The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

And they were back in the air. Abby slammed her eyes shut to help the growing fear from taking over. Whoever this girl was, she apparently didn't play by the rules. Or laws for that matter. Eventually there was solid ground under her feet.
>>"There. Much better. No need pay."
Green eyes stared at the winged girl. "You're worse than Panu," she stated in shock. Looking around she found that the girl hadn't even grabbed the rest of Abby's clothes. Though the black haired girl had time to grab some sort of legging type things.
"I hope you realize that those clothes weren't actually mine. What am I gonna tell them when I get back? Some fallen angel whisked me away while trying on dresses?" The little blonde stopped and took several deep breaths.

>>"Nice. Come"
Abby hissed at the contact on her arm. What was this girl doing? Then the blonde realized she was being pulled towards the exit. "Wait! I didn't pay for this!" she yelped and dug her heels in. It had kind of worked last time.

>>"Here, more."
Abby rolled her eyes put took the mass of dresses. She hung them up in the dressing room and looked through them. There were a few she knew wouldn't fit. Or rather wouldn't look good. The girls at school always seemed to comment on her "lack of figure" whatever that meant. She still hadn't found an adult she could ask about it at the Mansion and asking her Aunt would just get her "you're beautiful as you are" again.
She did find a few nice dresses she thought would work. The one she liked best looked like a princess dress so she put it on to show the other girl. She also grabbed the ones she knew wouldn't look good on her before leaving the little stall.
"These won't look right," she stated as she handed them over. "What do you think?" she asked with a twirl.

>>"Over."
Abby opened her eyes as the girl set her down. It was a little bumpy but the little blonde was just happy to be on solid ground.
>>"Inside."
The shifter glared at the older girl but followed along. Might as well since the girl had just picked her up and brought her to some clothing store. At least if she followed along the girl might not touch her again. She was usually good with the pain that came but if it was sudden she couldn't block it as well. "Just don't touch me again," she groused as she went in to the store.
>>"Try."
The little blonde blinked at the dress but listened. She went and found the dressing room and changed. She left her shirt, skirt, jacket and hat on the bench, leaving her leggings to cover her discolored legs. Then she walked out. "Judgement, Oh Dark One?" she sassed. Just a little.[/font]

>>"Silly girl. No buy."
What? Before Abby could think any further on the winged girl's words, the girl had turned and picked her up! She screeched a little at the sudden change and wrapped her arms around the girl's shoulder. "I would much rather be on the ground thanks!"
Abby closed her eyes so she could pretend she wasn't being carried by a black winged angel through the New York crowds. Give her land or water and Abby would be fine. But she'd like to never be suspended in the air like this again.
"Just tell me when it's over," the little shark shifter groaned.

Before Abby could react the girl had grabbed her arm. In response, Abby drug her feet. She knew her legs were actually really heavy from swimming. This strange girl, even if pretty, would not take her. If all else failed she could-
>>"Because look as - garbage. Look as garbage. I fix."
What? Garbage? What was this girl talking about? Abby dug her heels in to try to stop the girl. "It's not like I dressed myself!" she yelled at the black haired girl. "If I had my way I'd wear tank tops and skirts all the time," she muttered. The only reason she let the older girl's dress her up was so they would leave her alone the rest of the time.
"And how will you 'fix' it? I don't have any money to buy new clothes."

>>"That's awesome. Must hurt to bite your lip though."
Abby felt heat rise to her face. She wouldn't admit it but the first time she met DocProf was because she had bit her cheek. He had seen her a few more times since then for similar reasons. She moved back with the bowl. Hopefully her cheeks weren't too red.
>>"You know, I think we might nearly be done. What do you think?"
"We still have to mash the potatoes," she stated. How were they anywhere near done? The potatoes needed mashing and then butter and salt and pepper. Then they could eat. That reminded her.
"Why'd you miss dinner?" she asked, tilting her head to be able to look at Cafas.

Abby stood back after their little exchange. She could at least stay to listen to the whole piece, since she didn't actually have any money. She could probably ask her Aunt and Uncle for an allowance. Or at least something like it. Her grades were probably good enough to warrant that.
"Ey, little girl. Come with me."
Lost in her thoughts, Abby was a little shocked when the girl spoke to her. The blonde hadn't even noticed her move. She may have been a friendly enough person but after being glared at by the older girl, she wasn't so sure of her. "Why should I?" she huffed and crossed her arms.

Abby was just letting the subway take her wherever today. It was something she did when she wanted to find new places in the large city. She always paid attention to the train times and stations she passed. She even carried a small notepad in her purse for times like this.
She was checking the list of stops and trains when she heard the sound of music. It wasn't uncommon for musicians to play down in the subway. In fact, it was probably as common as finding artists in the park. This however wasn't the sound of drums or guitars. It was something else. Something like her Mommy played when she was little.
Leaving the board, the little blonde moved through the crowds towards the music. She got jostled a bit but it wasn't too difficult to find the musician. It was a girl. Probably only a few years older than her, but she was dressed really pretty. The dress and shoes were something she knew some girls would love. But what got Abbigail's attention were the large black wings.
Taking a moment to listen, Abby decided she could spare some money for the fellow mutant. Opening her purse, she went looking through for any money. She found two dimes and a penny. So she dropped a dime in the case in front of the girl.
Pure black eyes met hers. Abby knew a glare when she saw one. Then the girl coughed. In response, Abby raised her eyebrow and opened her hand, showing the last of her change. Eleven cents sat in her palm.

