The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
This sounds interesting, but how would you get the 'good' guys to come out there to compete in this? Is this thing to the death or just a fun-test-my-powers-and-skills battle? If it were the latter, I could see that working out well.
That's kinda like the plot we just did with Whitmore. We have a plot coming up that has to do with kidnapping and research. If you'd like to sign up for it, please do. It's in the plot section.
OK! So I've gotten a lot of requests to rp with Tricity which I want to get around to. I've been super busy lately, so I apologize. Please let me know if you need to post with Tricity by replying to this thread. I can't have her in twenty different places at once, so I need to make logical decisions.
I give first priority to Cass and Daria and Kage because we have a plot going.
Night was falling as the women separated into their own small groups to have the bit of chat time they could before 'lights out'. Tricity gave a small grin to Emerald as she slipped off the bed and went over to talk to Isabel. The shift was changing outside as the guards began to switch. Tricity turned her gaze to the campers and silently cursed their situation. She felt hot tears fill in the back of her eyes as she thought about her son. Her eyes quickly closed shut and she laid down on the bed, forcing herself to swallow her emotions.
There was a sudden hush on that side of the room which Tricity noticed and she opened her eyes again, sitting up on her elbows. James had come. She'd heard of this asshole from some of the other women, including those in their small circle. A few of the girls seemed to be approaching him. 'This doesn't look good...', Tricity thought sliding off the bed and slowly walking over.
James was smiling from ear to ear with such a confidence it made her stomach knot. She noticed Isabel's twisted face and knew whatever was about to happen, it was probably going to land her and a couple of the others in isolation plus whatever other punishment the guards felt like giving out. Just as expected, Isable swung at James, connecting a good hit. Tricity quickly moved forward to try and stop the altercation, wondering how long it would take for the guards to noticed the scuffle.
(OOC: Tricity has yet to be in isolation. I can use this as a way to get her to talk with the higher-ups as we move on with the plot and begin assigning people for certain tasks for the resistance in the camp.)
"You aren't weak and nothing they can do to you will show that you are weak," Tricity said in hopes of trying to make the girl relax a bit. Though, hearing news of participants from other problems in the past being here at the camp was rather disheartening. "If anything, it only shows how weak they are for doing the things they do to you. You know I always say the reason for all the hate pushed at mutants is because they don't understand us. Sadly, most of the workers here aren't about hate, just getting a paycheck at the end of the day without caring how it's obtained."
Tricity leaned back a bit on the bed, using her arms to brace her. She didn't want to push Emerald, but Tricity never knew of the things Fusionist did specifically. "This guy who has it out for you... Why is he drinking your blood?"
Tricity's eyebrow rose a little at the sudden snap and she was starting to take it personally. Obviously something happened that she didn't want to talk about. 'What was the name she was about to give?' Some of the women were still staring and Tricity gave them an annoyed look which helped prove her point. She sat on the bed next to Emerald. "Calm down, Em. I just thought maybe you'd like to talk. I'm only trying to help..."
"Yes I can see that..." Tricity examined the bruises and cuts the girl had on her body. "Jesus, Em, what did they do to you?" Tricity hadn't experienced the pain that was isolation and had only seen a couple of women put through it. Nothing as bad as Emerald had experienced. This was just INhuman.
"If you keep this up, they'll hurt the people you care about just because," Tricity replied simply, not interested in arguing with her. It was be no use. She looked over Emerald's wounds and felt the hair on the back of her neck stand up along with prickling of goosebumps emerging on her arms. Tricity swallowed hard with a deep breath and went to the washroom where she picked up a rag and filled a bowl with water. She crossed the room and noticed the stares of other women who were having trouble looking at Emerald because of the condition she was in.
Tricity sat back on the floor and pulled a second rag from her back pocket to soak the water in. "Here," she said, offering the other rag to her. Tricity wrapped the one rag around her arm to help with the swelling. She then cupped her hand in the bowl of water, quickly transferring it to the girl's head, trying to rid some of the blood out. It poured down the back of the girl's uniform. "You aren't weak and they know it."
Tricity trudged inside of the barracks and collapsed into her bed completely drained. This work was insufferable. She couldn't take much more of it. Hope was slipping away from her and she knew many of those around her had already lost it completely. 'What was happening outside the walls? Weren't people trying to fight this? What about the other mutants who hadn't been caught? ...My son...'
There was a sudden loud commotion that drew her attention to the front door of the barracks. Tricity lifted her head in curiousity and saw Emerald being forcefully escorted inside by a handful of guards. Despite her exhaustion, Tricity was on her feet and moving toward the door. The noise had drawn the attention of the other women at their beds. "Em! EM!! Stop fighting them!" Tricity pushed her way forward to get to her comrade. "Just let go of her!" Emerald was kicking and swinging in defiance, but the guards weren't going to let her win this.
