The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I've noticed that the X's and O's still aren't fighting each other very often, and that some of us want that to change. I think we ought to go ahead and get some plots running to make this happen.
Lenna et. al. are turning the Order into something a lot sneakier and quieter than it once was, but that doesn't mean they aren't doing anything illegal or morally troublesome anymore. Lots of M dealing, a touch of theft, and murder are all happening regularly off-screen at the Order's hands (or so I would assume; typical organized crime stuff, you know). There's also plenty of room for politically motivated crimes. For instance, I think that the Order would be happy to kill off a few of the more powerful opponents to their cause if they could also avoid turning those people into martyrs.
The X's are supposed to be crime-fighters. However, as it stands, the Order doesn't have a lot of reasons to mess with the X's. It would actually be in their best interests to avoid messing around with the X's business; they don't make as much noise that way. This could easily change if the X's start being a problem.
I was thinking we could get some serious inter-faction rivalry going with a sequence of events like this:
1) One or more X's successfully ruins one of the Order's plans. 2) The Order retaliates by directly attacking the X's, with the intent of making it clear that the Order is not to be messed with. 3) The X-Men respond by stepping up their counter-Order activities 4) The snowball effect takes over, and the X-Men and Order start fighting each other more regularly. With luck, it gets so bad that their members will sometimes fight each other purely because they're in opposing factions and they spot each other.
First off - is everyone interested in the status quo changing to include more inter-faction fighting? I mean, I'd think so. It seems only natural that the X's and O's should be at each other's throats, and it's kind of surprising that we haven't been for so long.
Second, I'm looking for one or two volunteers from the X-Men's ranks to catch Dorian doing something highly illegal and Order-related. This would almost certainly involve them getting into a fight, and could definitely work as part or all of that first step to starting an inter-faction rivalry I outlined above. We can figure out the details for such a thread later. Small threads are nice and manageable, so I wouldn't want more than 3 people in this initial thread I'm proposing. If other Order and X types want to get involved, there's no reason they can't work out an Order crime for the X's to meddle in. More is better. I highly encourage this. Do it do it do it do it do it
This will work best if the X-Men who messed with the Order's plans have loved ones for the Order to target :3
After those threads go down, there needs to be one or more threads covering the first wave of Order retaliation. Then, a thread or two about how the X-Men retaliate to the retaliation. Then we can all just hate each other and go nuts ♥
...You've heard stories about me? Don't listen to them! It's safe to sit next to me, really!
I like this idea and Syn has brought the full power of the Order down on the X-Men twice when she was solely in charge to show the X-Men they were a force to be reckoned with. I look forward to more interaction with the X's.
I have always supported greater interaction fighting. I believe it is a key element missing from mro. Im more then willing to put Aura and Melissa into the thick of things. Aura would easily go after an x-mens loved ones. Aura loves a good fight as well.
Aura might be good for an order retaliation thread or supporting another order member in their criminal ways

Heck yes. The Mod Team was actually just talking about this the other day (literally, last Sunday), and how very much we needed to get some nice Faction rivalry going again. The site used to be nice and Faction conflict-y, but things have been very mellow in more recent history. There is way too much chummy behavior between those lame bake sale X-Men and those devilishly handsome stabbity-stabs in the Order. Clearly this is a situation in violent need of remedy. Bring on the return to rivalry!
I LOVE this idea. I've stated many times in cbox that I fully intend on having Serena join the X-men, and the way her threads are going, that should happen soon-ish, so even if it's as simple a retaliation as an orderling attacking an X-man at night around the mansion, it could spark my character's response.
I also keep reading bits of information about old plots and it also struck me that there seemed to be a lot less conflict around. Anyway, love the idea Kait ^_^
Oh yes! Inter-faction conflicts are the best! I also think that we need to have more violence between the two factions. (I could have swore they were holding hands with each other at some points during this lack of fighting)
Shade has numerously attacked X-men just by their mere presence. However, due to recent developments, I believe Shade might be taking a background/ behind-the-curtain approach in dealing with the conflict between the two factions. (If that thread from Christmas would ever finish. I might be calling it quits and just stating what is suppose to happen due to the lack of the activity and the importance on future events for Shade)
Anyways, on to the battles themselves, due to the Order's direction of going underground, I believe a full on assault would be contradictory to their efforts. Of course, this could have some great intra-faction tension in the Order from the leaders fighting over how they should respond to the X-men stepping in their way. I believe the Order should respond with more of a terrorist attack-like approach. The event can not be proven that it was the Order, but...everyone pretty much knows who did it. The Sanctuary obviously denies any involvement so that the police / X-men have no reason to attack.
With many of the X-men and Order members being almost celebrities/ super villains in New York City now (aka Cold Steel, Isabel, Aura, etc.), random guerrilla-based attacks could be used against them. This would work great with Cold Steel's idea that he wanted a more violent element inside the X-men.
With both groups denying they are actually in a war again, it would keep law enforcement from being able to blame anyone...Of course, this might result in the current stalemate again. :/
Sorry, I'm probably rambling, but I'm trying to type as fast as possible at the moment.
In any affair, Shade's current situation would be used mainly as a double agent between both sides. So I would be able to pass on critical information between the two sides. Just let me know if y'all would like anything passed. Of course, I might pass on some information that you would not like to be passed on too. However, that is the nature of a double agent. I have to make the other side think that I am actually helping them.
Thanks for listening and can't wait for the fighting to begin, Shade/ Cole
PS: Cole would probably be converting to an X-men too. However, it will be a while before that can happen
Some inner-faction conflict would also help drum up more excitement for the factions themselves. We've kind of been stuck in a rut of everyone being neutral for awhile. It would be nice to see another reason for people to want to be recruited.

I would offer Granny to find out stuff, you know. I would also suggest that she have a little discussion with another xmen on the order. Afer all she just used them as a hit squad in a personal vendetta. Yes, Old Ladies are nice that way.

I approve of this as well, being the fan of inter-faction rivalries that I am. Plus, once Ty is officially order, it'd give me a few more opportunities for him to get in trouble. x3
That would make shade the second order member the X-men have arrested in under a year. That im aware of anyway. COld steel arrested Aura. Could look like an attack on the Order from the x-men/police
