excersises were not one of them. Too much effort and she didn't like aching for days after.
"Feel free to approach me for anything other than a physical fight." Watching was what she did best, after all.
She settled down in the pen with Jr, picking up a few small toys to keep him well entertained while the session moved along without her.
She was actually interested in seeing how this all went. Maybe less interested in the Skunk girl, but at least she was out of smells way with Jr. in the protective Danger Room Nanny Bubble.
Praxi was someone she had watched from afar for a while, and her backstory was vastly interesting. Her student files had contained quite a few things Megan hadn't known before. Watching her fight would be a treat and if she was hedging bets on anyway, it was Praxi as being the one to get Saph to 'quit his day job' as he put it.
The sisters, whom she had yet to witness in a fight herself, were an unknown that she was excited to learn more about if only because one seemed to be teeming with barely contained aggression, and the other was... best described as a bit of a mystery. Megan had personally only seen her other form a few times and had no idea how it would come into play in combat. Seemed like more of a weakness, really.
Luna, who she had been in classes with for a short while but never bothered to talk to, sure seemed like the least ready for the trainee title, but she would force herself to wait to label her. Often times those with animal traits had edges where you would not think to look, and if witty enough you could come out swinging with unexpected results. That squirrel controlling mutant girl she had read about once was a prime example of that.
"Alright, let's try this one again, Junior. What block is this? B. Buh-buh-Beee."
The instructor's attention lifted from her and Hiyori immediately visibly wilted as the stress waned.
Her ears swivel-jerked in Praxi's direction the moment Saph called her a Trainee though, even as her face stayed impassive and her eyes straight forward.
Another Trainee! How exciting! Perhaps this one would also be as kind and enthusiastic as Xavier had been when she first met him? Hiyori vibrated with excitement her human!shell, and inadvertently made it look like she was shivering.
Their teacher explained the rules of the exercise, or game as he put it, and hoooo boy, her sister was probably jumping for joy right now. She didn't dare sneak a peek while Saph was talking. Instead, she leaned forward as far as she could from within her construct, watching through the stomach area of her creation.
So... it was just go then? Go it was!
Fast as lightning her body shot forward. She didn't pay too much attention to what the other students were doing, so long as they stayed out of her direct path.
Five feet from where she had started her base body started to dissipate and the cat within launched forward with paws outstretched in a graceful arch. Purple swirls of energy filled the air directly behind, and under her, as she started to near the floor... but before she landed the huge, aged helmet of the Shogun started to form.
Hiyori landed in a crouch atop it as it lurched up seemingly from within the ground, great Naginata hefted up at its side. The heavy, lumbering construct rose 15 feet in height and then carried on in a loping, ground shaking jog toward the instructor.
If all she needed to do was keep herself off the ground as she whittled away at him, that would be a piece of cake!

While her head moved to glance at each of the others, her ears twitched as they spoke. The others made her feel the issue she had even more, and Himari maybe more so. Constructs? Living Jello? and whatever Free movement was. She seemed confident and Praxi was already a Trainee. She felt so much preasure to make herself look good and to make a good showing. The one person who did not make her feel outclassed was playing with a kid. Still if her dream was to come true and if she were to repay that angels kindness, she needed to do this.
Fight? Already? She was sure she could, she had done so, but it did seem quick. "Maybe we should do this toge..." she started to say but she saw Hiyori start forward and within moments begin using her powers which Luna forced herself not to watch, fully and focus. She decided against her spray considering her allies and with a mirthful squeak she moved forward. As she ran her head lowered and her tail hung low, she almost had the instinct to try running on all fours, she never gave in however.
She aimed for just left of Saphirus, trying to make her attack pattern seem off, making as much of fists as she could not wanting to claw the guy, as she neared, she threw her skunk tail in the opposite direction hoping no one else was there. it had the effect of turning her as she would pass. She was trying to slip behind him to strike from there, using her fist not bothering to hold back, because he was an X man. Not that Luna had any real strength past that of a girl in average shape. Even if she missed she thought maybe she could open him to another.

Much unlike her sister she had no problem with looking around as everyone talked. The X-men were hardly any sort of military organization and she was far too irreverent, and unable to be at least marginally aware of her surroundings to just stare in one direction. Nor was she really inclined to share her life story with stranger's. She envied that part of her sister's personality quite a bit. If she had any of the other students in her classes she couldn't recall. If they were it was the ones she napped in. It was also probably for the best that the smart sister was the talkative one and she was more reserved in that department, who knows what embarrassing thing she might say! Actually..
So Megan was on babysitting duty, that was one person less she would feel bad about knocking out as gently as possible. Saph seemed to be sizing them up and their intention, not that she gave the man much to work with he still passed without comment. Her eyes tracking his odd limp gait. Battles were always by as much as what you saw before the first punch was thrown then any real tactics. Wait they were going to be able to fight him?! BEST DAY EVER. As a group.. well that was slightly less so. This was potentially the next crop of 'heroes' presenting a moral conundrum of trying to outshine her fellows to override her school habits to get on the team or help the others succeed? Sighing inwardly but not before looking somewhat over to Praxi.