Tricity finally got to the middle of the scuffle and pleaded with the main guard holding onto Emerald's arms. "Just let go! I'll bring her to the beds!'
"Someone restrain this mutant!" he responded with a nod, referring to Tricity. Another guard immediately reacted and grabbed Tricity's wrist roughly.
Tricity didn't react and looked her captor in the eye who was clearly looking for a reason to hit her. "I'm not going to fight you, so you can just calm down." She turned back to the commotion and saw the head guard pull a tazer from his belt. "WAIT! Em, look at me!!" Emerald was still visibly in a rage and could tell the tazer would only make her more angry. "EMMY! This will only keep you seperated from us and your sister! Just STOP!"
She was sure it was the mention of the girl's sister that calmed Emerald and the guards took that moment to drag her toward the beds, dumping her down. Tricity yanked her arm away from the guard holding her and went to the girl's side. "You start acting up again, I'll throw your ass into solitary. I mean it!" the main guard threatened. He strutted away with the rest of the guards in toe who were having a laugh.
Tricity sat on the floor, next to the bed where Emerald was breathing heavily from the struggle. She sighed and pulled her legs up to her chin, looking over at Em. "You all right?"
Tricity listened as Emerald explained her side, but was frankly tired of the two of them fighting. She didn't reply as Emerald walked off in her angry mood. She'd have to talk to her later on. Anything but collective would get them into more problems as it were. Tricity saw the guards casually laughing and joking outside of the barracks. At least they would have some time to talk to one another. She nodded to Isabel as she stood up and turned around to see Star lying down on the bed above her own.
"Star... You have to control your temper, ok?" Tricity didn't want to be in 'speech mode' nor was she talking down to Star. It was more annoyance and a bit pleading. She didn't feel like being in 'command mode' either. Yelling back and forth wasn't going to make the situation better. "I know you have it out for a few of the girls here, but we need to push it aside. Fighting with one another is just making it worse all around. We need as many people on our side as possible." Her tone turned a little more serious. "So just deal like everyone else has to. At least we can do it together and watch out for one another. Your enemy might just be the one to save you here."
"ALL RIGHT, LADIES, IT'S TIME TO GET YOUR ASSIGNED WORK TASKS. ONE OF THE GUARDS WILL PASS A FEW COPIES OF THE LIST AROUND. FIND YOUR NAME AND YOUR ASSIGNED WORK TASK WILL BE PRINTED NEXT TO IT. THE GUARDS STANDING AROUND THE ROOM WILL TAKE THE GROUP OF THE SAME TASK TO THEIR DESTINATION." The speaker passed the few copies around the room, one landing in Tricity's hands. The others gathered around to see where they were headed. They were all being split up. This could work in their favor...
Tricity whispered to the surrounding women. "We can get a better idea of the layout like this. When we get back to the barracks, we'll talk over what we've seen. Try and count number of guards... different shifts they take... where they are stationted... cameras... things like that. Please, look out for one another."
"Ok, that's enough!" A guard snatched the paper from Tricity and nodded his head to indicate for them to separate into their groups. "Get moving."
(OOC: For 'jobs'... Shall we make a list? Laundry at the pond, kitchen, cleaning the barracks, cleaning mess halls, cleaning offices maybe? Anything else?)
Tricity turned to the unfamiliar girl who had asked about being 'Xavier's X-Men'. She looked her over and couldn't find any recognition. "Yes. Well, we are the second team, actually. We've branched from Xavier's X-Men into our own team. Seems they might get a long more though..." Tricity watched as Deathstar and Emerald continued their spatting.
She ignored the two as her head pounded in annoyance. Instead, her focus became on the room itself. She watched the guards circle. Tried to remember their faces. Mentally took pictures of the room and the women working behind in the kitchen. Her concentration broke when people were suddenly standing and Deathstar fell to the floor. Blood sprayed from her mouth.
"HEY! Cut it out!!" she yelled, standing up and beginning to step between everyone. Emerald moved faster though. She had grabbed Star and pushed her against the wall in heated anger. Tricity suddenly noticed the familiar faces of the girls who they'd been fighting not so long ago. They were tough as shit and it would certainly prove useful if they could all work together now. Her attention was pulled back to Deathstar and Emerald. Tricity grabbed the arm Emerald was using to hold Deathstar pinned against the wall and tried to pull them apart, but the guards swiftly came over and roughly yanked them in different directions.
