The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"Useful is all a matter of application. I'd imagine you'd make an amazing lifeguard."
Abby thought about that. Except for people being afraid of her tail there didn't seem to be any drawbacks. She'd have to remember to write that down as a possible job.
>>"Hmm? Oh, yeah, no problem. If that means you'll eat veggies, it's fine by me. If you could bring me some too, I'd appreciate it."
She was happy he didn't have anything against butter. She pulled the tub out and scooped a generous amount into the corn bag. Then she held up the tub and knife for Cafas. She didn't know why he wanted the butter but butter was yummy so it probably didn't matter.
>>"So, can you shift back and forth whenever you like?"
Abby took a moment to actually think about the question. Her first reaction was to say something about needing water. But that wasn't all of it. She had done a few experiments back when she first lived in the Mansion, to figure out how deep a bath she could take before shifting.
"I need water at least up to my neck. I get gills and it hurts to try to breathe through them without water. I've been able to do it with just my head submerged, but it's not really comfy," she tried to explain. It was hard to think about how and when she shifted. Usually if something was uncomfortable she just didn't do it. Like lift her neck out of water. That hurt lots.
"Can you use any metals?"
That was how this worked right? You exchanged information about your gifts. She thought it was at least. When she learned something about someone's ability she gave them a bit about hers.

>>"Cool, and good of you to consider others with your swim times. Thinking of others is important."
The little blonde shrugged. It wasn't really like that. She was just tired of others freaking out when spotting her while swimming. That and while she was friendly with a lot of her classmates, she didn't really have many friends in the Mansion.
She could probably count the wolf shifter as a friend. Maybe a few of the older girls who liked to dress her up.
>>"I manipulate metal. Not as cool, but it's what I got."
"That seems cool. More useful probably," she mused. It often came up in her age group. Mutations that would be useful for the X-Men team. Speaking of, didn't someone mention a pink haired member of the team. Huh, she was possibly talking to an X-Men. "I can only shift when I have plenty of water, so it's not really helpful on a day to day basis."
The microwave dinged it's finish and Abby took the bag out, being mindful of the heat. She carried it over to her chair and climbed up. She opened the bag as quickly as she could. Then she went for the fridge. Before she opened the door, she turned back to the pink haired man. "Is it okay if I add butter to the corn?" He seemed pretty conscious of health stuff. And butter wasn't technically healthy for you.

>>"Oh... Sorry."
Abby shrugged. It was a big deal. Though Abbigail knew a few other students who would be upset over it. Best to warn him now than him having angry kids on his hands. "S'okay. Just letting you know."
>>"I can manage that for sure. How are your with spicy food?"
Spice? She looked over to see the pink haired man holding cayenne pepper. That wasn't too spicy. "My daddy used to put hot sauce on everything so I'm good."
>>"And how do you feel about vegetables? Anything you hate? Gotta get some vitamins into this meal somehow."
That made her blink. "Um, potatoes are vegetables. But if you think we should make another," she took a moment to decide. Peas or corn? Or broccoli. But she didn't really like cooked broccoli. "Corn is good with mashed potatoes. You can put them together on the fork and it tastes good." She moved to get a bag of frozen corn to add to their meal.
>>"So, why you eating so late? Trouble with the other kids?"
She shook her head as she went about reading the instructions on the bag. They could be microwaved. "I'm a shifter. Shark," she stated while putting the bag in the lower microwave. There were leveled microwaves so younger kids could make things like popcorn. "Best time to swim and not scare anyone is while most everyone is eating. That and I don't keep track of time very well."

>>"I'll do my best."
Abby had expected him to just take the pot from her. She almost dropped it when he grabbed hold but didn't take all the weight. Then he took some of the weight, enough for her to finish the task. She hadn't had someone do this since her Mommy died.
>>"Whew. You're right, that was heavy."
Abby blinked at Cafas. Really? She had seen boys older than her, though younger than him, deal with a full pot of water without any trouble. She blinked at him again. Slowly this time.
"You might not want to try that with others around my age," she said slowly. "Most don't like being babied." Though maybe he didn't have much experience with those her age. But... He's in the school, isn't he?
>>"So, how do you like your steak, Ms. Abby?"
This made Abby shift uncomfortably. She set her eyes on the linoleum floor before she answered. "So long as it's not raw or burnt, I don't really care. Meat is meat. And now he was going to look at her weird.

