The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Frozen in place, Abby could only watch as the other girl screamed in pain and proceeded to fall to the floor. Heart pounding, she stood there until the whimpering of the other girl caught her ear.
>>"Please make it stop"
The light! That was the only change! Maybe... Abby wasn't sure what caused the redness she watched appear on the girl's limbs. What could cause that?
"How-" her voice cracked. Trembling a little, she looked towards the door, wondering if she should get help. Like adult help. "What do I do?" she asked quietly.

Abby had debated going to the advertised movie night as soon as she heard about it. While the idea of skipping curfew was fun in theory, the little sharkmaid didn't really have a reason to worry about her curfew. So long as she let Papa know where she was, if she wasn't in the Mansion, she didn't really worry. But there could be other people at the movie night. People she hadn't met before and making friends was always a good thing. She had more friends now than she knew what to do with honestly, but didn't see why she should stop making friends.
Peeking into the living room, the little blonde spotted the stranger first. Her skin was grey! Like her legs were! The stranger had wings instead of a tail... Abby stopped the thought as she spotted another appendage on the woman. She did have a tail, just not like Abby's tail. Glancing around to see if anyone else was there, she finally spotted Cafas.
"Papa!" she called as she skipped over to her father-figure. "Are you going to watch movies too?" Oops. She had probably interrupted the adults. Turning to the grey woman, the little blonde smiled shyly. "Sorry. I didn't mean to. I'm Abby."

Abby blinked as the black haired girl ignored her and walked away. Well, that was a new way of dealing with their banter. Then the sharkmaid noted what store the older girl went into. Bosom Buddies. Great, the one Abby knew she needed to stop at before going home. Having grown since she first got a bra, the every day ones were now ill-fitting. Though at least this time it would be an in-and-out visit.
Internet was wonderful with helping her figure out her new size. She knew there would be some differences between different makers, since the internet told her to be careful of that as well, but she was relatively certain she could get the right size and get out of the embarrassing store quickly.
Sighing, she picked up her bags and followed behind Astrid at a slower rate. They may be going to the same place but that didn't mean they had to go together.

"Gross? Really? I'm not the sable calamity here," Abby shot back. She set her bags down on the floor a bit away from her feet, against the side of the storefront for safety. She had enough experience with this harpy to know how it could go.
Taking another look at Astrid, she noticed that the coat was most likely hiding the pitch black wings. Or maybe they were crystal at the moment, though that didn't seem very helpful in a place like this.
"Let's see. I count at least five different shades of black. You can't even do that much right with your wardrobe, can you?"

A bulky black shape caught her attention out of the corner of her eye. Turning slightly as the shape stopped, Abbigail stopped one of the people she had been thinking about. Astrid. Wearing a black coat and black dress. And boots.
Cocking her hip like the girls on tv did, the little blonde stared at the French girl. "Wow, black on black. Very original." There. Not much to go on and didn't even insult herself on accident! Her jacket was a deep purple after all, not black. Her boots may have been black but at least Abby used color. "How have you been, Astrid? she asked, her words drawn out so the non English native could understand. She may have sounded just a little condescending. Just a teensy tiny bit.

Frowning at the lump, Abby went for her final and most effective technique. One her mommy had used many mornings on her. Moving to the foot of the bed, she grabbed the blankets and pulled. The comforter can all the way to the bottom of the bed, but she only managed to bring the sheet halfway. Not as good as mommy, but should be enough to wake someone up.

Looking for presents was harder than usual. Or at least, it was harder than it had been for Christmas at least. Though it might be because she felt uncomfortable. Trying new styles of clothes was supposed to be a new experience. Though maybe next time she wouldn't be doing errands when she tried new looks.
But she had set out to find Momma Maya her birthday present. She had enough money now. Meeting Juliette and setting up a job with Sam had been very helpful on her wallet. The shop she was in was supposed to be a tea shop. Because Momma liked tea and tea parties. There was more than just tea though. The store had lots of mugs and tea sets and all sorts of things she had no idea about. The mug part was fun to look through.
She found a pink and white striped mug that reminded her of Papa's hair, which she picked up because it reminded her of Papa. There was another one that was painted with swans which made her think of Panu. She wasn't sure if she would give this one to her friend or keep it, but it was cool to her. There was a wolf one she grabbed for Adder since he liked tea too. Finding one in the back, Abby was shocked at who it reminded her of.
Astrid. The annoying kidnapping french girl who probably doesn't have an actual home. She had only really seen the winged girl's crystal wings, but it was memorable. Not really thinking about it, the little blonde grabbed the mug and moved to pay for her collection. It was a pretty cup after all, no reason to leave it because of bad memories.
After paying (which caused her to have far less money than planned left over) and taking the carefully wrapped bags, she left the store. Taking a moment outside in the mall corridor, she wondered what to do next. She could go home or stay and look around some more. Hmmm.

