The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby giggled a little as the older girl admitted to being lost as well. Smiling big and wide at the girl, she went on to assure her it was alright. "That's okay. Can we still try to get out together? Two heads are better than one after all."
Putting her homework, notebook, and textbook into her bag, the blonde stood up from her spot on the ground. Doing a slow turn, she checked to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Trying to get back here to find something she lost would probably be as hard as finding their way out. Another check just to make doubly sure.

Abby nodded at the older girl's explanation. That was close to why she had been in the maze to begin with. Turning her attention back to her homework, the blonde set about finishing her task. "Me too. But I got lost in here," she explained.
This last problem was a graphing one and she always tried to get her lines as straight as she could on her first try. She hated having to erase and start all over. Made the paper messy. Sticking out her tongue as she concentrated, Abbigail used the side of her notebook to make the line.
There!
There was still light out but it was getting later. Dinner would be soon. Probably. "Do you think you could help me?" she asked. "Dinner should be soon and I don't really wanna spend the night out here." The teen giggled at the thought. It wouldn't be so bad. Cafas would find her. Or Adder. But still. Food.

She was just beginning the second to last problem when someone cleared their throat. Jumping a little, Abby looked around before finding someone by the tree. Waving at the person, who sounded female and looked to have long hair but that wasn't much of an indicator. "Hi," she replied.
Looking around, the blonde tried to figure out what else she could say. School was kinda boring. Everyone had school here. Mutations were kinda a thing no one asked about unless they were used. The maze? Weather? Uh...

Well it was official. Abby was lost.
The new growth of the hedge maze did nothing to help her find her way. Originally just wanting a place to work on her homework, the shifter had made her way to one of the gazebos in the maze. It was one of the few places she could find without getting lost. Of course when she got there, it was already taken by some... affectionate older students.
Abby decided to move on and find a different one to work at. Which led her to where she was now. Sitting in the middle of a three-way crossing, trying to figure out how to get out. Even with the hedges just beginning to grow leaves, the maze was effective. It did it's job. A little too well for the blonde teen.
Instead of further trying to find her way out, and probably get even more lost, Abbigail had decided to just sit and do her homework. It would still take her a while to find the exit, but at least she wouldn't have to worry about her homework while she looked.
Math wasn't too hard this time of year. Most of the work was review for the state tests. They were covering the beginnings of algebra and some simple geometry, but it wasn't as hard as history for her. She groaned a little at the thought. History was so hard. Why did people fight all the time?

Abby took a look at all the movies Mis- Gina had. There were a few titles she knew, like Inside Out and Hunger Games. She giggled a little when she spotted one of Papa's movies in the mix.
>>"Uuhhh, hey, I, uh, heard there was a movie night?"
"Chase!" the blonde squealed, taking only a moment to check that she wouldn't touch his skin, and pounced on him for a hug. She giggled a little as he greeted her, Papa, and Mi- Gina. "Since we're first we get to pick," she chirped at her friend. Chase was her first friend in the Mansion. And though they weren't always together, they were still the best of friends.

