The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lots of noise, lots of people. Two things that she wasn't really used to but never really experienced. She liked it though. Everyone around her was in a good mood and all she got was good and happy thoughts in her head. It automaticly made her happy aswel. Nothing to be concerned about when there are only happy things rolling inside your head.
She had made her way trough the crowd and finally reached the bar where you could order drinks. She didn't really have any pockets to keep money, if she had any. The bartender looked at her and she looked back at the bartender. "Uhm, is water free?" She asked the bartender. The bartender rolled his eyes and gave her a water with a straw. Cailyn took the drink and smiled while she turned around and sipped her water with a bit of a long and amazed face. She really had no clue what she was going to do now while she didn't know any people, or could dance for that matter.
A nifty night with nothing on the horizon but endless adventures of the unknown. That was on the list for tonight, but she herself had no clue where her adventures would bring her. She was just wandering the streets in a summer dress because of the weather and else nothing with her. The lights of New York at night always attracted her attention while she passed by numerous homes, appartments and other buildings. But then there was a building that attracted her attention. It was shiney, bright lights and there where two very tall and big men in suits standing at the door. The sound coming from the building could be heard down the street and it sounded like loud dance music and people yelling at each other to make there voices heard.
Cailyn followed her curriousity and approached the two men at the door. She felt like a very tiny person compared to them and she swallowed her breath on time. "Uhmm." She said. "Might i ask what this place is?" she asked as she caught a glimps of what was going on inside when a youngman with a tail walked outside to light a sigaret.
One of the bouncers crossed his arms and looked funny at her. "This here is a club reserved for the gifted, if you know what i mean." he replied to her while nudging his head towards the youngman with the tail.
She pulled a face of non understanding and pondered the thought. "Owwwww." She replied. "You mean mutants." she continued in a bright and happy fashion as if she had broken a code and was proud of it. The bouncer sighed and said "Yes for mutants, if you want to come in you have to register your power here so we can take appropriate countermeasures if needed" he asked her.
Cailyn pulled a wiffey smile. "Sure, i'll do that." She never had been to a special club before, or a party for that matter. "Right this way miss." The bouncer said as he opened the door and walked inside. Cailyn followed him and signed a piece of paper with her name and what she could do. The sound was already blasting in the hallway and shiney lights could be seen through the glass doors at the end.
As she entere the club she saw that is was filled with all types of mutants. Mutants that could fly, looked like half animals, where on fire or frozen, mutants that lifted their drinks without using their limbs. It was like heaven to those who never could be normal in society. With amazement on her face and holding her hand together in front of her she just stood there, adjusting to the shiny light, loud music and the fact that two mutants with wings where making out high against the ceiling. She could hear thoughts and felt their sensations through their thoughts. It was a adventure for her already.
The girl was clearly amazed by the lack of her swimming ability. It was just one of those things on the to do list that she hadn't gotten around to. Not that she ever got near pools or the ocean except for this one time. But that was a mistake all together.
"Don't you worry." She replied to. "I can do way cooler things then swim." She said and smiled to her. Being able to do cooler things then swimming did not mean she could control it all together. She could let go but that would turn the world upside down for the two people close ot her.
However she was a bit hesitating to enter the mansion. Even though the man said it was a school it could be anything else aswel. Voices in her head made her suspicious of everything around her and this building was not excluded. Talk talk talk is all the voices ever did, but never showed her if they told the truth. She always had to find out for herself so she decided to go on a leap of fate and said: "Why don't i take the tour first and then we shall see what the future holds." In her most imitated fortune teller voice.
The mansion was a school. It housed mutants and allot of them. She caught a glimps of some of the thoughts of the inhabitants and they generally weren't thoughts of regular people. It was rather impressive and a little bit mind boggling to keep so many mutants in one place. It could be very dangerous to keep people who might have volitile powers in a school. Never the less she did not complain about it one bit.
"I was never much in school." She simply said and inspected the mansion. "And i can't swim." She replied to the little girl almost at exactly the same time as she said they had a pool. She was a bit preoccupied with keeping her head in one place with so many people in one building. It somehow was hard to focus from time to time, hearing thoughts of other people and the voices from her own mind. She gazed at the mansion in a attempt to keep her mind from getting to crowded.
"Bye." She said to the detective that left the scene as soon as he didn't have to look after the girl anymore. It was a really overly nice goodbye to make sure she didn't come over all the unnice towards him. Not that it mattered since the man didn't really seem to like people allot.
She then turned to the little girl and the asian man named Shin appearently for they where asking the same question. "I don't know, i just go where my feet take me most of the time." She responded and tilted her head a bit with a smile. It was a bit odd even to her that she ended up here at the mansion where she once had been already. But who was to question her feet.
"But what does the mansion do anyways?" She asked to even sound a bit vaguely interrested in the subject of the mansion.
The little girl was happy with her reaction. Mister officer man was not to say the least. She smilled at the little girl. Kids where more fun than adults most of the times. They saw the fun stuff in everything, even bad things.
A young asian man walked down the path to the gate. He seemed to be a resident around this place, which ment he was here for the little girl. The MRC detective however had thoughts that he was luckely keeping to himself. He seemed to be the type of man made of stone who gets annoyed easily. luckely he did get the kick he deserved.
"Hello." she said to the asian man with strange eyes. She turned back to the detective and said: "You should really change you perspective of people if you don't want to get kicked in the shin more often." She didn't need to be psychic to know that he wasn't a people person. With that said and done, she awaited what the asian man would say about that.