Frowning at the lump on the bed, Abby tried to think of how to wake her guest. Poking didn't work. The light didn't work. What else could she do?
She had a vague idea that she needed to get an adult. Why she did, the little blonde wasn't sure. Maybe the person on her bed? Moving back over to the bed, she tried poking again.
"Didn't you wanna talk to someone?" she asked, poking a little harder than before.

Abby blinked at the... teasing? between the two women. The little blonde hadn't spent a lot of time with multiple women before. Was this normal? Teasing seemed like it was. But how did you know what was fun and what wasn't? She'd have to ask Cafas when they got back.
The walk was longer than Abby thought it would be. She didn't know distance really well, but she thought they went far from where they left the car. Her legs were a little heavy, but she ignored it. Once they got inside she could sit. Standing on her toes, she could see over the lacy half curtain into the restaurant. It looked really pretty! Almost like a fancy tea party place!
Gasping, Abby turned to Maya. "Are we gonna have a tea party?" She tried to keep her excitement down, but her face showed her joy at the idea. Aunt Teresa never let her have a tea party, even if it had only been her toys that would join. And she didn't have a lot of girl friends at school. A tea party! A real, adult tea party!

Whoever she had let into her room, they weren't getting up just from her poking them a bit. Giving up with that avenue, she went to her window. Usually she kept the curtains somewhere at half open for sunlight. Right now they were closed though. Taking a hold of one of the curtains, Abby pulled it all the way open before getting the other side.
"Wakey, wakey," she called as the early morning light shined into her room.

Abby blinked at the strange description of Simon. Who was apparently related to Maya and... sorta dating Isabel. Adults were weird if that was how they stated they were dating someone. Or maybe Isabel was just weird. That could be it.
>>"Uhm. I see a cafe and a cart on the corner. Unless you want to go somewhere fancier? Your choice, Abbigail. But maybe Cafas' treat this time."
"Ummmmm, some place we sit and don't have to get back up for food?" she offered. The little blonde was pretty sure that you had to get up to get food at cafes and there wasn't really any place to sit with a cart. But she wasn't sure she wanted to go someplace fancy either. "Can I put the bag in the car before we eat?"
I want to offer Abby (cause she's my mutant baby) for this cause but idk how she would be involved. She'd be sorta recognizable due to the Peace Rally though

Abby dreamed of forests and owls that talked and ladies in lakes. It was all very strange. Though while dreaming it wasn't strange. Dream logic. But as she woke up from her dream, the little sharkmaid realized the strangeness of her dream.
She stretched in her bed. She could kind of remember walking to her room after waking up at Adder's. Which was good. Sometimes she didn't even remember that much of her movie nights with her brother. But... there was something itching at her about the last night.
Sitting up she looked around her room. There was... someone in the other bed. Or at least there was something causing a bump in the bedding. Slipping out of her bed, she tried to remember where the other person came from. There weren't any bags that she could see that would indicate she was getting a roommate. So who was it and where did they come from?
As she made her bed, Abby tried to remember her walk to her room. The only thing she could really remember is telling Adder she was just going to bed and then leaving the room. Then... sleep. That's all she remembered. But her instincts weren't yelling at her to run or anything like that so the other person wasn't a threat. Most likely.
Sitting on her now made bed, she looked back at her dream. Sometimes things bled over into her dreams from reality. She could remember the few times she thought her dreams were just dreams but gave her clues to her sleepy adventures. In her dream, the talking owl had been looking for her nest which she had left due to the lady in the lake asking for help finding her sister who had been lost in the forest. So from that... either the person in the other bed was looking for someone or they were looking for a place to rest.
Hopping off her bed, Abby went to check on the person in the other bed. "Morning," she called before poking the person. "Are you getting up?"

>>"Child labour laws are...not that big of a deal in this particular case."
Oh. Right. Laws. "I'll be fourteen in April," she offered. Though she was pretty sure there weren't any exceptions for thirteen year olds. Uh-oh. Could the pocket money she gets from her Aunt and Uncle be enough until April? Probably not. Abby wanted to buy presents for all her friends for Christmas. She had enough for her Aunt and Uncle and Papa and Maya. She was in eighth grade after all. Almost an adult!
Kind of... Maybe...
>>"...paper cut from a form. I would imagine you'll be sorting it rather than throwing it out, though."
Abby smiled at Juliette. "Sorting I can definitely do." She nodded with as much confidence as she could muster. She really hoped Sam would let her do this. It would be a lot of help for her.
