The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby vaguely heard the apologetic boy's explanation for the scene. And the guard's disbelief. She kept her eye on Astrid though. Finally the screaming stopped and the other girl seemed to be able to pay attention again.
"Astrid?"
>>"You four are going to need to come with me. You have some explaining to do. Oh, and if you don't I'll be calling the cops. And your parents. I'm sure that none of you want that, do you?"
"Yes, sir. If you could give us a minute? I wanna make sure she's okay," Abby explained, eyeing the blood tipped feathers.
"That's alright," the guard furthest from the girls stated. "I'll take these boys and get their statements. Greg, you good to stay with them?"
The guard near them, Greg, nodded. "Yeah. Might as well keep them separate. What's your friend need, sweetheart?"
Not sure herself, Abby looked back at the older girl. "Astrid?" she asked again.

Abby was watching the boy pick up his friend when Astrid started to scream. Whipping around, she saw the winged girl... pulling on her wings. She was pulling out feathers by the handful. Not paying anymore attention to the boys, the blonde raced over to her friend.
"Astrid, easy. Easy." The more feathers she pulled out, the more worried Abby became. She had done some looking after they first met. New mutations were always fun to try to figure out. Grabbing hold of Astrid's hands, Abbigail pulled them away from the feathered appendages. "It's okay. Breathe with me, Astrid."
Taking a deep breath, the small girl became to exaggerated her breathing, hoping her somewhat-friend would follow her lead. Holding their hand's tight together, she completely ignored the security guards when they came. All her focus was on Astrid.

Having the winged girl on her side was a new feeling. That the older girl even took a hit at the idiot boy made Abby feel better about taking the cheap shot. She scoffed as the boy went fully down and sent a smile to Astrid. The other girl looked shocked, which was probably because of her actions. Abby probably hadn't seemed like the kind of person to do that.
(And normally she wouldn't. But she was angry and embarrassed because of Astrid and the boys just added to that. The one who threatened her... was really just an easy target.)
Watching most of the other boys flee was amusing. Abby was shorter than all of them. Just goes to show you can't judge someone by their appearance. The last boy standing, who was also the one who apologized, moved to help his friend. The blonde watched as he helped the idiot to his feet.
"I hope he realizes what a good friend he has in you," she told him. Honestly. She wasn't going to hit any others of their group. The redhead would have been the only other target. At least this boy apologized.

Astrid's call was all the encouragement Abby needed for her actions. These jokers thought they could insult them and get away with it. If it was Astrid by herself... the little blonde wondered if the older girl even knew what all was implied.
The apology from one of the boys was nice. At least someone realized they were wrong.
Then one of the other boys moved closer, even leaning into her space. She listened as he called her kiddo, told her she didn't know what she was saying (which yes, most of it was just things she'd heard others say but she knew they were insults), tell her he was "older and bigger and smarter" than her, and then threaten her.
Abbigail scoffed inside. This boy wasn't anything. She took lessons on self-defense from X-Men. This boy was nothing. And he was leaving himself wide open. Putting on her best pout, the one that she used to use on Daddy, Abby ducked her head a little.
"I'm sorry," she whimpered. Then as the boy moved to lean away from her, she struck. The dress she was wearing made her slower than she'd like, but she was still faster than the boy could react. Her leg went high enough to hit him wear it hurt though. "But if you think you're smarter than me, I think you need to take another look."
Dropping her leg, she moved closer to Astrid. Worst thing she could do was give him an easy hit. She smiled smugly as the boy groaned, grabbed his crotch, and fell to his knees.

>>"Smelt the cooking, wanted some before rush hour started."
Picking up the simmering syrup, Abby began to pour the liquid over the lattice crust. "I understand that. A lot of the time it's best to either wake up early or make your own food," she giggled. She had been rather careful about what time she woke up when she first got to the school. When she finally learned how to cook it wasn't so bad. Now she was more likely to cook for others than just herself.
Checking that the oven was preheated, the blonde got her pie in the oven. Making note of the time, she turned to sit with her new friend. Tilting her head at his question she thought back to the recipe as she sat down across from him. "It'll be done baking after about an hour. Fifteen minutes at the higher temperature then thirty to forty-five at three-fifty. So yeah, about an hour. I'm Abby by the way. What's your name?"

The pain-filled plea had Abbigail moving as quick as she could to the window. She tripped a little over her own feet but wrapped the fabric around her hands and pulled the curtains shut. Huffing a little she turned around to look into her now very dark room. She couldn't see under the bed from where she was standing, but she hoped the other girl wasn't hurt more.
"What-" A gulp of air made her pause. "What can I do now?"

Abby shuffled her feet a little as the other girl inspected the gift. She hoped Astrid liked it. When she was thanked, a wide grin stretched across her face. That was probably the first time they had talked without snarking at each other.
>>"Only certain kinds of girls get their bras from there, you know."
Muscles tensed, the blonde looked over at the group of boys. A tall redhead grinned at her. "Yeah, but those are the kinds who know how to..." the boy trailed off and made a lewd gesture.
Baring her shark-sharp teeth, Abby let a hiss leave through her teeth. "You couldn't even get a two-cent whore to touch a disease ridden, little **** like you. I doubt you even know what to do if they did accept your sperm covered money."

