The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(((okay Opening post to the women's side of the camp. Since I cant get the higher ups to make a diffrent board for it since they are not on that often I will just make do with this brief narration. Here ya go ladies. Post your horrid experiences starting from when you arrive with the rest of you group))
Upon entering this quarter of the camp One would see death. All of the grass was dead around the building, and the only form of foliage was a dying oak tree with nooses hanging from it. In the distance were two buildings, large with a like charcoal color.
The first building was the smaller of the two is where the fresh meat, gets filed in. They must give up all possession of any monetary worth, jewelry, bracelets, and necklaces everything. Then they are given clothes to wear, a simple grey dress size doesn’t really matter but it would help if given the right size. It was possible to get sweatpants with it if one didn’t mind asking Then they had to change, change infront of Prying eyes of the guards before they are assigned to there bunks.
There were about forty bunks per room, and two people could fit on each of the three levels of bunks. Each wooden bunk was cushioned with straw and had one blanket. The latrine was in the other room, and one would have to ask permission from the bunkhouse captain, a human, to go. If one went directly out front, they would be in the roll call yard, which was a large patch of dead or dying grass. The camp inmates were required to stand there for hours, and if anyone committed a misdemeanor they would be clubbed by one of the various guards that inhabited the guard house in the front of the camp.
The men lined up on the opposite side of the main roll call area." . It also served as a public punishment space, where often times Prisoners would be punished infront of their fellow inmates by any means necessary.
As women filled into this side of camp, they concluded that this was hell.
"Look, I... I may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure-seeker, or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell, but I am proud of what I am."

(OOC: Here's a visual for the girl's side of the camp, and a link to the full-size image:
Full Description of the Camp. Infirmiry is in the same building as the Main Office.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Neena was among the first group of women ushered out of the transports and into the Main Building. As she caught a glimpse of what lay beyond, an eyebrow rose. The place looked like a bad mix of westerns combined with horror flicks. Surely those gallows were just for show.... ? A line of guards watched as the women were unloaded and lined up. She didn’t like the looks they were receiving, ranging anywhere from ‘if-looks-could-kill-you’d-be-a-pile-of-ashes’ to ‘undressing-you-with-my-eyes’. There were many women guards as well, she noticed, also giving the new inmates lewd glances.
Lovely....
The line moved rather quickly, unfortunately, and Neena soon found herself at the front, facing a wall of a woman. Seriously, the lady must have been a body builder at some point in life. Neena blinked.
”Wow....”
A box was shoved in her face. ”Take off any jewelry, watches, hair accessories, piercings, glasses, contacts, cell phones, pagers, ipods....” Neena stopped listening after a while, as the list was rather long. She wasn’t one to wear much jewelry anyway; the most she carried was a cell-phone, and that had been left back at the Mansion in the fight. Reluctantly she gave up Shrapnel’s goggles, blinking as the sun light hit her eyes.
”Um, any chance I could get some kind of eye shad-“
A bundle of clothing was shoved at her, cutting off her request. She held up one article, trying to figure out what it was. She was pushed into another room, already inhabited by two other mutants and five female guards.
”Strip,” one of them ordered. Neena blinked at her.
”Pardon?” Looking around she realized that they were expected to change in front of the guards. ”Oh. Okay...” The process didn’t phase her, as embarrassment and uncomfortableness were not part of her personality. What did slightly bother her was the shapelessness of the dress. She looked like she was wearing a grey sack that came down to just below her knees. And the shoes that went with it.... and no socks with them.
”Got pants?” Neena asked in a deadpan voice. A set was tossed at her. They were waaaaaay too big.
Lovely.....
”Um, is there a lady named Gwendolyn here? Because I really need to talk to her about my eyes-“
”Next!!” She cringed at the bellow. She was forcibly escorted out of the building to wait with the rest of the group in what she guessed was the front yard. She put a hand over her eyes to shade them, still blinking rapidly. Behind her several of the girls were crying, while others were complaining loudly about the rough treatment. Neena shook her head and moved off to one side to watch impassively.
