The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Abby watched in fascination as DR passed over the chicken container. She wasn't too sure how he did it. A combination of smell and practice, maybe? Either way she giggled as she took it. With a grin still on her face, she sat down with her back against the counter. Opening her prize her stomach rumbled at the smell. "Yum."
She wasn't worried about heating the chicken. Chicken was chicken. It was already cooked so it was safe, at least by her standards. Raw chicken was a little weird to her, but she liked most other raw meats. It was raw chicken with its sliminess she didn't like. She probably ate more raw-ish meat than was healthy actually. She did try to remember to cook it, but sometimes she just didn't care.
"What'd you find?" she asked while pulling some meat off the carcass. There wasn't a whole lot left of the bird so she'd probably finish it all.

Abby stood back with her arms crossed. Her friend was very amusing to watch. And her question had been a legitimate one! Chicken bones broke on her if she wasn't careful. She had a right to be worried about him choking on them.
"Okay, I get it. You win," she laughed when he jumped up into the fridge. "Are you just going to pull out whatever? If so, can I grab my chicken first?"
She didn't want to try to push him around now that he was half inside the fridge. They might break something that way.

Then the only thing she focused on was her feet on the floor and the turns she had to take to get to the kitchen. She was very happy she wasn't wearing shoes. She was faster without them. She slide around a corner and into the wall, bouncing off to make it the last stretch of the little race.
She was very happy the door was propped open before ten because she would not have been able to stop to open it. She was even happier for it when DR (Drowned Rat) got there first because that could've hurt. She was laughing as she made it into the kitchen. DR was at the fridge, looking very excited.
"Does it count as a win if you can't actually get the food out?" she laughed at him. She pushed him away from the door so she could open it. "So chicken- wait chicken bones break easy. Is that a good idea for you?" she asked turning to her friend for some sort of answer.

Abby just watched Peter fumble with a soft smile. It had taken her a long time to get used to speaking to strangers at restaurants by herself. Eventually she accepted that practice could only help with her self-confidence.
>>"I'm quite hopeless at this stuff huh?"
Abby shook her head. "It takes practice. I've been here two years and I find it hard sometimes."
>>"Sooo... Um Abby, where are you're parents?"
The little blonde looked up from the menu at the question. "They're dead. My Aunt and Uncle take care of me... Sort of. I go to Xavier's Sister School. It's a boarding school." She took a long look at the menu before speaking up again. "How does beef congee, fried rice, and some lo mein sound?"

Abby couldn't help giggling at the growl she got for her new nickname. Well, she didn't actually know his name so Drowned Rat would be his moniker until told otherwise. It was fun to tease him about it.
Suddenly he took off. After a moment of stunned... stunned-ness, Abbigail took off after him. "Hey! Wait up! she yelled after him. She really hated being short. A snarl rose from her throat before she put on a burst of speed. "Race ya," she laughed as she caught up.

Abbigail turned back to her selfappointed task of drying her wolf friend. Oh, he had turned around. That was helpful. She shook her head before putting one of the dryer towels to wet fur.
"You're almost dried, I think," she hummed. "I wonder if there's anything left of dinner. I lost track of time earlier and missed it. That's where I was going when I found the puddles. Which were from you, Drowned Rat. That's probably what I'll do after I'm done: get dinner. Chicken sounds good. What do you think?"

Abby was still pensive (last week's vocabulary word) when someone cleared their throat. Abby shifted around to see Jeff standing there, shifting from foot to foot. His friends were waiting by the living room door.
"We're uh, heading out. You gonna be okay?" he asked, his eyes flickering to the wolf and back.
She nodded. "Yeah. We're fine."
"You sure? I'm sure we can find an adult."
Now he was being silly. They hadn't even known the two shifters were in here until Abby had told them. Now he was acting like she would be attacked if they left. She smiled at Jeff, making sure her sharp teeth were fully visible. "We're good, Jeff."
"Uh, right."
He almost bolted to the door after that. It made Abby grin. He was just being nice, but she really didn't need him to act like she was with someone who'd hurt her. She had been next to the wolf-shifter for a long time. If he was going to hurt her, he'd already had plenty of chances.
"Some people need to mind their own business," she huffed after picking up the town again. "I may not be really strong, but I'm not helpless. You know? I have common sense. Idiot boys."