>>"...Presentable non-drunk mutant adult. If we cannot find, then we will go alone.”
She listened to Miika's additions to her own list. Okay not drunk made sense. Smelly was understandable too. She couldn't fault Miika for the time limit. There did seem to be a hurry to get to the meeting.
"Understandable," she said aloud as she followed him. How he knew where an ATM was was written off as him having been to the area. At least until she watched him pull a bunch of hundreds out of the machine. She was stunned, her eyes widened to show it. Quickly she shook her head to clear it.
Abbigail looked around them, hoping to find someone who matched their needs. She spotted someone at the corner. He was at least a foot taller than her and Miika. His ears easily denoted him as a mutant. And he looked like he had seen them take the money from the ATM.
"Miika, I believe there is someone who can assist us. Shall we ask?" Abby questioned, keeping her eyes on the brown haired stranger.

>>"Potatoes, sure. How are you gonna have them?"
Abby smiled shyly as she cut into one of the red potatoes. He seemed nice. "Mashed potatoes, with butter and salt and pepper. Red ones are easier since you don't have to peel them," she told him. She kept her eyes on the knife in her hand. She had cut herself before by not paying attention.
She cut the potato in half then cut one of the halves in half. The patter continued until she had bite sized pieces waiting to be put in the pot of-
Oh she had forgotten that part. Putting the knife down she picked up the pot and carried it over to the sink, filling it a little over halfway full of water.
>>"I'm Cafas, by the way. What should I call you?"
She may have jumped a little when he spoke up. But she didn't spill the water. That was good. Though she did wonder how she would get the heavy pot onto the counter. Well, she could always ask.
"I'm Abby. Could you help me get this up there? It's kinda heavy." Her voice went from a normal talking volume to a much softer and quieter one as she spoke.

>>“We are not young. Many mutants are start at vigilante or villain younger than us. You and I are start younger than this.”
Not good. Not good. Oh how did she-
>>“...But I see point.”
Abby let a small sigh of relief leave her. He was listening. Good. That was good.
>>“Time is problem. Meeting is start very soon. Do you have local contact?”
Abbigail took a moment to think. The area they were in wasn't one she had been to before. It was highly unlikely anyone she knew was around. She took another look around. Though she hated it, she knew many people were without in the city. Perhaps they could use that. 'That's what Black Widow would do,' she thought. She wouldn't let this get to her. She would finish the mission. She accepted it after all, when Miika first walked up to her.
"None that would arrive in time," because that was true. No one would reach them quickly if she called, if she could call. Maybe time to look into getting a phone. "This area is less fortunate. I'm sure we can find someone who will... assist." The little blonde started a check list in her head.
Adult (or at least looks it)
Mutant (or could pass for one as the dog-headed man and Miika's comments led to it being either mutant-only or mostly mutants)
Willing to lie (probably for money because "money talks")
Willing to help two children with a dubious plot (and listen to them since Miika is the only one who knows what's going on)
"Do you have cash? Most would prefer that to other methods?" This could either work or end very badly. She crossed her fingers in hope that it would all work out.

>>“Remember, if all goes as plan then we are only Abigail and Miika. Maybe I find files without even leave room, if we are lucky. If not, then we are children, we are mutant children, so probably it is no trouble if we wander a little. Meeting is not important, no matter what they say or do. We are just be quiet and sit and listen, and wait for chance to explore.”
Abby nodded then paused. Miika was blind. Gestures wouldn't work well now. "Alright," she added.
Then she started thinking more about what they were doing. It seemed less like a game now than before. She also began to wonder what files did he need? Now that she looked, Miika didn't seem to meet her eye. It was hard for her to figure out since she rarely did it herself. He might actually be blind. It also gave a reason for why he walked up to her. Mistaken identity, perhaps? Abby would have to keep her new, if strangely acquired, friend safe during whatever was going on.
When she spotted the dog-headed man, Abby felt a surge of something cause her to stop. She grabbed Miika's arm to have him stop with her. Whatever this was wasn't what she thought. But she didn't want to leave Miika alone.
"Your best guess, how many other young children will be present? We want to blend in, not stand out. An adult would help our cover," she said in as calm a voice as she could.
She would not panic. She was a predator. She may be young, but she was strong. But perhaps not strong enough to protect her new friend, even with her taser. They would need someone older and bigger than both of them for that.