From one side of the line up came a piercingly loud wolf-whistle, followed by an outburst of obnoxious laughter. Neena glanced over at the clump of men that was the source of this new irritation. Suddenly she felt slightly grateful that her telescopic vision wasn’t working. The gestures she could see from this distance were enough to turn her stomach as it was.
”Lovely. Just lovely....” she muttered under her breath, and turned away. Maybe she could spot Gwendolyn from here; she really needed to talk to the woman about some kind of shades for her sensitive eyes.
Although, at this point, going blind really wasn't sounding too bad after all......
Deathstar walked slow with a slight limp as she was ushered into the building with the other women. She remained silent during the whole ordeal, but was very observant of her surroundings. As she made her way toward the front of the line, Neena catches her eye, but Deathstar doesn't speak. "Ok!, next!" the female guard yells, Deathstar snaps out of her concentration and walks up to her face, "When I get out of here your going to be the first one I....." Deathstar tells the lady guard as a gun shifted towards the back of her head, Deathstar stood quiet biting her lip. " I'm going to be the first one you kill!, shut up freak, your not going to do nothing" the lady guard tells Deathstar as she shoves the box into her chest, "Now move!" the female guard yells again looking Deathstar square in the eye, this time she cooperates and proceeds to the next room.
"okay put this on and follow the line out" another guard tells deathstar as she slowly shed her clothes and puts the gray mock the guard gave her, and later heading out behind the line. Deathstar ends up in the front yard and awaits until she see anyone she recognizes.
The camp wasn't anything Nika had ever seen before. Nor was it something she could imagine. The walls were high and everything had a very bland look. There was nothing spectacular about this place.
When Nika reached the front of the line she was told to place all her valuavles in a box. All Nika really had were her earrings as her collar had already been taken from her at the Registration building and her wallet was left at the mansion.
The guards yelled for her to keep moving and she found herself in a room with several female guards and another mutant who was putting on some kind of grayish dress.
"Strip mutant!"
Nika didn't respond and slowly and reluctantly she removed her clothing. She felt embarrassed as the air touched her skin. No one had ever seen her without clothes and now there were five human females that knew just what the cat girl looked likeThankfully they had thrown her a similar item of clothing as the previous mutant had. Nika quickly put on the plain dress.
When she got out into the yard she could see the gathering of othe females. Then she heard the sounds of men yelling. The cat girl looked in the direction of the voices. The men were yelling profanity. Many were making comments about Nika's tail and ears. Nomally she wouldn't pay them any mind as she was used to hearing people talk about he feline features, but these men were talking about things they wanted to do to her.
Nika turned away from them without a word and looked for a familiar face. Thankfully she spotted Neena and Deathstar. She walked over to them for some sense of security.

Raina was led by the male gaurd to the rest of the women. The man left her in the care of a woman guard, but he took an extra long look at Raina. Raina stood in line with her hands still shackled when it was finally her turn.
"Dont try anything." said a curt woman in her mid 50's examining Raina. When Raina made no responce and kept her eyes low, the woman reached down and opened her cuffs. Raina was still a moment and then when she was sure it would be ok she rubbed her sore wirsts but remained silent and still. "You don't look like you're wearing any jewelery... and they cut all your hair... looks like it was red." It was then Raina realised the woman was actually looking at her with motherly eyes full of empathy. When Raina met her eyes she wondered if the woman didnt have a member of her own family in the camps- the woman looked so fragile and upset. "I'm afraid you have to strip." Raina winced. She wasn't expecting this.
She was still a moment, and then finally seeing that everyone else had no choice despite the male guards and their cat calls, she began to peel off her suit. It wasn't without pain- after the attack on the mansion Raina was bloody and cut. Her suit had healed within the wounds and as she began to pull at the fabric it pulled the clotted blood with it. She winced and without meaning to let out a screech. Electricty ramshackled her body and her legs gave out beneath her. She fell to the ground. The woman bent down and hurridly pulled her to her feet. "Dont let them see you weak." she warned well aware that the male guards were now silenty watching.