Character
Personality: Abbigail as a child was kind and sweet and shy. She was a little spoiled by her parents, but she wasn't a huge brat. These facts stayed with her as she grew up alone in the water. She was still kind, often helping trapped marine life when human items threatened them and helping those shipwrecked near her. She was still shy and kept mostly to herself. She has some remora that stick with her as she travels and lives. She considers them friends of a type. Having spent so long alone, she is not used to speaking in the same sense as humans. Mutations
Mutation description: Shark-maid (Shark Tail Shift) When submerged in water, her legs will be covered in small placoid scales, the scales of a shark or ray. The tail is dark gray in color. There are spots and stripes on her tail, signaling her as an adolescent. Small dorsal and anal fins grow out of the scales to help with swimming while her scales cover her feet completely, adding three and a half extra feet to her body. Some of the extra length is made up of her caudal fin. The skin under her chin lengthens and hardens to cover newly formed gills.
Abbigail's bone structure strengthens to make sure her underwater movements go as needed. As the scales come out of the small spaces between her regular leg scales, the transformation is a painful process. Her gill formation is also painful as they grow out of her trachea and emerge from the harden skin. The complete shift takes about three minutes for Abby to be able to think past the pain. Once her gills leave the oxygenated water, the scale flake off leaving large patches of scales behind until her legs are free of the extra scales.
Strengths:
Great swimmer
Can breathe under water
Can "see" in the dark with her lateral line this occurs only in water due to the nature of the lateral line
Has a really good sense of smell when shifted
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Can only shift when in water
Shift only lasts as long as her gills are completely submerged (several inches of oxygen-rich water off of the surface of the skin)
Her body is sensitive to touch due to her lateral line picking up the vibrations across her skin
Shifting between forms is painful, such that it takes a few minutes for Abby to think straight
Power Growth(s): Armor Scales (03/02/2017) The discoloration of Abby's legs is just the beginning of a facet of her mutation. The discolored skin is changing into the placoid scales of sharks and rays. These scales will add a natural armor to Abby's body. Instead of her skin growing to cover her tail, more scales will grow rapidly to cover her mutation. When she looses her tail, the extra scales will flake off. Though the scales help streamline her body in water, on land her scales add weight to her body. Strength:
Natural Armor on most of her body
Weakness:
Adds ~30lbs to Abby's total body weight
Fighting Style
Explanation: Bite or Swim She doesn't know how to fight. Her instincts and long time alone help her survive in the sea. Her instincts tell her what is safe to attack and what will cause her harm. She has been shifted for so long though, that she does not know how to have legs. Pros for fighting style: Teeth, instincts Cons for fighting style: Absolutely no clue what to do with legs.
History Of Your Character Abbigail grew up in a normal home with a mother and father until she was six. Before her sixth birthday, she was given the love of her family and never wanted for anything. Her mother stayed home to take care of her while her father ran a very popular real estate business. Abby knew only a little about mutants and the on-goings of the world.
On her tenth birthday, the Clark family took a boat out to take a small three day vacation. The first day was filled with laughter and fun for Abby. However, a storm was brewing. In the middle of the night, the thunderstorm hit the family's boat. Abbigail and her mother were tossed from the boat as her father hit his head on the railing. The two females watched as the boat was hit by a large wave and turned over.
As the storm ended, it became apparent that Mrs. Clark was bleeding deeply. As a last resort, Mrs. Clark told her daughter "Whatever happens, you have to keep your head above the water. Help will come." With those last words, the older woman let go of the lifesaver they clung to. Abbigail watched as her mother drown next to her.
Hours after her mother's death, Abbigail noticed something swimming around her. As the swimming object got closer she saw that it was a migrating shark. The shark had sensed the blood from her mother and had come to catch its prey. As Abby tried to find a way to stay away from the terrifying creature, it struck. Some of the blood clinging to Abby was causing the shark to attack her.
On reflex, Abby let go of the lifesaver and covered her head as she sunk into the water. The shark's teeth missed any vital organs, but cut into her left arm. As blood poured from her, Abbigail felt her body change. She felt a pain in her legs and around her neck. Thinking that she was dying, she let her body simply float. After several minutes of floating, she noticed that she could breathe. Taking a look at her body, she discovered her mutation. The shark that had previously attacked her was watching her as it circled around.
Abbigail felt her body react to the sea beast and felt a rush of water pass by her as a burst of speed got her away from the shark. Unfortunately, this led her further from land. Not knowing how far she was, as hunger began to set in, her mutation's instincts took over. She found a school of fish and proceeded to hunt.
Not knowing how to get home, or even if she could have legs again, the young girl made the choice to stay at sea. Her parents were dead after all. And she seemed to be able to survive on her own in the water. The next few months were spent learning her new body and how to live in the sea. Her waterlogged clothes had been destroyed by the currents and coral, leaving her only with scales to cover her. She was a predator under the water. Sleek and smart, she had very little to worry about.
It had been over a year by the time she had approached land again. She had ended up off the coast of Africa. While she was interested in what she saw, her instincts had her stay far from sight of the people. This ended up being a pattern for her. She would spend some time near populated areas before setting off into the ocean again. She needed only what she had and wanted for nothing as she believed she could never be “human” again.
As she got older, she got more adventurous and would get closer to cities and sometimes even spend time at the bottom of harbors. Now not so afraid of people, she helped shipwrecked souls stay alive as best she could. Without being seen. Mostly she kept other predators away and sometimes tried to move rafts closer to search boats if she could. A few of the people she helped saw her and told tales of how they survived. These were usually believed to be hallucinations by authorities. Though word of her had reached SUPER and she was believed to be a mutant by them, they had yet to catch her.

Abby blinked at Isabel's response to her question. "Do you like dogs instead?" she asked. Usually people who liked one didn't like the other. At least that's what she thought. Abby herself liked both. Adder was a wolf and she liked kitties too.
Drizzle was content to sit on her shoulder and purr. The low rumbling had Abby reaching to scratch a bit on her head. She giggled as Maya looked at her kitten after he bit her.
"Here you go, ladies." The waitress spotted the battle going on at the other side of the table. "I'll be back with some more silverware and your food in a bit."
>>"Can you pour the tea, Abbigail? I gotta tire him out."
"Sure," she smiled before carefully reaching for the pot and beginning to pour each of them a cup. She took her time to make sure she didn't spill any, and to keep her shoulder kitten. Once finished she beamed at Isabel, who wasn't occupied with a kitten.

I have questions!
Since there's SUPER, are Metabots still a thing? How are visible mutants treated by the public? Would the 'cure' be something worked towards in this universe?

