Rules ~Characters have to willingly post their characters in the thread ~However, pranks can be pulled and people can enter their friends ~The money has to be a reasonable amount, and your character should have some access to the amount of money. ~No one can reserve a character.
Katrina would totally run something like this IC, especially as a fund raiser for the mansion's ultimate frisbee team. I'd recommend that the thread actually be an IC silent auction, so people can RP going up to the board and writing the amount they want to bid. I think it sounds like a lot of fun!

Playing out the bids and character intros and such IC might be a bit more interesting than everyone just PMing a Mod account, but that also depends on how many people are interested and how bogged down said IC thread could become as a result.

That sounds really cool! But we'd have to figure out who all is participating, then maybe create the master list before people vote on others. So maybe the first thread with people posting their characters should be made, and have a certain "Post-by" date. Then the IC thread can happen?

If this was for the Frisbee Team, both Calley and Slate would easily be suckered in by Kat's kat!eyes, thus putting their man!bodies up for monetary transactions. They'd even let her dress them up pretty.
I'd also vote for an IC silent auction thread (probably with the "one or two posts per day per player, no posting order" rule that's worked for the big threads like Ghosty & Sebby's wedding to keep them moving), and a complete relaxing of the "you can't call OOC dibs" rule your other RP site uses. Because sometimes it's funny to plan ahead for the worst possible date match... That way we also don't need to wait for the main thread to wrap up before we get on with the dates.
PS: If Gawain was entered, Maxine would come to bid. If only to break cute li'l Ami's cute li'l piggy bank...
