The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Cailyn was walking down some streets in New York with a backpack strapped on her back. She had resently left the sanctuary living space in search of something new and fresh to start anew. However finding a living space was harder then she thought. It required more money and surely she had some here and there but not enough to keep things going. She could always just make the manager of the building think she payed though, that wasn't the problem. But it felt dishonest to do something like that and she didn't control her powers like some mutants did. It might even go wrong for her.
However she walked down the street and passed a huge mansion that felt very familiar to her. Passing the gate she walked back and stood in front of it. Through the bars of the gate she could see the mansion. It was big and beautiful and now she remembered what it was. She once build a stairs out of cardboard boxes to climb the wall and eventually stayed there for a short while. It was fun while it lasted.
She hesitated and kept looking at the mansion. There where lot of people in it and around it. That was something she just felt in her body. Maybe she should ring the bell, maybe somebody who remembered her would be the doorman or doorwoman and chat with her a while. Maybe her feeling was wrong and nobody was home. "Never the less, I need a haircut." she thought as her long hair got blown into her face by the wind. She was quickly distracted by anything and continued to just look at the mansion, inspecting it with a glaze in her eyes.

"Alright, you. Keep your nose clean. We're here."
A young mutant with blond hair rushed forward, up to the gates. The girl was young, around 6 years of age, with dazzling blue eyes, webbed fingers, and gills on her green neck. She turned, back towards the middle-aged man in shades and suit, stuck a tongue out, then turned back towards the control panel. She didn't even spare a glance at the weird lady off in her own world standin' around. Because she was too short to reach it by normal means, she hopped and hit the button. "Hey!" She called as the intercom lines lit up for a second, then closed on her end. Feet touched ground again. She turned and frowned at the man in the shades and suit again when she didn't get an answer after 1 second. "Not here!~" She grinned a prankster's grin.
Behind black shades, Ashton watched her impassively. He didn't respond to the attempt of a trick. The little girl was trouble. You wouldn't believe it from how she looked, but she was. Her mutant power wasn't the most destructive, but hey. One didn't need a mutation to cause mayhem. This one had broken into the dolphin tank at the aquarium to swim with the fishies. It had taken a crew to get her out. Not because of any difficulties with the dolphins, mind you. Because she didn't wanna go. She'd gotten away from them, after they'd dragged her out, too. She'd dove back in. They'd had to haul her out twice. Biggest waste of an hour in his life. And now, here he was wasting more time babysitting and dropping her off at the mansion where hopefully, some caring soul could take over his job and babysit some more.
The little girl shivered, clutching her arms around her shoulders. She was still a little damp from swimming in her yellow jumper. Peevishly, she looked around.
Finally, it seemed she'd noticed the lady. Her eyes lit up. Oh boy! Someone else to cause trouble with! Ashton could tell she was already plotting.
"Hey lady! Nobody here!" She grinned, thrusting a thumb towards the mansion. "We go elsewhere. Have fun. I hear dolphins swim good!"
"Don't listen to her," Ashton stated gruffly. "She's already planned one jail break. I'm not letting her manage two." He stepped forward, up to the intercom, nudging the little girl out of the way. He pressed the button. "Anyone? Detective Drake. MRC. I need to drop off a twerp."
The little girl's cheeks puffed out as she rested her hands defiantly on her hips. "Not a twerp!" She grumbled. She didn't like being called a twerp.
Ashton really didn't care, so long as she got out of his hair post haste.
On the other end of the line, an Asian voice responded. "Oh, Drake. Hey! It's Shinbo. Be there in a second."
Oh great, Ashton thought. Pawning her off on someone I know. Hopefully, Shinbo'd have a daycare teacher to handle the girl. Ashton didn't really want to have to apologize. He never apologized... much.
There was a girl rushing towards the gate in front of her, jumping up and down to push the button for the gate. She looked like a normal girl exept she had webbed hands and was green. It was a rare sight to see a mutant that looked like her so openly on the streets. Cailyn tilted her head a little at the sight of her as she said to her that nobody was home.
Cailyn bended her knees so she would be at the same hight as the little girl in front of her. "Well." she said to the girl. "This means you have to house to yourself it seems, isn't that more fun." and she smiled as she said that. To bad someone came to ruin her fun.
Brown haired person, with sunglasses on. He looked like a lawenforcer with his sunglasses on. Kind of set Cailyn off a bit. She looked at the man as he talked about the jailbreak and then back to girl. "A jailbreak?" She asked. "Sounds fun can i join." She added and smiled more. She was still a child at heart to and sometimes a little rugrat herself.
She stood back up and heard the other voice on the intercom. Somebody was home. She did not recognize the voice, but why would she. She did recognize the little thoughts that entered her mind. It was as if the man, that revealed to be a Detective named drake from the MRC spoke to her. She frowned at detective drake a little for thinking he would get away from his task so easy.