Abby giggled as Sam read from the paper in his head. It didn't sound all that secret-y but maybe it was just the first paper he grabbed. Hearing she was hired made her jump a little.
Abby didn't actually know what would be a good amount of money to be paid. So she said the first number that popped in her head. "Eight?" Eight seemed like a good number. She knew some of the older teens had jobs that paid about that much, if she remembered right. "And I can keep all the secrets!" she told him proudly. There weren't too many people she would tell anyway. And if Sam wanted it to be secret she could do that. "I promise I'll work really hard. You won't regret it!"
>>"What do you say, want to go talk to Doc Prof, or leave it at that?"
"Uh," she paused. She had a job now. Was there really a reason to go see the Doc? Would it be like asking for too much. Shaking her head, Abby decided. "No, I think I should only do one."

Astrid's question and hesitance to take the mug made Abby pause. She thought it was pretty obvious that the mug and Astrid's crystal wings were connected in some way. Keeping her arm steady, the blonde responded.
"I figured you would like it," Abby shrugged. "You know, since it kinda reminded me of your wings." Was that enough to explain? She wasn't sure, but she had offered the gift and wasn't going to just take it back if the winged girl wanted it. Though her arm felt a little shaky holding the mug out like she was.

The little blonde bounced on her toes as the trio entered the cafe. Tea party! This was going to be so much fun! It looked like a princess cafe as she looked around. She caught a few glimpses of cats roaming around but didn't really understand until they were seated and the waitress was talking to them. She really should have paid more attention but once she saw the kittens with the waitress, the teens attention was focused on the cute baby cats.
There was a tortoise shell kitten hiding in the corner of the apron. Half it's face was the lighter brown color of the coat. Bright green eyes peered around it's siblings at Abby. A single paw with a stripe of white in the middle of the top of the paw escaped the top of the apron and waved at the girl.
As their waitress mentioned adoption Abby recalled the school's rules on pets. She got away with her fish tank since it wasn't like her fish could go walk around, but a kitten or puppy probably wouldn't be allowed. She still wasn't sure how Adder got his kitten.
>>"I would like to hold one, please. Abbigail?"
Abby turned to look at Maya in wonder. "I can hold one?"
The woman standing in front of their table laughed. "Course you can, Hun. Looks like little Drizzle here's taken a liking to you. Wanna hold her?" Nodding quickly, Abby bounced a little as the waitress handed over the kitten. "I'm a little shocked, honestly. She's been pretty shy since she and her litter-mates got here."
Green eyes stared into equally green as the kitten and girl watched each other. Abby was the first to blink. In her triumph, the kitten climbed onto the girl's shoulder and laid there. Abby didn't really pay much attention to the adults. She was too enamored with her kitten.

Abby beamed at the new possible resident. The sound of popping bubbles made her turn back to her syrup. It was boiling! Setting the heat to low, she double checked her apple slices. Not as pretty as she really wanted but still. Now she had to put the top on the crust. This was the part she was new to. Usually she just did a full top crust. This time she was doing a lattice!
Glancing over her shoulder, she watched the new person eat. Manners could be better, but he wasn't any worse than the hordes of students when there was a limited amount of something people wanted. Turning back to her work, she started to lay the stripes of crust over the apples.
"I'm surprised someone's up this early. Did you sleep well or was it something else?" Huh, that may not have been the best question. She didn't know this person and asking questions like that might be considered rude. "You can ignore if you want. I'm hyper and I've been up awhile now," she added to be on the safe side.

It took a moment for Abby to understand exactly what the older girl said. When she did, a wave of embarrassed anger filled her. As her face tinted pink with the emotion, the blonde turned back to the line. By the time she got her emotions under control, she was at the front. Paying for her purchases, she slid away from the counter and over to a display just inside the door.
Shifting through her purchases, she figured out which of her bags had the least in it. Finding it, she slipped the Bosom Buddies bag inside. No need to advertise where she went. Now what else did she have to do today?
She got presents. New bras. Oh! That's right the crystal mug. Pulling the newspaper wrapped mug out of the bags, she waited until Astrid was close enough for her to shove the item at the older girl. "Here."

Putting the apples into the pie crust wasn't hard per say. It was just that she was trying to make it as pretty as she could. The little blonde knew the baking process would change things but she was a little bored waiting on the syrup to boil. She was currently trying to make a flower like shape out of apple slices. It was amusing and even if she couldn't really make a flower it gave her ideas.
The shuffle of feet on the floor caught Abby's attention and she looked over her shoulder to spot the person making their way to breakfast. A new person too! She didn't recognize the red hair (fur?) the new person had.
"Morning!" she chirped. "I've got bacon and eggs and oatmeal and toast over there. There's coffee and juice and milk in the fridge. Glasses are," she hopped down and opened the correct cabinet, "here. If you need anything, just ask, okay?"

Slipping into the store without Astrid seeing her was easier than she thought. Finding the right size, less so. She had grown but not by much. Being a 30A instead of a 38AA wasn't much a difference, but the old bras fit weird now. Best to get new ones. Picking a few of what she now knew as sports bras and a few of the regular types too. And one push up because she was interested even though she probably wouldn't like it.
Standing in line, behind a rather loud lady with a leather... thing in her hands, the little blonde ignored the awkwardness she felt. At least, until Astrid moved to stand behind her with a lacy, black bra in her hands.
Rolling her eyes, Abby checked the line. Still two people in front of her. Dang. Well, might as well. "Why do you like black so much?" she asked the winged girl, actually wanting to know.