Star went off in a screaming huff as they guards pulled her away and back toward the barracks. It seemed the fate of the girl who'd thrown the punch at Star would be having it worse. The first to get sent off to isolation. Tricity shrugged off the guard who was still holding her arm and turned toward the other women from the mansion and those that had flocked over with them as well. 'Where's Raina and Neena?' She looked around and found no sign of either. 'Dammit...'
The fight seemed to be enough for the guards to send everyone back in line and over to the barracks. Tricity sat on her bed and waited as everyone else arrived. Her bunkmate, Star, wasn't there. Probably getting cleaned up. Ruby seemed to be in bad shape and soon another familiar voice made Tricity nearly leap from the bed. "Millie??" The little girl was indeed there and was screaming for her Teddy. That girl never was without that bear. She couldn't believe they were actually taking small children in too.
Tricity looked up at Isabel from the bunk as she watched the girl walk over to Emerald. It never occured to her she would ever be asking this question. "So... How about we call a truce while we're stuck in this hellhole? We don't have to become best friends and we don't have to even like one another. We all might not believe in the same things, but right now, I'm sure we all believe in getting out of here. The more help, the better. Think you all can handle that?"
Tricity cut her eye at Deathstar and Emerald. "Both of you, cut the crap. You're X-Men. We don't need that right now. The whole point is that we stick together, all right? Bickering isn't going to get us anywhere. We need to support each other. We will support each other."
There was clearly something about to start as the guards at the door gathered in a circle. Tricity watched as they broke off and started surrounding the room. She folded her arms and waited with a sigh, leaning against the bedpost in annoyance. The PA system crackled to life again and her ears perked up.
"IT IS NOW TIME TO PROCEED TO THE MESS HALL FOR LUNCH. YOU WILL FALL INTO LINE AS YOU DID GOING TO THE BARRACKS. NO TALKING. KEEP YOUR EYES FORWARD. GUARDS, PLEASE PROCEED." The voice was gone and the PA system died.
The guards all started shouting at once to get them in line. Someone at the head of the line who seemed to be in charge, seeing as he was decorated with stars, some type of general?... blew a whistle and got everyone quiet again. "Move out!" The line started moving and they crossed camp to the mess hall. It was a gray, dull building where a pair of doors opened as they came to it. It was like a public high school movie. Ugly, green cafeteria tables lined the hall along with one wall dedicated to the kitchen area. There were trays for them to pick up and move along the food line where several women, wearing familiar collars, would slop their meal on the plates.
"Meet some of the women you may recognize." It was the 'general' who lead them to the mess hall." They are your bunkmates, species, whatever. This will be one of your jobs here at the camp; working in the kitchen. There are plenty more as you will see later on when lunch is over. Keep in line, pick up a tray, and proceed along." He walked across the room and stopped, pointing behind him. "This is a clear glass wall." Tricity could see that in fact it was, though it seemed everyone else, including herself, thought the room kept going back, but was blocked by the wall. "The men will also be eating here, but on the other side of this glass. They cannot hear you and if you choose to somehow try and communicate, you will find yourself in the discipline circle. Somewhere you don't want to be. Talking is to be kept low in here as everywhere else in this camp. NOW, take the line to the trays and get your food."
They moved along with the line and picked up their trays. A moment later she could see the men filing in and most likely getting the same speech. Though as the 'general' said, she couldn't hear what was being said. She tried to find the eyes of her residents on the other side and saw that the boys were trying to do the same. Everyone was hoping to see more familiar faces... Make sure their loved ones were okay. "This is crazy... That wall is to tease us..."
"Yea, didn't expect to see me here either," she said with a smirk, inspecting Star's new gift that seemed to be irritating her neck. She touched and moved Star's neck slightly to get a better look at the thing, but she saw a small spark despite her helpful efforts. No tampering, that's for sure. "Oh! I'm so sorry, Star... Was just trying to see if I could..."
"Well, you can't so cut the crap." A male guard passed by and studied she and Star.
"Can you loosen it or something? It's kinda tight," Tricity asked him. He was rather short and stumpy. Didn't look like he belonged here. "Please?"
"No can do. Touch it again and the same thing will happen, so I'd advise not to." He walked off after that, twirling a baton in his hand.
"I'd give anything for something to shock me right now." Tricity touched the contraption around her own neck which was the complete opposite of everyone elses. It kept her from being able to absorb any type of electricity. "Maybe I can find a rug and rub my feet on it really fast," she joked trying to lighten the mood.
