CharacterPersonality: Hades is an introverted character who usually speaks in a calm and formal manner and is often considered blunt and to the point. This calm manner is rarely rattled and Hade’s lack of visible or detectable emotion while executing a mission (or a person or peoples) or under contract is well known in those shadowy circles. His trust and loyalty is very hard to gain, but once gained he is an extremely loyal and devoted friend. Hades also has a hidden warm side to his personality but due to the number of hurts and deaths he has witnessed over the years, that side rarely shows itself. Hades enjoys working with professionals and occasionally enjoys the benefits of being associated with a larger organization such as the Kabal.
Hobbies/ Interests: Hiking, free running, climbing, shooting, reading. Hades also enjoys going to plays, musicals and concerts.
Job or part time job and description: Hades is a highly skilled mercenary who also accepts the occasional role as a retainer. Say a government or a black Ops group wishes to carry out a challenging mission they may hire Hades as part of a team or employ him as a solo agent. Only a select group of people will have heard of him although there are tales of a legendary assassin who some call “The Ghost”. As a rule Hades only considers contracts from new clients who have been referred from people he has worked with in the past.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Due to his power he is wary of losing control and hurting those around him. He is also somewhat reluctant to get too attached to anyone as he has, over the years, watched so many people that he cared about age and die. Also due to his upbringing, certain social situations confuse and unsettle him. While on a job he can face anything, but a casual social situation poses a significant challenge, making friends is also not easy for Hades.
Special talents: Hades is trained in survival techniques and the necessary skills to survive in any environment that can support human lifeform. He is a good cook (having once been required to pose as a chief for infiltration purposes) and sings reasonably well.

People have vastly differing views of Hades morality. Once Hades has accepted a contract (after assessing the risks involved) he will execute all requirements of that contract (from torture to maiming to killing) without hesitation. However he has been known to spare individuals whom he has not been specifically ordered to harm provided thay do not hinder or threaten him in any way. He has also been known in rare instances to offer assistance to those in need. This willingness should not be interpreted in any way as a weakness as Hades has shown, on many occasion, a cold willingness to kill innocents if they threaten him, his mission or if they know too much. That being said Hades is very much a man of his word, be it a contract to cause much death and destruction or a promise to a friend to save a life, if he says he will do something, it will be done.
Mutations [Unchanged]
Mutation description:Hades can phase, a state that allows him to move through most substances. He can phase any items of clothing and or equipment that he is carrying. His carrying capacity is no different from when he is in human form.
He cannot phase or carry any living being with him for reasons that will soon become clear. When in a phased stated aside from movement and thinking the rest of his bodily functions go into a state of suspended animation. I.e he does not need to breathe or eat. While phased he can still take elemental damage but is immune to physical attacks. When phased, Hades achieves movement by imbuing his particles with kinetic energy and “pushing off” any surface that he is in contact with. The nature of the surface affects this. Hades can move along or through solid objects the easiest as their molecules are fixed. Movement through liquids is slower likened to swimming speed. Movement through air or gas is very slow and is limited to gliding as air molecules are constantly in motion and do not offer a firm “surface” to “push off”. While phased any weapon carried by Hades becomes nonfunctional. Hades can hide objects within solids and reclaim them later. When in physical form if he suffers a life threatening injury, such as being blown up, Hades will auto phase (he has no choice in the matter) and his molecules will scatter then slowly reform. How widely the particles scatter and the length of the reformation time vary depending on the extent and cause of said damage. (i.e in the mutant registration act, to cover the retreat and escape of prisoners, Hades blew himself up with such violence that it took him 5 years to reform.) This aspect of his ability essentially renders him immortal.
The final aspect of Hade’s power activates only when he or any of his molecules are phased (with the exception of auto phase in which case this aspect only remains active for a number of hours). When Hades is phased, due to the nature of phasing, when any part of any living organism comes into contact with Hades, the effect is identical to coming into contact with nano-silver particles, that part will suffer rapid and sever cellular damage with time. Hence a brush with hades may cause skin rash. if he passes through you briefly, you will feel slightly ill. If one experiences repeated rapid exposure or prolonged exposure organ failure and death will occur. It should be noted that when phased, Hades movement speed is slower than normal. Hence someone with training could evade his when phased. With concentration Hades can control the severity and rapidity but it is safe to say that any contact with Hades phased form will cause damage. Hades has used this ability in the past to introduce temporary or permanent partial and full paralysis and death as well as to cause pain for interrogation purposes.
