The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?

Not sure if a plot like this has been done, or even suggested, but what do you guys think:
A powerful mutant in the underground is holding secret mutant battles to the death in the middle of the Nevada desert. Contestants, if they don’t willing participate, are either tricked by mind powers, or are kidnapped, just so the paying spectators get a good battle.
The complex in which these battles are held is an abandoned government facility consisting of several buildings. Cameras are fitted through out the buildings, and spectators watch the action on monitors given to each individual or on a large screen.
These are big events and don’t happen often, so battles are split, into 5 groups consisting of 6 fighters, the last 2 contestants alive of each group being in the final round as well as the winner of the last tournament.
Now, there will be some mutants from the mansion who go into the tournament, all 12 places don’t have to be filled, npcs can be used. In fact, the number of groups may need to be increased so that everyone from the mansion wins or something, as these are battles to the death.
The mansion will send a rescue team to find and save the mutants from the mansion, and the ending will be formed as the plot goes, because we don’t want to give everything away all at once. Actually finding the location will have to be found, etc.
We will need:
- 1 powerful underground mutant leader - 10 fighters (preferably half good half bad, so that we don’t have good killing good, thought that could be interesting conflict in the plot.) - 1 Bloodsport Champion - A team of rescuers (need healing/revival powers) - (Optional) Spectators - (Optional) Minions of the leader (scouts, soldiers, etc)
This sounds interesting, but how would you get the 'good' guys to come out there to compete in this? Is this thing to the death or just a fun-test-my-powers-and-skills battle? If it were the latter, I could see that working out well.
Like I said, the good guys are scouted, and are approached, and if they don't agree to go willingly, they are kidnapped at a later date or have mind control used against them. The main idea behind this is a battle for survival, so not only is it a way of testing powers, but also their creativity in general rping.
You may need to allow some members to make another character for the battle that are created purely to be killed off... just to make it more realistic. I'll PM you with some more ideas...
nah, i didnt make it clear about your second point, ill give you that one
but like i said, you might have to allow some members to create second characters engineered for death... unless we can find members who want their characters killed... which i doubt anyone would want.
but its going to be tricky... the number of groups/fighters per group/winners of each group may need to be brought down as there are too many people involved in my opinion...
I'm not so sure about this one, I think it would require too much killing off of npc's and/or actual characters. Perhaps you could have some twist to it where those who are killed sometimes aren't actually killed but something else happens to them that not everyone is aware of. For instance, they could be taken away to this 'training facility' where they'd sort of be brain-washed to take revenge on whoever tried to kill them and then when they came back they'd be these crazy fighting people. Just a thought.
Funny you smention that because i was actually thinking about something like this. Maybe the bodies are taken underground and a healing mutant brings them back to life, where I was thinking they'd be imprisoned, or used as labour or something... but them being brainwashed is an excellent idea, as twards the end they may be used as an army to defend the area from the x-men, who would no doubt find about everything and attempt to destroy it.
Instead of actually being brainwashed, they could have some sort of microchip inserted into them, which may open up future plots when someone re-activates the chips...
Hmm... microchips might work. Perhaps good mutants and those from the mansion could lose battles, creating more moral tension in the school-society and then when they come back to fight and free they discover they're fighting against their 'fallen comrades' and oh! the trouble that would cause! Anyways, it's just a thought.