The woman pulled Raina over close to the wall and much to Raina's utter dismay and embaressment, she produced a garden hose in which she sprayed Raina down with icey water. "I'm sorry love, but we can't have you walking around like that." there was a nervous edge to the woman's voice- like she was doing something borderline but she didn't care.
Raina stood nude while the water pounded off her back. Her throat ached and her open wounds pulsed blood that trickled down her legs. Soon she felt simply numb- and that wasn't bad.
A quick glance behind her showed that the last helping her was not the only woman serving the mutants. Raina wondered if the other women would be as kind- though she doubted. Really what they were doing wasnt kind... this woman was just less harder than the others.
Finally Raina was clean and the woman handed her clothing, She pointed to where Neena and Deathstar were. When raina went to go the woman called out. "Look..." she started. "The more you behave the easier this will be on everyone ok?" it sounded like a warning, but when Raina looked in her eyes... it was more like a plea. Raina nodded and pulling the 'sack' painfully over her head she went to join the others.
ooc: I figured we needed at least one human to restore our faith in humanity. Anyone can use her- she's nameless. Just keep in mind my general idea for her story is that she does have relatives who are mutants but they havent been discovered- she's working in the camps so people wont suspect. She's the prime example of how some humans are honestly just afraid of mutants.
I figured we needed some contrast between the crazy humans and the not so crazy ones. After all, there were some Germans forced to be Nazi's or their families would be killed. Just adds another dimension
OOC: hope noone minds me bringing Natalie along. For one thing, it'll definately help me keep up with what's going on on both sides of the camp, and I'm starting to like RPing Natalie. But if anyone has a probalem, feel free to tell me.
IC: Natalie was roughly hauled out of the van. Another couple of vans were already tearing off, as though anxious to leave. But Natalie didn't notice. She'd given up totally. She just let herself be dragged along, and got her phone, earrings and ipod confiscated. Those earrings had been her grandmother's. Now they were lost.
She was given a grey sack, and shoved into another room. "Strip." Natalie blinked. What? Then she realised what she was holding; it wasn't a sack, it was a dress. A poorly made dress, but a dress all the same. She didn't care about the men yelling profanities, and barely noticed them. She was autonomous, just did what she was told, and went outside. Once outside, she just stood there. No crying, no sobbing, no screaming. Just empty. A single tear started to make its way down her cheek. This was it. This was what they had been reduced to.

Gwendolyn was late for her very first shift at the camp, because she had to make a side-trip to an eye clinic. Somehow, she knew—simply knew—that she wasn’t going to get chewed out over it. She was right. The head nurse on duty hadn’t even noticed she was scheduled for the day, so she’d been grateful that Gwendolyn had showed up at all instead of miffed she’d shown up a half an hour late. The first shipment of mutants had just arrived, and the infirmary... was surprisingly under crowded. The general philosophy of this place seemed to be “if they get beat up ‘cause they deserve it, then they can heal without us... ‘cause they deserve it”. Gwendolyn stuck her hand in her pocket, and fingered the special pick-up she’d been late to make. Somehow, she knew—just knew—that this wasn’t going to be her favorite place of employment ever.
Well, what the hell. She’d gone out of her way to get them, she might as well deliver them.
On her first break, the rotund young nurse stomped out of the main office into the women’s side of the camp. She closed the distance to the group of disheveled, displaced, distraught women like an approaching thunderhead. She stopped dead in front of Neena, and shoved the contents of her pocket at the woman. “Here,” she said simply. “Any of the guards try to confiscate them, you talk to me. I’ve put it in your record that you need them.”
Her offering to the woman was a simple, flimsy, paper-and-plastic pair of sunglasses like the kind an eye doctor gives to a patient who’s just had pupil-dilating eye drops. They weren’t much. But Gwendolyn hardly thought the mutant was in a position to complain.