There was a girl rushing towards the gate in front of her, jumping up and down to push the button for the gate. She looked like a normal girl exept she had webbed hands and was green. It was a rare sight to see a mutant that looked like her so openly on the streets. Cailyn tilted her head a little at the sight of her as she said to her that nobody was home.
Cailyn bended her knees so she would be at the same hight as the little girl in front of her. "Well." she said to the girl. "This means you have to house to yourself it seems, isn't that more fun." and she smiled as she said that. To bad someone came to ruin her fun.
Brown haired person, with sunglasses on. He looked like a lawenforcer with his sunglasses on. Kind of set Cailyn off a bit. She looked at the man as he talked about the jailbreak and then back to girl. "A jailbreak?" She asked. "Sounds fun can i join." She added and smiled more. She was still a child at heart to and sometimes a little rugrat herself.
She stood back up and heard the other voice on the intercom. Somebody was home. She did not recognize the voice, but why would she. She did recognize the little thoughts that entered her mind. It was as if the man, that revealed to be a Detective named drake from the MRC spoke to her. She frowned at detective drake a little for thinking he would get away from his task so easy.
Cailyn was walking down some streets in New York with a backpack strapped on her back. She had resently left the sanctuary living space in search of something new and fresh to start anew. However finding a living space was harder then she thought. It required more money and surely she had some here and there but not enough to keep things going. She could always just make the manager of the building think she payed though, that wasn't the problem. But it felt dishonest to do something like that and she didn't control her powers like some mutants did. It might even go wrong for her.
However she walked down the street and passed a huge mansion that felt very familiar to her. Passing the gate she walked back and stood in front of it. Through the bars of the gate she could see the mansion. It was big and beautiful and now she remembered what it was. She once build a stairs out of cardboard boxes to climb the wall and eventually stayed there for a short while. It was fun while it lasted.
She hesitated and kept looking at the mansion. There where lot of people in it and around it. That was something she just felt in her body. Maybe she should ring the bell, maybe somebody who remembered her would be the doorman or doorwoman and chat with her a while. Maybe her feeling was wrong and nobody was home. "Never the less, I need a haircut." she thought as her long hair got blown into her face by the wind. She was quickly distracted by anything and continued to just look at the mansion, inspecting it with a glaze in her eyes.
"Yes sun and grass is nice." She replied and gave him a tumbs up. She looked up at the sky a bit and held her hand to keep the sun out of her eyes. Strange things happened around her. People slipping over banana's. Actually knowing the people who do that. But never the day couldn't get any better like this one. It gave her the chance to wear summer dresses and walk in the sun.
"Ow, and you are forgetting more then one thing." She said and let out a little smile. "It is only human." she continued and shook her head a little bit. Thoughts entered her head on a dailly basis but atleast she knew this was his thoughts now. Perhaps it was a bit rude but she couldn't help it anyways. Why not make it into a game. "But i'm not telling what you forgot." She said in a teasing matter.
What brought her to central park. Destiny, Fate or something else? That question could be taken any way. It was silly to go over it to much but that was just the person she was. "Sun, i guess." She said and looked up while she held her hand over her eyes so she could look into the sun. It was a very sunny and nice day to be in the park.
She was doing better? How did that thought get in there. She looked around a bit in awe but then realized that she was talking to someone she had already met once. That was a rare thing for her to meet somebody in the open once again. "Yes i am doing better." She said a bit silently and to herself. It was a cooping mechanism for her to talk to herself when she didn't know how stuff got in her head.
Right at the same he was about to ask her how she was doing she responded to him. "I'm fine, thank you for asking." She replied. It was one of her things to reply to question she knew where going to be asked. Getting info on people was as easy as breathing to her, even though she had no control of what type of info.
"you shouldn't fall on your butt though, it makes you look silly." She said and let out a little laugh that she hid behind her hand. You could hardly say that she had a decent sense of humor. She wasn't all there to begin with anyways. The fact that she found people falling down humorous from time to time showed her childish nature.
She was so busy cleaning stuff up and packing up the essentials, She didn't listen to what her mind said to her. Normally she listened to the thoughts that passed through her head. It made her able to know when people came around corners and stuff from time to time. But if you don't listen, you could never know.
But there was somebody who made her presence clear to her by talking like a normal person. Not many people talked here, or even offered help like the girl did. It was something very rare in the santcuar
Cailyn turned around and looked at her. She had a pet skunk it seemed. That was pretty weird. Not that she had all her marbles. "No thank you." She said politly and made a little bow. "I'm just here for some essentials." She continued and smiled.
With a set of bags and her long hair bound in the tail, she once set foot in her sanctuary room again. She had decided she wanted something else, she wanted to get on her own two feet and see where it took her. The sanctuary could be a bad place for people who couldn't fend for themselves but luckely she had some friends that helped her in fending. But those times where over, she wanted to fend for herself and the sanctuary was no place to learn that.
She stretched and looked around at all the puzzles that where cluttered through the room. There where times that she was locked up here , puzzling for days. But she was here for the necesary stuff, not the puzzles. She picked some up and looked at them to remind her of the joy she had while completing them. Allot of fun indeed.
She loaded clothes and shoes in the bags. those where needed to wear while she was going through for a new place. Coming back for the puzzles was something that she needed later. She just hoped that nobody would steal them.
Taking a deep breath, wrinkled her nose once and started loading her stuff. It wasn't a very warm day so she had to take a coat aswell. The little things to get her settled. She had fun doing this while thinking of the road ahead. It made her started humming a soft song, the song that she heard in her head allot of times which only came out during the activity of her powers. Not allot of people knew the theme.