>>"A jailbreak?""Sounds fun can i join."
The little girl's face lit up. She nodded quickly. "Mhm!" Her fists were clenched in excitement. This lady got her. She was COOL!
Drake glanced at them skeptically, then sighed to himself. The blond girl was only encouraging her. He hoped Shinbo hurried up. The kid needed to rescue him from what appeared to be two children. One in body and age, one in mind.
As if in response to his thoughts, the Asian mutant with the triangular pupils in his eyes came running towards the gate waving his arm. "Heeeeey!"
"Hi..." Ashton's voice was dull.
Why was he so cheery?
Shin reached the gates and hastily entered the code. After the gates had opened, he popped through them, dropping into a crouch so he was at eye-level with the green girl.
"Hey Kambra. Up to trouble again, I see?"
The green girl only grinned mischievously.
"Good." Ashton said decidedly. "That's everything. I'm leaving you with Shinbo, then. Bye twerp." Ashton turned away, ready to leave.
In a blur of green, the little girl kicked him in the back of the shin. Ashton stumbled to the ground. He whipped his head back towards the twerp. "Hey!"
Kambra giggled to herself. "Teehee."
The Asian sighed, resting a hand on his forehead with a laugh. Kids would be kids.
The little girl was happy with her reaction. Mister officer man was not to say the least. She smilled at the little girl. Kids where more fun than adults most of the times. They saw the fun stuff in everything, even bad things.
A young asian man walked down the path to the gate. He seemed to be a resident around this place, which ment he was here for the little girl. The MRC detective however had thoughts that he was luckely keeping to himself. He seemed to be the type of man made of stone who gets annoyed easily. luckely he did get the kick he deserved.
"Hello." she said to the asian man with strange eyes. She turned back to the detective and said: "You should really change you perspective of people if you don't want to get kicked in the shin more often." She didn't need to be psychic to know that he wasn't a people person. With that said and done, she awaited what the asian man would say about that.

Ashton glowered at the space cadet. Who had invited her into the conversation. "Yeah, okay." He swung his attention away towards Shinbo. "Anyways, like I said. Leaving her to you."
With that, he made his retreat, glad to be rid of the twerp and away from nosy blonds.

"Okay. Bye Drake," Shin said.
He really had nothing to say about what the other woman had said. Kamrba definitely agreed, though. "Hey lady," she grinned. "Are you going to the mansion too?"
That was right. Shin hadn't asked the woman what she was there for. She'd been in front of the gates, hadn't she? Usually, this is where he asked her what was up. So. "Is there a reason you're here? Are you intererested in staying... like Kambra said?"
Kambra looked at Shin appreciatively for actually giving her credit. He was much better than Detective-Man.
"Bye." She said to the detective that left the scene as soon as he didn't have to look after the girl anymore. It was a really overly nice goodbye to make sure she didn't come over all the unnice towards him. Not that it mattered since the man didn't really seem to like people allot.
She then turned to the little girl and the asian man named Shin appearently for they where asking the same question. "I don't know, i just go where my feet take me most of the time." She responded and tilted her head a bit with a smile. It was a bit odd even to her that she ended up here at the mansion where she once had been already. But who was to question her feet.
"But what does the mansion do anyways?" She asked to even sound a bit vaguely interrested in the subject of the mansion.

>>"I don't know, i just go where my feet take me most of the time."
The girl seemed a bit spacy. Shin smiled back at her. Spacy was something he was familiar with. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes, you came upon the most wonderful of stray thoughts.
"The mansion is a place people stay. They also go to school here." Shin replied to her question.
Kambra piped in. "They have a pool! And a hedge maze I got lost in one time..." She seemed proud of the last announcement, despite its connotations and her drop off in tone.
The mansion was a school. It housed mutants and allot of them. She caught a glimps of some of the thoughts of the inhabitants and they generally weren't thoughts of regular people. It was rather impressive and a little bit mind boggling to keep so many mutants in one place. It could be very dangerous to keep people who might have volitile powers in a school. Never the less she did not complain about it one bit.
"I was never much in school." She simply said and inspected the mansion. "And i can't swim." She replied to the little girl almost at exactly the same time as she said they had a pool. She was a bit preoccupied with keeping her head in one place with so many people in one building. It somehow was hard to focus from time to time, hearing thoughts of other people and the voices from her own mind. She gazed at the mansion in a attempt to keep her mind from getting to crowded.

"Can't swim?" Kambra's mouth went wider than some might think humanly possible. "That's... what!?" Shock, horror at the revelation, and... excitement. She rushed forward to grab the nice lady's arm. "I can teach you. 'Kay?"
"Now, Kamrba..." Shin gently reproached the young girl, dropping down to rest his hands on his knees, and look at her, eye-level. "You don't want to overwhelm her. We don't even know if she wants to stay here. And if she doesn't, there might not be time for her to learn to swim."
Kambra pouted, and mourned the loss of a potential series of swimming lessons. In her mind, she raced against time for outs. How could she swing this in her favor? How!? She got a lil teary-eyed, and looked at Shin, clenching her fists in front of her. She opened her mouth, loudly. "Puhleeeeeeze?"
A bead of nervous sweat ran down Shin's good-natured brow.
The girl was clearly amazed by the lack of her swimming ability. It was just one of those things on the to do list that she hadn't gotten around to. Not that she ever got near pools or the ocean except for this one time. But that was a mistake all together.
"Don't you worry." She replied to. "I can do way cooler things then swim." She said and smiled to her. Being able to do cooler things then swimming did not mean she could control it all together. She could let go but that would turn the world upside down for the two people close ot her.
However she was a bit hesitating to enter the mansion. Even though the man said it was a school it could be anything else aswel. Voices in her head made her suspicious of everything around her and this building was not excluded. Talk talk talk is all the voices ever did, but never showed her if they told the truth. She always had to find out for herself so she decided to go on a leap of fate and said: "Why don't i take the tour first and then we shall see what the future holds." In her most imitated fortune teller voice.