Neena watched the growing group of grey-clad women and girls. It reminded her somewhat of the orphanages pictured in old movies such as Annie and Oliver Twist. Except, she doubted many of these ladies had plans to break into song....
She saw Deathstar appear, followed soon after by Nika.
"I don't like it here." Neena glanced down at Nika, her face expressionless.
Raina appeared, then one of the other girls, Ted's friend. She looked so.... broken.....
Neena's heart wrenched, but she resisted making any move. She hadn't yet decided how she was going to handle herself in this place. There were so many ways to react to situations, and so much depended on the reactions....
She could become stone, as Jason had suggested, shielding herself from all emotion and looking out for number one. While she might survive a few days longer, what kind of existence would it be?
Or she could try to become the camp savior, doing her best to protect every one else from the insult-and-profanity-slinging jerks currently making themselves heard. That was a surefire way to get herself a one-way ticket out of the camp in a pine box. And wouldn't that be a fine way to help the others?
Neena sighed and ran a hand through her hair, other hand placed on her hip. "Definately not my idea of a vacation...." she murmured. She closed her eyes against the sunlight and lowered her head, while her mind wandered over the many possible 'cause-and-effect' scenarios, to the point that she didn't even see Gwendolyn until she was directly in front of her. She blinked in surprise as something was pushed roughly into her hand.
“Here. Any of the guards try to confiscate them, you talk to me. I’ve put it in your record that you need them.”
Neena opened her fist. The paper-and-plastic glasses reminded her of 3-D glasses that movie theaters handed out, except dark instead of red and blue. Her face softened. She nodded at Gwendolyn.
"Will do." She didn't say thank you, but the simple statement, and the tone it was said in, spoke volumes more than 'Thank You' could have. She put the glasses carefully in the pocket of her sweats. She would put them on, but she had something to do first.
Turning toward the male guards line up nearby, she shaded her eyes with one hand, and placed the other on her hip.
And she stared. Unmoving, emotionless, and unintimidated, she simply stared. Every now and then her almost-white-eyed gaze would move to one guard or another, but her body never moved.
Perhaps she was letting herself in for unnecessary heart-and-headache. And other types of aches, no doubt.... But she decided she couldn't help it. She couldn't be intimidated anyway, so why pretend? She had friends.... no, scratch that... she had family here, and she intened to look out for them, as much as she possibly could.
If the guards had a problem with that, well then.....
<"We all have issues, now don't we? Deal with it.">
Emerald and Ruby shuffled out of the van, their death grips still on one another. Ruby refused to be separated from her sister again while Emerald refused to let any of these bastard harm her baby sister.
Ethier way both Lupin sisters were filled foward, given the same ruled the other women had.
"Drop all your belongings here." She said.
Ruby reluctantly handed over the packs, though she began looking in the bag, trying to get something out. She saw the womans look and her ears flattened guiltily.
“Can’t I take one thing out?” Ruby asked, looking up at the female with pleading eyes.
“What is it?” She responded glancing at the fox girl.
Ruby went into the bag and brought out Buster, the stuffed bunny, hugging it tightly to her chest.
The camp woman sighed deeply, rubbing her temples. She didn’t know how to tell the fox girl that she couldn’t bring the rabbit into the camp right away. It took her a moment but she came up with an Idea both beneficial to herself and the young foxling.
“How about this, I will make sure you are assigned to warehouse sorting with me and some of the others, then I will give you your rabbit there. You are permitted to bring one thing back from there every time you sort so it should be fine.”
Ruby paused before reluctantly handing buster over to the woman. “Oh…Okay.”
Emerald smiled a bit at Ruby before they where handed the two dresses. The wolf girl glanced at the dress apprehensively before looking back up at Jan((she has a name))
“Umm….you think I could get some kind of….pants?” Emerald stated in a small, sheepish tone. “You can have whatever money is in my bag if you give me some.”
Jan shook her head and just handed the young wolf girl the grey sweats. “Not used to dresses?”
“No just don’t want to give them any reason to look.” Emerald responded.
When the Lupin sisters went into the next room the order they where given surprised the hell out of them.