>>“Address is just down block. Is old clinic, closed by FBI because they do not like the mutant who owned it. They are not watch anymore, though.”
She nodded at that. Okay, so abandoned building. Someone else could be there. Maybe he had been afraid to meet someone and that was why they were playing a game. It made some sense. She would help. She absently danced around the edge of the pot hole. Her thoughts a whir.
>>“If we can be anyone when we are there, then I will be Miika. I am mutant who is blind. I am join Sebastian's Witnesses because my parents are too stupid to understand that blind is okay. Blind is my strength."
Abby nodded. She didn't think he'd take it so seriously but okay. Miika. "Well met, Miika."
>>"Who will you be?"
Abby didn't have to think about that one. She knew the answer. "The easiest lies are half truths. I am Abigail, an orphan shifter. And we are friends, are we not Miika?"

>>“Maybe you could come with. I hear you have never been there.”
Abby couldn't stop the loud laugh that broke through her closed lips. It was louder than her usual laugh but it seemed to work for who she was playing as.
"Perhaps when you're older," she offered, letting her eyes skim over the boy. It almost sounded like him asking her out. But there was no way that was what he meant.
>>“Thank you for accept mission. I know is very easy for your skill, but no one is suspect children. We are Best Infiltration."
Abby's smile softened at the hidden admission. "Easy ones are more like vacations. I can be whoever I want to be when my age and size let other's look me over. I'm sure you understand this as well."
Abby took in the shops they passed. She wasn't too sure where they were headed. She slipped her hand to check that her purse was still closed and her things inside. She didn't have much but she tried to be prepared for anything. The blonde was a little shocked to feel a semifamiliar shape from her room. Seemed one of the older girls who dressed her had slipped in the tazer her Uncle had given her for Christmas.
"The address hasn't slipped your mind, has it? I'd hate to be late." There vague enough for the game but maybe it would cause him to tell her where they were going.

>>“Is well said, Agent Tiger. Like flower that has bloomed at night.”
Abby was pretty sure that didn't actually make sense. But he was kind of cute. His cheeks were tinged pink and he looked really uncomfortable. It was probably hard for him to make friends. That might be why he approached her. He probably saw those girls tease her for her mutation. She was just happy she was wearing long pants. It hid her gray skin.
>>“Walk with me."
Abby stood from the swing with as much grace as she could. It wasn't easy since her feet didn't actually touch the ground. But she hoped her little jump looked cool. She was getting into the game now.
Checking to make sure her bag was where it should be and her hat was covering her face with shade, she followed the foreign boy. They were headed from the park, but she wasn't worried. She could probably out run him if she had to. She could outrun most adults now.
>>"Your resume is very impress. Like photo album of action movie, fire in background with dramatic pose silhouette. What is last country you are in? Ukraine?”
Thinking fast, Abby played along. "Technically, India. But there is no proof of my... visit," she grinned a little, letting her teeth show.
>>“Agent Tiger. Is pleasure to meet you. I am Agent Swan. We talk on internet. Mission is begin now, if you are accept. Is last chance for regret.”
What? Abby just blinked at the strange boy. He was taller than her, though that didn't say much since she was short. He was also wearing a large grey hoodie that didn't really fit him, but Abby liked clothes like that too when it was cold and the sky was sad. Then she noticed his headphones with their swan design.
Oh. So maybe he saw her teeth? And that's why she was Tiger. Abbigail wondered if she really had time to play a game like this, or even if she was too old for these types of games. But he wasn't running from her. And he didn't seem to mind her teeth like the girls at the monkey-bars did.
"The pleasure's mine, Swan. Regrets are for those who fear the outcome," the blonde shook his hand after her long silence. It sounded cool to her. Like something Black Widow would say.

"Fried rice? Yeah you can have all that. Rice does not sound good right now," she told DR.
She licked her fingers clean of juices and seasoning. She kept having to clean her fingers since the chicken was still juicy. She probably should have grabbed a napkin or towel or something before sitting down. She looked over to see DR wasn't much better off. He would probably need a bath after their meal. Not that she was much better. She licked at a long line of fluid on her arm.
"Want a bite?" she offered after peeling a long piece of the breast area.