Nurse? Juliette was a nurse. Would she be up? Maybe. Abby wasn't sure. Doc Prof would be up! He always had the infirmary open early. "I'll go get someone. I'll be back as fast as I can. Promise," she swore as she raced to her door and out of the room.
She knew the route to the infirmary almost by heart now. The earliness of the morning meant the halls were empty and silent. It probably took a whole ten minutes to get down to Doc, but the blonde was very happy to see the man.
"Abbigail, what's the matter?" he asked when she stopped in the door.
"There's a girl in my room who's hurt and needs help," she panted.
"Well then," he got up from his chair and turned the girl around, "let's get going."
Abby pulled Doc the rest of the way into her room. She didn't know how long she had been gone, but she hoped the other blonde was okay. "She's under the bed."
"Alright. Do you think you can come out a little for me, dear?" he asked as he slowly put himself on the floor by the bed.

"Nice to meet you, Ms. Gina," Abby smiled. She would usually shuffle towards Papa because the person was new but Miss Gina had grey skin! Sticking out her leg, easily showing off their similar trait due to her sleep shorts. "Look! We match!" she giggled.
The small teen smiled as her Papa praised her. She liked making him and Momma proud.
>>"It's nice to see you, by the way. Sorry I had to be gone so long. Next time maybe I can take you to the set, but this one was a little too dry and dangerous."
She beamed at the idea of joining him as he worked. A mischievous smile wound up on her face. "That's okay. I don't think I'd like dry. Maybe the next one will be near water?" Then she and Papa could go swimming. She turned her attention back to Miss Gina as Cafas asked his question. What would they be watching?

>>"We leave now?"
Abby stood up after Astrid. Letting the older girl have the lead now. Whatever had happened would probably have shaken her quite a bit. She didn't want to push her.
"I'll need a way to contact if there are any discrepancies with the video," Greg explained.
Abby piped up first, not sure how the winged girl would react to that request. "I can give you my number. I can let Astrid know if you need anything." Not that she actually knew how to contact the other girl. Panu could probably help with that. There was obviously digital records of this already.
The guard nodded and took down the information. After that he told the girls to "be careful" and went to check on his partner. Looking around the mall, most of the watchers had left for their own shopping and such.
"Ya know, I think I'm gonna get a sandwich myself. Want another one?" she asked the other girl. Leaving Astrid alone would probably be what the other girl wanted, but Abby was hungry and, if the way she had demolished that sandwich was any idea, so was Astrid.

She was happy the other girl took the food and water. It made Abby feel better about the whole thing. She was even more grateful when the black haired girl helped her find the right word for what happened. The guard sputtered at Astrid's one word answer to Abbigail's plight. The blonde pointed to the black haired girl and nodded.
"They... They did?" Greg asked.
"Yeah. Then I told them they wouldn't have a chance with any, um, whores," Abby continued. The boys would probably tell the other guard about the injuries. Cameras would probably show those too. "One apologized for calling us that. Another threatened us. I kinda kicked him and Astrid hit him in the back. Most of the group ran at that point. Then the one who apologized went to help the one who threatened us up. Then..." She paused.
Abby wasn't actually sure how to explain what happened to Astrid. Since this was true and the younger girl didn't think the winged one would what to rehash that bit, she just motioned to the bloody feathers on the ground. Greg nodded to show he understood where she was going with that.
"How're you feeling now, sweetheart?" he asked Astrid.

Water! She could do that. Jumping to her feet, Abby raced to a nearby sandwich shop. There were quite a few people watching them. Enough so the person at the counter was ready to help out without much fuss. Abby bought a water bottle and a pre-made sandwich. After she had a panic attack, she always got hungry afterwards. Best to be prepared.
As she got back to Astrid and Greg-the-mall-cop, she heard the tail end of Greg's question.
"...tell me what happened?"
Sitting herself down next to the black haired girl, Abby held out the bottle. "I got the water. And a sandwich if you want it." If she didn't, the blonde would eat it herself.
"You're a good friend, miss..." the guard trailed off.
"Abbigail."
"Miss Abbigail, would you mind telling me what happened?"
"Well, Astrid and I were coming out of the store and..." She paused unsure how to explain it. "Those boys came up and said some things about... And one of them in-sin-you-ated that we would... Um..."

Abby giggled as Maya's kitty started climbing the curtain. Lemon tea was interesting. Abby took a look at the menu to see if anything caught her eye. The baby cupcake Maya recommended was yummy looking.
>>"There's a croissant shaped like a chubby baby cygnet too."
She didn't know what a cygnet was, but a croissant sounded yummy. "Can I have both? And some of the little sandwiches?" she asked, pointing to the picture of a plate of assorted sandwiches.
"You got it, Hun. Anything else I can get you ladies?" Once she got her response, the waitress smiled and turned to put in their order. "If you need anything just ask, alright?"
Turning to Isabel, Abby decided to ask a question that had popped into her head. "Do you not like cats, Miss Isabel?"