Abby took what Peter said very seriously. She kept her hand in his the whole time. Sometimes even skipping to help her keep up. It was much funner than running to keep up. She barely noticed the other people looking at them. It wasn't any stranger than her teeth after all.
>>"This is the place."
Abby looked up from their feet to see the big yellow sign and the brick exterior. That meant outside. It was one of her vocabulary words.
>>"C'mon lets see if we can't do something about that stomach of yours"
Abby nodded excitedly. She was really hungry. It wasn't really busy inside though maybe they had missed the lunch crowd. It would explain the few dirty tables the blonde could see.
>>"Soooo... Hows about you order the food, and your ol pal Peter will take care of the bill, my treat. Order whatever you want... Just get me something with no fish in it"
Abbigail eyed Peter at his offer. "Um, are you sure? I can eat a lot," she warned. There wasn't really a way to explain her predator's appetite. She took the seat across from him and picked up the menu. "No fish. How hungry are you?" she asked. "There's some rice dishes, noodles, chicken, beef. I don't think we should get tofu." Abby paused then as a waitress came up to them.
"What drinks will you starting with?"
"Water, please. And an order of egg rolls and spring rolls."

Abby jumped at the sudden voice. She should probably pay more attention to that kind of stuff. Huh. He looked familiar. In that way everyone at the Mansion did. Being short meant it hurt to actually look up at faces. Usually unless they talked to her she didn't bother. Oh, he had asked something! But what?
"Um... sure?" It was better than not saying anything at least.
Abby ducked her head and finished moving her improvised stool. It was really just a chair but it would do the job. She put the back of it away from the kitchen door. She'd probably jump less that way. Hopefully.
Why would someone be here this late? Wait, duh, food. "Um... The potatoes will take longest so if you could help me cut them?" she offered now that she had an idea about what he had asked.

Abby looked around her room one Saturday morning and realized a lot of her posters and decorations weren't cohesive with her current interests. While she still liked butterfly stickers above her bed weren't as interesting as they used to be. The Disney Princesses poster was a little childish now, though Disney never really got old. Everywhere she looked, Abby found things that she didn't need or want in her room.
Opening her nightstand drawer, she pulled out the music player her Uncle had sent. One of the older girls had helped her put a bunch of music on it. After turning it on and putting in the headphones, Abbigail got to work taking down the things she didn't need anymore. She'd ask one of the adults for a box later.
When she was done, the only things really left in her room were the trinkets she bought around the city, some pictures of her family, a few movie posters, and her fish tank with two plecos and a bunch of guppies. Her room looked really bare in comparison to how it was at the beginning of the day.

Abby just kept giggling while the wolf rolled and snorted. She doubled over, resting her head on the towel across him. When she tried to stop laughing she would just burst into another fit. It took her a few minutes to stop her laughter.
"I don't think I've laughed that much in a long time," she admitted into the towel covered fur. "Not since... Well, it's been a long time."

Abby was hungry. It wasn't a strange hungry though. She had just finished a two hour swim so her body needed food. But it was also long past dinner time. She entered the kitchen, hoping someone had made enough to last until then.
It was not to be.
There wasn't anything good that could be reheated or thrown together. Pouting a little, the blonde girl started searching for ingredients. If she was going to make her own meal, she was going to make something yummy. And right now yummy for steak and mashed potatoes. If they had the stuff for it.
Potatoes weren't hard to find. Luckily they had some of the red kind you didn't have to peel. Setting the bag down near the stove, she went hunting for a cutting board, knife, and pot. Once those items were found, she went back to the fridge. Steak would be near the bottom in the meat drawer. At least that's where it was last time she checked.
"Steak takes... less than ten minutes," she thought out loud. "Potatoes need to boil for... fifteen, right? Hmm, sounds right."
She picked out the smallest thing of steak, which had three in it. She could do all three so someone else could have something to eat. Shrugging, she put the package near the stove and moved back to the potatoes. Those would take longer so she should start with those. Before she started though, she needed a stool or chair or something. Being short wasn't any fun.

>>"I'm sorry i don't seem to see such a place..."
Oh. Abby frowned in thought.
>>"But i think with these keen eyes of mine, and that phone of yours, we should be able to find it in no time. How does that sound?"
She looked back up to see the nice, tall man holding out his fist. Smiling she hit his with her much smaller one. "Okay," she looked down at the phone to double check the address, "It's supposed to be on Mott Street."

Oh! He was bending down. Why?
>>"Im sorry I didn't quite hear you... What is it you were asking?"
Oh. Abby hadn't thought of the noise. And he was so much taller too. "Um, I was wondering if you could find a sign for me. I'm looking for Big Wong. It's a restaurant," she restated as confidently as she could. "You're a lot taller than me."