Of course not to forgetting the iron clad rule of siblings 'turnabout is fair play' and embarrassing her sister.. "So what's a cute slime girl like you doing in crappy danger room like this?" Not that she didn't find the girl cute.. Throwing a wink the slime girl's way too just for good measure before shucking off her generic gym t-shirt and tossing it to the side showing off more of her very fit and toned body, and thankfully a form fitting sports top exactly like other female fighters used. She would have liked to test Saph out a bit, but she knew it someone was already charging in and.. of course it would be her sister. Instead of sighing she laughed with a shake of her head and darted in.
Much to anyone who remotely knew her surprise she would be keen on playing a very annoying matador, using feinted sharp jabs to push him into accepting hits from the others to avoid hers and to punish him brutally the second he stopped keeping his eyes on her. She figured it was the best way of ensuring the others actually learned something from the little bout and to ensure it didn't end up as an ego trip for Saph as he crushed everyone. If it came down to a one on one fight between her and the older man.. well then she could cut loose. At the moment however team play was the game and she could feel the flow of things better than any of her peers. She wasn't about to over commit without knowing the extent of Saphs powers however.
Megan was an assistant, though Praxi still believed she did not want to be, though she did soften once she got her assignment. Months ago, that would have been the slime girl’s attitude, but that damn blonde giant and his infectious enthusiasm got to her. She wanted to do something good again, and Saph calling her an example made her figure balloon slightly with pride.
Apparently the challenge here was to fight the teacher. That was a set-up! They did that in movies when they knew the teacher could kick all their butts! That said, Praxi didn’t have a butt! Well, not really. She was also not much of a puncher, so she would have to get creative.
There was a chip on her metaphorical shoulder now that Saph pointed her out, because Praxi was sure she felt multiple sets of eyes watch her. That was intimidating enough, but one of those sets of eyes was attached to a mouth that called her cute. Eyes and a mouth and a young woman with distinctive hair and a body that looked lean and hard in all the ways Praxi was soft. And gosh, did a comment like that make her soft. And swirly. So much internal swirling. ”I, uh. Training. The training. For X stuff…” Was that a dumb answer?
Suddenly, fighting the teacher seemed like an easier task to focus on. Conveniently, Hiyori wasted no time jumping into the action, getting them started. Realizing things were starting, Praxi’s body dropped to the ground, not like a fall, but as a thick liquid pooling immediately at her base until she was a green puddle.
This definitely didn’t count as being “sent to the ground.” She put herself there. It was easier to move as a puddle, and she wasted no time chugging toward the nearest wall. One of her eyespots moved to her front to keep an eye on the path, but the other stayed toward the rear, watching the “team” approach their instructor. Hiyori summoned a surprising ally from nowhere. Hopefully that would distract the man. Luna and Himari ran in to get involved in melee combat, so as expected, the man should have his hands full as Praxi used her stickiness to climb the wall she found, wasting no momentum in shifting planes.
It took more effort to be sticky enough to cling to a ceiling, but not much more. Unless Saph had some kind of super-spatial awareness, he could not look everywhere at one time. Who kept track of the space overhead? Certainly not Atlantean Guards. The bubble of a girl chugged along the ceiling until she was in a good enough position. She let herself go slick.
Her form released from the ceiling, dropping at an accelerated pace, aiming square for Saph’s head and shoulders. At this speed, sure, some of her would splash away, but she was already focusing all her attention on making her body denser, stickier. If she could land cleanly, she could wrap most of her around his shoulders, arms—maybe even his head. It would be harder to fight the other girls if he was fighting against her to move or breathe! (Note to self: Do not suffocate the teacher, though.)
Anyone could have guessed that the room would have burst into action like it did. These kids were eager. The seasoned X-Man couldn't help but grin as the first student stepped forward. As she did, Saphirus' voice rang out. "Activate Training Program MRV2- Training wheels."
Almost nothing would noticeably change immediately within the Danger Room. The effects of the program were more subtle. Now, and invisible shield surrounded the students; one that would prevent force applied to them from breaking thresholds that would lead to anything more than minor bumps and bruises. The floor and walls would give way to a springiness if people were flung into them at high speeds, and the playpen would be protected by a large, tinted barrier.
That wasn't to say anyone was getting out of this scot free; they had all signed a waiver, after all. He didn't mind. They called him the Masochist for a reason. His grin only widened as Hiyori moved first, summoning a giant Samurai with the equivalent of a halberd in its hands. A whistle escaped his lips as the thing approached, ready to swing. "That... Is freakin cool as hell."
Luna moved next, foregoing using her spray for a direct, tactical approach as well. For him, her approach was observable on two levels. First, he saw her moving. More importantly, second... He felt her moving. That neat maneuver with the tail played out in vivid detail as his sixth sense picked up the mechanics of it. "If Your body is tellin ya to run on all fours, do it." He stated it plainly as she approached.