“Strip down.”
Emerald flinched slightly and glanced over at Ruby who had a look of pure horror in her eyes. It was just like when Fusionist had taken there belongings at the labs and it would seem like it was happening all over again. Hestiantly both girl’s started to remove their clothing quickly.
Ruby was beet red at this point and when she glanced over at Emerald her sister was reacting the same way. Ruby was surprised by this for a moment, always knowing her sister to be so strong but then she realized why she was like this.
‘Fusionist used to make Emmy do this…for her examinations. This was when the male guards used to hurt her and used to make fun of her scars….her scars.’ Ruby thought when she saw her sisters bare back.
The long ropey scars still covered the wolf girls back from the labs, the whip marks, cigarette burnmarks and the knife scars where all in full view. Ruby heard one of the male guards chuckle a bit at the wolf girl.
“Hey boys looks like she likes it rough.” He chortled
Emerald flinched again, blinking back tears that threatened to fall from her eyes. It was one of those things she never got over from the labs, those scars marred her body and they would for the rest of her life. The last thing she needed was to be reminded of this or being more ashamed of it than she already was.
When they where changed both girls hurried into the group of other women, ignoring the cat calls they guards gave them as they passed. When they reached the group Ruby clung onto Emmys hand a bit tighter, looking up at her through terror filled eyes.
“Hey, you and I survived the third ring of Hell, I’m sure we can survive the second.” Emerald stated reassuringly to the younger girl
More mutants came out into the yard and eventually Nika spotted Emerald and Ruby. She could see Ruby's worried look and Emerald reassuring her. It brought a smile to Nika's face and after Neena was given her paper shades the cat girl could almost feel some of the tension ease off the teacher.
Nika heard the men as they were starting to be brought in and processed on the other side of the camp. She recognized Michael and Ted and then she saw Gore. They were also fitted with gray clothing. Apparently humans didn't like color here. They could totally give Nika a white and blue outfit or even an all pink one.
"Looks like we don't get to be around the boys. Guess we better learn some sign language if we're going to talk to them."
Ruby was relieved upon seeing the other women, happy that they were alright...for the most part. She smiled a bit at Nika, tail curling feebly around her trembling form.
"Or we could get someone to talk to them for us." Ruby replied, looking at Nika.
The fox girl then noticed her sister who was at unease, glancing at the guards who were still glancing at the group of females that where together. Emerald let out a growl, clenching her fists angerily once again.
"I will not be treated like some fresh piece of ass for those tailess Monkeys!" Emerald snarled.
Ruby paniced upon seeing Emerald's burst of anger. She didnt want her sister to get in trouble, she might get taken away from her.
"Emmy, no please dont go after them. It's Okay it doesnt bother me. If you keep going They will take you away and hurt you...I dont want to be the cause of someone hurting you again. Fusionist hurt you because of me and I don't want that to happen here to!" Ruby exclaimed, holding her sisters hand.
Emerald paused and looked at Ruby, placing both hands on her shoulders.
"Listen Ruby I may not be able to promise i wont get hurt but I will promise you this, I will have my tail cut off before I let them seperate us again."
Ruby nodded hugging her sister, before looking at the guards. "they are scary though."

And that was about enough of standing amongst a group of mutants listening to cat-calls from the guards. Gwendolyn nodded curtly to Neena after her "Will do", turned on her heel, and retreated back to the main office and the infirmary within. One thing was for sure: she was glad she wasn't a mutant.

Some of the guards had begun squirming under Neena’s unflinching gaze, possibly because of her eye color moreso than the stare. After all, what could she do to them? At the moment that was.....
She heard Emerald’s growl, and Ruby’s worried exclamations, followed by Emerald’s promise.
”Don’t let them hear you say that,” she remarked quietly, fairly certain that Emerald could hear. ”No need to invite trouble in when it’s already an unwelcome guest.”
"They are scary though."
