The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As they reached the top of the staircase Serena realised why she felt as if she knew this place. It was because she DID know it, this was her old apartment building.
But why did she not recognise it? She had only been moved out for like two days, so why'd she forget about it so quickly? She did notice that the building was surrounded in blood and a lot of the furniture was soaked in it as well.
That must be it, she wasn't used to seeing it covered in blood.
The figure burst through the open door to her older brothers apartment. And then stood near the balcony.
Serena approached. Breathing heavily. "I've... Caught you..." The hooded figure raised to arms and dropped the hood.
Serena knew that it was an accident, she didn't blame him in the slightest.
She smiled and nodded. That hurt. Why did she nod after taking a nasty blow to the head? I'm an idiot. "3 fingers. I don't think I hit it hard enough to give myself a concussion."
She noticed he was busy offering her ice... Where did the ice come from? She hadn't seen any containers and she didn't get knocked out, so he can't of had time to go and fetch some from somewhere. So where did it come from?
"Where'd that ice come from?..." Serena took the ice with her left hand and then used her right hand to check how bad the bleeding was." [/color] Her hand was covered in blood, it was getting worse, and for one second Serena panicked.
A blue glow surrounded her hand and then spread around to surround her body, like some sort of visible radiation. She recognized it instantly as the side effect of her power being activated.
Serena felt a wave of worry for the small girl. Her insides acting up? That certainly did not sound like healthy body behavior. Also, she was so young, it wasn't fair that she would have a burden like horrible insides at such young a age.
Serena gave a reassuring smile. "Does this happen often? Do you know why it's happening, maybe I can find you some medication or something to help you feel better."
Serena was worried for the little one, she was a very nice girl and if she had a stomach bug or something, after she had helped Serena out on the first two evenings she had been here, and the way she had hugged her after she found out about Serena's brother dying, the least she could do was find her some medicine.
Serena smiled as he spoke. Another European by the sounds of it, possibly French or Swiss judging by the accent that was clear in his English. She brushed hair out of her eyes again, tracing along her forehead to leave the hair residing behind her ear. "Hi there... I'm Serena."
She mentally scolded herself. She wasn't meant to be greeting him, she was trying to warn him about the thugs she could hear just behind the clearing. "Yeah, So like, I was trying to warn you that the people behind the clearing, who look as if they might be gang members or something, are getting more rowdy, so you might wanna move."
Serena offered the man a smile and a hand to help him up off the ground. The rapidly descending sun highlighting her her body with golden warmth. At least it was a pleasant evening.
Serena noted the way that the blonde woman spoke. She deduced that she was probably mainly logic driven, also judging by the sheer amount of work on the table, Serena guessed that she was a Scientist or a Mathematician or something.
She shook her head. "It's not as simple as a light source, I have a roommate and she has a pet, I don't want to wake either of them up, so I decided to find a table somewhere else in the school that I could study at."
Serena noticed how the woman rushed to her work as to check if it had stopped working? She wasn't quite sure what she was doing. But, it must have been very important to the woman for her to defend the work so... Fiercely.
Serena shrugged. A Doctor? She hadn't really thought about that. She was good at the sciences for her age, but she wasn't entirely sure where she wanted to take that yet. "I'm honestly not sure, I am passionate about Biology, and I enjoy science subjects in general, but I haven't had much time to look at my future recently, this year has been a little crazy."
Serena settled down at the opposite end of the table, and set down her book and her notes. "I'm Serena by the way, nice to meet you." The British girl waited for a response while she flicked through her notes.
As the blond haired Haemokinetic moved through the rapidly darkening park, she couldn't help but wonder what sort of nefarious people would lurk around this area...
Infact, She was sure she had seen one or two drug dealers... Oh well, she moved into a more open field, to get away from potential muggers.
Serena wandered into the field to see a man lying in the centre of the field, with his headphones on. He looked to be in his 20's.
But what was he doing out in this field in the middle of... Well not nowhere, New York. She pondered this as she approached him, hearing the people getting much rowdier, she didn't really think it was a good idea to hang around here.
|She stood over him, looking down on him and brushed her hair out of her face. "Hi there... I don't think it is a good idea to hang around here..."
Serena had gone to one of the new garden mazes in town, it was supposedly a great place to chill out in the afternoon, because not many people hung out there and it was quiet and beautiful, Serena on the other hand had been to 'her' apartment.
She was sitting in the park from about 3pm, reading her biology notes, even now, at about 8-9 pm, the street lights were still blazing and Serena was slightly amused at the thought of street laps in a garden maze...
A chilly wind was blowing through the maze, Serena, at this point, after seeing mutation at it's worst, really didn't think anything else could at this point.