Strengths:The ability to phase grants Hades access to almost anywhere unless that location is shielded by elemental shielding. The ability to auto phase and regroup grants Hades immortality in that he cannot die. The poison aspect of his power is useful in a number of situations.
Weaknesses and Limitations:As mentioned before Hade’s phasing only allows him to carry as much as he could normally and he cannot transport anything living while phased (he physically cannot phase them) remaining phased does not consume energy but the act of changing states does. Hence when Hades auto phases it takes such a length of time to reform. Also if Hades phases when he is nearly exhausted he risks having to wait a significant amount of time before he can gather enough strength to change back. Also for a short time after changing from a phased state back to normal Hades will experience physical exhaustion. Any injury sustained while phased will take twice as long to heal than if he was injured when not phased and will be twice as severe. Hades still needs to expend energy to move and as he cannot eat while phased, the only way to regain energy is to leach it from living organisms or to slowly gather it from the surroundings. The former (leaching) would provide Hades with some energy while the latter is about as effective as trickle charging a battery. (You will get there .. in the end…after a looong long time).Hades is incapable of un-phasing while in a solid or under any circumstance which would cause him to die.
Physical AbilitiesGeneral Physical Capabilities: Having been trained from birth as a killer, and having maintained that training all throughout his life, Hades can be considered at peak human speed with strength proportional to his build. His reflexes are extremely honed and he has almost peak human stamina and good flexibility.
Fighting Style: Having been trained since birth in a variety of martial arts and fighting styles and having hones said skills over the past 80 or so odd years, Hades has been able to not only master most fighting styles but also to create his own unique blend utilizing both his considerable experience and his training. He is proficient in most hand to hand weapons as well as most handheld firearms.

History Of Your CharacterHades Originally grew up in China, sometime around 210 B.C. Since an encounter with Noel, he has been able to ascertain that he was alive in China during the Qin Dynasty and fought in the unification wars. He was married with two sons and a daughter. His wife, daughter and one son were murdered. Hades and his remaining son sought training in a clan of assassins. Soon after Hades discovered his mutation. As the years went by he also discovered his immortality. The years were not kind to Hades. 1800s found Hades a shadow of a man, wondering aimlessly around the world. One day he was captured by person(s) unknown, his memory wiped, his age was regressed to that of a child and he underwent heavy and brutal genetic modification.
What Hades remembers:Hades grew up as part of an experiment in a sort of mutant orphanage. He is not sure if he was kidnapped, sold or what. The now nonexistent institute was run but a mutant whose power was super intelligence, particularly in the area of genetics. All of Hades “brothers” were mutants. Now whether that was due to chance or due to the numerous injections that they regularly had no one can say. Each mutant child was trained in skills to complement their mutant power and temperament. Of all the children at the institute Hades bonded with Dragon King (DK) the most. They were polar opposites. DK was a matter manipulator, he could only change himself, his size, weight, shape, density etc. He was intended to be a one man army, in heavy weaponry and demolitions for the purpose of becoming a one man army wrecking large scale death and destruction. Hades on the other hand was trained to be an assassin. He was trained in the art of efficient killing, in the use of rifles, side arms, military equipment and machinery as well as knives, improvised weaponry and garrotes. He was trained to hunt, extract information, incapacitate and if necessary kill.
Now this mutant mastermind trained these mutants and employed them as mercenaries much to his financial gain. Later before the beginning of the Second World War, a training incident caused an explosion at the facility causing severe damage and the institute’s subsequent discovery and destruction by mutant haters and various government factions. Said Incident came about due to Hades mutation. Only a few mutants were capable of sparing with him and surviving one of which was DK. It was during such a sparring session that they came into contact with each other while activating their mutant powers. The resulting reaction all but blew both Hades and DK to pieces and most of the facility, it was then they also learned that DK was immune to Hades poison.