Neena broke away from her staring contest to smile at the fox girl. ”What, those idiots? Nah! Like your sister said, they’re just tailless apes, gorillas. If any one of them touches you, go for the nose. You’d be surprised how sensitive it is, even for a human.” She was only half-joking. "It will distract them enough for other methods of attack...."
As for communicating with the boys.....
”Be right back,” she told Nika quietly.
She walked away from the growing group of women, and toward the fence. There were two fences separating the two sides of the camp, with guards patrolling the space in between. As she approached, she took a closer look. She couldn’t see any visible wires, but that didn’t mean the fence wasn’t electrified. She decided to find out on a later occasion. In the meantime she focused on the going’s on of the other side.
She resisted clenching her fists as she watched Shrapnel beat.
<“Show no emotion, show no emotion.... Not yet....”> she kept telling herself. Her gaze moved away, taking in the condition of her students. Shield looked none the worse for wear, and Ted was still conscious, so he must have been at least okay, if not alright. Streak seemed a bit concerned, but from where she stood Neena couldn’t be sure. She didn’t see Jason yet, but she was fairly sure he’d be fine. Mad as a hornet, no doubt, but fine.
Her attention focused on the buildings. One giant building crossed the distance between the two camps, apparently with access from both sides. Hmm....
Glancing around, no one was paying much attention to her, so she walked over and looked in one of the windows. It was a cafeteria, a mess hall. There was a clear barrier across the middle, but she could see through to the other side. Interesting......
”Hey! Back to the circle!”
Neena turned to find two patrolling guards approaching her position. Quickly she shielded her eyes and obediently backed away, back to Nika and the others. But a one-sided smile teased her mouth as she went.
”Hey, have any of you gals ever played Mancala? It’s a great way to pass the time, you know, very colorful.” She sat on the ground and began gathering pebbles.

ooc: Hope it is! I'm wondering though, should we have a seperate thread where the girls can communicate with the boys? It's just that if we want them to communicate it would be easier then posting the same post in both threads. it's a little confusing is all. I've been away for midterms and such, hence the lack of activity! Sorry!
ic:
Hope- the nice female guard- watched everything take place and felt a surge of guilt in her stomach. When the last female mutant was finally processed she changed shifts with another woman and headed in side into a back room where she could vomit. When someone came to check on her- she'd say it was the flu. If she showed any sympathy for these mutants, they may investigate her... and it wasn't worth the risk right now. After cleaning herself up in the guards bathroom she headed outside to a lobby with a bulletin board. This was a guard only area and on the board were photos of all the female mutants with their abilities listed underneath. Hope shuddered as she read the actions they were all allowed to take with specific mutants if they used their abilities despite the collars. In some cases it was brute force, in others- isolation. On the opposing wall was the photos of all the guards that were allowed access along with photos of the other law inforcement officers allowed to enter.
There was a group of female guards gathered around this board laughing and giggling. Hope felt sick- how could they be so blissfully unaware of their actions? As she headed over to the group she heard them giggle about the cute cop- some guy with the same name as a bear on tv or something that her nieces and nephews would have watched on Tv.

Raina had been standing with the others feeling left out. It was hard not being able to communicate her frusturations. Moreso, she felt freezing. She wished she was back in the other room sitting next to Ted- he was always a few degrees warmer then everyone else and sitting next to him was like sitting next to a space heater. She shivered nervously rubbing her arms. Her neck and throat were killing her. She took in her environment. She felt herself wishing she'd never left the snowy North.
All of a sudden Neena wandered off and looked in one of the buildings. Nika watched her teacher but remained where she was. She decided to check her wound while she waited for Neena to come back.
So, she pulled up her dress to look at her side where she had been slashed. Though she didn't get any pant's Nika didn't care at the moment. She would be as quick as she could about it.
Looking at her side the blood had been stopped and she was partially healed, but she still needed attention. She examined her side a little more before noticing the whistles and filthy remarks the male guards and even some of the male mutants were making. That's when Nika quickly pulled her dress back down.
When Neena returned she asked a strange question. One that Nika had didn't know.