However, this evening was beginning to sound like a scene from a really creepy horror movie... Those bushes were also starting to sway. Regardless of whether or not she was just being paranoid, she should probably get home.
Serena continued to dodge and weave out of the way, her muscles felt like they were beginning to burn though, she had never really done this sort of intensive exercise, and although Sam was clearly pulling his punches, there was still a sense of fear that she might be hit.
She was worried, she was wearing down and thus slowing down, would this disappoint him?
He kept swinging at the blonde haired teenager, she kept ducking out of the way just in time. Two minutes, she could do this.
Sam swung at her face. Her legs gave in. Can't dodge, I have to block it She put out her arm to block the attack, her arm stopped it for half a second, but she hadn't expected such a powerful blow, it pushed through her guard and made contact with her face.
She was pushed back a meter or so and hit the side of her head on the floor. She was bleeding.
Serena took a few deep breaths. She certainly felt like she had earned a break, her arms were starting to feel tired, so were her legs, generally her whole body was.
She looked up at his comment. Really? She was such a good student? Even though she had never done any real fighting... It was such a weird notion. But it did make her giggle and put a smile on her face. "I'll take that as a compliment"
Serena's eyes widened as Sam spoke, she wasn't sure what to say to him, it was so... unexpected.
As his sentance finsihed and she regained the ability to respond... he began. She didn't want to fight him! He came at her and swung at her head.
Serena's eyes locked. She tensed her muscles and weaved out of the way of his blow. She blocked the second one. Then kept ducking and dodging, but her muscles were beginning to feel tired, she was also getting paler.
Serena had spent the day in what was now technically HER apartment. Since her brother had payed up the rent for the next year, and since he was now dead, and his will left everything to her, she had an apartment. Although, she wasn't really going to use it.
The mansion was her home, and also her school, so Serena figured, that is where she should live, also as an added bonus, it was where nearly all of her friends lived.
She had spent most of the day going through old stuff. Looking through her brothers laptop files, sorting through photo's of them. She even saw that he had time off planned for her birthday. That was surprising, awesome and also sad as he had died shortly before it.
Serena had actually had a decent day though, listening to cheerful music while looking through things around the old apartment.
She had actually spent TOO long doing that... the sun was going down at it was nearly 7pm, she seriously needed to get back to her dorm, Liz might be worried.
Serena put her sleeveless jacket on and ran out. She decided to cut through the park, it was slightly eerie, nobody else appeared to be around.
Jude could be fun for Serena to thread with... He seems cool and his mutation could make for an interesting thread if one of them cuts themselves on something by accident
Serena's face darkened. She was worried her friend was feeling sick, but she looked as if she was VERY ill, in pain even.
She very carefully moved to closer to look at Victoria, nothing really appeared to be wrong, other than the groaning. Serena looked very concerned indeed.
Were pains or illness what kept a little girl like Victoria up so late at night? Because Serena decided, that in itself could not be healthy.
An unexpected thought crossed Serena's mind. When she used her power, it left her feeling drained and sometimes in downright pain. Victoria lived at the mansion, so she was a mutant, did hers possibly cause her pain or make her sick as Serena's did?
Serena dismissed the thought, she was reading too much into things.
The blonde haired teenager knelt down and brushed hair out of her face "Hey, tell me what's wrong, maybe I can help." Serena murmured in a sweet and gentle tone.
Serena was up late, what time was it? Midnight. It was certainly very late, she had already splashed her face with water about six times to keep her self awake. She didn't want to fall asleep, not yet.
Serena picked up her biology notes and text book from next to her bed, she then straightened up and set out.
Serena poured herself a glass of water. And drank slowly. She then topped it up and thought to herself, well she had better study for a while because there is no sense in being up this late and not doing anything with her time.
She walked into the dining room, thinking that it would be empty, she was wrong.
Serena hadn't even noticed the notes or the computer across from her, she was also a good meter or two away from them. "Hi there, sorry, I wasn't going to go near them anyway. I was just looking for somewhere quiet that I could study as I can't sleep" Serena held up biology work as proof of her statement.
Serena had been hard at work for several hours. She was feeling a bit sleepy, but couldn't give in to sleep just yet.She was still behind on her Biology studies after missing a few months and was working like hell to get back up to speed.
She had been working for ages now... She assumed Liz was either out, sleeping, or just being quiet. She was scribbling away viciously at her note pad with her pen, making notes on the transpiration of plants, urgh, notes, too many notes.
Serena was too distracted, then she heard the muffled swearing in celtic from Liz's parrot in his cage, and something about knocks on the door while he was sleeping. Serena got up and crept over to the door. She was still wearing jeans and a long sleeved T-shirt, her hair was also still done up with the blood red hair pins from earlier that day.
She quietly opened the door to see a blonde woman standing outside. "Hello." Serena whispered.