Fighting against his body's natural instinct to spin to meet her well planned out blow, he simply let it hit to little effect. "Gotta get you inta weight training." While calling them all out like this may seem showboaty, and it was, he wasn't doing this to show off. He wanted to see what they were made of. So far, he'd learned that Luna was clever and creative, but needed training on shot mechanics, as well as a good trip to the gym or ten. He would surge toward her, swinging a comparably massive left fist at her guard to see if it broke.
"Try attackin' with your tail, maybe?" As he spoke this he spun and double stepped forward into the approaching Himari's range. The downside to attacking from behind meant he could make a space bubble by pressing one attacker, and then turning to get in the other one's face.
As for Himari's approach. He recognized the Muay Thai right way; it was the martial art he'd practiced for ten years, after brawling haphazardly for the first two years on the team. He also noticed she was playing it safe. Smart, but not what he was expecting when he'd first met her. Where was that passion for the tussle he'd sensed in her? For one, he could feel the noncommittal feints well enough to ignore them as a threat. As much as she may want to treat him like a charging bull, his experience saw him moving at calculated angles, pushing her toward the giant Shogun in order to roll out of the center of their group, and force them to either reorganize their formation, or approach him in a line.
That left the trainee. He broke visual on Himari and Luna to spot her zooming up the wall. Nice. The punishment Himari would aim to dish out in response to him looking away would be blocked by a right forearm that would feel like hitting nothing. The tickle of energy from the blow told him that Himari's strength was absolutely an asset. "Nice." He gave her the respect of not breaking line of sight again, even though his sixth sense didn't make it necessary.
His assumption that the Shogun would not attack with Himari in the way was very off. His eyes widened as the giant switched the blunt side of the naginata out and hefted a massive baseball swing his way. Woof! Hopefully Himari and Luna knew to stay clear. As for him... Well. This was his bread and butter. His right hand reached out to receive the blow by the blade, stopping the blow that could cleave a car in two with little struggle, and causing his left hand to tingle up to his wrist. "Watch out for your team mates, there!"
It was then that he felt something drop from the ceiling. Ah, Praxi, right on time. As she fell he disengaged with Himari and the Shogun, stepping in a rapid, smooth, side-stepping circle to time a hefty open handed smack with the force from the Shogun's strike right at the falling Praxi, aiming to send the majority of her mass right at Luna's face.
(Shogun's movements acted out at the direction of Mouse~)
Her ears rolled back as she watched the man stop the Shogun's blade effortlessly. There had been no jerking nature to the feat either as if met with an equal force. Just... all the momentum was gone. Peculiar.
From her seat atop the shogun's head, she shifted her attention to the ground at his feet. If she wasn't able to knock him off of them, maybe she could trip and pull him down instead.
Her purple mist started to swirl below him as he fended off her sister, and then took care of Praxi with frustrating quickness. He... wasn't like anything she had ever personally fought before, that was for sure.
The mist condensed and a multitude of hands shot out from it, reaching out to try and grab at the man's legs. Decayed skin, peeling flesh; a small group of undead started to rise up from the floor with long, thin fingers and bleached bones reaching... reaching...
Hiyori pushed the Shogun forward as soon as he finished attacking the slime, Naginata lifting swiftly and over the opposite shoulder this time, and then being brought down in an angled arch at the other side she had yet to attack.
As soon as the attack was due to hit, she scrambled off the shoulder of her own creation, leaping for one of the many zombies she had created to use as a platform.
The Shogun suddenly dispelled in a swirling explosion of purple energy, and above him, another formed.
A carbon copy of her sister appeared, muscular body tucked and ready as she fell at him with an axe kick aimed at the crown of his head.

Praxi fell from the sky, aiming herself precisely. She did not have much control in the sky, but she got good at launch angles. As long as he did not immediately run from the general area he was in, she could catch him with most of herself.
Unfortunately, Saph’s plan was not to dodge, it was to force a pulse of force to change her path. He must have sensed her! She needed to read up on the X-Men’s powers.
Instead of an X in her path, Praxi was on a collision course for Luna, the black-and-white girl. Praxi immediately relaxed, losing density and stickiness. She was only slightly more viscous than water when she splashed on the furry woman, leaving some bits of her unfortunately in that fur while the bulk of her body splashed to the ground, reforming.
”That felt like cheating,” she rumbled quietly, coming up with a new plan. She slipped around to find an angle. She needed to get a line-of-sight with Saph, stay far enough not to get involved in the mess at melee range, and look for openings that did not risk catching the rest of her team.
Once she felt she had the right moment, she lashed an “arm” that released a cantaloup-sized gob of slime. She would pepper those from a distance until she was low enough on resources that she had to run around for a fetch quest. If the girls could keep him distracted, she could try sticking globs wherever she could. Anything to slow him down or distract him from the fight. She had to admit, it was impressive how he managed multiple points of attack like that.
It was also frustrating. Sure, they were at a disadvantage, but gosh, did she hate losing.