>> "Best advice I can give is try not to take it too hard, and keep trying. All you need is one person on your side, they make it much easier."
Abby listened as he gave her advice. He had grabbed the pot before she could, so she was left standing on her chair. Staring at him.
>>"Now, let's see those teeth, they must be pretty cool if they scare people off."
Now that was scary. She had learned how to smile and talk without showing her teeth. It wasn't often someone asked to see them. Sometimes she forgot to hide them, but mostly she kept them for sight. Opening her mouth a little, she let the pink haired man see them. The front teeth were really like a shark's. Not that she had rows and rows. Just the shape. The further back in her mouth the more normal they got.
Once she thought he had seen enough, she snapped her lips shut and moved to get a bowl for the potatoes. Her Mommy used the pot but last time she did that she got in trouble. She'd have to remember to wash all the dishes after she finished eating.

With so many of her shelves empty, Abby began to move her towels from various places around her room to the shelves. She had collected a lot of towels. Some of the other kids gave her towels for her birthday one year. It was nice having to not worry about if she had any clean.
Her collection of Disney towels came out of the bottom drawer of her dresser. She had an Ariel one from before she got to the Mansion that she kept down in the drawer. It was too special for everyday. Her Minnie Mouse, Frozen, and Princess towels went in up high. Her big pink ones, blue ones, and the one orange were put in easy reach for when she went to the pool. She had a few others with patterns that she took from under her bed. There were a few others she had but they didn't fit on the shelf so she kept them in the closet.
It was slow, but she was getting her room to be more... well more her than it was before.

>>"That's pretty awesome. We get more than a few of those in Australia. They get nearly as big as the great whites. That pool must seem tiny to you when you're a shark."
"It's better than a tub. At my Uncle's that's all I have. But I tend to stay in the deep end," she smiled softly.
>>"So how long have you been here at the school for?"
Abby looked up and grinned as he handed her the mixer thing. "I came when I was nine so... three years. It doesn't feel like a long time." She moved her chair over now that she had everything. The potatoes would be heavy but she was prepared to carry the pot to the sink, where the strainer was set up. "I don't have many friends," she continued. "Some of the older girls like to dress me up. And I know a lot of others my age. But no one really wants to be my friend. I think it's my teeth."

>>"This is Abigail. I am Miika. Who are you?"
>>"Adder."
With everyone knowing the others' names, the small group got moving. Looking at the three of them, Abby wasn't too sure they looked like friends. Or even really knew each other. They were almost back on the street with the guard-dog man. She scrunched up her face before moving. She moved to the middle of the group. Then she took Miika and Adder's hands in hers. She swung her arms a little, like she used to with her parents. There. Now they looked more like friends. That's what friends did right? Hold hands. Plenty of older kids did at the school. They also talked to each other.
The little blonde thought for a moment. There wasn't much she knew they could all talk about. Something everyone liked, maybe?
Oh! They had passed an ice cream place hadn't they? Everyone liked ice cream.
"I think I want to try a new flavor. Bubblegum, maybe. It sounds fun. Don't you think? What kind of ice cream will you get, Miika?" she peered over at the lighter blond haired boy. Hopefully they could do... whatever it was Miika needed.

>>"All the metals I've tried. I couldn't say for sure with things like uranium. Nor with the alkali metals, because it has to be in it's metal form to work, and those will react with even the water in the air. I assume the answer is yes though."
Abby knew some of that. Uranium was an element. Alkali metals were... not quite metals? "What're alkali metals? I don't remember," she muttered. Half of her hoped he heard and would answer. The other half hoped he had no idea she spoke up. She took out a strainer for the potatoes. Then she went looking for a mixer thing.
>>"So, what type of shark do you turn into?"
This Abby could talk about. She had gained an extreme interest in marine life after living at the Mansion for a year. "Adolescent tiger shark. I have the marking and everything," she grinned, raising her skirt a little to show her gray legs and the darker stripes across them.

>>“Good eyes.”
Abby smiled a little in response. Then Miika was moving. Abby followed a pace behind him, letting him take the lead since he had the money. She wondered how they would explain the "mission" to the stranger.
>>“Hello. We are going to meeting and want adult to come with so other adults are not stare at us. If you will come with us, then this is payment-up-front. Same amount after. All you are need to do is pretend you are our Adult and not talk much.”
Well... Yeah, that worked. It was a little over simplified but yeah. Abbigail stiffened a little when he took the money. He hadn't actually agreed to help them.
"So you just want to not be bothered?"
She was kind of fascinated with his ears. The way they moved. She got memorized by cat and dog ears too. "Basically. We'd rather not just show up alone, so we'd like you to accompany us," Abby shrugged in a what-can-you-do way. "If that's all? We should get going, correct Miika?" They were on a time constraint after all. Then she thought about what 'getting going' would involve. Great. They'd have to get past the guard-dog guy. She shivered a little at the reminder.