When they were clear of earshot range of the guards, Tricity motioned for the girls of the mansion to listen in. "We're going to have to put up with a few days of this camp. If we try anything now, it will probably just fail. We need to get a better idea of the camp's layout. If they start to assign jobs, we'll try and all do something different to help in efforts to get a better idea of what this place is all about, alright?" She noticed a few of the other women in the camp listening in on them. "If anyone else wants to help, you are more than welcome. We'll all need to stick together if we want out." She saw a few head nods and then signaled for everyone to move back as the guards were rounding again.
Tricity sat on the edge of the bed and thought of her baby. Her hands were shaking slightly and she stared off toward the open doors where more guards were talking. She knew he was alright... She knew someone was taking care of him... She knew...
Tricity was dragged out of the van and pushed forward into the camp. Over in the distance she could see the males being moved away. They were separating them... She scanned the area in the quick moments she had to study the layout of the grounds. This looked impossible. Armed guards were everywhere and not just human ones. Tricity delayed a moment as she looked up at a tower where a guard stood posted with a rifle. A swift shove in her side got her moving along again as a guard ushered her forward and shut the door to the van. She was one of the last to get out.
She moved along with the rest of the line as it slowly proceeded. When she dropped all her belongings in a box, Tricity was brought to a new room where she saw women changing into what was clearly a bland uniform for them all to wear. A guard tossed one at her roughly and looked at her with an obvious, well go ahead stare. "What? You aren't serious..."
"Let's go, there's no time for shyness. I don't have all day," a male guard said who was clearly enjoying his work.
She was going to give a sarcastic remark back, but knew it would probably make things worse for herself and everyone else. After snatching the dress from her shoulder, she quickly stripped and put the so-called dress on.
"Hmm, you're the electric freak that houses other muties right?" the guard questioned, as he eyed Tricity up and down. "Boy would I show you something shocking!" She didn't respond and started gathering up her clothing.
She couldn't help herself. "Wow... You are so damn clever! I've never heard that one before. Did you think of that all yourself?" She tossed all her clothing at the guard and tied up her hair in a ponytail. "Have fun with that. I'm sure it still has my scent on it." She gave him the finger with a pleasant smile and moved along with the rest of the women outside where the sun was brightly shining, ironically. She could hear him cursing loudly as she walked across the dirt field.
Not too far away were familiar faces. She hurried in front of the other women and met up with the residents of the mansion. "Hey, girls. You okay?" Tricity wasn't really expecting an answer from them as she looked from face to face. Ruby seemed to be shaking from head to toe. She put an arm around the young girl and smiled at them all. "Keep your heads up okay? We stick together... Don't let them keep us down because it will show defeat which isn't an option. The others will find a way to get us out if we can't first."
"LISTEN UP!!" A loud voice from a PA system rang out across the camp. The mutant women watched as the guards took their stations in preparation for something. "YOU WILL ALL MOVE TO THE BARRACKS NOW WITHOUT COMPLICATIONS. IF YOU CHOOSE TO RESIST, THE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE SEVERE, I PROMISE YOU THAT. A FEW RULES WHILE YOU MAKE YOUR WAY OVER THERE... NO TALKING. STAY IN A SINGLE LINE. KEEP YOUR EYES AHEAD. FOLLOW THE GUARDS TO THE BARRACKS. AS I SAID BEFORE, IF YOU CHOOSE TO RESIST, THE CONSEQUENCES WILL BE SEVERE. GUARDS, BEGIN PROCEEDING TO THE BARRAKCS. MUTANTS, FALL INTO LINE!" The speakers crackled and the voice disappeared. The guards screamed and cursed, ordering them to get into a single line as they started moving them all to the barracks.
The walk wasn't too far. The barracks were at the edge of the camp. This seemed to be an ideal way to escape... A guard pushed the door open and the women stepped inside their new home. It was very plain. Nothing but beds lining the whole building. A small bed, two pillows and two thin blankets. "Wonderful..."
"Your names have been placed at the ends of the bed with a nametag that will hang around your neck. If you are caught not wearing this identification, believe me, you will be punished." The male guard turned to another and nodded his head. The second guard pushed a button on some type of receiver and a loud hum filled the room. The bracelets that some of the mutants were wearing were now detatching and crawling up the owners' arms to reshape and fit their necks. 'My God...' The sound of the latches locking in place echoed along the room next as they fastened around the women. "Find your bed and bunkmate until dinner is called. Talking will be kept at a low level. And of course, guards will remain here with you at ALL times."
At this, a few of the guards left, but many remained behind. The women separated and started searching for their nametags and to meet their new bunkmate and bed. It only took a few moments until Tricity found hers. She pulled the tag from the end of the bedpost and put it around her neck, seeing under it that Deathstar would be her bunkmate. The other girls weren't very far away either. At least they would be able to talk to one another without causing a commotion. They needed to figure a way out...