After the institute’s destruction and with the death of many of their friends Hades and DK went separate ways DK headed to Asia and there founded many martial arts legends. Hades headed towards Europe and the Arabic regions working as a mercenary for hire. His proficiency rapidly gained him respect and reputation. Over the years he has been employed by such illustrious organizations as Mossad, the SAS, Seals and other less reputable groups. Over the years due to his habit of returning from multiple apparent deaths (sometime taking years) most of Hades's clients will list Hades as a potential asset regardless of his reported status. Over the years Hades has also built up a long list of favors with said clients that he can choose to call in at any time.
In the early 2000s Hades encountered a mutant called Hunter Antonescue who inadvertently saved his life. Hades was recruited by Hunter into the Kabal, a mercenary group. For perhaps the first time in his 100+ year lifespan Hades had encountered a Mutant that was older and had more experience than him. The Kabal which was run by hunter was also one of the most professionally run organizations that Hades had encountered. Over the years Hade had been contracted many times but had only ever fully joined a very small number of organizations. Later during the era of the mutant registration plot, Hades with the Kabal and other mutant organizations ran a number of clandestine missions to establish contact with those in the camp. Hades called in a number of favors in the days leading up to the attack on the camps. For those that knew where to look would have observed some of the most skilled spec ops operatives from the SAS, Mossad, Seals, Green Berets etc take holidays around the same time. Hades lead the first strike against the camps, along with his sniper team (his favors). Later in order to buy time and cover the escape of the inmates, after issuing a warning, Hades and Dragon King intentionally embraced and started a chain reaction that resulted in a large explosion. Hade's poisonous essence was spread over more that one square block, killing many of the defenders. That was the last time either Hades or Dragon King were seen...

Sample RP:Ground zero of what was once was the mutant registration camps. For many years after the explosion, the land was barren. the very soil poisoned. Now 5 years later there was the beginnings of trees and grass, a small fishpond and a commemorative plaque. The land was slowly healing, where torture, pain and hatred had once reigned supreme, there was peace. One night, when the moon was hidden by dark clouds, inside a thicket of trees and bushes, a very dim glow began to shine, at first only a point, then growing and rising from the ground a figure could slowly be discerned. After five years Hades was back. Hew was still wearing all black full combat gear with combat damage sustained over 5 years ago, dual 45 pistols, a brace of his characteristic diamond shaped cross sectioned throwing knives, a combat knife..... he looked around from his hidden position and wondered how long he had been gone this time. This last, well explosion, he would probably rang as one of the more painful ones.
Taking off his vest and weapons, well the visible ones at least, he made a bundle and hid them underground. He would return for them later. It was time to make a call. To the casual observer he now appeared to be wearing a well padded running suit although closer inspection would show the armored knee and elbow pads as well as a host of other modifications that had noting to do with the age old sport of running. Reaching a pay phone, Hades dialed a number from memory.
"Hello, this is Sam, who is this" Sam was a Seal who's life had been saved by Hades on a number of occasions. Hades thought for a moment then replied in battle cant.
"Reaper wishes rapturous shedding tombstone emphatically." There was a hiss of drawn breath from the other end of the line, a pause then came the reply.
"Aegis descends tombstone hourglass beta."
The line went dead. Ten minutes later Hades was in a car being driven away with his combat gear safely stowed in the trunk. He was back.
*An explanation of the battle cant used. This is one of many battle cants or methods of coded talk that Hades employs with team members. This particular one is more about the meaning of the words and works better if the people using it know each other well. The format is usually callsign, desired actions, location and time frame. For example Reaper (one of Hades's call signs) wishes (desires) rapture (pickup) shedding ( usually a resupply of equipment or a change of gear) tombstone (location of Hades's last supposed death, also an in joke among colleagues) emphatically (as soon as possible). in short, Reaper requires pickup and a change of clothes at lat known location ASAP. Sam;s response can be equally decoded. Aegis (Sam is a pilot among other things) descends (is coming) tombstone (location) hourglass (timeframe, hourglass means time, time is usually shown on a clock face, so 12 numbers) beta (this is another in joke, if Sam had mentioned a numerical number the count would have been clockwise, so if Sam had said two, that would be see you in two, either hours of minutes. However if he used military alphabet, the count was anticlockwise so see you in ten. Hence Sam's response was I will be at your last known location in ten minutes.*
